Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) It's terrible

Absolutely useless waste of money.
I recommend you not to be like me and read reviews before dealing with them. Don't give them your money and be careful.
Once they get your payment, they stop doing something for you.
They did absolutely nothing what they promised me before getting the money. I don't want to tell you about my experience because the company will understand who I am, and I don't want it.
So spend some time and do a little research before choosing legal services.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Chapter 7 bankruptcy

My name is Devin Healy
DOB 1/5/77
I was originally a client of KEL back in fall of 2015. I spoke to Jessica Rios originally from KEL, then Amanda Jordan, then Lianny Hernandez, then Jennelle Carey, Since then I have spoke to 4 different paralegals, an attorney, and the company has changed ownership. I was told 15 months ago that I "would not have a problem and would qualify for chapter 7". On October 11, 2016 I was informed by Ms. Carey that it was in Attorney Review and "it should be any day now". I signed everything on December 5th, 2016 and met with Ricardo Martinez who also told me "you are all set". Since then I have been served twice, and twice told not to worry it would go away as soon as it was filed. I finished paying for this last year and still have not had anything completed.

Just today I was informed by Melissa Fernandez at what is now Englett and Associates, 10 days after being served and told not to worry, that I do not qualify for chapter 7. Isn't this something that should have been discussed and figured out over a year ago before I paid the fees/ filing fees? What I received back was an email saying an attorney will call me in a day or two. That's it.

I would appreciate that I be represented so I do not get sued/arrested or any suffer any type of court action in regards to this issue in the future since it was the multitude of incompetent staff that told me not to do anything. I also would like an actual answer to what is going to happen next since 15 months of my time has been wasted.

Any and all information they should have, although I know they probably don't because I have been asked for the same information 3 different times from three different people. Melissa Fernandez asked me if I had met with someone and signed papers. How come the person filing my case doesn't know my case at all?

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Service from attorneys

I retained KEL attorneys in June 2014 on a family law matter, they charged me $4, 000 and informed me they where very successful. They took advantage of my emotions desperation and helplessness. After countless emails and phone call and never responding, They passed my case around from one attorney after another, with little to no information on who is handling my case. And charging me for the consultation every time. I was given a mediation date after countless complaints. They send me an attorney that I never met and had no family law experiences and caused my case. the Head paralegal was very trashy and had no clue about customer services or family law. they asked for more money and I ask why? they never did any work from the 1st $4, 000 I gave them and at the last minute, they withdrew from my case. now I have to look for another attorney to help me. the money I gave them was an investment I had for my daughter's future. and now I have nothing and have to start all over. I hope no one choose this firm. they will not go to work, they take your money and run.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Breach of Service Contract

I hired this law firm for a matter which was urgent due to an upcoming hearing. I paid attorney fees, court cost, expeditiously. I was given conflicting information by non attorneys, and never received any follow up once they collected my money. A few days after hiring them it became obvious that they were not going to file my case motion in time for the hearing. I was forced to cancel their service, and immediately hired another law firm which filed an emergency petition within twenty five minutes after meeting the attorney. The icing on the cake was the next day after cancelling their services, I received an email from an unnamed source, with no title supposedly from their bankruptcy department, informing me that no money was going to be refunded. This is very unprofessional for an organization that was paid for representation just a few days prior, not to even have the respect to identifying with whom was sending the correspondence, while telling a customer that they were keeping their hard earned funds.

KEL has collected nearly two thousand dollars in court cost and fees, and has not provided an ounce of work in which they were hired. I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general, Florida Bar, BBB, and last but not least a civil lawsuit. Please do yourself a favor and don't ignore the negative reviews on BBB, Google, Yelp, Lawyers.com, AVVO, Yahoo, Sitejabber.com, Yahoo etc, an educated consumer is a wise consumer.

http://www.wftv.com/news/news/local/k-e-l-law-firm-under-fire-after-multiple-complaint/nbqbj/

Listen to real clients, not the multitude of paid commercials in which this company airs regularly. The business seems to be set up to engage as many customers as possible to collect attorneys fees, without the slightest bit of customer service given to their clients.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Malpractice

