No matter who you are, where you are. No matter how desperate you are for a vehicle. Never, do not, don't look at, don't even think about getting a vehicle from jd byrider. Here is my experience

I'm 26 years old and this is the very first car I brought. I had to my knowledge no credit, etc.

So I went to jd byriders in glen burnie, md on april 4, 2009. First of all, their car selection is extremely limited. They try to stick you in the vehicle that they want you to have.

In my case, my salesman told me that my car had new tires, which when I left there and showed the car to my uncle it turned out that all of the 4 tires were different in brand and name and one of the tires had no tread.

Next, the windows when you roll them up all the way, they make a noise like they are going to come right out of the socket.

There was no window cleaner in the holder under the hood, so I brought some and put it in only to find out that, my window cleaner spray things don't work!

Next the inside piece on my drivers side door keeps coming off.

On the drivers side, there is something that has tore the carpet and it is sticking out by where you rest your other foot while you are driving.

The backseat is not secured down and theres nothing to secure it down with, they just took the seat foam or whatever they use for seats, covered it and sat it on the back where the back seat is.

They gave me a carfax on the vehicle said that it doesn't leak has never been in an accident, etc. Fact: it rained two days after I got the car, there is a leak on the front passenger side that causes the floor to get wet, and there is a leak in the trunk from the tubing.

Also, when you accelerate in the car from 20-50 there is literally and physically a vibration in the acceleration foot pedal.

I hadn't had the car for 2 days when all of this happend. How much of it is covered under my 36, 000 mile or 36 month warrenty. Nothing, nothing, nothing at all.

When I called my salesperson, he told me to call the customer repair number, and blatantly didn't car about any issue that I was having with the car

The manager called me after I gave them a bad review over the phone stating that he wanted me to be happy and that the good thing about all of this was that it could be fixed. Well excuse me, would you be happy if you brought a car and not even 48 hours your car fell apart and you have all of the out of pocket expenses that need to pay for it?

Pricing & financing. - the listed price that they have for the used 2004 ford car with 87890 miles already on it, that I got is $11, 995 after financing, the total I am paying for the car is $18, 649.

Wait, but ur not done yet. Payments. Are not once a month, but a payment comes out of every single one of your paychecks until the vehicle is payed off.

Your payments begin the very next payday that you get following your purchase of the vehicle. You have no grace period. If you are even 1 day late - they will repossess your car.

Now when you make a payment - if you pay by phone, you have an additonal $5 dollar fee, everytime you pay by phone. So that's $5 dollar extra fee, 2 times per month which is $10, 10 x 12 months in a year is $120. 120x the 4 years you'll be paying that car off is an additional $480 simply to make a car payment.

Your payment per paycheck will rounded off be $200. Per pay check.

What's covered under your warrenty - barely anything. Not your cd player, not your transmission, not your sensors, not your hoses, not your componets, not your axle shocks or springs, not your control module, not your gaskets, motor mout, not your catalytic converter, etc none of that.

Papers & signing & closing - I really didn't understand what I was signing when I went through this, but after showing the papers to my uncle, he was sooo furious.

They video tape you signing papers is what they call your closing. You sign saying that you waive your right to take them to court and a hearing. They make you sign a paper saying that you inspected the vehicle, they make you sign a paper saying that you will not relcoate out of state until the vehicle is payed off, that the vehicle cannot be sold, etc.

Here is where they got me, when I signed the document stating : "I understand that I have been provided the opportunityh to have the vehicle inspected by someone else and to drive and inspect the vehicle myself. I am not relying on any representations or oral statments of employees or agents of j. D byrider in marking my decision to purchase the vehicle.".

I can't trade the car in, I can't sell it, and they aren't going to fix it. So i'm stuck.

Lastly my cousin checked the kelly blue book value for the car, and it is under $3000.

Don't go to j. D byriders. You'll get a junk car, and you'll lose your money, and they'll screw up your bank account like they did mine and then tell you to work it out with your bank.

Including their cnac financers - when I called the manager about them screwing up my bank account from taking payments out automatically, he didn't care, infact he transeferred me to someone else!

Don't buy from j. D byrider its a scam and a rip off.

