I would like to inform you all about the poor service provided by Jack Focus Maid Agency - Katong Branch.
Within the span of 3 months, I've received poor and probably "dishonest" service at multiple instances.
a. We took a maid, which was already at the agency. The agency informed that "the previous employer went overseas and hence returned the maid". Later through the maid we came to know that this is not true.
b. The maid's attitude was not good, so we asked for a replacement. We selected a maid & were given 1 month timeline. After 1 month, when we enquired, the maid was already released to someone else. Miscommunication was given as the reason.
c. They asked to select another maid, who has a ready passport. Then the maid can come in 2-3 weeks. We did the same. Only after 2 weeks, they confirmed the arrival date. On arrival date, they said maid has arrived and we can come for collection. One day before collection date, they said the maid is still in Indonesia and they would let us know the arrival date next week.
The maid agency is run very unprofessionaly. Once they take your money, you either forgo your money or keep suffering. We thought "Jack Neo's" name would provide good service.. Alas, not true!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Not even poor service, their Myanmar maid was train to go on strike after 2nd month to be transfer out, so that Myanmar agent can earn their 4 month loan, jack focus earn another 2 month loan and the maid get to choose their employer after the came to Singapore, so when you do interview, they have a script to follow and lies to you that every thing they can. if you ask about take care of elderly, the maid is train to say i have experience take care of my elderly father or elderly grandparent, if you ask about experience in taking care of children, they will say i take care of my daughter or my nephew, if you are can you cook, they will answer, yes, i can, what can you cook, they will say i can cook Myanmar food, like fried noodle, fried rice, soup , porridge and i willing to learn but when they arrived in Singapore, when you teach, next day they will reply, i forget, i dont know, started not to do housework, cooking, only eat and sleep. super lazy n dirty, they will do all sort of stuff to make you gp crazy and return back to agency.
Agency is very very happy, as they can earn another agency fee from new employer and earn another 2 month maid loan from maid, this has been repeated again and again, employer keep sufferings.
Why is mom not taking any action... agent is dishonest .. employer is been tied down by contract cos the 6 month maid loan will be forfeit.
The problem maid name is Khin Mar Aye. WP : [protected] Passport Number : MF 793001. whoever will be her next employer, good luck...
Jack focus at bukit timah has the highest rate of transfer, please do not get new maid from jack focus as the new maid will be mixed with the rejected/transfer maid for 2 night and learn many stuff not to work ,not to cook, disobey employer with attitude, will drive you crazy that you will complaint to agency, they will trick you by saying send maid for counselling session, but each session the maid turn to worse, my last trauma issued was the maid cry and squat one corner as if you have abuse her, 2nd trick will used her head to knock her head on the wall as if you have abuse her, 3rd , she will threaten you she will jump if you don't transfer her, for employer like me, first take a video of her action or behavior , if you have cctv, report to police and lodge a police case and call mom to have a record in mom system so that she will not be able to transfer to another employer and earn extra agency fee. cos agent is very happy that maid rejected or transfer to earn extra money, for me case, my first Myanmar maid was very dirty, lazy, eat alot refused to do housework and cooking, in the end i rejected her and have paid another $800 for another new maid, within a week, this maid as takeb by another employer and agency earn 2k.
the 2nd maid arrived 1 mth later , this maid was even worse, attitude, want everything like bed sheet, t-shirt to be new, refused to eat food that doesn't suit her taste. threaten to die if you dont transfer her. i report to mom, mom advised is this maid cannot be transfer but to send back to agency to be send back to myanmar, this agents still want to sell her to 2nd employer, when i warn them that mom say she has mental issued. she has to be send back myanmar, agent made me to sign for maid lodging n accomodatin $20, still delay sending her back.
NEVER NEVER get your MAID from JACK FOCUS , or you will regret forever. Maid from myanmar doesnt know a single english, a few vocabury... doesnt know how to cook, do housework, everyday you need to repeated to tell get what to do.
I have hire 2 fresh new Myanmar maid, when interview, everything sure answer yes , can can. their biodata all are fake, stated they have working experience as domestic help, in fact no experience, cant understand English and Chinese. Yet stubborn, attitude problem, agency is very happy that the maid is rejected, the next moment the maid is assign to 2nd employer with a higher agency so call transfer agency, processing and application fee is high, low quality maid that do cook as her liking. Money Pay and pay and yet still didn't get quality maid, pls do not consider jack focus. you will face with full of frustration and spend lot of money. Their maid has attitude problem, no training on household to cooking.

This Post is purely for the benefit of Singapore Maid Employers. I have engaged Philippines, Indonesian and Myanmar maid for more than 12-years now with several different Maid Agency in the past.
Per our assessment, Jack Focus and its only Myanmar maid that we got were the worst we ever gotten and experienced. I will recount my experiences with Jack Focus first and then followed by my Myanmar Maid that I gotten from them.
