Kmart abuse of power

This is Mr. Ransom Sr. My daughter was mistreated an given a hard time when she was sick at work. She had a serious medical condition were she had to go to the hospital to reseve treatment for her medical condition. Her superviser gave her a hard time an would not let her leave. I fill if it's a medical condition that need hospital treatment that employee need to be able to leave but my daughter was not she had to quit her job that she like because of her superviser. Her superviser name is Von Pepper now you can handle this or i will report this company to the BBB an file a complaint against sears for what kmart did to my daughter. This is what i would like to happen to this company give my daughter a written, verbal, appoligy for what kmart manigment in jasksonville NC. Did to her If they don't i will handle this you can believe that.

Kmart abused their authority powers, it's Manager staff member discriminated, fabricates cases, and if you confront them, they just pressured you to quick your job, and if you try to return back for a part-time opportunity, they just block you for not to enter on a job application form. Kmart manager members they persecuted you, they give you a makeup warning, that make the company third parties, to believe that the employee just broke a rule, so that Kmart exterminated your job to be fired or end up your contract, so that you have to leave the company and destroyed your job carrier, that is the Kmart new policy.

the company you need to deal with is "sears holdings", also educate your daughter in the fact that her health and well being are number one she may leave with or without permission from her supervisor the worst that could happen is she be terminated. however if it is later proven to be a legitimate serious illness then you may consider legal action. meanwhile i would not waste time money or effort on kmart. just do as i have done with walmart...go some place else...

Kmart management

Alright, so I actually work at a Kmart store. When I first started working there, everything was all fine and dandy and pretty great if I do say so myself. But then some stuff happened with management and we got a new manager. Since then, lots of wrongs have been going on; managers texting associates from non work phones, managers going off on associates over minimal stuff, and lack of communication between everyone!

On my half of it, I was hearing from almost every associate in the store that I was getting in trouble and demoted but no one knew why. A month after hearing this from almost every single person, management finally gather the courage to tell me their selves. The reason why I'm getting in trouble/demoted you ask? Their lack of communication. I got told one thing that needed to be done by the assistant manager who was told strict details by the store manager. I in turn was given very minimal details, hardly any at all, and then got yelled and told I wasnt allowed to go home until I figured out what else I could possibly do. I was also told that I was going to be helped by the assistant manager who in turn walked right by me at least two times, looked at me and just walked on by. So even though i spoke directly to the manager the following day, I am still getting demoted over their lack of skill to actually talk and tell people what they want/need.

Kmart thanksgiving

It's that time of year when we start thinking about holidays and I know that this coming Thanksgiving is going to end with me getting fired because I will be a no show.
My boss has told everyone that they must work at least four hours on thanksgiving, I have small kids, i'm the one cooking plus I live a half hour away, does this matter? nope To me Thanksgiving is a very important family holiday not a day to make money, Kmart makes me sick.

Have you ever thought about all the parents who work in health care? Or those that are on call in case you have some other type of emergency such as a fire, an accident that requires transport to the hospital? What about those who protect us, our various law enforcement agencies?

No, it is not plesant to be at work for 5 hours, including drive time. But many other folks would love to have those few hours vs. their 12 or more. I agree with Dawniette. In this economy, there are so many people without jobs that perhaps an "attitude of gratitude" should prevail, and a lesson in compromise is in order.

Kmart lack of employee service

I just left your store on S. 27th st and I-94. Let me tell you what a horrible experience it was! First of all, from the outside appearence, I wasn't even sure if this store was still in business? The parking lot was empty and half the interior light were off inside. Upon entering it looked as if you were going out of business. Shelves not stocked full and floors looked limited in stock or variety. I went to purchase sundries that were on sale in order to use up my gift card.( I don't normally shop at your stores.)
Anyways, I had a coupon for buy one get one free item and when I got to the checkout (only one open) the cashier did not know how to ring up the coupon. That was obserd! The other item I purchased did not come up at the sale price so she called for a price check and the person that was scheduled for that task was busy working on the loading dock, so I had to do my own price check, so I could leave. I went back to pull the skew card and bring it back to the cashier to show it was on sale. She argued with me about it so I demanded to speek with a manager. The manager was called and argued with me that I did not bring the right skew for the product when all the varieties were on sale. The only differance was the package I had, had a bonus bottle of shampoo attacheded. The price was a 30 cent differance due to the so called bonus item ( that should have been free with the purchase of the deoderant.) Anyways the manager could see how upset I was about taking so long to purchase three items at the checkout and my arguing about lack of service, that she instructed the cashier not to respond to me, gave me it for the sale price and rudely walked away as I was talking to her. What kind of people do you employee anyways? It is my opinion that the customer is always right. Lack of service is a poor reflection on behalf of the store. Training of employees in regard to service is crucial to the sucess of the store. From what I saw, it was poor management on behalf of the store, that is to blame and for a manager to be that rude to me, I feel she needs to go back and brush up on her people skills. As for the store... Now I know why the store looked deserted.

