Jiffy Lube Failure to respond to complaint

On april 12 I sent in a complaint and have not heard a word from the company, requested fax number to have documents sent to them and also took copy of documents to the store 577 where negligence happened. The complaint was the oil filter was installed incorrectly on march 22 and on april 6th had t have the car towed as oil was sprayed all over the engine, hood, undercarriage and back gate due to the filter being install. This was negligence in the part of jiffy lube. We are requesting the reimbursement of the original oil change, $33.38 the correction to the issue $ $43.15 and the detailing needed to bring the car back to the condition it was in prior to the damage. $217.00. We requested to be contacted about this and todate have not heard one word from anyone. I will be letting all my friends thru social media that they should stay as far away from jiffy lube as possible as they are a business that is not reliable. We also have the original oil filter that was pulled from the car should you need that back. My original complaint that was sent in april 12 I had requested the fax number to send documents and this request has been ignored as well.. You can contact me at [protected] or thru email [protected]@yahoo.com;

This particular chain owner is not accepting Shelll Credit Cards for services rendered. There is no notice posted advising customers upon arrival, and at time of payment no explanation or other options are offered. Pointing fingers at Shell, but Shell when contacted has no information about their cards being refused

Jiffy Lube on 2025 N Tustin, Santa Ana was very fast. Maybe too fast. When I was there it took them 8 minutes to change oil, filter, wash windows, vacuum and check all fluid levels. How can they do that in 8 minutes? Really want to know how they can do it so fast.

when you have 4 0r 5 people working on your car it should not take 10 minutes. Waiting for the oil to drain takes the most time. about 5 minutes.

Jiffy Lube damaged vehicle

My husband went to get his truck inspected in spring lake, nc just outside of ft. Bragg where he is stationed. He pulled in and parked. A woman came out and pulled his truck into the bay. She stopped short and got out. A man then followed up and got in and backed up and proceeded forward again. Finally the woman got back in and pulled directly inside. A loud klang was heard. My husband was watching through the window as this happened. She had gotten the lift foot stuck under the emergency brake line and broke it off completely, shearing the bolts that held it in place. They came in and told my husband oh you cant pass inspection because this is broken. He said I know its broken I watched you do it! He then filed the report with corporate. Corporate called back shortly thereafter and said everything looked fine from the camera view. Well the incident happened in the "pit" there are no cameras there. The brake line is in our possession with yellow paint on the cable covering from where it had snagged. The man that answered the phone for carolina lubes for north carolina said there is nothing he can do and when my husband mentioned legal action he laughed at him over the phone. We are planning on taking these people to court due to the fact that they caused damage to our property and made our vehicle unpassable and unsafe to use. Jiffy lube responded via email and said they were sorry but the franchise was owned by carolina lubes. Following the prompter I was lead to the same exact man who laughed in my husbands face when he demanded the damage be fixed or legal action will follow. Since he disrespected my husband I refuse to talk to him and I will let everyone know how he, carolina lubes and jiffy lube treat their customers!

Jiffy Lube Over charged

Went to get a oil change...had a special for $29.99. They told me if I upgrade $10 more I would get a full van check, tires, vacuum and washed window. Well I said yes...but got the run around because I am a woman. They talked to fast and I was in a hurry. Ended up paying around $70. They were short handed that day and very busy. I left with no van check, tires, vacuum and washed window. I was heading out of town and did not have time to go back and make a complaint. I have learned my lesson...take a man with me next time. I will not be returning to a Jiffy Lube anytime soon. It can be very expensive. Thanks for listening.

I took my car for an oil change, but the service was awful. They poured lots of oil on the exhaust manifold and the surrounding areas so that smoke was coming off the car for several hours. Levels of coolant and windshield washer fluids were still low. The stirring wheel was completely oily, because the person who drove the car didn't care to clean their hands. Previously this location was excellent, but the new owner/management is awful.

I would not recommend this facility. I went for a oil change. The techinicians left oil marks all over my car. I drove my car off and found the engine cover uncovered and haging when I got home. The oil filter was then inspected and found that the filter had rust marks which means it was never replaced. HUGE MISTAKE AND BAD BUSINESS.

