Job Success Scam Employment Agency

I also received a call today from Susan at Job Success. After reading all of the complaints, I am not even going to call them back. They most likely found my profile on Linkedin. How unprofessional for an Agency to lure unemployed people this way. Always good to keep track of where you post your resume. And if unsure who the Agency is-google them like you would a potential Employer to get the background. Thanks for all the posts to provide a heads up.

I was one of those persons who signed up to this company and took the bait hook line and sinker. They take advantage of people when they are most vulnerable and then reality hits when they deny that anyone from their office would suggest that they will assist with locating employment for you and then once signed up "we don't help you find employment". Yet they expect their clients to pay an additional 500.00 if you get a higher paying job. Oh and by the way they have now changed the name of the company to "You Find Work" ... ( previous names are Toronto Pathways, Job Search Success) no wonder they can't place the name of the business in their office. It would cost far to much money to purchase lettering to change the name so often. My advise is don't walk but RUN from this company should they call or any recruiters recommend their service.

Hi everybody!
Today I had second interview with this guys. Everything as described above. Mr. MacDonald had nice 2 hrs sales pitch that supposed to convince me and my wife to buy their service. As sales pitch it was a little bit longer than necessary but artistic. At the end he offered one page "agreement" under which I have to pay almost $6000 + HST. (Of course, some discount if I pay instantly.) In exchange they offered almost nothing: "phase 1, Phase 2" of job preparation, on-phone support, job consulting, etc. Nothing to measure, nothing tangible, no obligations from their side. My question about success fee was denied: "we must have money to pay for hydro, to keep this doors open".
Mr. MacDonald completely lost his interest after I told I would not pay upfront.
Therefore my summary:
1. This is no a recruiting agency. This is a kind of training courses for lazy people.
2. They have no intention to find you a job or to sell you to an employer. (Otherwise they would get paid by the company.)
3. Do not deal with them unless you are rich and lazy to go for a free (government funded) job preparation program or attend the same in your college or university. There is no mystery or secret knowledge behind recruiting process.
Having some experience with various consulting companies I would forecast that if I pay them I'll got some silly advises that easy get for free browsing internet, probably some interview training and an access to their job search engine which collects online postings as others do. Nothing else. Taking into account that time frame for the "agreement" is 3 years it means $170 a month. It this guys pretend to be sincere they will be unable to provide me with day-to-day highly qualified personal coaching for this money for such long. So they either milk me for more money or just expel me. Form the other hand such period of time does not looks optimistic for job seeker anyway.
The last, on my firs job preparation training a highly respectful recruiting officer told us: "You should never pay money to anybody for getting a job. This is a scam." This guys do not even offer you a job, "marketing" only so be advised.
Good luck to everybody!

Job Success Misrepresentation - Fraud

This company reached me through LinkedIn which may be a warning to those using that service. I was contacted by email and then followed up with a call. I thought that it might be a respectable company, but apparently LinkedIn is not as useful as I had thought. I made an appointment and asked again if there was a fee for service and the response was 'No'. After checking the internet, I realized that that was the first misrepresentation of the truth. Further, after checking other reviews and reports, using a spouse as a reference is in violation of Labour laws, Human Rights Code, and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Anyone with a shred of respect for honesty, duty to democracy and equality in employment should avoid and report this company to the appropriate authorities. They have also been reported to change their business name freguently, but the incorporation business name uses a generic - 2057161 ONTARIO INC. M A HAMEED, WENDELL LACOMBE AND DASMITH. 350 BAY STREET, SUITE 900 TORONTO, ON, TEL: [protected], FAX: [protected]. and this should be used to file complaints or legal action.

Job Success Fraud

There is an Employment agency called Webbers Services.com. They find your resume on line then they pass it on to a company called Job Success. You will first get an e-mail from a person called -Nelson. I received a call by a lady named Susan . Her number is [protected]. She tried to set me up with a Director to discuss my resume. I asked her who pays for this? She beat around the bush and finally said I would have to pay for their services. A legitamate Employment Services doesn't allow the job seeker pay for their services. The employer does. This is a total scam. I never did go to Toronto . Avoid these guys. BEWARE!

MANY THANKS!
As a Toronto ex-recruiter and Consultant in Career Transition, I can validate everything I've read here. I've come across these shifty characters in numerous manifestations in the past 5 years.
Plainly:
-You should NEVER pay money to a 'placement' agency or recruitment agency. Real recruiters get paid VERY well for placing you at a company BY that company..you don't pay a cent.
-If you want assistance on your interview skills, resume, networking and so on, please do your research and approach a legitimate honest specialist or company with a mandate to help
Be safe and good luck in your job quest!

Hi,
Much obliged for the information...is is spreading like a disease. I was called today, went there (curiosity, but what a heck, a TTC ticket is not the end of the world to have fun) . My friend was also called. We both work in IT/ Business professionals.
The new name for the company is Pathways...same Steven...same address. Friends of mine from US told me is is a largely known scam in Chicago, Detroit, etc area.
Cheers to everyone and keep your money in the pocket! We are very good professionals even without their help. Trust in yourself.

Hi All - I just got a call from "Career Pathways" at 350 Bay street Toronto letting me know that my resume has been reviewed by their director's and that they could help me in my career search. I found it odd that they couldn't e-mail the confirmation details for the interview so I decided to google the address and this posting(s) came up warning that they are scammers. I called back and cancelled the appointment which they really didn't seem surprised about. Thank you all for saving my time, money, and sanity! BTW - Susan still works there and she is the one who booked the appointment.

