On 5/21/2009, I ordered a People Search report for $.95, order #19902888. The information was totally out-dated and of no use to me. On 6/2/2009, $19.95 was charged to my credit card. I contacted Intelius and they said my money was not refundable. I was offered several of their services in lieu of my money. The order # is 20076170 and I did not authorize this charge. I am 79 years old, on Social Security and have no use for their services. Could you please help me get my money returned to me? Thank you

You can call your bank and let them know you were unable to resolve directly with the merchant. Your bank should be able to file a claim for you to help you get your money back. There aren't any fees or charges for the claim and they do all the work. Each bank is different as to how long you have before you can file a claim but if the charge appeared within the last 90 days they should dispute it for you. Hope this helps.

Everywhere I go, Intellius has intercepted about 90% of the queries I've put out. They seem to be behind every searchable database, lurking on the last page, demanding a price for the results for your "free search". They have anticipated we might search with the "- Intellius" parameter (meaning don't include results containing "Intellius"), because even with this limit set, there it is again when you click "view results". No one likes being herded into a blind trap, and my message to you, Intellius, is don't expect a lot of positive response from this kind of heavy-handed tactic.

If you select a promotional price on the Intelius website, you will also receive a free 7 day trial of Identity Protect. After the 7 day trial, it will convert to a regular subscription and bill out at $19.95 monthly.

However, there’s no obligation. If you determine within the 7 day trial that you no longer want Identity Protect, you can cancel your service anytime, online or over the phone with a customer support representative.

It sounds like you have also accepted a third party company’s offer that is advertised on the Intelius website. If you no longer wish to be enrolled in that third party company’s service, please call 888-445-2727 Monday – Friday 4:30am – 9:00pm PST. We will be more than happy to assist you.