I PRESENTED A COUPON FOR A FREE OIL CHANGE
WHICH I ASKED TWICE WOULD IT BE FREE. OF COURSE THEY SAID YES. ONLY TO FIND OUT WHEN I WAS READY TO CHECK OUT IT WOULD COST AN ADDITONAL $23.00. tHEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE MY CAR USED MORE THAN 5 QTS. MY CONCERN WAS TELL ME BEFORE HAND. THE COUPON SAID NOTHING ABOUT SIGNATURE OIL
CHANGE OR 5 QT.

My husband wanted to take my 2009 dodge charger to Jiffy Lube to get a oil change, prior to this my last oil change was in June 2014. I took the car there and left it with my daughter for service once they where finished she left days before my car was running excellent with no problem. We'll two days later my oil light came on when I to it to my personal mechanic I was told that I needed a new engine. He found engine oil all over the engine and prior to that there wasn't a thing wrong with my car. Now it's going to cost me 3000 plus to replace their mistakes. I will be seeking further action to get this situation handled. Even if I have to go to the press and file a lawsuit. No one has money to throw away because of their carelessness.

My first time bringing one of my vehicles to them …

Several years ago I brought my Chevy truck to the Carrillo/De La Vina Jiffy Lube for an oil change. Everything went smoothly until the next day I had smoke shooting out of my tail pipe, so I had a mechanic friend look at it and it turns out during my oil change one of the “technicians” had bent the oil temperature reader that the oil runs through, and had bent it so bad that it tore, so all the oil came dumping out. It came out so quickly that there wasn’t even an oil puddle in my driveway, it must have all came out during my short drive home. I called Jiffy Lube explaining what had happened, the technician came out immediately, confirmed the damage, then got the part to fix it. My car, after only one day, was running on no oil. They are lucky my engine didn’t seize, because then they would be spending 10’s of thousands of dollars buying me a new vehicle. (For those of you that don’t know about engines, if you car runs on no oil, the engine seizes, and you need a new engine, or a new car!)

I swore off Jiffy Lube and changed my oil myself for the next couple years…

My 2nd time bringing one of my vehicles to them …

After my boyfriend recently had a successful oil change with Jiffy Lube, I decided to give them a second chance. I brought my Chevy cobalt to the same location for a simple oil change. Once it was done, I drove the 3 miles to my house and parked it. A couple hours later I find a puddle of oil under my car. I turn on my car, pop the hood, and see oil spewing out of my oil filter. I immediately called Jiffy Lube, informed them what had happened, and they sent a technician out immediately. As soon as he pulled off the oil filter we both saw it… the idiot who is supposedly “certified to change the oil” on dozens of peoples vehicles per day forgot the ONE of TWO things you do when changing an oil filter: the o-ring gasket! How incompetent do you have to be to forget the o-ring?!?!?! Thankfully I caught it early so not all of the oil had leaked out and done permanent damage to my engine.

Jiffy Lube has a 100% failure rate with my vehicles which is unacceptable considering all they do is change peoples’ oil all day! I am a 23 year old female with no experience working on engines and I was able to successfully change my own oil for years! How their technicians do this for a living and have such a high failure rate is disturbing, and dangerous!

I will be changing my own oil from now on, and I will recommend that everyone I know does as well.

My name is Byran Roundtree and I went to Jiffy Lube on November 6, 2010 and got an oil change the very next day my truck shut off and wouldn't start for a minute and I immediately went back to Jiffy Lube to get the problem fixed. I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WASN'T OIL AT ALL IT WAS CLEAR FLUID ON THE DIPSTICK. I asked them to fix the problem and the looked at the truck the next thing you know the truck wasn't starting at all. I had to leave the truck at Jiffy Lube over night and had to return to put a new starter on it in the morning. The truck got worst and worst when I took it to Jiffy Lube. I BELIEVE I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED because the truck hasn't been running the same ever since the transmission is going up ever since I visited Jiffy Lube.

Jiffy Lube radiator flush

My daughter went in for an oil change and they told her she needed a radiator flush (second one this year$$$$). She had them both done and drove approximately 25 miles and the car ran hot and the head gasket was blown and the motor ruined. We had it towed to a garage and they said there was NOTHING in the radiator. It was dry. It is going to cost us between $4000 and $5000 to get the engine and radiator replaced. Obviously they did not know what they were doing. The manager is not in (naturally) so there is no one to talk to. She should at the very least get her money back from the flush. We will continue to pursue this on a local level, but I thought we should put the warning out there for other potential customers.