My husband and I hired KEL Associates to represent us in a foreclosure proceeding in 2012...Even though they were notified of the hearing no attorney showed up for the hearing...KEL encouraged us to file bankruptcy and part of the monies paid for the foreclosure were applied toward the bankruptcy hearing...We were placed under severe mental distress at that time and agreed but after giving it much thought changed our minds...since they did not show up for the first hearing we feared we would have the same result...no attorney showing up for that hearing...We requested a full refund and were denied...DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM THE SAME THING COULD HAPPEN TO YOU...NO ATTORNEY SHOWING UP FOR A HEARING AND DENIAL OF A REFUND OF YOUR MONIES PAID

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) WORST LAW FIRM EVER

This company emailed me some BOGUS papers that were supposedly suppose to scare me into going into an immediate mediation with an ex who never once wanted to be a part of my child's life and who signed legal documents years ago relinquishing any custody because he didn't want to have to pay child support. All the points on the documents were all lies and let alone they were EMAILED never served and never filed. Completely unprofessional, using some ridiculous scare tactic to try to get money anywhere they can. Obviously the Florida Bar needs to investigate these people and this law firm in depth. I would love to see them get shut down. Funny enough my ex is dumb enough to believe some fraud place like this telling him whatever he wants to hear as they take whatever money they can.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Failure to provide services

On Feb 17, 2012, my husband and I hired KEL after hearing about their child support modification flat fee deal on the radio with offices in Tampa, FL. The original divorce occurred in Tampa, FL so the modification needed to be filed in that county and we live in another county on the east coast. We were told the modification would be filed within 10 days after receiving the first payment and we set up a "payment schedule" (which was a mistake-don't ever do this...ever!). After nearly two months of waiting for notification from KEL of the filing of the supplemental petition for modification, I had to call, repeatedly to even find out which attorney had been assigned to our case. Side note: According to KEL, they were having "difficulty reaching us". They had both me and my husbands phone numbers, email address and physical address. After nearly two months, there was never any attempt made to contact us...from anyone at KEL. So, after the many times that I had called, verified all our information for the millionth time, the assigned KEL attorney Ms. Toyna Young deemed herself finally available to return the many messages left on "her vacant assistants" voice mailbox in April 2012. Never at any time did this attorney admit that she was unable to contact us, she admitted that her assistant was "out sick" and she was bogged down with work. However, to this day, this attorney Ms. Toyna Young, reports to her superiors that the reason the case had not progressed was because she couldn't reach us. Needless to say, that as of April 2012, Ms. Toyna Young, had not done a single thing for our case...zero, zilch, nothing. She did however, ask for the $50.00 filing fee to be sent to her office ASAP so that she could file the supplemental petition for modification (which we did provide in record time). As of yesterday, Sept 18, 2012, nothing has been filed. So, in the meantime, my husband has had his wages garnished 60% since April, his tax return withheld, his vehicle repossessed and if things don't change soon, the loss of our home.
We spent all day yesterday in Tampa, FL having to take off time from work to try to figure out what KEL is doing with our case. We visited the Dept of Revenue for Hillsborough County, the Clerk of Courts for Hillsborough County, two separate family law attorneys and came to the conclusion that KEL & Ms. Toyna Young has committed gross misrepresentation, failure to provide contracted services, causing damage & harm to contracted client, and requesting additional monies for no reason other than greed. Additionally, as of 2:15pm Sept 18, 2012 and speaking personally with Doreen Fawkes, paralegal to Ms. Young and the same excuses being made, my husband fired Ms. Young via Ms. Fawkes.
We have retained new counsel and have been advised of the horrible misrepresentation of justice of the part of Ms. Toyna Young, attorney for KEL. Additionally, we are seeking a law firm that would be interested in filing suit against this lawyer and KEL to get lost wages and damages.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Misrepresentation

Kaufman Englett & Lynd - KEL attorneys - resemble a finely tuned "dog and pony show"
Incompetent and inexperienced attorneys taking mortgage relief cases that they know cannot be modified and giving poor advice to clients looking for honest help through the Mortgage Modification. I understand now, after retaining a competent lawfirm to represent me, the difference between the two. The pursuit of the dollar seems to have clouded the vision of KEL.
Shame, shame, shame...

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Lack of Service, No Attorney Representation

KEL's customer service is atrocious. I was unable to get an answer on several questions and each time I called back I was re-routed to a different person, having to explain my situation from the beginning several times. Never once did I speak to an actual attorney.