I READ AND SEE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS PERTAINING TO JD BYRIDER. MY STORY MY EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT. WHEN I WAS DOWN THEY WERE THERE. I WENT IN ON A SATURDAY OF ALL DAYS AND DROVE OUT 2 1/2 HOURS LATER WITH WHAT HAS PROVEN TO BE A DEPENDABLE CAR. I'VE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOE 3 1/2 YEARS WITH OUT ANY PROBLEMS . NOT ONE! YES THERE WAS A SMALL ANTI FREEZE LEAK WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR AND IF WAS FIXED IMMEDIATELY. SO FAR I HAVE 50K MILES ON THIS CAR AND THE FACT THAT I'VE PAID EVERY MONTH ON TIME MY NEXT CAR'S INTEREST RATE I FULLY EXPECT TO WHERE I THINK IT SHOULD BE. FACE IT IF I HAD GREAT CREDIT 3 1/2 YEARS AGO I WOULD NOT HAVE BROUGHT A CAR IN THE GLEN BURNIE MARYLAND LOCATION BUT I DIDN'T. I GOT A QUANTITY CAR RECEIVE QUALITY SERVICE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THE GLEN BURNIE MARYLAND LOCATION TO MY CLOSET FAMILY MEMBER AND FRIENDS.

I WENT TO JDBUYRIDER OF DUNDALK YESTERDAY 7-7-2014. The week before I did my app and was told I needed $750 for the down payment. Got the $750 went back talked to the "credit counselors" and was offered to test drive a vehicle. I was never given a choice of which vehicles were in my budget. They simply said you can test drive this a 2002 Mercury Sable. Admittedly, I was desperate because my job is not on the bus line but Im not crazy. Yeah my credit has flaws but who's doesn't? So anyway I asked the salesman several times for the price of the vehicle. I was never given an answer only told that they were working on the numbers. So after several and I mean several meeting with "credit counselors" I was told to get insurance. I went online and purchased a policy. When I finally sat down and was presented with the "numbers" the price was $19, 672.14! For a 2002? I was told I was paying for the program... LIES. So I asked if this vehicle breaks down and it takes three weeks to fix it does this program provide alternate transportation? NO. CHECHEKCHECKED THE KELLEY VALUE OF THE CAR AND IT WAS $2056 IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WHICH THIS CAR WAS NOT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I BAILED OUT. J DBUYRIDER PREYS OONON WWHAT THEY THINK ARE THE DUMB AND DESPERATE. I FORGOT TO SAY THAT MY DOWN PAYMENT WENT FROM $75050 TO $1250... LOL. II FOUND ME A CAR AT A REASONABLE PRICE WITH A GOOD WARRANTY AT KESWICK AUTO. AND WHILE TTHEY FIX YOUR VVEHICLE THEY GIVE YOU A LOANER.

I bought my vehicle at JD Byrider in hopes that I would be able to get back and forth to work, in a reliable vehicle. On Nov. 10, 2012 I went in to trade my 1994 Nissan Pathfinder in, the floor melted out. Yes, they traded it for 2002 Ford Explorer; mind you, it was a stick shift( what I didn't want) but that was the only vehicle I qualified for. The cost was astronomical in price, $11, 775.70 after finance charges $18, 477.11 including the trade in value of $1, 350 for the Pathfinder. Ever since I had the vehicle its been nothing but problems, from screws falling from anywhere and everywhere to clutch, flywheel, transmission, emergency brake, ect. I said all this to say I am paying additional monies for something that should have never happened to a vehicle for the amount of money that I am paying for. Causing me to lose my part-time job and full time job; and no one is saying nothing about fixing the truck all they want is payment. My truck has been in the shop twice in three weeks, the most recent being yesterday and they have no answers for me, except when can I pay on the repairs, that has not yet been done. JD Byrider is not good, no matter how they help you fix your credit, they screw you in the long run. TRUST AND BELIEVE DO NOT GO THERE!

While I will agree that JD Byrider is the bottom of the barrel, I was able to pick the car I wanted, a 2003 Chevy Minivan. They told me to pick a different car, but I refused and stated the mini-van or nothing. It worked out fine and I had the van for 5 years. The transmission broke down 5, 000 miles before my warranty was up, guess what I paid? $60 for the rental car, that's it. While I will admit it's not the best dealership/financing/repair process, it got my family through a tough time where we had no where else to turn for a vehicle.