Jiffy Lube stipped oil plug caused severe leagage

On July 10th used a $19.95 oil change special coupon and I had my oil changed in 2006 Honda Pilot by Jiffy Lube 862 which is owned by the Enitor Group, LLC. Prior to service I did not have an oil leak. In the course of service I was notified that my break reservoir lid was not on tight. They said I could have air in the lines and made me concerened that I could have a problem. Since I had the breaks done recently (by Brakes Plus) I thanked them and said I would take it back to them, .

Ironically what the Jiffy Lube service person failed to tell me was that there was a problem with the oil plug/. After they finished the work I was still not made aware of a problem;. The pink service invoice they provided me did not have any notes in the service comments area what so ever!. The next morning whjen I went out to my car, I had a 3ft oil leak in my drive way". I called the store and spoke with an assistant manager named Nick/.

I took my SUV back down and Nick then told me the oil plug was stripped and blamed it on the previous service center, . Then he showed me their work order neatly printed out with notes in the Service comments that the "Drain Plug Stripped PTS". Then I showed them my copy. Mine had the information pushed up all the way into the service checklist section which I didn't see. So to recap- they never mentioned the plug problem and tried to hid the fact in the invoice notes. Pretty clever I'd say. Nick offered to try and tighten the bolt but it still leaked. Since the manager was not there I would have to come back on Friday

So first thing Friday I went in to see the manager Nate. I asked why I had not been made aware of this before they finished the work. All the service centers I've discussed with this said their policy would have been to stop. Secondly they all also said that the likely hood of it not leaking sooner was highly unlikely. The fact that the previous oil change was completed 9 months and 5000 miles earlier leads you to think so. He apologized for not making me aware of it but refused to accept any blame or provide any retribution.

I then took the car up to Brakes Plus and tried to have the pan retapped for $80 but unfortunately it still leads. So now I have to have the pan replaced. I've had three bids so far ranging from $700 - $1000.

So my $19.95 oil change is now going to cost me...ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!?!?!?

Jiffy Lube stripped my ignition

On Saturday, May 4th I was in Memphis TN to attend the Beale Street Music Festival. I pulled into a Jiffy Lube because my oil light had flashed on the previous night when I arrived into town and I was about due for a change. Other than that my car was good working order and although it is a 2002 it has less than 75, 000 miles on it. I drive a VW Golf. A 5 speed. Yes, you have to press the clutch in to start the engine.

Less than 15 minutes after the young service tech asked me to park the car for their maintenance tech to pull it into the bay they came to get me in the waiting room. The tech told me he couldn’t start my car. I got in and found the ignition stripped. The key would turn but had no give, everything on the dash was lit up and stayed that way even when the key was removed. Yes, I freaked.

At this point the service staff all begin to ignore me. Even though my car was completely blocking entrance to their first bay and business was getting steady. My boyfriend began trying to get information regarding contacting the franchise owner while I began calling ignition specialist that might possibly be open on a Saturday. Eventually I ended up having my car towed to the VW Dealership Service site and renting a car from Enterprise, which happened to be across the street.
The dealership office manager asked me how my car ended up in the shape it was. He said that it, “looked like someone tried to start it with a screwdriver”. Apparently Jiffy Lube personnel are not trained on VW’s.

The $680 service fee is going up another approximately $100 for some electrical module that was damaged inside. I haven’t seen the tow bill yet. I paid $95 to rent a car for the remainder of my holiday weekend but am still in a rental car at $30 a day while VW waits to receive the electrical component that was damaged inside the cylinder.

I’ll have to return to Memphis to return the rental and retrieve my vehicle… so the cost have not stopped adding up.
When I have a final tally I will also have my attorney draft a letter seeking compensation for my losses along with their fees and court costs. Small claims court here we come.

Jiffy Lube Negligence

I purchased a used car. Before buying it I had a pre-purchase inspection done and no engine issues were found. The next morning I took to Jiffy Lube for an oil change.

The technician forgot to replace the oil cap after completing the oil change. I drove about 30 miles on the highway when my car died.

I towed the car to a mechanic who said the engine had failed because the oil had splattered all over the engine because the oil cap was missing. I towed the car to the seller's location and filed a claim with Jiffy Lube.