And my court date...nope, still no attorney. After the resolution of my case, and after spending thousands of dollars, there were still several issues that needed follow up. They refused to take any further action without additional payment. So it was left up to me to continue fighting with businesses regarding the items supposedly covered by KEL to begin with. Chose any other law firm, any other one, and you will get better service and greater expertise.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Forclosure defense

I have hired KEL for two years and I feel trapped. Any progress that was made was from me initiating. I can never get anyone to call me back. I believe they missed a court appearance and messed up some paperwork. I have had at least 5 different points of contacts which are paralegals. They assure I will get a modification on my rental property but most people disagree. I have saved all my email and info from them to prove it. I figured with the experience KEL had in the industry they would be an asset on my side. I feel they have made things much worse for me and of course in the next two months I am up for renewal again and the have really done nothing. Maybe I could be wrong and they could be right. But so far it is not looking that way.

OH YEA FORGOT TO ADD. THE FL BAR IS TAKING KEL BEFORE THE FL SUPREME COURT FOR SANCTIONS, HOPEFULLY THEY WILL BE SEVERELY PUNISHED. ALSO THE BBB NO LONGER EVEN RATES THEM. THERE LAST RATINGS WAS A WELL EARNED F. IT IS VERY SAD THAT A LARGE FIRM SUCH AS KEL CAN TAKE SO MUCH MONEY FROM SO MANY PEOPLE IN NEED OF COMPATENT LEGAL REPRESENTATION AND JUST PROVIDE SERVICES THAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A POORLY TRAINED PARALEGAL AT BEST. HOPE THAT A MORAL LAW FIRM STEPS FORWARD AND GRABS THIS BY THE HORNS. CERTAINLY THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS THAT HAVE TRUSTED IN KEL ONLY TO FIND THEY WERE GREATLY DECEIVED.

I MAY BE TOO LATE BUT HOPEFULLY OTHER PEOPLE CAN BE HELPED. THEIR HELP WITH NOT COME BY WAY OF KEL UNLESS THE PROBLEM THEY HAVE IS TOO MUCH MONEY AND THEY WANT TO GIVE IT TO PEOPLE WHO TRICK AND DECEIVE. MY EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN VERY BAD, NOTHING BUT CONFUSION, LOST DOCUMENTS, STALLING, NOT RESPONDING TO OUR REQUESTS. I NOT SURE IF MORE THAN TWO LAWYERS ACTUALLY GO TO THE OFFICE. IF YOU DO NOT ASK YOU WILL ONLY TALK WITH A PARALEGAL AT BEST AND WHEN YOU DO DEAL WITH AN ATTORNEY YOU WILL NOT GET STRAIGHT ANSWERS. TIME WILL RUN OUT AND YOU WILL NEED TO PAY MORE.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Fraudulant service

After my husband had lost his job, we fell behind on our mortgage payments like everyone else has. We tried to talk to the loan company and they told us when he had gotten another job then we could talk . We continued to get further and further behind and thought our only option was to hire a lawyer. My husband had heard about kel on the radio and called. We set an appointment up and worked out the payment plan (of course) anything to try and save our house for our family. We filled out all the necessary paperwork in July of 2010. We only heard once or twice from them during that year. We didnt have internet but had given them our phone numbers so there was no reason for not contacting us. Then all of a sudden our contract is due to expire and they want more money. We asked them why have we not heard anything from them during the year and everything was as it started. No progress whatsoever. Then within the last month we have heard from 4-5 different people. Some telling us they were going to do us a favor and work with us. What a joke

This firm should be shut down immediately. The complaints go on and on Why are they still able to scam the public? My story about them is very similar and true to form. These jerks have a license to steal, the Fl. Bar is letting them get away with it and doing nothing. In addition the BBB has a long list as well. When is this going to stop?

They did the same thing to me screwed me over. Went down to their office pay the thousand dollars down set up payments for the rest of the payment . The paralegal took my information and I sent then all the paperwork that they wanted. Paid all of my payments to the tune of $4000. . I called every week and they said they were working on it and not to worry. The only time I heard from them was on the 11th but when they said they needed more money I ask for proof of what they had done and what motions they have filed. They put me on hold And a girl came back on the line and said the attorney would have to call me I never got that call I continued to call a got the runaround after that . a week later I got a notice from them to petition the court saying they were withdrawing from my case for nonpayment. . So yeah I'm losing my house no thanks to those ###s and now having to file bankruptcy when they told me they could work out and get my mortgage payment lowered. . If you read this and go on to hire those guys you're stupid. You've been warned. Don't get scammed by these jerks.

