Ingles Markets bad food, nasty management

I sincerely do not know what you can or can not do regarding Ingles Grocery Store but felt it was necessary to tell you some of the things that have happened to me while shopping there.

Last week I shopped at Ingles. With other groceries, I purchased frozen cooked shrimp ($15.48 dated 2012) and 4 chicken ***. The shrimp were bad. The smell and taste were terrible so uneatable. Two of the 4 *** were obviously chicken ***. The other two *** were definitely chicken skin but wrapped around parts (pieces) of darker meat of some kind. I threw those out also.

In the past I have written the store and complained.

I have brought home a jar of rancid mayonnaise.

I have brought home sour milk.

I have brought home cans upon cans of outdated vegetables, not even realizing till one smelled terrible and I saw the date was 2007. I am 64 and have shopped in NJ and Florida for over 30 years and never thought to check dates on canned vegetables. I actually never checked dates at all.

Now I do but I won't go into Ingles anymore. I have never once in over 30 years shopped and brought something that was bad home. I find that I can not protect myself from Ingles and every time I shop there, I come home with something bad, rancid, moldy - something to throw out.

I went to the salad bar and wanted some mustard potatoes sale. I asked the man if it was fresh. He picked up the bin and said "Yes, it is fresh we made it Monday" This was Thursday and I don't consider 4 day old salad with mayonnaise fresh.

I have brought home cheese that was moldy within the expiration date.

I have brought home cheese that was moldy but only on the inside within the expiration date.

The list is longer and I will not purchase things from Ingles any longer. It is difficult here because they make themselves "THE ONLY STORE IN TOWN"

This particular store is the Super Ingles in Black Mountain.

They do everything they can to "force you to walk the store impulse buying" as one manger told me. She shops at Bi-Lo. They try to induce you to buy their Laura Lynn products but my question is if the store, which people see, is that bad, what can their factory be like - or their products?

Taking something back. I have complained to the manger and his comment is "beats me" I have written and complained. My neighbor (who works there) just told his wife they have a lot of waste and to be extra careful of what she buys there. He said he would talk to his manager.

They did clean up some of the cans but the meat - don't get the family package cuz the two on top look fine but the two on the bottom are always brown, in my experience.

I will shop somewhere else. I have found the management to be the rudest people I have ever met in my life. Their customer service is great only when you are wiling to listen as to how much the employees hate working there.

How can a store this big, with this kind of clout be allowed to exist with such poor management is beyond me but it sure doesn't speak well for NC.

Ingles Markets manager/asst managers

There is several reasons I will not shop at this Ingles. First the manager Kevin Byers. He is very rude to the customers by walking around the store with his bluetooth on his ear. I have heard him jump onto his help for even looking at their phone. They are not aloud to talk, text, or have thier phones out of their pockets yet he can walk around with his constantly on his ear. You as a customer walk past him he does not speak or does he acknowledge that you are even in his store. He has always had a bad reputation and now I see it for myself. Also he has an assistant manager named James Harris. I know there have been many complaints on this manor being rude! Not only to the customers but also to the help in front of customers! If you ask this asst. manager anything relating to the store he says" I don't know maam" or sir. That is very bad management on all sides. Since I have experienced these two managers I have not shopped at Ingles in the last two months. I have lived in this area for 43 years and I have alot of family and friends whoe seen and heard the same things as I have and are not shopping there anymore. I hope there will be something done soon.

I had stopped by to pick up few groceries and was leaving the produce
area to heading to the Deli Dept and and saw an employee she did not
even speak to me or anything but that is not what was bothering me
Then I went over to the bakery got some bread an I observed this
blond female talking very rude and unprofessional to the clerk in the deli.So the I pick up some other groceries and went back to the Deli.
Got some lunch meat And I ask who the rude blond was And she informed me it was the deli operations manger for the district.
I was shocked. she talks to her employees that way?

I shop at an Ingles near me because of its location. The deli employees are very unfriendly and sometimes rude to customers. If they are so unhappy why not go somewhere else and get a job?!

DM's and managers are usually always nasty to employees because they are viewed as incompetent and unimportant and they only make min wage. DM's especially have an attitude that they are so important and employees should be kissing the ground they walk on. No big surprise here!

oh trust me I've had way worse, but i have to say at my store, the deli is the ### of it. we're always understaffed, and when we make above average sales, our budgeted hours get cut even more. we're currently 4 employees in the deli. and we're the largest loblaws outside of montreal, throughout the day there are some serious clientele rushes where we even have to miss our breaks because when "jean-guy" and "mélanie" want their bologne cut thick, they really meant thick enough to be fried, but forgot to mention that and now want a fresh kilo.

and when we slip up for the slightest things, this ### who's already had his car vandalised at other stores, just so happens to be the regional manager gives me a god damned write up because as i was passing by the fishery I asked my buddy when he finished . that's it.