Please stay away from Jack Focus at all cost due to reasons stated below.
a) Unapproachable and lousy services from the moment you signed-up with them. Ivin Chee Pei Li served at Jack Focus Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. When I walked-in, her services were excellent up to the point that she even got your chair pulled-in for you when you sat down. BUT her Excellent Service ended the moment you paid and signed-up replaced by a Rich Girl's attitude: unapproachable, sarcastic and you felt that Ivin was now your customer that you have to serve. Overall experience is like you get Conned by her initial Excellent Service that did not follow-through.
b) Once you have signed-up, their standard way-out to not service you is that they will say they are currently very busy. In fact, they are too busy all the time to serve you after you have signed-up.
c) Do NOT be fooled by Jack Focus unlimited 1-year maid-replacement cause they will only send you at most 2 bio-data for you to choose. If you find these 2 bio-data incompatible, they will NOT get back to you ever again. When you chased them, they said that they have no new bio-data and they have Very Limited maids for selection. What is the use of Unlimited 1-Year Replacement if you have only 2 incompatible bio-data? Another feeling of getting Conned!
d) Jack Focus is the MOST Pro-Maid Agency that I have ever encountered based on their policies below, which their staff (Lian Choo) has told me clearly:
- No matter how lousy your maid is, the Employer has NO RIGHT to decide to send your maid home or to let her find a new employees. Instead, the Employer has to bring the maid to Jack Focus for an interview so that the maid can decide if she want to go fly home or find new employees. If the maid wants to fly home, then the Employer must purchase her air-ticket and send her to airport. If the maid wants to find new employer, Employers must pay up to 1-months of $15 lodging per day on top of maid levy so that maid can stay in Jack Focus looking for new Employer.
- If Employer wants to qualify for Unlimited 1-Year Maid Replacement, Employer must return the maid for a 1 to 1 exchange.
Note: Most maid would NOT want to fly home and that means, Jack Focus will have a lot of these lousy Maids that failed to complete even 1-year (not to mention 2-years of maid contract) to push-out to new Employers who is looking for new maid or replacement maid. So ask yourself if Jack Focus will be honest to say that these Transferred Maid has problems and whether Jack Focus will try their best to push-out these Transferred Maid?
Silly Jack Focus did NOT realized that they cannot keep their old customer base and neither can they get new customers cause Jack Focus really thought that their Maid is their Customers!
Outcome: After receiving only 2 lousy replacement bio-data and no news for close to 2-months because Jack Focus has no Replacement Maid bio-data and that they are too busy to serve you, I have flown the maid back to Myanmar and I have gone to Best Home in Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. Best Home staff was friend and their service level maintained even after you signed-up. Also Best Home's policy is Employer friendly: Employer gets to choose if they want to fly the maid home or let the maid looks for a new Employer. Also Employer need NOT return old maid to get a new Maid Replacement from Best Home! As such, Best Home did not have a lot of Transferred Maid sitting around unlike Jack Focus and Best Home Transferred Maids are of higher quality than that of Jack Focus since Employers would have flown their lousy maid home for sure. At the end, I lost 3-months of our so called "Unlimited 1-Year Replacement" from Jack Focus but we are Very Happy with our new Indonesian maid from Best Home... That to us is a BIG WIN!
Myanmar Maid from Jack Focus
a) Interviewing Myanmar Maid using Skype at Jack Focus to judge their Basic English is totally useless because their Myanmar Agent in Myanmar (Miss Crystal) is spoon-feeding these Myanmar maids English answers from the side as you asked the questions. You can hear it in low voices in the Skype and at the end, you still get Myanmar Maid that hardly know any English despite the interviews.
b) Unlike Indonesian Maids which have to undergo 40-days of minimum Maid Training in Indonesia by Indonesian laws, almost all Myanmar Maids are hardly trained at all and there is no Myanmar laws for mandatory trainings. Probably, Myanmar maids only trained by their mum and dad if they bother to teach...
c) The Myanmar maid that we gotten from Jack Focus won our Worst Maid Ever Award. Her recipe for failure is her lower-level of intelligence coupled with stubbornness, always figuring how to cut corners and her bad temper. Can you imagine your maid shouted and quarreled with your mum and employers? Can you imagine your maid thrown chair on the ground when she quarrel with you and scolding you in Myanmar Language? Can you imagine her personal hygiene when she never washed her bed-sheet and blanket from day one with us and her personal shirts and pants were blackish even after wash? Can you imagine your Maid's level of sotongness that she forgotten to serve you soup everyday despite there are soup on the daily menu? Even on her last day before flight, she refused to sign but wanted to collect her salary, which gave a very last minute headaches!
This maid truly created the darkest moment of our lives and we were very glad to fly her home to Myanmar when she said she wanted to go home, which save other Singaporean Employers their ultimate pains. It is like hiring an Expensive Monster from Jack Focus in the fold of our Happy Home.