These guys have gone under the following names Job Success, William Baxter, Robertson, RDG Careers and most recently Toronto Pathways. They are the same company at 350 Bay Street 9th Floor. Steven Fisher is still the main guy. Instead of Susan giving you a call it will be Diane. The routine is all the same so be cautious of "Toronto Pathways".

Hello,
I was just contacted by Shobie from Job Access at 350 Bay Street, 9th floor, Toronto. She provided me with following contact number: [protected].
She sounded very urgent and said that she needs to meet with me regarding my resume urgently, and had setup an appointment for Friday, June 17, 2011. The call was so quick and I had a doubt. Then I remembered that I had an encounter with another agency -RDG at the same address and same unit (9th floor) many years ago. I went for the interview and they were asking for $5500 for finding me a job. The story was similar towhat you have all written here.

Well, all I can say: “They should be smart enough not to call their past clients, don't you think?”

Please,

!BE AWARE OF THIS AGENCY!

Thanks so much everyone for putting this up!
Just an hour ago I was called by Susan from job success canada at 350 Bay street 9th floor from that same number, [protected]! (she also gave me a toll-free one, [protected]). She also gave me the website, which looks sketchy as HELL with all the reviews in italics, bold and underline, like a fake weight loss site. (jobsuccesscanada.com).

She had "reviewed my resume thoroughly" (said that a FEW times... odd) and wanted to meet with me tomorrow. I set a time, and she said to ask for Susan or Diana. There were no details, and she said not to prepare anything, just bring a resume. I only started looking for jobs 6 days ago... I thought it was far too soon!

So glad while looking for a map I accidentally kept the "9th floor" part of the address and found this. I will not be going tomorrow.

I wish I had come across this site prior to my second meeting with my spouse. We didn't pay anything because we had a 'gut feeling' when we were there.

Job Success reporting to others

This am I received a call from Job Success. They left a message and asked that I call back as they had an opportunity for me. I could not recall having sent anything to them and decided to look them up to remind myself. Lucky for me -- I found strange references to the jobs, success, a host of initials but all with the same address...Suspicious continued and found this site. And i am so glad that people have taken the time to share their experiences. After reading multiple reports on the less then above board antics of Job Success - I will not be calling them back

I'm so glad I found this board. I just got a call from Crystal and since the beginning fishy. No questions asked and I was booked an interview for tomorrow at 4PM
She told me she's from YFW, I searched google and there is no such thing.
Also asked her to send the appointment through email, and she said their system is "down"
Thank you for all those who shared their experience, for sure saved me from a useless trip to a potential scam.

Don’t get me wrong, there are agencies out there that will take your resumes (either by email or dropping in) and will never call you! I don’t understand how “legitimate” like appleone or talentcor will post so many (low, mid and high range) jobs on their website and on other job boards and never call an applicant back. If anyone has ever dealt with these agencies, here are a couple of people that not worth anyones time (SLOAN FLEET - sfleet@talentcor.com [protected] and MARSHA DENNIS-JONES –mdennisjones@appleone.com [protected] ) I tried calling these two in particular and never seem to be at the office and always away from their desk or not in the office. No email response or voicemail. Nothing.
Please see for yourself and call them if no one on this blog believes me. You can try and I will guarantee you will get their receptionist and they will tell you the same thing they told me.

I got a phone call from CRYSTAL to set up an appointment for the 21st at 1:00pm. I asked for more information emailed to me about the job description that I supposedly applied for and was assured this would be sent within the hour...never happened. I googled both number and address [protected] and 151 Yonge Street) and came across this blog. Thank goodness for this otherwise, I would have wasted my time and money seeing I live outside the city limits for something that is clearly false.

Im surprised these idiots are still running the same B/S scam for so long that no one gone out there and shut them down or trash the place. I think everyone should call back and mess with them for kicks if anyone is having a bad day and needs someone to yell at. LOL

Legitimate agencies will NEVER ask for money directly from the job seeker. These people just demonstrated a new low

I got the same call from Crystal, just now, with the same obscure information and preset appointment with "Steven".

She said Steven's last name is Fisher. Apparently he's supposed to be on LinkedIn. It's a popular name but it doesn't show anything specific to YFW.

No website. She said they only have an "internal" website. Their email address is hr363@ymail.com. Seriously?

I asked her how big her company is. She said they are a small firm, about 30 people all over the country.

Even the skunk below my porch doesn't smell as foul as this.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and saving me from a wasteful experience. I called her back, canceled the appointment and told her she was "busted". She didn't put up any fight or argument.

So glad that I came across this article! Thank you all. I got a call from Crystal today @ 11:07AM (call display [protected]) telling me that I have an interview with them at 1151 Yonge Street, 11th Floor, at 1:30pm. Their company name is YFW (You Find Work). She didn't mention whatsoever the position and job that I applied before. I google the company name and nothing show up. Searching by number, I found this! Thank you all for saving me 3 hrs :)

I just received the same type of call from Crystal at YFW that very quickly told me that I have an interview set up for 11:30 tomorrow morning with Steven at 151 Yonge St. Flr 11.. As I've been applying to multiple job postings I had to search back in my job listings for YFW and found nothing remotely similar. Luckily after much searching on the Internet I came across this site which I'm glad I did. Crystal had given me a call back number of [protected] yet the number Crystal called from was [protected]. I called the 647 number and reached the switchboard for You Find Work (YFW). Speaking to Crystal I asked how they received my resume and she stated I must have applied at a Job Fair which I did not. She then stated that perhaps it was for another posting although she couldn't tell me which one and immediately said that she will cancel the appointment. Maybe it's legitimate but my gut says probably not. I simply don't like the fact that they were able to find my resume and wonder how they were able to especially when I have a number of customized Functional ones out there.