Good luck to you.

I've seen this time and time again! I will never recommend them again! If they give you any warranty at all, they milk getting it in until it's out of warranty and then you pay, not them! They charge two to three times what the car is worth and Doctor it up just enough to getting to roll onto the lot until they say" Come into my webb said the spider to the fly".

OMG! I have definitly heard horror stories about them! Im originally from New York and when I moved to Maryland my husband and I bought a car. When I was looking he told me not to even look there cause of all the horrible rumors in the area. I really feel for you! escpecially in times like these! Like I said Im from New York, so Im not too familiar with Maryland State laws yet, however, I would contact the Maryland Better Business Buearo! Let them know!-trust me it works! (Im a big fighter when it comes to this type of stuff!) Also, look up local LEMON LAWS. You did sign a contract but a Lemon Law is still a lemon law, whether you were coherced into a contract or not. Also there is a WONDERFUL site online that gives FREE illegal advice! AVVO.com! Register and post your question. Also, I have a terrific attorney, im not 100% sure he does this type of stuff, but about 99%-Ronald COle on Aquahart Road. Go see him! Tell him Jennifer sent you. Hope this helped! Plus you might also want to research Maryland LOAN SHARK laws. that seems like a HUGE interest rate.

I hate them too! I had bought a car in Columbus, Indiana! This car was really great nothing wrong at all...well about the end of my so called "Warranty" the car started to sound crappy! I moved to Texas and took the car with me and didn't tell them. Hahaha that was funny. They wanted me to tell them first, but I just didn't see no reason to do that since I was paying my dues on the car. To make a long story short, they took money right out of my bank account, even when I called to make the payment by other means, so I was paying 2 car payments. This only happened one time. So when I came back up to Indiana, I took the car to them, told them they are to lose my bank account number since I cancelled it and that was it.

They sent me a letter about 2 weeks later saying they were going to sell the car, and I had to pay the rest of the car note if they did not sell it for the amount I had owed, or if the car sold for over the amount I owed they will pay that to me... Well...I bet they sold that car to someone else for over 18, 000 like they did you, and got their money back. I only had 3, 000 left to pay on the car, but ### them...they are the worst sales company I have ever had to deal with and taking money out of your account is un-called for.

Advice: I would return the car to them, change all your bank information like account numbers or anything. Also, they will try to sell the car to someone else. Save the money that you would have had a payment each week on that crappy car and spend it on something better for you. I do recommend a dealership of USED cars. They are cheaper and you get the car for BlueBook value.

First I do believe that you need to learn to spell before you ever write a comment and post it where people will read it, I don't think that I have ever BROUGHT a car from anyone...###! Second, your uncle is not a viable choice for someone to bring a car to and see if its 100% your buying a USED CAR! Third, I bet the reason that you went to J.D. Byrider is because your credit sucks take care of your bills and maybe you wouldnt have that problem! Finally, What kind of an IDIOT cant look at the tires before he buys it, I mean seriously are you really stupid? I bought a car form the J.D. Byrider in Des Moines, IA and it is Amazing I have never had a problem with it, and it has always run the staff was amazing and Jeff Lee knows What he is doing your just an idiot punk kid who is so ungrateful that you should bury yourself in a hole and cry.

So let us get this right. Its their fault you didnt test drive the car, you didnt look at the tires, you didnt inspect the car at all. You didnt look up the bluebook before YOU decided to accept the price.

You clearly didnt read the contract before signing. When you signed the contract you agreed to all the terms and conditions. You agreed to the financing and the fees. You agreed to them taking the payment starting with the very first paycheck. You agreed to not being able to sell or trade in the car on another. You agreed to having limited or no warranty.

They sold a junk car to a to a sucker. Thats a moral choice they make to sell cars. Other than that, they did nothing wrong. When you buy something, anything, its YOUR responsibility to know what you are buying and what youre signing. NEVER TALK A SALESMAN'S WORD FOR ANYTHING! He will tell you anything you want to hear to make that sale. Guaranteed.

You did this to yourself. A very expensive lesson to learn. Next time, may I suggest you take your uncle or friend along with you?
