I write o/b/o my sister. She was hired by this firm in September of last year. She was hired for a position which was left empty due to the former two employees in that position that quit because there was not enough staff and z constant overabundance of their workload. My sister went in and took over and - as far as she knew - did the job well. She received a raise in January and was told that the partners of the firm (the same ones that decided to let her go) felt that - 'it was not working out'. Not once before that time did anyone in the firm ever indicate to her that her work was not up to par. Quite the contrary. People were always complimenting her on her skills, atitude, aptitute among many other excellent qualities that I know she possesses. One week before letting her go, she told her employer that she was pere-diagnosed with MS. She was to receive a definite diagnosis on Tuesday. They let her go on Thursday, thereby revoking any medical insurance she had, causing her to cancel every appointment for the doctor, a scheduled MRI had to be cancelled also, just to name a few.
Bottom line is - she got a raise in January and was told that her "score" or "rating" for the point of hire until then was a 8.9 our of a possible 10. The partners rated her a 9.0 across the board. Then she got a raise, then she got pre-diagnosed, then she told the office staff, all personnel and attorneys, and the next week she was let go for poor performance. If her performance were so bad it deemed her losing her job, I would think that someone would have addressed it with her at some point. No one spoke to her of her work in a negative manner at any point of her employe, buty rather oftentimes came to her with questions. If she did not know the answer off top, she found the answer within minutes. She was let go because of her pre-diagnosis. She has since received a definitive diagnosis of MS, but the medication she takes is working wonderfully and the doctors expect her to maintain her level of function, which is such that if you were not told she has MS, you would never know. Their loss - she got another job and she has her own assistant again. My sister is my mentor and she has taught me a l0t. Including forgiveness, because she will not pursue a claim against this company and I think she has a damn good one. Thank you for reading and shame on you Kiesewetter Wise. You speak of good virtue and good character, yet possess none of these yourself. Practice what you preach, and to you partners that terminated my sister's employ - - - God doesn't sleep and I am a firm believer of kharma, so what comes around, goes around.
