Kohl's corporate refund / fraud & scam

Hi, I returned a watch with tag brand new to the store in Naples, Florida on September 26 2015. Today is December 3, 2015 and I still have not received my corporate refund yet. I had called and emailed your corporation several time and no answer. Last time I spoke to someone in the hot line [protected] the lady said she was gonna have whoever was working on my case to call. SHE NEVER CALLED. Every time I spoke to someone in that department they treat me like a criminal stating that this was the loss prevention dept. What do I have to do with the loss prevention dept? I returned a watch that it was MINE. and I didn't get my refund or the famous corporate refund and I also lost my item. Please let me know what is next? Do I need to get an Attorney involve with this?

Yes, get an attorney involved. I am close to getting one for my situation. I got a similar reaction when I tried to correct their error in a shipment. Supposedly my order arrived the Friday before Thanksgiving and yet no box from Kohl's was in my lobby. First Customer Service tells me I am mistaken, I must be missing it somewhere so just check harder. Then Customer Service tells me FedEx delivered it to the Post Office, so I should go check with them. I live in Chicago, so which Post Office was it delivered to, since there must be dozens throughout the city? And why? I have a doorman 24/7, so no need to deliver to anyone but the doorman. I paid for delivery not to go wandering around Chicago to visit each and every Post Office. And with the doorman, I know the box was not delivered to my building. They repeat to go to the Post Office and I then have to threaten fraud to them. At that point, it gets kicked to another person, probably a superior, and they tell me if I can not find it, they will refund it. I insist on refund but then I am told that they have to do a check of where things went wrong and only after THEY are satisfied, do I get my refund. Well, I got the bill for this non-shipment and suspected I better pay. That sounds sensible given how long it has taken and your similar treatment for a non-shipment. Now that Christmas is passed, I have time to follow up with them one last time to verify credit or I am suing them for fraud - and that's both a civil and criminal penalty.

Kohl's work conditions for employees

I worked at Kohl's for a year and a half. The managers there where mean, and they discriminated and made fun of other employees behind there back. The pay is/ was terrible. The breaks are short, doesn't matter if you are there for 8-10 hour they will work you like a dog. If they don't like you they will find a reason to fire you doesn't matter if you didn't do anything wrong. It happened to 3 people during my duration there and then it happened to me. They will milk you for everything that you've got. The managers and the company its self doesn't care about you as an employee at all.

Kohl's gift cards/kohl's cash

Today I went to Kohl's and purchased 4 gift cards at $50.00 each. It was advertised that for every $50.00 spent you would receive $15.00 in Kohl's cash. When I asked about the Kohl's cash, I was told the purchase of gift cards does not apply. I asked them why since the person receiving them could only use them at Kohl's. The said they didn't know and it was just policy from corporate. I said well that is not right. Purchase is a purchase and when the gift cards were redeemed they would not get Kohl's cash then. Kohl's is rewarding spending money for merchandise but not it you purchase a gift card to send someone for Christmas. I do not think this is fare and I am likely not to buy another gift card. I called Customer Service, had two people that did not understand me or what I was saying, transferred to a Supervisor that told me that was policy and that was that. This policy is discriminatory and not fare to good customers that have been Kohl's customers for many years. A purchase is a purchase, does not matter what you buy.

Give me a break. There is no discrimination in this policy (and the fine print notifies you that gift card purchases don't earn you Kohl's Cash). Also, you mistakenly stated that the person receiving the gift cards would not earn Kohl's Cash. This is actually incorrect and the reason for the policy. If the gift card receiver buys $50 in merchandise with their gift card and there is Kohl's Cash promotion (which there often is), he/she will earn Kohl's Cash. This would then mean that $50 earned double Kohl's Cash.