I bought a microwave oven at Kmart 6 months ago, it just stopped working. I got out the book, spent an hour on the phone with Sears/Kmart customer service, got transferred 3 times, and ultimately ended up with "D. J." from Kmart Customer Service. I told him the microwave was 6 months old and I had the box. I told him I did not have the receipt, I said if I take it back to Kmart, will they exchange it for me? He said yes, just take it back and they will exchange it. My car is a long walk from where I live, I lug this huge box back to my car, up to Kmart (Streetsboro, OH) and in to the store, for them to just tell me sorry, we have a 90 day return policy. Then, why after I spent an hour on the phone would the customer service guy tell me to take it there? I never would of gone through all that trouble otherwise! The store manager; Chris was quite a little twerp. He just kept pointing at a sign that said 90 day return policy. Went back home called customer service and all I got was I don't know why he told you that, but you'll have to call the manufacturer (Kenmore, I don't recommend them) and get it serviced! It supposedly had a 1-year warranty when I bought it I can’t believe they won’t exchange it – Microwaves should last longer than 6 months! I don’t want to know where I am going to have to drag this thing next and how long it will take. I am so pissed! I use it everyday. It is almost Christmas, my car needs repairs, I would like to buy my family Christmas presents, and now I have to replace a 6-month-old microwave that had a 1 year warranty?

Kmart satisfaction survey

Just wanted to say I just went to take the Kmart survey and I did not have any trouble although initially I came to this sight because it popped up when I pulled quarried the site.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my search engine is yahoo. I typed in www.kmartfeedback.com

Kmart shelf prices lower than scand price

Super kmart center at 400 east rollins road in round lake beack il.60073 did it again. on july 17th 2010 we were in the store to pick up a few grocers, when we went to the check out the very same thing happened as the last time we were in that store. items were ringing up higher than was posted on the shelf. when you tell the cashier they say you have to go to the service and ask for a refund they send someone to check on the price. then they will give you your money back, after spending 15 more min. more in the store than you have to. nothing is ever done about the shelf price. this is not my first complant.

Kmart layaway

After looking for the right clothing for my granddaughter, then spending the time to try things on to make sure they fit. We headed to the layaway dept. There we were told no sale tagged merchandise could be put on layaway. There were no signs posted about such. Nothing around the children's dept or dressing room area. Much time and effort could have been avoided. Needless to say I was very dissapointed as was my granddaughter.
I understand that this was a decission made by an area supervisor. There is nothing on your tv ads about such a policy.

I sent the email below to kmart's customer service dept and received a general email reply detail kmart's layaway program:

Hello, , I have used K-mart's services (at other store locations) in the past to layaway items for my daughters' Christmas presents with no problems until this year. Approximately six weeks ago I got a layaway purchase of Christmas items. at K-Mart Store # 4043 on 4400 Fort Jackson Blvd, Columbia, SC 29209. I went in two other times and paid on my purchases. My contract # was 40847. Today I go in to pick up my purchases and am told that my packages were put back on the shelf on November 5, 2008. I had made a layaway payment AFTER this date! Turns out I was paying on someone else's account--the cashier transposed the numbers on my contract on two separate occassions. I did notice that the price of the items had gone down, but I thought it was because said items were on sale. The cashier Niconya was very rude to me and told me that I paid on someone else's account and didn't I check my contract #? I told her that I didn't think that was my responsibility--the cashier was supposed to make sure that the account being paid on was correct. And why do you even ask to see ids if you are not checking to see who the customer is. I'm already dealing with a difficult situation and she did not help matters by any means. She was also rude to another customer and made a comment that she wasn't going to deal with this anymore. I have spent over two hours shopping for these items and going to the store a total of three times to make payments on this account. I feel like this is a contract violation on Kmart's end. I had to wait for about 30-40 minutes before I got my money back today. I told a manager that was walking by that I was very upset about this. I thought I had done the majority of Christmas shopping for my girls and now I have to start all over again and possibly not be able to purchase the same items again since it is one month before Christmas! I was also upset because of the rude cashier and managers that were told about my situation and made no apologies until I reminded them of that fact. When you make a mistake like that I believe that an apology is the first thing to do. Apologize and then try to rectify the problem. I was then apologized to, but I felt it was too little too late. I was offered an attempt to get my items back in layaway but why would I trust this store again? I also must mention that while I was waiting another customer coming in to make a payment was told that her items were sent back to stock and she received a refund. She told her mother that she had been up to date on her payments so she was leaving and now doing all of her layaway shopping at Sear's. All I can say is that I am deeply dissatisfied by Kmart's actions with my layaway purchases. I feel a serious violation of trust and a serious waste of my time. If you can't do it right don't do it at all. I have always liked K-mart and hated the way Walmart has taken over so many different shopping arenas. But hey, if you aren't going to take care of your customers, not honor contracts, disrespect them and treat them rudely then maybe Walmart is not so bad after all.

