Tim Newton aka JNH Builders aka Coldwell Banker Newton Real Estate was hired to build my house at a base price of $247K, plus $30K of additions, plus $10K closing cost for a total of $287+K. Bricks around the house was not put together evenly (i.e. some small, some big spaces between each bricks). All the frames (including window frames) around and inside the house was not sanded down, they just paint over rough edges of frames. The roof of the house fell down and almost all of the trusts were broken, bent, or cracked. He refused to replace all the trusts (he did replace 4-5), all he did was nailed additional 2x4s to the cracked, bent, and some broken trusts. The house had an brick arch at the front entrance, he did not fully complete this arch (the inside arch -he put an aluminum sheet to cover the arch opening). The electrical wiring of the house was not as shown in the blueprint. Fixtures were not put in proper places & missing pieces. Moldings/Glues around house was not cleaned.

I hired Tim Newton (General Contractor/Builder/Broker) in 9/2006 to build my house of which he said it would not take more than 6-8 months to complete. The project took over 14+ months and the project is still not fully complete, but since it was in a "livable" condition, I decided to moved in on 10/2007 of which he "promised" and he signed an amendment that he will finish the rest of the stuff (listed on a list) done by 10/31/2007 if I give him the last draw from the bank to him. Came 3/2008, the list of stuff has not been completed yet! He totally ignored the details of the blueprint and his workers just put things where it's most convenient for them to complete their jobs (ie facet of tub, light switches, etc). All the cabinets in the bathrooms were not glued to sink counter tops. All the frames (ie window frames, door frames, etc) were not sanded down, they just paint over whatever came from the manufacturer. Missing pieces of fixtures (knobs, baseboards, etc). IT'S A NIGHTMARE!!