Kohl's unauthorized credit card charges

In the middle of a terrible customer service experience. Over the weekend someone used my Kohls.com account to place a fraudulent order. I am not sure how someone obtained my account information, I suspect there was a data breach that I was never informed of. After receiving the email confirmation for the order I contacted customer service who said the order was already in fulfillment so there is nothing they can do to cancel the order. I was then instructed to call their fraud department but the phone number I was given results in a fax machine tone. I found another phone number on the Kohl's website [protected], but that number resulted in the same fax machine tone as well. I then contacted customer service again and finally received a working phone number and was able to talk to the fraud department, but was then told that they will not remove the charge from my account until their investigation is complete which may take up to 60 days. I have never had such a terrible customer service experience, I will be closing my account as soon as the situation is resolved.

I too just had my Kohl's account hacked. The account was created 11/25/2015, hacked on 7/12/2016. Oddly, they entered someone else's credit card info. Kohl's was pleasant on the phone, but would not let me cancel the order because it was not on my credit card. So, Kohl's has been hacked, *and* their internal processes won't let them fix the hack.

We found someone managed to get access to our account, use the unused Kohl's cash listed there, and also placed a fraudulent order (also 11/25/2015) to get more Kohl's cash sent to the email they setup.

I also expect we'll be hearing about a Kohl's data breach before too long.

Kohl's work conditions

My daughter Samantha Ramirez works for Kohls @ Madonna Plaza Shopping Center, 205 Madonna Rd., San Luis Obispo, Ca. For the past month and half she been working with high pitch noise in her area in the back of the store. She has been coming home with headaches. She has reported the noise to her Supervisor and the Store Manager. They both said they had reported the noise and have turned in a report, or work order to have this noise repaired. As of yet no one has come to repair the noise. They gave my daughter ear plugs to use. My daughter has recorded the noise and I listen to it and was horrified on how LOUD it is. No one should work under those conditions, ABSOLUTELY NOT. I sincerely hope and pray this situation gets taken care of ASAP Without retaliation towards my daughter. She is good and hard worker. I want this to be taken with you first. I hope this noise will be repaired this week. I'm prepared to take the next step seek legal advise, if this situation is not resolved . Sincerely, Yolanda Perez Ramirez [protected]

Kohl's little girl shoes

I ordered a pair of little girl shoes online, but they sent the wrong pair of shoes completely. So I went to the Kohls store in Monroe, MI to exchange them. Wow! Was that a bad idea, the manger of the store that night was so rude and sent me out of that store with the same pair of wrong shoes and was very very rude. Never again will I go there at night on her shift. She told me that kohls online wasn't a part of there store and that she cannot help me at all because it wasn't her stores fault. She was huffing and puffing out load in front of a bunch of other customers waiting to be helped. I tried to explain to her that the shoes I ordered were only $40 and they sent me a pair of $80 shoes, and that I did not want to take them home. I just wanted her to reorder the correct shoes and leave the wrong pair. She couldn't even do that. I was so disappointed with the customer service there, I haven't been back since. And when I called the next day and spoke to a different manger, he said he was sorry and they will talk with her.

Kohl's certetesy check services

I have been a customer for years at Kohl's; have 95% of the time paid by check, without a problem. First time ever, check declined through Certesy Check Services; attempted to reach someone, no luck. Have never bounce a check; no reason for that to have happened. Have emailed the Board of Directors at Kohls with this complaint and certainly hope to get a response from someone there. Outrageous.

Kohl's secret customer return policy cheats customers

I bought a Sketchers pair box-priced @ $75, on sale for $69 but within 6 mos of wear, the sole came unglued from the shoe. I did not have my receipt, however, the Kohl's receipts boast, "HASSLE-FREE RETURNS, ANYTIME, ANY REASON... "no receipt, no problem..." - "we can look up your purchase and give you a full refund, or even exchange." I returned my defective shoe, was denied an even exchange with the statement, "this shoe is in back-stock and no longer offered..." thus, no even price exchange, only an in-store credit. In fact, I was offered less than 1% of the box-priced $75 - I was offered $6 in-store credit with the statement: "you are given the lowest sale price of the shoes when you return without a receipt and an even exchange is not possible." I asked Kohl's "when did you sell this shoe @ $6 and where?" Kohl's did not extend the courtesy of a reply. Kohl's previously said "our system" fixes the pricing for an in-store credit [$6]; mind boggling, as if some rogue computer or artificial intelligence in the "system" took over any common sense practiced by Kohl's - the policy is set by the person who programmed the "system" - which, cheats the customer of a refund and is contrary to a fair and open disclosure announced in the return policy - "hassle-free"? Only if you're willing to get less than one percent 1% of what you paid. Kohl's has had an opportunity to reply to me but has declined any reply or answers. Kohl's unwritten "system" policy & practice cheats the customer -david