I am very dissapointed in this company because of their skills when it comes to communication with the customers.The cashier that works in the lay a way department is very rude and unprofessional, she does'nt no how to deal with the customers of the store, and she should'nt be working in that field.

Kmart loss of $25.00 giftcard

Kmart has an employee at your Roswell NM store, in the pharmacy dept., his name is Waylon, and I use to think he was great. But after he waited on me yesterday, he brought me to tears. I have small cell lung cancer, and take a lot of medications. I have recently transfered all of my meds to Kmart because I was very impressed with their professionalism, timeliness, and kindness. I am in radiation for the cancer lesions in my brain, so my short term memory is not all it should be. Several weeks ago Waylon made sure I got my $25.00 gift card, even helping another employee process it. I took another prescription in yesterday, it was another new one and should have qualified me for another $25.00 gift card. Because my insurance didn't cover it and I had to pay full price. Waylon again was working but this he didn't let me know about the coupon. When I got to my vehicle I immediatly realized what had happened and called the pharmacy on my cell. I asked Waylon about the giftcard he said yes I qualified, but since I didn't give him the coupon it was to late. I don't understand, why he would help me once, but, only once, knowing full well I qualified. I feel as if someone stolen $25.00 from me. I am totally disabled and live on $697.00 a month, so every penny counts to me, much less $25.00. Not to mention my disappointment in Waylon. Sincerly Martha F. Emerick

You are only allowed 1 coupon per customer which is stated at the bottom of the coupon. Since you already received your $25 gift card you are excluded and do not qualify.

Kmart exchange policy

I bought my son a pair of football cleats from Kmart. I took them home and the first thing he did was take the tag off. He tried them on and they didn't fit. I took them back to the store and they refused to allow me to exchange them for the right size. Two "managers" told me their policy doesn’t allow for an exchange without receipt. Furious, I went home and started looking up Kmart/Sears policies and I ran across a Kids Advantage Program that Sears offers to replace worn out clothes for free to children that wear them out before they grow out of them...CRAZY! I called Sears corporate office and explained to them that all I wanted to do is EXCHANGE the shoes; I didn't want a refund or a store credit. They refused to help me, so I pointed out the fact that they can afford to replace clothes for free but can't assist their loyal customers with a simple exchange. I also pointed out that WALMART has one up on them because they will exchange and refund without a problem...this is because WALMART cares about their customers. SHAME ON KMART AND SEARS!

I couldn't agree more that the Sears/Kmart exchange policy is horrendous. My husband bought a pair of jeans that were on sale. When he got home, he noticed that they had a spot on them. So we went to exchange them. They returned the item and made him buy a new pair. When we got home, I realized they had charged him $20 more for what should have been an even exchange! So tonight my husband went to Sears to resolve the issue, and they said they couldn't help him. I finally called the Sears headquarters, and they wouldn't help either! I have rarely come across such a very bad exchange policy. We won't be shopping at Sears or Kmart again.

Kmart overtaxed

My total purchase equalled $7.38. I was charged $8.04. New York sales tax is 8.875 . The tax should had been .65 not .66. I shop there frequently and the store is not hurting for cash. Why are you ripping off your loyal customers for there hard earned pennies ? I see that trust and honesty are not qualities associated with kmart. Duane Reade is located up the street. There computerized tax system is honest and trustworthy. I can only imagine how much dishonest cash you guys are raking in with your rigged tax scams. I am sending this information to the B.B.B. !

