I am at a loss over the incompetency of Joanna Seidel as it relates to the protection of children. She claims that she only works in the best interest of a child, however this is an utter lie. She works for the best interest of her incoming revenues no matter what danger a child faces. In fact, she enables the danger, by having her worker turn the other way and deliberately doesn't report to the custodial parent, the real events of the visit of the supervised parent. My child was supervised for a number of months by Ms. Seidel's firm. After every visit, the child would report very different variations of the visit than what was reported by Ms. Seidel's notes. The notes were manufactured to display that the visits went well, while the child was in grave danger. On one occassion a family member witnessed my child (by pure coincidence) and the supervised parent being very violent at a public place, while the supervisor was nowhere in sight. My child has undergone severe trauma over supervised visits which Joanna Seidel's firm oversaw. I had numerous meetings with Joanna to express these concerns and at best, she rolled her eyes at me and over the phone would express disenchantment. I caught her in lies time and time again. This woman holds a senior position in the office of the childrens' lawyer - how would such an organization allow such incompetency when it comes to safety of minors. This firm should be shut down.
This is an outrage! Someone has to report this firm to authorities.
While I didn't have the (dis)advantage of working with her directly, I called today to ask a few simple questions about her process and was met with defensiveness and hostility. She actually told me to have my lawyer contact her instead of putting my mind at ease. Later I saw these reviews and now it all makes sense. What a joke.
I think the joke is that youre trying to create a narrative that youre a parent. Which you are not.
How do you know if this commenter is a parent, “Joanna”. We all know you’re a liar and that you’re in it for the money. Now you’ve been exposed and there are not enough Larry Borins or Nyman reviews to pad up your ratings on Yelp/google. Take this opportunity to make yourself a better person and professional who can make a difference with all the training and experience you have. You’re obviously failing us as parents who need direction to get through the worst times of our lives. You’ve utterly failed the children especially in light of what you $$$ charge. Because you’re pompous and arrogant, you’ve single-handedly been the worst “professional” we’ve dealt with. You are uncaring amd give zero F’s about the heartaches you’ve created in the guise of “doing it for the children”. Take these reviews to heart and make a change for the better Joanna.

I am so sorry you all went through this horrible experience.
Believe these posts. They go back almost a decade yet how is this “professional” allowed to practice? Seidel is entitled and not compassionate. She claims to specialize in high conflict divorces/domestic abuse but gives advice that directly endangers women and their kids. She takes abusers words at face value yet doubts the victims. Seidel thinks she knows it all and paints everyone with the same brush. She’s unethical and biased. She lies. And then denies it. We had to sign agreements to not record sessions (I still did)and a waiver so she accepts zero liability for any issues. I have proof she lies and I’ll be providing this to the college of SW shortly. They have asked me to formalize a complaint according to their ethical framework.
Update:
1) her report was useless in court. Judge just tossed it aside once they heard about my ex hurting my child. Social workers like her use the system to fleece divorce families. It’s all symptoms of a sick sick family Justice system.
2) her google reviews all padded up with 5* reviews from colleagues. Some even are related to one another. Larry Borins her work colleague gave her 5* review. She’s obviously desperate if she asks her friends to give her 5*.
3) if you’re forced to use this quack ask for a detailed written plan up front ie a summary of next steps after each session. Record them on the DL so you have proof if she is bold enough to lie again
Please trust these reviews. I see that she’s trying to pad her rating up by getting her BFFs to write positive reviews. This is all true. I’m in the process now and she is biased and dangerous. I’m in touch with the college of social work who have asked me to write a formal complaint. She and her firm will abandon you when things get tough. Stay away from this entitled, judgemental, biased, unprofessional firm and save your family the money and heartache.

I reported her to the above college. She is a unethical and does not protect children. She was completely disregrading the situations occurring with my daughter and her worry and fears because she brushed it off and ignored them when brought to her attention. She created a more dangerous situation for my child and by ignoring the signs and direct information given, my daughter was yet again emotionally and mentally abused by the same abuser I had gone to court to avoid. This therapist had facts and evidence in front of her such as paperwork, doctor notes, counsellor notes and still she didn't do anything about any of it. She is a disgrace to be a therapist and pretend to care about kids and further more I am at a loss for words how she herself goes home nightly to her own kids after harming other children. Purely tasteless

I’m dumbfounded how these reviews mirror my experience with her. Incompetent, sloppy, and unethical indeed
This pro has her bffs padding up her Yelp and google reviews and it’s hilarious. The whole system rewards these “professionals” with families who are forced to pay 20-30k for their services. They’re all in it together to bolster their bank accounts.
Seidel and the rest of the family court system has zero education about intimate partner violence. She disregards red flags as “historical” and prioritized the rights of even [censored] parents to have access to their children without having any sort of help to fix the issues at hand. In her words, “even the worst criminals have access to their kids”. This shows how she and the system turn a blind eye to family violence. Total disconnect.
In court , her report was worth Z. E. R. O. Wasn’t even worth the paper and ink to print it. As the court system in Ontario is changing and just waking up to family violence, maybe she and her colleagues should too.
STOP BRUSHING OFF FAMILY VIOLENCE AMD DOMESTIC ABUSE AS HISTORICAL. Stop saying it’s irrelevant. Stop and think how a child who witnesses and experiences domestic violence must feel and the impact on their lives. Maybe. Just maybe a mother who protects their kid is doing actually that… protecting them.
You’re supposed to be an advocate for the child. Spend to time to educate yourself and really put yourself into their shoes. If you’re that lucky to never have experienced the fear of violence, then train yourself to know what it’s like for those of us who have.
The comments on this board are chilling to the bone. I wish there was such a message board to reference before my child underwent such negligence. I am seriously astounded and I cannot believe how my son could have gone into the hands of the devil. This is an outrage. Where is law enforcement?