Yes i do agreed with you. currently I am suck with the second Myanmar maid, want to eat good food, sleep more, and complain work a lot when she only need to take care of my elderly father, cooking and basic housework. toward the end she has very bad attitude can can even talk back, when you talk to her, she will dig her nose IN front and one day , she knock her head into the wall, to cause self injury and threaten to commit suicide if you did not send her back. When i call mom for advise, is better to send her back to agency, when i send her back, he say she wanted a transfer, jack focus staff wanted to transfer her to another employer, i told her, u can transfer her anymore as she say she will jump if you dont send me home. why are you delaying her request, why do you need another employer to suffer what we are suffering and paying more money for such a quality maid. i wonder why MOM dot take any action on these agency , when maid has mental issused n yet want transfer her to another employer, she might die there.
Yes, Jack Focus is indeed a bad Agency. I had a horrible experience with their maid and their service.
I hired a Philippine transfer maid, started to work a my house on 11 July 2014. . Worked for less than 3 mths and requested to go back Manila. Told me she had the right to go back because her loan is finished! I not allowed. Called Jack Focus for a fair solution. While they simply dragging time and never give any solution. Dragging until more then 1 mth time. The maid could not wait until strike, rejected to work for 3 times! End up, the maid made an un-true maid abused report to MOM. 3 policemen came to my house and investigate! Confirm there were no abused and they left. I was really exhausted by all the troubles and problems the maid created. While all these were the results of her own planning o go back home after loan finished! This was really a horrible experience and causing me still in phobia, dare not even take any replacement maid anymore. Jack Focus simply wash hand while problems arises. Care only in collecting money, either from the customers (employer) or from the maids. Promised to give me insurance refund after 2 weeks of maid's departure date, but now almost 3 weeks and I get nothing! Told me they could not proceed because there were no report from Insurance company! They keep making empty promises, and even told me they could no control on their maid's attitude and behavior! I was really angry and always lost my tempered each time I talk to them over the phone. They never called back as per promised. Each time I am still the one who called them and asked for the answer. Surprisingly they simply forget about my case! To all of you, if you would like to hire a maid, from my own experience, I really advise to avoid Jack Focus! This employment agency allows employer to get a maid that would work for them with no off at all.. if thats the case, as a maid too in exchange of our whole time labour we are expecting that our employers will treat us right.. i mean, treat us with respect too, we need proper foods, enough rest after working 12-13 hours a day without extra pay.. we are not a slave, we are humans and not mutants.. we get tired too like the manager in a big company, we need minute break like those who works iN the offices and we feel stressed like those nurses in the hospitals.. Its not easy being a maid, its hard to practice total patience when our employers really gets in our nerves especially when we get scold in the things that we didnt done and catch all the blames.. What can we do? Sometimes we are the one who will gonna say sorry to let the argument end, we have to swallow our pride and im thankful that pride has no calories and fat free coz if not most of the maids here are very fat.. we dont need to be treated like a princeSs (as what other people say), letting us to use our phones is a big help to kill our homesickness here! Its all about give and take thing between the employer and a maid. Openness and honesty, putting a rules that will benefits in both maids and employer is better...i feel so pity to this indonesian maid from Jack focus that has no off and she cannot transfer even she wants to coz she told me her working permit says she cannot find another employer.. sadly, her boss has no good..after her 8months salary deDuctioN she has no choice but to go home without any money.. well, obviously this agency benefited all.. God Bless this agency!

I truly agree that Jack Focus is a screwed up agency that i have seen so far. The staff in Katong Branch are damn rude and they are only nice before payment. After payment, they are totally a changed chemeleon. Especially, one staff named LiLi. She gets very loud when she feels that she needs to get out of the situation. As a maid employment agency, she should be taking into account the main priorities of their customers rather than the maids interests. She was so concerned and demanded that the maid she introduced to us must take her off days on Sundays and we cannot change that as it has been the maid's practise. There were no kind of flexibility options for employers to consider and this Li Li puts it in a way that if we dun give Sunday offs to maid, we are committing a crime.
We were forced to employ a maid based on Lili's very strong recommendations and once the application was approved, the philipino maid changed her mind and said she dun want to come to work for us, just becos we have told them that my niece (10yrs old) will be staying with us temporarily. And this lili was so cool about it and recommended another maid to us. So both this agency and the maid are bloody crooks. Moreover, Our application was also delayed cos Lili said she forgot to send one form to MOM. What the hell! So much of inconvenience they have caused us but yet behave as if nothing has happened. We have since blacklisted JACK FOCUS and will never recommend this agency to anyone.
Agree! I had the same experience at Katong branch too.Not sure the management got problem, or the staff got problem.Perhaps in their management's eyes, Katong staff is a good staff for them...No customer service at all, but only knows how to get $$$ from customer!