Let me join in.KEL told me to file bankruptcy to save my house from foreclosure chap7.During my intake, if you want to call it that, i told them i was in school. After filing the school informed me that my federal student aid was being taken away due to bankruptcy.I asked my attorney why they didnt tell me that filing would prevent me from aid and he told me you didnt ask.Attorney told me i could not voluntarily dismiss chap 7 and to convert to chap 13 and not show up for hearing.I did that.Outcome is that I am still loosing my house and they have my money. When asked for a refund because I was not given the proper info a client services attorney for KEL told me no .Suprising because she works for KEL These people are lying incompitent crooks.STAY AWAY

Now I join the crowd. I trusted them too and they also screwed me too. They made promises, then told me a lie and then asked me to do something that was not legal. They still have my money after promising me to give me my money back. Maybe we could get together and file a class action suit. How can people like this stay in business?

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) CROOKS/FRADULENT/SCAMMERS

I paid KEL Attorneys $2750.00 last year (July 2010) to help with a loan modification for my mortgage. They have dropped the ball three times with regards to getting the paperwork to Citimortgage, because their turnover within thier company is so high. They just sent me letter stating that I have to pay them another $2750.00 for them to keep working on my loan modification eventhough I have paperwork stating "OUR REPRESENTATION WILL BE CONCLUDED ONCE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING HAS OCCURRED." They have purposely let this go over a year--eventhough I have contacted them a thousand times asking what is taking so long..Just so they could try to collect another 3k from me. I have looked online and am obviously not the only one that this has happened to. They are taking advantage of consumers who are struggling and looking for help. I do not know what to do, I cannot come up with another 3k and they do not care. The original contract I have states "The feel includes ALL work that is required to handle your claim." I only have until July 19th. They are not even giving me a full month to try and figure out what to do...or what the next steps are. I have several emails showing my account has been passed around to Dan Myers, Yeniset Torres, Rachel Bosco, Jason Soell all with no answers. I am extremely frustrated and have left several messages, all without a returned calls.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) If you are considering hiring KEL or if you need an attorney, I would recommend looking elsewhere

This law firm is awful. You don't want to hire a firm that is literally handling TENS of THOUSANDS of cases, and each attorney within KEL is apparently expected to handle 500-1000 cases! They have been supposedly "defending" my foreclosure case for over a year. I have had to BEG to get most things done, they don't return phone calls or e-mails in a timely fashion, they won't allow you to speak with an actual attorney unless you demand to (and then you will likely have to wait a week or more), they don't always file court paperwork on time (which could put your case in jeopardy), and the list goes on and on. This firm seems to be way overloaded with cases and clearly cannot handle their caseload.

If you hire KEL, you will be a "number", not a client. And they won't bother to ask you how YOU would like them to respond to the court/ plaintiff's attorney, or what your defense options are. They act as if YOU work for THEM. Not the other way around! If you are considering hiring KEL or if you need an attorney, I would recommend looking elsewhere!

What can I say, they were totally incompetent in handling my mortgage modification. My account was passed around to so many people, they didnt even know what was going on. They changed the address with the lender, but never bothered to check the mailroom to see the lender had sent mail requesting more info. Mistakes in the NPV worksheet from the lender were ignored. They actually gave me WRONG information, that put my house in DANGER of foreclosure, and then said "oops, that information was incorrect, we are sorry". What a JOKE. Stay awya, they have a vancy building and lots of marketing dollars, but the service is awful. They even have an F with the BBB!

2 years trying to short sell my house. Over $5000 dollars paid and still no end in sight. The only time I got a response back from a real attorney was when I complaint an said I felt they where not doing their job. That time Igot an angry response from a lawyer just going on and on about his expertise in cases like mine.

Hope this help other to avoid the mess I am in right now...

I agree with all of the complaints. KEL is awful! Buyer beware! You give them your money and from there absolutely nothing will happen. I have been with them for 2 years and still waiting. I could have accomplished the same results by myself and saved thousands of dollars.
I had a buyer for my short sale that cancelled due to KEL's lack of timeliness and inefficiencies. Documents are consistently "lost". I have never talked to the same person twice. They seem to be running some sort of labor mill.
If the firm can't even manage to organize and submit a few documents then clearly they lack the competence to handle any sort of legal case. You have been warned. If you still choose to use them it is at your own risk.