Kohl's unfair credit reporting practices

Kohl's as always, offers tremendous discounts with opening of their charge card. In a moment of weakness I signed up which turns out to be the WORST decision I ever made.

From the beginning, I never received statements. I never even received the card. I had to call to obtain access to my account online and make payments. I ended up making a large return in a store where the associate told me my account had a zero balance.

A month later I check my credit report to see a late payment reported to my credit from Kohls. Believing this was an error, because how could Kohl's, a "reputable" company not contact me about a balance owed before reporting me to the credit bureau?! This had to be an accident. I contact Kohl's who tells me yes there was a payment due, I did not have a zero balance as i was told in the store. There was a balance of less than $50 and a payment of $29 PAST DUE which is what they reported.

They confirmed they did report and will not remove. I kindly reminded them that I had never received statements in the mail or online and that I called to inform them of this and still never received anything. They conveniently indicate no record of this call. I had NO idea there was a balance based on the information THEY gave me.

I called customer service department who informed me that she DID NOT know when or for what the payment had been reported.

She stated the finance department handles that but denied my request to speak to them or get any additional information.

• I asked for terms and conditions that show me what Kohl's policies are for late payments and credit reporting. I was informed this information is NOT AVAILABLE.

This information detailing their policies (That I am upheld to) are not public information and that instead, she would mail it to me. Which I would receive in 7-10 days. Please note: To this date, I have never received these policies in writing to confirm what your policies even are.

I quote the Kohl's rep " terms and conditions are different for every single customer. No terms and conditions are listed online. I can send them to you personally."

The rep, Morgan, also agreed that this information should be readily available to your consumers.

• I never received ANY written correspondence in regards to late payments, payments due, or credit bureau reporting. No bills, emails or letters stating I was past due or being reported. Nothing.

• Ironically, during this time of lack of correspondence, I received several pieces of marketing mail with coupons and flyers enticing the use of additional credit card purchases.

After filing a dispute via email I receive a call from Bethany at the office of the president who continues to tell me they will not remove the reporting. She has no record of my call informing them I was not receiving statements and they will not remove because SHE shows that none of the statements being returned meant they had sent them. She also told me the conversation with their Rep Morgan had also given me incorrect information and that their terms ARE online which outline their policies.

They do not send notifications that they are reporting you. They are underhanded and overly aggressively report you without proper notification or opportunities for you to correct.

I asked Bethany if this is a scenario that she hears often to which she replied no, this is not a common complaint.

Here are several thousand other Kohl's customers who have had similar and almost identical interactions with Kohl's credit reporting practices.

Kohl's does not make an appropriate and ETHICAL attempt to communicate with customers who have payments due. Their blatant disregard for their customers is disgusting and truly disappointing.

Kohl's bait & switch

I ordered a mattress cover that is advertised as "Down/Feather" filled. I accept delivery and it is actually synthetic fiber fill right on the package and the item itself. Very dissapointed that they would bait and switch. Now I have to return the item to a store (Its a HUGE BOX) and won't be able to get the same item, as ordered at that store instead. What a ripoff!