I was assured that it would be handled in a professional manner and that Jiffy Lube would take the car to their mechanic to be diagnosed.

Jiffy Lube had a mechanic look at the car and said they could not determine the cause of the engine failure. They instructed the seller to break down the engine so they might be able to diagnose the problem. The seller, who was acting in a professional manner, complied.

Jiffy Lube came back and said they still could not determine the cause and instructed the seller to disassemble the engine further. The seller, who was acting in a professional manner, complied. Jiffy Lube came back and said they still couldn't determine the cause and requested further disassembly. The seller, who was acting in a professional manner, complied.

Jiffy Lube came back and said they still couldn't determine the cause and requested further disassembly. The seller finally protested to me that he couldn't continue to have his mechanic do work for Jiffy Lube when his mechanic and and independent mechanic both concluded that the cause of the engine failure was due to Jiffy Lube's error.

My father told Jiffy Lube they could take the car and do whatever additional research was needed. Jiffy Lube refused to do any additional research and diagnosis and denied our claim. They said we would have to sue them for restitution and that they would fight us in court.

Jiffy Lube clearly will not take responsibility for the negligence of their employee.

Jiffy Lube oil change

Took my older Dodge truck in to have an oil change, told them that is all I wanted and needed. After waiting an hour for them to have my truck serviced they called me in and informed me that I needed a new belt, (I had just changed it the weekend before) then they told me I needed new spark plugs (Again just replaced those and the wires the weekend prior) . When I was called out next it was because my truck didn't want to start, I had to take a screw driver and set my idle so it would start, then I had to fiddle with it just so it would stay running.
I believe these 'experts' were trying to scam me because I am a female and they most likely believed I wouldn't know the difference between what was already in there and what they wanted to sell me. I also believe they tried to Brake my truck so they could charge me extra to fix my truck. Little did they know this young lady knows her way around engines; she just doesn't like to change oil.

I have been taking my car to get Signature Service oil changes for some time. I started doing so because it was cheaper that the Nissan dealer. Now, it's not the case. The prices have gone up.
The last several times I have to ADD oil inbetween my 3, 000 mile service. My car makes a rattling sound...like a "clacking" noise and that is how I know it's low. The oil light doesn't come on, but the dipstick reads WAY low. My car is a 2005 Maxima. It has no detectible oil leaks whatsoever. And when I used to take it to the dealer, I didn't have this problem...which leads me to believe that they don't add very much oil when they do an oil change. I just had to add a quart yesterday, and I only have 1, 740 miles on my recent oil change...It shouldn't need oil yet!

Jiffy Lube extreme labor charges

Went in for an oil change...a tad high at $45.00, but okay with me. They found a serpentine belt in the engine that had wear cracks. I agreed it needed replaced. Took about eight minutes to change...bill for changing the belt...$119.00. Came home and checked price of belt online and most go for around $40.00...so I was charged around $80.00 labor for an eight minute job. Not Good. Recommendation: Stay away from Jiffy Lube...should have taken the time and went to Walmarts.

Jiffy Lube racism & poor car service

Jiffy lube in augusta, ga @ 1642 walton way, & wrightsboro rd in augusta, ga., are the worst jiffy lube branches; cheating customers by overcharging them for oil changes, and refusing to service african-americans, & behaving unprofessional or rude to loyal customers! The staff often has huge employee turnovers, because they practice job discrimination, firing & hiring the wrong employees, people who has felonies, and are lazy, not properly checking customers' cars, and neglecting to service the vehicles the way they should, & sometimes lying to customers about tire pressure, or motor oil "top offs".. I stopped doing business with these clowns, & I highy recommend to others to do the same!