Please don't waste your time and money with this firm. I gave them $500 for a simple document I could have got from legal zoom for $300. They don't return phone calls. My file has been passed around to so many people. You literally have to beg them to do anything. It took me 5 months to get this done. The document is 1 page long. It's just insulting to say the least about these people. Let me be clear I will NEVER use these people again. They made mistake after mistake. It was like they had no legal training whatsoever. They really have some nerve taking people's money and not rendering services for it. Matt Englett is no better than Bernie Madoff. And his radio show sucks too.

I agree with you completely! Avoid this company at all cost, they are horrible. I was told that a 'whole team of folks, including an attorney' would be handling my case when the commissioned 'counselor' was making the sales pitch. When I got served the foreclosure papers, I asked if I would be able to speak to 'my' attorney, the person told me probably not because of the number of cases they handle. They misrepresent themselves from the start. Do NOT, repeat do NOT hire this firm. When it counts, you will be scrambling to find a reputable attorney and fighting with KEL to get your money back at the same time.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Misrepresent themselves

In February 2010, I entered into a contract with KAUFMAN, ENGLETT & LYN for them to perform and/or represent me in a Loan Modification for my mortgage. I will refer to the merchant, KAUFMAN, ENGLETT & LYN, going forward in this complaint as KEL.

Prior to selecting KEL to represent me for a loan modification, I spoke with many different loan modification entities and selected KEL as the best candidate as they indicated they had programs for clients that were current on their mortgage. I was told this process could possibly take over 4 months to resolve, perhaps as long as 6 months. Dan Myers was the initial KEL representative that indticed me to sign with KEL. I was fine with these time frames. Dan Myers also indicated if KEL could not seek a loan modification directly with my mortgage lender, they would review the closing documents on my mortgage to determine other loop holes, etc, etc. He indicated that KEL would take many drastic measure OTHER than dealing with the mortgage lender directly. Naturally those events never ocured.

However, after one full year they did not perform a loan modification on my mortgage NOR, more importantly, they did not represent me as they contractedly indicated. During the first 6 months of this process, my account within KEL was transferred to several different loan mitigators. Each and every time the transfer occurred, there was no transition process. I would have to contact them after several months of not hearing a word from KEL.

Furthermore, they indicated they sent documents I provided KEL to my mortgage company. When I spoke directly with my mortgage company, they indicated they never received the documents that I supplied KEL in previous weeks and months. I requested a refund with KEL and was denied. I would never get calls back from my loan mitigator for months at a time.

Over the last 2 or 3 months, I worked directly with my mortgage lender to process a loan modification request. I provided the mortgage company all the same financial documents I provided KEL weeks and months back. I paid KEL $2, 000 on my credit card to perform this task of dealing with the mortgage lender directly. That was not ocuring. KEL is NOT representing me nor my best interest in my loan modification request.

I used a credit card specifically for this protection. I currently have a "Denial of Service" claim with my Credit card that I paid for the upfront in the amount of $2, 000 for KEL services. This has been a very fustrating process, AND I strongly believe other a governing agency such as the BBB of Orlando should hear about their unethical business practices.

I have also had the EXACT same situation with KE&L as this consumer. Just recently got the notice that my 1 year is expiring(with NO modification) and would need to renew the initial 2500.00. KE&L not only lack communication but, my mortgage company has been modifying my loan(evidence by escrow and paid insurance) without KE&L knowledge or MINE! I have never been late in my payments as well. I feel more people with KE&L complaints need to post and we can all alert some media attention to these predators.

Englett & Associates (Previously KEL Attorneys) Misrepresent themselves!

Kaufman, Englett, and Lynd runs a tremendous amount of advertising that clearly states that if a client contacts KEL, they will speak with an attorney. I contacted them with that expectation. On my initial call, I stated that I would like to speak with an attorney for a consultation. I was transferred to Kirk Collier and explained my issue (final stages of a short sale, challenges negotiating my deficiency with the bank leading to my decision to file bankruptcy). He stated that I should not file for bankruptcy as I did have some legal options, so I asked to make an appointment for a consultation with an attorney in the Tampa office the next day. When I came for my appointment, I met with Kirk Collier and Lacie Beck, who introduced herself as a paralegal. Mr. Collier offered specific legal advice (do not file for bankruptcy, do not apply for the Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program, etc.) which I considered in my decision to hire KEL to represent me and the actions to take going forward.