Kohl's online order charges many times

Be careful, you may get charged many times for the same order ! Online order was placed and after card payment, you'll get a message saying "saving order xxxxx because doing so would result in data being overwritten. Order data for your browser was out of date. Please re - submit your changes for them to take effect. ". After 5 tries, called amex and found out that we've been charged 5 times for the same amount. Kohls customer service kept mentioning that that there record shows that the orders all failed and the amex is only a confirmation. Regardless of the customer service excuses, the amex still showed the activities and can be assumed to be payable. A failure to an online user assumes that all transactions failed including all card activity. Who is to say that kohl's transaction will favor the customer (They'll get the money now and return it later if found inappropriate by the customer) .

Kohl's employee conditions store practices

As an associate i can tell you my store is very understaffed and the working conditions for associates, particularly floor associates, are terrible and then on top of that the pay and yearly increases are pathetic!.

All practices are clearly company driven, not local management driven. After viewing massive turnover over 3 years time, i feel the company driven policy is : 1) budget hours, supposedly based on your stores sales, much lower than is needed for associates to complete their "must be done" tasks; 2) give associates less and less hours as their experience and pay increases to promote turnover and an overall low average wage, regardless of how well those associates perform their job; 3) push customers to open a credit account with kohl's, by "asking them 3 times" and if you don't get enough credits on your shift you are viewed as not doing your job; 4) mention to customers how much they saved, "circle it", when you know the "regular" price is inflated, as 95% of the items in the store are on sale at any one time; 5) don't be too concerned with associate safety, as corporate ordering during holiday periods can be so excessive that stockroom space is exceeded to the point that item checkout in the stockroom is dangerous due to full aisles.

Basically a horrible place to work and customers should go and shop elsewhere, as the "actual" practices of the company are highly unethical. Clearly the 5 things mentioned above are corporate driven, communicated by upper management by word of mouth down, thorough district and then local store management (Execs) . Store supervisors (Sups) , associates, as to a lesser extent customers are unfortunately most affected by this "unwritten" corporate policy. Reading you complaint board for kohl's and talking with associates from nearby local stores reinforces the fact that appalling conditions and low pay for sups and associates and unethical practices affecting customers must be corporate driven, as it is not location driven as actually throughout the us.

Kohl's wouldn't sell us a pillow

We were purchasing a comforter set and found a throw pillow on the display bed that we really liked that had no price. We searched the bedding department and cold not find another. We tried to purchase pillow and was told it belonged to a set and they couldn't sell it to us. When we stated that there were no sets like that they told us they still couldn't sell it and they would have to damage it out and return it. We offered to pay a reasonable amount for the rogue pillow with no price that Kohls was going to throw out, and we're declined. Talk about poor customer service.

Kohl's scammed by cashiers

I was scammed by 2 cashiers at the same counter at kohl's on black friday sale. I bought several items for christmas at kohl's on black friday. I paid cash for the items and was asked if i wanted to save 20 percent by applying for a card. I said sure. I gave them my info, signed the application and was told that i would get a letter in the mail stating the status of the credit card. A few weeks later i got the card in the mail, put it in my purse and went on about my day. In early january, i got a call saying i was late on my card payment. I said that i had never used that card. They stated the items purchased and i agreed but stated that i had paid cash for them on black friday and only filled out an application for a kohl's card to save 20 percent. They stated that i needed to talk to the fraud dept and file a complaint. So i did. They were nice about it and stated they would investigate, even stating first that they had a video to review and i said please do, that it would prove that i paid cash. Only later they said that they didn't have the video after all. After corresponding back and forth several times, i get a letter today saying that they have my signature where i charged the items which was really only my signature the cashier told me to sign for the card. They've also charged huge interest rates while they're so called "investigating". It looks as if they're not going to relent on these charges and i'm just stuck being scammed by a cashier which infuriates me to no end! Is there anything else i can do? I would rather pay a lawyer than pay these fraudulent charges. Please help! Lynn ritchie

Kohl's fraud

I returned a pair of pants here in Racine that didn't fit. When returning, the clerk indicated that they would deduct $10.00 for Kohl's Cash that had been used. I had been travelling and wasn;t sure if my wife had perhaps used it but thought I'd ask her about it. Anyway...she had not used any so I call Kohl's two month ago and spent a lot of time of the phine explaining the situation. At that time, I was told that they would be refunding me the $10.00 on my account. As metnioned above, two months later and nothing so I called again today. I was told that the "back office" had checked and decided that I had used $10.00 in Kohl's Cask and decided NOT to refund or notify me. So now for me it's not about the $10.00 but rather being called a liar and being a victim of fraud. As of today...I cancelled my credit card with Kohl's and will not be shopping there any longer. I guess that they just don't need the business.