Jiffy Lube $577 a/c damages complaint - no response

I went in for a routine oil change but then was informed I needed more work. My A/C worked fine, but I was told it would cost $150+ for A/C service because I was "low on freon" so I went immediately to Goodyear, eight blocks away, for a second opinion. (Recently, I had had my A/C repaired there.)The Goodyear mechanic put in writing that the A/C had been "tampered" with. I brought the $577 A/C repair bill from Goodyear to Jiffy Lube the next day, 9/17/12, spoke with John Leon, the manager "for the day, " (the regular manager, Manny Martinez, could not be reached by phone [protected]) and then the regional manager, Jose Velasquez, by phone [protected]. "Day" Manager Leon showed me how a tube was connected to my A/C (see attached pictures), but he and the regional manager denied damaging my A/C. After watching John Leon FAX three documents: 1) the Jiffy Lube receipt; 2) the Goodyear receipt; 3) Goodyear mechanic's statement to the Regional Manager Velasquez, I was told by Velasquez that I would be contacted once he reviewed the store video (recorded in South Carolina)! Yes, the local store has a camera, but the recording is done in the SC main office! To date, no one has contacted me. There are thousands of complaints nationally about the company and two others just for this store.

Blacks, often firing them for little to no reasons!), some of the mechanics use racial slurs, and the technicians are not mechanically certified to repair cars, often messing up your car, making the problem worse, and causing more damage, bad customer service & late repairing vehicles, staff verbally abusing customers with insults, the managers & employees are a bunch of idiots and don't last long there (High turnover due to poor job performances & incompetence), the discrict managers often turn a blind eye to the negligence done by many of their branches - but rather than change their ways; they continue to pay out for lawsuits filed by mistreated customers, the mechanics usually mess up the work that they do, causing many customers to come back in to get the work done over again and again; which sometimes they never get it done right. Sometimes over charging minority customers for standard oil changes - ripping them off. And sometimes they deliberately damage customers' vehicles while being serviced at jiffy lube, and sometimes refusing to pay for the damages done to customers' vehicles while doing oil changes! If you love your car, I wouldn't recommend sending it to jiffy lube in aiken, sc & augusta, ga - lousy mechanics & poor customer service (They have many locations & lawsuits filed against them for racism to damage to property)...

Jiffy Lube racism & incompetent customer service

"don't do business with any - jiffy lubes'!" local news reports that : an augusta man suing jiffy lube over racial discrimination, and poor customer service...
A richmond county man is suing jiffy lube, its georgia-based parent company, and an church pastor is alleging that an augusta jiffy lube manager made racist comments and that he was refusing to give him car service, but had no problem, attending to white customers, and telling the pastor to get car service somewhere else!?!... The church pastor promptly informed him that; he was not going to do business with jiffy lube again!

Jiffy Lube disrespectful employee

I came in at 6:50pm on Friday, April 20, 2012 to get an oil change. The first employee that greeted me was very nice and friendly. My car was pulled in the bay area. My car sat until 7:00pm (which was also closing time). The manager ask some one to service my vehicle. Another employee by the name of William came into the waiting area were I was sitting and starting cursing and throwing things around in the lobby area. He slammed the restrooms door and was looking at me with a very disturbing look. I am very displeased with the behavior of this individual that is suppose to be providing customer service in a professional manner.

Jiffy Lube blatant missrepresentation, lying, damaging vehicle

Wife went in for an oil change, explained that the 98 jimmy had recently been serviced, was told that the vehicle was in danger of failure, manufacturer recommended: radiator flush, engine flush, trans. Flush, injector cleaning, etc. She was intimidated and agreed. All these recommendations are lies. General motors explicitely recommends that you do not flush the engine as particles of gunk may dislodge and clog the oil pick up, the machines used by jiffy lube for flushing the radiator might damage the cooling system, the machine used by jiffy lube to clean out the transmission might damage the transmission, the chemicals used to clean the injectors might damage the injectors. All these procedures are advised against and especially by jiffy lube. She left $322 poorer for a $40 oil change. The car did not make it home without losing most of the coolant as jiffy lube blew out the water pump-$340 for my reputable mechanic to replace-the same mechanic my wife referred to who had verified a few months earlier that the trans fluid was ok. Ward huntley, the owner of south lubes reiterated the lies about the 'manufacturers recommendation' through his district manager. I will be spending my anger spreading the gospel, jiffy lube is incompetant and dangerous, they lie and intimidate to sell unnecessary procedures, they do not know enough to touch a car. Take the extra time and find a reputable and licensed mechanic to perform these things. Any ideas and support will be appreciated. These guys must be stopped.

Maybe you shouldn't have sent your wife if she is unable to stick to her guns and say "no."