I have since learned, by contacting the Florida Bar Association, that Kirk Collier is NOT an attorney. Per the Bar, Mr. Collier should not be dispensing legal advice, should not be conducting a legal consultation, and, if he was speaking in general about legal matters as a non-lawyer representing your firm, should have specified that he is not an attorney. I was under the impression from their advertising and from the fact that I requested a meeting with an attorney and that Kirk Collier subsequently conducted my legal consultation that he was, in fact, an attorney. This misrepresentation alone is cause for negation of any agreement that I entered into with KEL. I have requested a refund from KEL and they have not obliged.

In addition, long story short, I was in the final stages of a short sale. I had a one week deadline to respond to the bank to negotiate my deficiency - I could not get anyone at KEL to return my calls in a week, much less prepare a response. I had to file a response myselft. Again, you would think that a reputable company would just acknowledge that they dropped and ball and give me a refund - they have not!

Yes, we have also been swindled by KEL. We filed to get custody of the husband's child from the exwife. Along with this, the child has been living with us for over 2 years now, and we hired KEL to take care of cancelling child support from going to the exwife. Well, she's going to be an adult next year and this case is STILL open. Technically, we wasted our money . KEL did not deliver what they told us they would. Where can I complain and get some kind of refund for this?

I will never recommend this law firm to anyone, they are not professional at all you pay them money to represent you and they don't even do that. You call to see how your case is going an they don't pick up their extensions. If I knew this was what I was paying for I would it done the work myself they got over $1, 400. from me an they did nothing at all to the point that I had to ask if they were working for me or the other people. This people are just awful they only care about the money you pay them not you or your problem.

I made the mistake of hiring KEL to handle a bankruptcy matter. In spite of the negative reviews I decided to give them a chance anyway. When I first met with KEL they assured me that my matter would be handled urgently due to an upcoming hearing. They had no problem in taking $1850 including court cost for filing. All necessary information was provided to KEL in a very rapid fashion. Not only did KEL not follow up, it was me the customer that did All of the initiating. When I was able to speak with a document collector Kenya Hylton in the Orlando Fl office. I was told that my filing was not going to be done before the upcoming hearing, and in fact it would have to go through two more Hurdles, including over to a paralegal and then to the lawyer. I expressed my dissatisfaction and asked why was this not told to me before collecting my money. At this point the representative became rude, and I immediately cancelled their service within four days of employing them, and hired another law firm that filed the suggestion of Bankruptcy within twenty five minutes of arriving in their offices for less money. The icing on the cake was receiving a letter supposedly from their bankruptcy department with no name or title of the person sending the correspondence stating that the company will not be refunding any money.

If you value your money do not ignore their negative reviews, and make my same mistake. This company will hustle you for your money to pay their extensive television marketing campaigns and you will not get any service. This company has been kicked off the BBB. KEL was banned from filing foreclosures in Central Florida. KEL has been reprimanded by the Florida Bar, and the Supreme Court. I never expect to receive a dime of my money back and plan on filing a complaint with the Florida Bar and a civil suit, however if I can save another customer from having their money stolen from thes crooks, then mission accomplished.

Im looking to sue KEL for similar experience as well. I hired them to do my bankruptcy to stop foreclosure. They never did! two months later I lost my house. Leading up to it I have tried numerous times to contact them with no response. They owe me a house, with all my belongings and my money I paid them and my service provided. What can be done? Cant we all do something?

