For a few years, my wife and I have been supplementing our diets with the Costco Weight Loss Shake. I have chased its store location around the drug store section at Costco until recently they relegated it to a small corner by the cigarettes. I regularly buy two cases about every three weeks. The sales staff always have a hard time finding it, as do I because it moves around. Then horror of horrors a couple of days ago, I looked everywhere. Had an employee look and neither of us could find it. Finally a manager looked it up and said "it has been discontinued because of low sales". I was shocked because I have come to depend on it, as has my wife. Several family members also enjoy the product. It probably didn't sell because it was moved so often and no one could find it, also it was never promoted. Why is it that a customer wants a product and you just drop it. I would buy six cases today, if I could find it. Is there anywhere in the LA/Orange County. California, where they still have some? And can you offer me a substitute (your manager suggested Ensure, not understanding that that is a "weight gain" supplement and not comparable with Kirkland Weight Loss Shake.

Walmart sells the same product online under the Equate name with free shipping on orders over $50. I order 6 12packs a $9.96 each which puts the order over $50. Delivered to my front door in 2 days. They come in Can & Plastic bottle 12 packs, never know which, sometimes a mix. I can’t taste a difference.
I also stock up and am down to my last 1/2 case of the weight loss product and was shocked to find it gone and the staff confirmed the replacement is the weight gain product. I've used these for breakfast and often for lunch for years primarily to get the vitamins and minerals, but can't afford the calories of the weigh gain product. I hope they are repackaging, maybe they'll go back to the cans which I liked better. It seemed less impacted when left in a hot car.
My store told me that the product was "suspended pending "repackaging'". I have since found what appears to be the same product under different labels at Tom Thumb (Safeway) and Aldi.
I wish I had known they were being discontinued so I could have stocked up. I'm at a loss now for breakfasts. I have tried several different brands and I don't like any of them. Atkins, Kelloggs, GNC shakes are awful. Premiere Protein is OK.
I ended up buying the last 5 cases from my local Costco and the last 9 cases from another nearby Costco. Not sure what I'll do after these are gone. Any suggestions on alternatives would be very helpful. BTW, when buying all the remaining cases I couldn't help but think of the character from Seinfeld that bought up the remaining supply of the "Today's Sponge" when it was discontinued.
This is the second time Kirkland's weight loss shake has been discontinued. The first one which I preferred was in a can. As mentioned earlier Costco kept moving them in different spots in the warehouse. So annoying.
I started on my 2nd case and would have this for lunch. So disappointed that it has been discontinued.

I have been drinking the shakes every morning for 8+ years! I love them and have been completely lost without them for the last month. I have recently tried Shakeology which is tasty, but its not as easy since you have to make it each morning and sooooo much money! So disappointed that they have discontinued the product!
I had the exact same experience. I love these shakes and they have become a part of my routine. I was extremely dissapointed when I found out they were discontinued. I hope they will return. Until then, a recommendation for an alternative would be highly appreciated.