Jiffy Lube Cost

My father brought his car to Jiffy Lube in Arnold, Maryland for an oil change that would normally cost $40, but ended up paying $132.80 instead. He has been going to the Jiffy Lube in other locations (Baltimore & Glen Burnie) and had no problems with getting his oil changes.
During his first visit at this Arnold location, he went with his granddaughter to translate for him since he speaks very limited English. The technician told his granddaughter that if he did not get the Engine Flush and Engine Treatment, the car will break down. My father told the technician twice that he wanted “engine oil change only.” The technician did not listen to him and told the granddaughter that there is a lot wrong with the car. The granddaughter, afraid that the car will breakdown, gave the technician the go-ahead on their recommendation to get the engine flushed. The Arnold location took advantage of two naïve people: a child who is incapable of making a mechanical decision and an elder that spoke very limited English.
I called the Arnold location Manager Greg Galloway to get refunded. However, he refused – he stated that my father agreed to pay the amount. My father did not agree to additional services but only to get a $40 oil change. My father paid because the technician demanded him to pay the amount. My father did not sign the “Authorized & Received By” line on pink form (I have a copy of the receipt). The Manager said he was not authorized to provide a refund and that I needed to call his General Manager Kirby Carmichael. I asked when the GM is at the location and was told that he does not know his schedule and that I can call and try to reach him.
Overall, I am very dissatisfied with the service at Jiffy Lube. I have always been dissatisfied with the service but continued to get oil changes there for the convenience, and always refuse the “bait and switch” services. I have been going to Jiffy Lube for 20 years. My whole family gets our oil changes at Jiffy Lube, four cars every three months. But I will not step into another Jiffy Lube ever again unless my father gets a refund. He went in for a $40 service, and paid $132.80 instead.

Jiffy Lube service quality

There is nothing jiffy about Jiffy Lube. I took a car in to be serviced, walked across the street to have lunch, and went back to find that my car had not been serviced. In fact, a car had been moved in front of mine in the queue. In the past, I've had minor problems, such as some kind of connector being left off and full services not being performed, but this is really the last straw.

Disregard previous comment, for some reason was thinking of Les Schwab. As for Jiffy Lube, if you aren't at your car when they're ready for you, then it's no suprise they pulled someone in ahead of you. How are they supposed to know what you want and confirm your account history (if applicable) with them.

That really depends on whether or not you were there with an appointment or just as a walk in. If you were a walk in, then remember that people that have appointments have priority. If you had an appointment then its possible that the other car had one as well (prior to you) and was running late. There's a lot to consider when it comes to prioritization at Jiffy Lube. Ultimately, make sure you have plenty of spare time cause you'll likely be there a while (appointment or not).

Jiffy Lube Racism

on 8/20/11 Manager- Josh at the Jiffy Lube Wrightsboro Rd, Augusta, GA used racial slurs and refused repair service that he promised. Other employees stated that he was way out of line, and that I was a valued customer, he stated that he didn't want busniess from **ggers, and that I should go somewhere else to get car oil changed... This i only one of many complaints and bad business practices ffrom this crappy company, they have been actively mistreating valued customers for years. I would not recommend any customers to them ever again... Here's another complaint: A Cook County man is suing Jiffy Lube, its Texas-based parent company, and an Oak Brook Jiffy Lube manager, alleging the manager made racist comments and that he was transferred to another location when he complained. Floyd Woodfork filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court Thursday against Joseph Gilardi and Irving, Texas-based Heartland Automotive Services, claiming Gilardi, manager of the Oak Brook Jiffy Lube, made racist comments and sent lewd racist and anti-Semitic photos on Woodfork’s cell phone. At Jiffy Lube on December 25, 2010 Gilardi sent a photo of a female body part with the face of a monkey with a caption that read “This is what happens when white girls sleeps with black guys.” On December 22, 2010 Gilardi sent another photo of a female body part “wearing clothing and hairstyle common to Hasidic Judasim, ” the suit said. The suit goes on to say that Gilardi sent other lewd messages and photos that week and that on May 31 2011 he told Woodfork “You are in N—er Mode and you should just punch out and go home, ” after Woodfork complained about a certain work process. The worst Jiffy Lube Business & the most Racist- is in South Carolina... Ref: http://racismdaily.com/2011/08/05/illinois-man-sues-jiffy-lube-over-racist-anti-semitic-photos/
