Bought a two car hauler trailer from kaufman trailers in north carolina in october 2010. Got about 6k miles out of the front axle tires thought maybe it was just the cheap tires bought new ones did the same thing local trailer shop said the axle was probably bad wrong camber on it.Called the warranty dept for three weeks before i actually talked to someone his name was ernie who told me nothing was wrong with it and they would not fix it.
He said he had the final word on this problem and that as far as they were concerned the matter was over.So been trying to get a hold of Tim Carter ever since and nobody will answer the calls or return messages left go figure. Will not buy anything from them again and would tell everyone else to stay away.

I bought a Kaufman Trailer in Feb, I noticed that the rear axle jumps when towing empty, and the tires wobble, spoke to customer service and they recommended that I take the tire off and tighten the axle nut, I am not a mechanic, it looks like they try to get you to do the work so they do not have to warranty anything, I am so sorry that I ordered another trailer from them. I tow Honda Civics which is not over the weight limit, I have worked for several towing companies and I know the approximate weight of vehicles. I think Kaufman is one like most companies, sell you the item and never want to hear from you again.

I bought a goose neck 20' dual axle trailer from Kaufman in North Carolina in 2009. The Trail Express tires on the front axle have blown out 3 times. The trailer don't have no more than 5 or 6, 000 miles on it including pulling it home to Northern Ohio.
Looking on line and have found these tires (Trail Express) have caused many problems with highway speed blow outs.
Sent a message to Kaufman about the tires and as expected no answer.
My next step is to contact NHTSA and NTSB with pictures of the blown tires. One was changed for me and documented by ODOT. 7/7/2014. They examined the tire and suggested I take action.
I have posted a picture of the 7/7/2014 tire.

Kaufman Trailers, Appalachian Trailers, and Trailer Baron are all owned by Robb Kaufman. These type of issues are very consistent. They only offer a limited 1 year warranty and I think only have a person or two handling all warranty issues, as oppose to 15 or 20 selling the product. If you are looking for a reliable product backed by quality service, you should look elsewhere.
