As an ex-employee for Jeff Hiatt, I couldn't believe how shady this company operated. This whole Orange Oil thing is a complete joke. The chemical is as effective as using regular WD-40 oil. Don't believe me, try it! Having worked for several other termite companies in the past I was so shocked to see how poorly Jeff Hiatt handles customer service. As an employee, I was continuously encouraged by supervisors to ignore any customer complaints that may occur due to poor assistance. There were even a number of times when me and other employees were told to pose and exaggerate the amount of termite infestation. Even when there were non active. Perfect example; when conducting a regular service call at a particular home, I was having extreme difficulties locating the termite infested areas which were noted on the report. When I called the inspector who was responsible for writing the report, he instructed me to go ahead and perform the service anyway, ultimately still charging the client. On many occasions, I couldn't believe the outrageous prices that were charged for any type of service. Also, I couldn't help but notice that this would occur more with senor citizens. Like, charging an 89 year-old man $1, 000.00 for replacing about 25 feet of 2x4 facial which did not need replacement. I can go on and on with the number of scams this company. Also, be advised; Jeff Hiatt is known to send out wanna-be technicians who are instructed to apply chemical without being certified. In other words, with no applicant license. Imagine a person coming to your home to apply chemical which he himself has no complete knowlege of.
Jeff Hiatt does not only screw over their clients but they disregard their own employees as well. Me and three other gentlemen were hired by Jeff Hiatt as full-time carpenters. This was more so an experiment for they have never established a Wood Department before. In our monthly meetings, they would commend us for the good progress which we were making. Then, in early December, about two weeks before Christmas, Jeff Hiatt decided to terminate the Wood Department after only four months. Fired us with no real legitimately reason. No severs pay or anything what so ever. Just handed us our last checks and said "good bye!" They didn't care about me or my family, going into Christmas.
Overall, I would not reccomend anyone to call Jeff Hiatt Inc. for any type of service. They will lie, disregard take your money and leave. Orange Oil is NOT effective. IT DOSE NOT WORK! If you don't believe me, see for yourself. Don't say I didn't warn you...