Totally agree. I got a transf maid from them in may 2012 and she wants to go back in feb 2013. The staff LILY is THE WORST customer service staff i have ever encountered. She RUDE, LOUD and totally ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very ill mannered woman. She treats the customers like how she shouts at her maid.
I asked her how much i have to pay for the remaining of the pay of my maid, she just slammed on my phone. Avoid jack focus katong branch at ALL cost unless you want to be shouted at. No wonder they have 3 demerit points from MOM.
Bukit timah jack focus cause me much frustration too. They do not know what are agency for ? They just want $, no service and no follow up and keep coming up with excuses to defend their mistake . They really sucks !
TOTALLY AGREE TO ALL OF THE ABOVE! I had just experienced yesterday though I'm not asking for a new maid. I only requested for them to do a service for a renewal of work permit for my domestic worker. The staff, Lily from katong branch service is so bad. She has no patience at all ! She gave us a 'black' face and a impatient attitude towards us from the time we stepped in as if we had killed her whole family.
We had planned to come to jack focus to look for a new maid as we thought since jack neo is the spokesperson for them, service will not be that bad but to our shock, the service is the worst we've ever received from a maid agency.
I strongly recommend to the fellow people outside, DO NOT EVER OPT FOR JACK FORCUS FOR YOUR MAID AGENCY.

I just made an inquiry with Bukit Timah Branch, Catherine who assisted me sounds good & friendly. After looking through all these comments, I m abit hesitant now to go with Jack Focus. Is it really that bad?
Jack focus staffs are really ill mannered. I have very bad experience with this Agency.
The staffs who was in charge of my maid co-ordination did not do her follow up properly and caused my maid's work permit to be revoked by MOM just 2 months after she has been with us. We were quite satisfied with maid and have never thought of terminating her. However, it was a total shock for us to receive a letter from MOM telling that the permit has been revoked. Upon investigation, I found out that the agency did not submit an important form which the staff had asked me to fill in and they will mail for me. I have checked with government board and the reply was they did not receive any application.
The package costed us around 1k and this is what I had. I had to run between CPF and MOM ask they have very tight deadline for me to re-instate the permit.
When I called up the agency to esquire about this matter and how should I re-instate the permit, the original staff who handed this case was on leave and her colleague who had answered the call was very nervous and SHOUTED at me over the phone. I was not loud (on normal tone only) when I asked what had happened at their end. She was so LOUD and bad mannered that I had to stopped her half way.
I will not hire any maid through this agency anymore.
Totally agree to all. Its the first time I hire a maid and the experience with Jack Focus is really really bad. Our first maid came and went after two weeks saying she misses home and the second one only 2 days also misses home. Would you still want to employ maids from them? We have not ill-treated them, they just have to do normal housework and help look after kids when needed, able to rest and sleep by 10.30pm very night. I dont get to sleep at 10.30pm if my kids are still up. Every change of maid $ is involve so far we have fork out $4.3K and have received bad sevices from them. I requesed for the third replacement quickly without cost as we are not the one who reject and return the maid it has been the maid that does not want to work. They say its impossible and the bio data of other possible maid require that I top to $ again. So I decided to go to other agency. Guess what they refund me: only $2.2k out of the $4.3K. They have deducted $400 for terminating the contract which is not due to us and $450 the monthly wages for a maid that only wants to work for 2 days. All these are bloody unreasonable. Who can we go to to get help with these? Their always mentioned but the contract say so. Yah...but contract say say if we terminate but now its the maid they provide does not want to work. They are the ones who terminate the contract not us. And we are the one to bare all costs.

I have more than 12 years of maid-employing experience and I avoid going to the same agency. Guess what? I think Jack Focus is the worst among the 6 or 7 I have used! They failed and cancel my returning maid's WP and ended up my returning maid needed to carry the WP with her when she was repatriated! The new replacement maid from Jack Focus was not satisfactory, when I contacted them in early Sep, they asked me to give her a chance to try. I called in Nov, asked for maid replacement, they said no bio data. I called in Dec, they said the same, due to Xmas. I called in Jan, they said will email me bio-data, which nothing came through at all! Bunch of lies and irresponsible! I told myself to give Jack Focus one last contact and called them last week... the in charge said, "A? Why didn't you send your maid back?" I got fed up and slammed down the phone. Jack Focus is really a shame!
I have asked for a maid since last year 14 th of dec 2010. The new maid from philippine did arrive but fail the test in singapore. They never do a proper check on the maids standard of education. Then we have to wait for another few weeks, in the mean time, we got a transfer maid while waiting for another new maid from Philippine. The transfer maids is a headache, simply cannot trust. WE have to send her back after 4 days. Now until this date, 24/1. Our new maid still stuck at philippine. I really wonder whether are they serious about maid business.