I thought of something else about this particular complaint. If they were to charge you $0.65, when the math actually comes to $0.654975, they would be UNDER CHARGING you tax and they would be audited. So tough break, dude. Check out every single receipt you get... they'll all round up.

Kmart injured and insulted by uncaring employees

I have always purchased my family products from KmMart. I have shopped weekly for years. I have been a lifetime customer of Kmart until I slipped on yogurt in the store. The claims rep with Kmart Claims mgmnt in Carrollton, TX, treated me like crap. My phone calls were not returned until I got a supervisor on the phone and I was insulted and made to feel terrible every time I spoke with my adjuster. I did not even want anything else to do with the adjuster or the claim. Now the thought of Kmart mI have always purchased my family products from KmMart. I have shopped weekly for years. I have been a lifetime customer of Kmart until I slipped on yogurt in the store. The claims rep with Kmart Claims mgmnt in Carrollton, TX, treated me like crap. Kmart bait and switch

My name is James and I have lived in the downriver area for 2 years now, very close to the K-mart located in Woodhaven, Michigan. Every time I would drive by that store location, regardless of day or time, the parking lot always appeared near empty. I found out why today.

During my 45 minutes in the store I found one shirt for $9.99 and a bonus 7-pack of men's briefs for $8.99... when I got to the register, I was told my total was $23.19 which seemed very high since sales tax in Michigan is only 6%. I was expecting the total to be around 20 bucks and change. When I inquired what the shirt rang up for, I was told $12.99, contrary to what the sign read. I paid anyway with my credit card like a fool and started walking out of the store when I realized on the bill, the briefs had rung up at $9.99, contrary to what the sign said. I turned around and went right back intothe store to look at the signs. Sure enough, for the Davis something rayon shirt, there was a sign on the display advertising $9.99... and in very small print for the cotton Davis shirts. There were no less than 4 styles of Davis shirts on the same circular rack with one sign. A person would have to read like a hawk to see the difference. I went to the briefs display. Same thing. A sign advertising $8.99 for briefs with boxer briefs in very small print with at least 3 styles of packaged briefs in the same display. The briefs did not even have a price on them. The price of the shirt was $16.99 on the tag which brings me to my next point.

I check most every item I but to make sure it rings up correctly. EVERY CUSTOMER BAR SCANNER IN THE STORE HAS BEEN REMOVED! How convenient is that for the store? The when I get to the register, THERE IS NOPLACE WHERE THE CUSTOMER CAN SEE THE PRICE OF THE ITEM RUNG UP! Again, I have no way of knowing what the items scan for, I am only told a total. I was so infuriated I went back to the samecustomer service kid since it was the only register open on a Saturday night in an empty store and I returned both over-charged items. Of course, being a teen, he didn't care or bother to ask why I was returning my purchases 3 minutes after I checked out with him. What a scam! No wonder nobody is shopping at that K-mart!

Trust me, I will NEVER step foot inside a K-mart again as long as I live! Think I am kidding? Just ask me about Burlington Coat Factory that stole $8.47 from me and refused to give it back to me. They lost a customer for life. That was back in 1995 and I have never stepped foot inside that store again and I never will.

I don't really care what you do about my complaint, but I am contemplating sending a copy of this e-mail to the BBB for further investigation of Bait and Switch at that K-mart, which is illegal.

Kmart rewards card

Kmart's new Shop Your Way Rewards is a huge rip off. I went early this morning (6/13/10) to our local Super Kmart just to pick up a few things for a family gathering later today. The bill for everything was around $28.00. I informed the lady at the register that I would like to use my Rewards card. She scanned it in, pressed a button a couple times and informed me that it would not take it. The total on my card was showing, the amount owed was less than the total, but the register would not allow the purchase. No one was called to explain what was happening, I was simply told to pay another way. Great service, way to be concerned about you customer. There is no place on the Rewards website to complain and I did send a rather nasty survey to Kmart about my experience. In my opinion, the Sears and Kmart merger was a perfect fit. Two worthless companies becoming one. Let's hope they are both gone soon so a company that actually cares will try and fill the void.

They can't predict how much of a sale product they will need. They order according to what their corporate office dictates. Accordingly, sale merchandise at any store will sell out fast.

Get a rain check next time.

Kmart would you like to apply for a sear's credit card?

I have worked for kmart for almost a year now and I hate having to ask people to apply for the sear's credit card. It is a crappy @$$ card that puts people in debt for years, for buying a pack of gum, I swear! But I have to ask or I will get fired. Also if I don't get one application for every 600 people that come through my line, I get my hours cut. I can't help people say 'no'. I can't force them to say 'yes.' I have had several customers scream at me for asking, had me crying by the end of checking them out, but I have to ask.

