On jan 2, 2017 at 2:30 pm I legally parked my car at the the plaza on westheimer in a designated visitor parking space. I was there to assist my son who has a severe back injury and requires help. When I returned to my vehicle at 5:00 pm my car had disappeared. I assumed that it had been stolen but my son advised that his truck had been recently towed even though he had a parking sticker on his vehicle. He called the tow company number that is posted nearby in the residence parking area and we discovered that my car had in fact been towed. When we went to retrieve the vehicle there was a family at the window trying to retrieve their car and they had been there two days in a row and had been unable to get their car. They had a situation similar to mine in that they were visiting friends at an apartment complex and were illegally towed. They left without their vehicle and would have to return the next day for the third day. Unfortunately the lady had a serious illness and doctors had recently advised her that she only had a few weeks to live. Can something be done about these illegal towing? Completely Agree and want to help Ron since tenants at another property owned by these slumlords are about to face the same nightmare. Excel Residential Services, Inc. the management company for The Plaza was notified by me with proof that it is illegal to Tow for "Head In Parking Only" which is a State Law but they are moving forward because they clearly have a Tow Scam in Progress. Ron you should fight this illegal tow by contacting TDLR in Austin to file a complaint they will give you instructions as to how you can file for a Tow Hearing and make these Scam Artist and Slumlords PAY! My heart truly goes out to you and your son because Tenants at "The Park at Country Place" will see J C Towing up close and personal as Towing starts March 31st the irony a day before rent is due. Tenants met with a J C Towing employee on Friday in the Leasing Office as they demanded copies of Tenants current car insurance in exchange for a permit. I did not sign a lease with the tow company refused to give a copy of my insurance and was denied a permit. This will be an ongoing issue for tenants at properties managed by Excel Residential Services, Inc. You can also contact Texas Towing Compliance for more details.