We own a real estate/property management company in Orlando and represent MANY people working to short sale their properties. We were recently was called by 3 (in the same week!) sellers that were all with KEL, paid almost $3, 000 each for KEL to represent them in a short sale (which is ridiculous by itself). We work with investors that purchases condos in over 90 communities in and around the Orlando & Tampa areas and we contracted on one of these properties. A year went by, only 2 out of dozens of return phone calls and a few emails and nothing was done. The 1 year contract between KEL and the seller was set to expire, no forward movement with the short sale and KEL sends them a letter to renew their contract for another $2, 900. Needless to say, the seller refused to renew the contract. Long story short, my investor re-contracted on the property using a different negotiator I work with, the property closed in 4 months and the seller is incredibly happy. We work with the best negotiators and get short sales closed within 90-180 days (4 months being the average) and little or no cost to the seller, All of OUR fees are paid by the Bank. It's morally wrong to financially rape vulnerable sellers, provide little or no service, get little or no results and then expect them to pay you more when the job wasn't performed to industry standards. If you or someone you know is interested in considering a short sale, PLEASE tell them to contact us. Even if none of them decided to use our services (which doesn't cost them a penny), I'd be willing to talk to each of them, educate them on the process so no matter who they use, they are informed enough to ask the important questions and avoid a situation where they pay out thousands of dollars and get no results. OMG! Why didn't we do a 'google' search about this law firm (I use the term loosely) BEFORE we obtained them to represent us in a foreclosure suit. They have no idea what the meaning of a 'retainer' is. All they cared about was getting payment from us. After that, it was all down hill. The initial meeting with Danielle Stephen who we had been speaking with on the phone and Veranda (supposedly an attorney from the Orlando office) in addition to a gentlemen running around like a chicken with it's head cut off that kept getting up, leaving the room and coming back in. Wasn't sure what his purpose was for being there. After reviewing the Case Summary, Veranda said she found a loop hole and that was going to be their defense in court. Unfortunately, we had some emails from this Kirk the day after our meeting who as it was explained to us was just trying to assist Danielle in ensuring she had all the signed documents and PAYMENT information. We expressed to her that if it was Kirk who took the initial telephone call and not Danielle that we would NEVER have used their firm to which she replied she understood our impression of him. While meeting with attorney Veranda, she was reviewing the Case Summary and found a loop hole and said there was a very good chance that with this loop hole, it would buy us several months and give us time to save our home. Next thing we know just a few days before our court date, the case was given to another attorney and she didn't see any loop hole as did Veranda. As you can imagine, we were quite upset. All she did was go to court and we were granted another thirty days but it was of no help of this law firm but due to us filing a Motion of Continuance with the Court before ever obtaining this law firm. So our so called 'retainer' was eaten up by this one time court appearance and then they said they needed another $2, 000. but would not explain what they were going to do for the $2, 000. As promised, Danielle never made copies of our file and mail it to us. I placed a call to her asking for our file and asked if there was an Office Manager and if so what their name was. You can well imagine how appalled I was when she answered me that Kirk Collier was the Office Manager. And by the way, the people who answer your calls like Danielle are referred to as consultant para legals. We feel violated and want to see this so called law firm (that as far as we are concerned, seem like nothing more then a boiler room operation) stop taking advantage of people and refund our money. We too, want to see justice and will be filing a complaint with the Florida Bar and any other appropriate agencies so that other people won't get burned, too.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !
People, don't waste your time or money with this fake firm, they claim to own the building, but they just rent part of 2 floors, and almost lost 1 floor for default of payment.Firm cant even pay for employee parking in the building, employees have to park 3 blocks away in an unsafe environment no matter if your pregnant, injured, or a young woman.
People, They are scam artists ! How I know? I tell you, I worked for that firm, and at the end they scammed me out of money, they fire about 4 to 6 people every week.

If you are looking to get representation for a possible Loan Modification, TALK TO YOUR BANK ! That is what there there for !
Word for thought. If you owe for an example 150k, and all your house is worth 110k, the bank will not give you the modification, even if you get foreclosure, they will promise you the world, everything they do, YOU can do it yourself at the library, or you can pay an accountant $100 and he will do all the work this firm claims to do for $2950. Attorneys or firms CANNOT order or make the bank do anything, (remember this) WHEN THE BANK SAYS NO! THEY MEAN IT !, all they can do is delay your foreclosure date. That you can do on your own. Most of, TALK TO YOUR BANK. Banks gives loan mods to customers that there homes are not worth what they signed for over 50k. KEL KNOWS THAT !, and they knew it before they started the foreclosure and loan modification department.
Don't believe the 2 sales people, there's a reason why there not attorneys. You can do it yourself once again.
YOU CAN GET UP TO 3 LOAN MODS IN A LOAN. Without representation you can live in your foreclosed home for about 2-3yrs sometimes longer depending how big is your bank.
FYI: The positive feed backs left on this web page are from KEL employees PAID to do it, I know because I was one of them !

Good luck with your loan

KEL Attorneys - Misleads consumers thinking attorneys answer the phones.

It's a minimum wage sales associate who gets a bonus for every consumer who signs up for legal services. So are they really looking to help you or simply get a sale. There is just one attorney who if available may answer the phone. And if you set up one of their free consultations you will then spend the time with a non-attorney. The actual attorney will come in for about 10 to 20 mins and that's it. If you do decide to sign up for legal services the non-attorney is the only one in the room signing you up, the attorney actual leaves the room. So if I'm talking to a non-attorney on the phone and in person is my consultation confidential? What about confidentiality between client and attorney in this case...Hmmm

Don't be fooled by KEL Attorneys!