Kohl's extreme late shipping

I ordered from Kohls.com on black friday because they offered free shipping and 15 percent off. The items wouldn't go past the shopping bag so I called them into a customer service person. My order is still not completely delivered. I called several times only to be hung up on and told to call back at a less busy time due to high call volume. Today is Dec. 14th and I am still missing a box that was ordered on the 29th of November. I thinks Kohls.com was scamming everyone with free shipping this year. If I knew it would take over 15 days to get something from their site I would have never ordered. I had items to be shipped to Washington in those boxes as well as gifts for my grand kids. So here I wait and wait and wait. Then i placed another order on the 4th of December to use my Kohls cash (part of the scam) and of course it is still in the fufullment center. It is supposed to be here by the 19th. They lied with the promise of free standard shipping and never satisfied the promise. Order number #[protected] and #[protected].

Kohl's scam

After making a purchase through Kohl's, I did a survey through Kohl's (oh so I thought) for a $25 visa gift certificate. After the long survey, I downloaded the claim form along with claim number to submit to OnDemand research: The Next Level of Market Research; MFL Rewards; 105 E. 34th St #144, New York, NY 10016. Nothing. The only thing that has happened since the survey is that I now get tons on surveys on my computer! Turns everything into a live link! sends me to a survey even when I x out! It is super annoying! All for nothing! their email address nothing ---- customer.[protected]@ondemandresearch.com --- no answer! at this point I could careless about the gift certificate all I want is to get rid of the live links on my computer!

Scroll down to the bottom of the email, there should be an unsubscribe choice. That's the only way that you will get rid of all the email surveys. I did the survey (for Burger King gift certificate) and lost the claim number, so I have been looking for a way to reclaim it UNTIL I read your comment...I can't count the number of "unsubscribe" I have done...not going to do anything now. Thanks.

Kohl's charged twice for my order

Complaint: Kohl’s provided poor customer service through their 1-800 Customer Service line- I ordered one shipment of items, but I was wrongly charged twice for those items and received duplicates of my original order in the mail.
Situation: I ordered six items over the phone through a Kohl’s Customer Service Representative. The associate misspelled both my last name and my email address, even though he charged my Kohl’s charge card with the correct spelling of my last name. I called back customer service when I did not receive an e-mail confirmation of the order and notification of my Kohl’s Cash. The next customer service representative I spoke with over the phone was unable to correct the spelling errors in my e-mail address, so she replaced my order. I now had two different order numbers for the six items I wanted to purchase, but the total amount that was charged to my Kohl’s Charge Card was $20.00 more than my original order. The Kohl’s Customer Service Associate at the 1-800 number hung up on me while I was speaking mid-sentence, before I was able to clarify why the amount was more. I called back a third time to clear everything up. I was told that one order would be canceled, and the first order number that was placed would be the one that would be fulfilled. I was also given a phone number to use to call while in store to use for my Kohl’s cash redemption. They were unable to send another email with the Kohl’s Cash that I had earned, because they were still unable to correct their original error.

Today I received duplicates of every item I ordered. I called customer service back to find out what to do next. I was told that my Kohl’s Charge card was indeed charged twice for everything. I now have the option of returning the duplicates to a store or having the items picked up from my home. Forgive me if I don’t trust their customer service enough to handle these items that I have already paid for.