Now I find out that one of my coworkers is being charged with fraud. He stole a bunch of employee info from a church and used it to fill out applications for the sears card. Like 20 a day. He's been braging about how many apps he's been getting for months, making it sound as though he was getting people to apply and getting the praise and bouses from the managmet. He got $2 for every app. Do the math, he got morethan $500 in bonuses a month! Thats more then I make in a month.
Well the people he signed up started receiving the approval/denial letters and reported that they never signed up. The police must of just got enough evidents to charge him.

But really, they push us to get apps so hard that workers are commiting fraud to make our managment happy. WTH?

I am a part time worker, mother, and am attempting to go back to school so I can make more tha $500 a month. I only make less because my hours are getting cut because I am not getting any sears apps. 2 5-hour days a week at minimal wage, with no hope of ever getting a raise (manager said no one is getting raises, ever, unless you are promoted) doesnt add up to much.

Ironically enough if I go to Sears I never have been asked once to apply for a sears card and I have been to several Sears in different towns however EVERY time I am in a Kmart I get pestered from the moment I walk in to the moment I check out to sign up for a Sears credit card. I know Sears owns Kmart but you would think the credit card situation would be the same

Upselling credit cards in the checkout line is nothing new, and is not much different than putting candy and other convenience items at the register for people to make impulse purchases.

But you seriously make less than $500/mo? I hope you're part-time. If not, I bet you wish you had done better in school when you were younger.

Kmart unsatisfactory refund

I recently purchased a set of speakers for my desk top computer and found they were faulty. I returned them but my only proof of purchase was a bank statement. They gave me an instore 'red voucher'. I returned two months later to buy a dvd with voucher (cost $9.00) and they would not give me another voucher for the balance. ($25). I was told by the manager I must purchase one only item for the full amount of $34.00 or forfeit the balance. Consumer Protection have tried to negotiate with KMART on my behalf and they told Con. Protect. I was told if I bought something for 90% of the $34-00 I would receive the change. This is a lie. a. I was told no such thing. b. It is still not good enough.
KMART are not prepared to negotiate in any way.

Kmart poor management

I needed to speak with a manager about a return after cashier called for them over three times am standing there waiting and no one showed or called. I felt this was very unprofessional for a company of such high standards being treated like this make me not want to do business with the company anymore.

I know the Kmart is located off cleveland and it is store number 4072 and I would also like to say there were not many customers in the store because it was early Sunday morning.

This make me wonder how many other people are treated like myself and always spend good money with Kmart only to be treated like you are a nobody saying this I have not yet return to the store to see if customer service have gotten better.

What is dangerous about posting personnal information on this kind of website. I thought the preditors usually hang out on neopets and other game sites where you can have online interactions, and sites like facebook and myspace.

The way I see it this person is a grown woman, if she wants to post personnal information about herself than it is her decision to do so. She knows the risks(if any) she is taking.

Kmart poor service in store

This complaint is about the employees at the Kmart Store in Steger, IL. I was looking for a washing machine by Kenmore or Whirlpool. I was in the store for about 10 minutes looking at the appliances. The employee was moving boxes and I thought that when he was complete that he would acknowledge me. This never happened. I approached the assistant store manager and she called his name as Rich. I asked if there was anyone working in the Appliance department and she says, "Yes Rich, the man at the register." I said that I was never approached, and she did not say anything herself. So I told her that I guess I had to take my business elsewhere. Again, she said nothing, and I left the store. I did however proceed to another Kmart in Homewood, IL. There, I found excellent service.

As a consumer, I feel that you should know how inappropriate your employees are, and I felt that I was being discriminated against that day because I am a female and I am a Black American.

I would appreciate a response to this complaint. And, not only that, but your employees need to be educated about this. Your company can loose sells, and I am sure there have been many.

Kmart psp

we shipped my sons psp to the kmart repair back on march 3, 2010. sent by ups. I called to find out why it was not returned. the guy told me since it has past 30 days, they were going to refund the purchase price and the taxes on it. he said that we would recieve the refund on a card in 15 days. that time came and gone. now kmart is refusing to send the refund. I have been calling the 800 phone number, and the kmart associates are not answering. I want corperate office of sears/kmart to call me so we can take care of this problem immediately. or is this how sears/kmart conducts business with it customers?