All this to say, I am complaining about Kohl’s customer service provided to me through the Customer service number. I was provided false information from the Kohl’s associates I spoke with over the phone. I was told that I would not be charged twice for their spelling errors. I was charged twice and I received items in the mail that I did not order. I did not authorize my card to be charged for the duplicate order. I now have to take time to return the items that I did not order.

The Kohl's Associate said that I would not be charged twice. I was also given a phone number to call while in store to use for my Kohl’s cash redemption, which is very inconvenient.

The Kohl's Associates I spoke with provided misleading information to me over the phone. I was told that their error would be corrected and that I would not be charged twice. My Kohl's charge card was charged twice and now I have to take time out of my schedule to return items that I did not order. I did not authorize the duplicate charges to my account.

Kohl's website does not work so cannot order

I finally got a promo mailing for 30% off (usually get only 15%).
I tried to place an order for a total of $178 after discounts, and was to also get free shipping and $30 Kohls Cash.
I used my Kohls card, of course and input everything correctly.
When I reviewed my cart and hit "continue" there was an error page that the website server was unavailable. I tried for 25 minutes. Same page kept cropping up.
Then of course it's 1 minute after midnight and my discounts, kohls cash and free shipping are no longer valid. Am I an angry customer? You bet!
Furthermore, when I write to Kohls and complain, all I get is a 'we're sorry for the inconvenience... blah blah blah." They will not make good on the offer even though the problem was with their website.
Perhaps they had too many customers trying to take advantage of the discounts before the promo ended. If so, they need to fix their site to handle the traffic.
This is grossly unfair, as I could have saved over $200.
Even under normal circumstances, their website stinks. It takes forever to get to an item's page. It's not possible to filter several criteria at once such as shoes, women, size 9, blue, dressy. No. You have to do one filter at a time and wait, and wait and wait.
What's worse? Kohls really does not care.

Kohl's website difficulties

I don't know what is up with Kohl's website for online shopping but it has become such a hassle that I doubt I will do much more business with them. I have always loved Kohl's but something is going on with their website that is not good. On my last purchase I qualified for free shipping due to the amount I was spending but it would never give me the free shipping at check out. I called customer service and they didn't know what might be the problem because they saw that I did qualify for free shipping. They said they could take the order over the phone which I said ok. To make a long story short, I ended up losing out on $10 Kohl's rewards cash. I tried several times this morning to place and order and their website kept emptying my shopping basket. When that problem was corrected I filled my basket again and went to check t. I have MVC status due to the amount of purchases that I make with them online and I got an MVC free shipping code in my email this morning but it won't let me use the code. Each time a put it in, I get an error message that says the page can't be opened. Internet explorer says that access has been allowed but permission to display the page is denied. Whatever the heck that means. Kohl's you had better get your act together or you are going to lose a MVC customer. P.S. One thing I always liked about shopping Kohl's brick and mortar stores was that all the clothes were hanging on properly marked hangers and it was always easy to see if the size I needed was there. Nowadays not only are many of the clothes not hanging on properly marked hangars but they seem to be hung willy nilly without regard to the correct size location.

I have IE 10 with automatic upgrades as they become available.

I'm really not sure what version of IE that I am using. I will have to check that when I get home. All coupon and reward codes that I input are accepted except for free shipping but again, even with a large enough purchase to qualify for Kohl's own requirement for free shipping, shipping charges are added. It really seems strange that my browser works everywhere else that I do online shopping and that the Kohl's site accepts all other valid coupon and rewards codes that I input but has a problem with my browser when it comes to shipping charges? The shipping charges that are added don't even correlate with their own shipping charge chart.

I can't say definitely that the problem is not on my end but I do a very considerable amount of online shopping and have no problems with other sites. I have done a considerable amount of online shopping with Kohl's over the years and until recently had no problems with online shopping with them. I am using the same security settings that I always have. While it is possible that the problem is on my end, it doesn't seem likely. I don't understand how my security settings would impact a shipping charge being applied even though the amount at checkout exceeds Kohl's own requirement for free shipping. Thanks for your input.