Ingles Markets letting employees do what ever they want, and the store managers.

store manager is clocking him self in and out to go play in pool tourments. sexual conduct, one 16 year old cashier quit because jackie golden your store mgr. does nothing but use explicit lang, sexual mis conducy. i thought none of this was supposed to be allowed. he is tipping off employees when they get a random drug screen. so he gives them time to get there system cleaned out.letting people work off the clock and he knows and still looks the other way. no employee in te store will tell on him because they are affraid of getting fired. now you tell me how you can let things go on n your store. while he is suppose to be working he is playing pool and all the employees know but are afraid to tell. he also left the store after closing and followed michelle jones around the store stalking her.trying to get her to have sex with him.

Ingles Markets managers

Every time I go in there the managers are RUDE. No one in there has any idea how to run a grocery store. The store manager and assistant manager there both idiots I have never seen either of them doing anything. The front end managers are the rudest people I have every seen and god forbid you need to ask them a question . I will never shop in that store every again. I will keep driving to the Ellajay store were they have some real managers working there that care about there customers. Because the managers at Dawsonville dont have a clue what they are doing.

The manager at store 202 in Sptbg to me has no clue. He made my kid feel like a thief not with his words but with his actions. Read the attached e-mail that I sent to customer service.
My daughter was hired there week before last. Her first day she got 1/2 days training and then was left by herself. On her 3rd day, her drawer was short. They called or texted her that Sunday night and she explained what she thought might have happened. The manager watched the tapes and said he knows she did not STEAL the money, she mistakenly gave to much change to customers. One even brought back $17 dollars. She made a mistake. So yesterday when she went to work, the manager fired her. He didn't offer to give her another chance, he didn't offer to give her additional training even though he said he knew she had not STOLEN the money. He wouldn't give her another chance. She was so happy she had gotten the job. Now she's crushed. She made honest mistakes. He said he couldn't let her continue working even though he knew she was a good girl, honest and likable. Now everyone that works at the store will think she stole the money. I asked would he had done when this had happened before, his response, this has happened before after he had just told my husband, before I got there, he had fired someone 2 weeks earlier for stealing. Now she is considered a thief by people she worked with. Not she made a mistake, let's do more training. Not she made a mistake, let's see how we can keep this from happening again. My daughter even offered to pay the money back to keep her job. He would not allow that. He was worried about how he would like to other employees if he let her stay and keep her job. His words were: Corporate don't know her how will it look if I let her stay. No corporate doesn't know her but they can look at the same video he looked at, they can talk to her and see what kind of person she is, they could asked him do you think she took the money, which he assured us (her parents) that he knew she didn't. He could have said it was a mistake, I'm working with her to make sure she doesn't make the mistake again. But would he do that, NO instead he crushed her. Made her feel like she stole the money and put her in the same category as the kids he had let go for stealing. Now here's the kicker. He told her father, she could re-apply in 4 or 5 months and if he had an opening he would consider bringing her back because he knew she was a good kid and she was honest.. If he knew that why was she not allowed to get more training and keep her job. NO crush her spirit now. Will I shop there again. No. Because a mistake is just that a mistake. I make mistakes, that manager makes mistakes. Others at the store have also made mistakes and have been written up and get to continue working. If she is honest enough to be hired back in a few months, she was honest enough to get to keep her job. Yes, as I stated, she made a mistake. Is she sorry, Yes. Did she offer to make it right? Yes Would he allow her to keep her job? No. He was afraid of corporate. Corporate might have thought since she's honest, letting her work was a good decision. She made a mistake
Since being fired, my daughter’s friend told her she had come up $99 short and was written up of course this was another manager. Another guy that works there they know for a fact has stolen at least $20. The manager’s father is a District Manager and apparently this manager doesn’t have to be consistent with his own policies or play by the rules.
After talking with my daughter, she was never told how much money was in her drawer to begin with, the bookkeepers count the money and hand it to the cashiers. Not I am not implying anything.
So punish the ones that want to work and want to start a life for themselves and keep the ones that you have doubts about.

Ingles Markets dog food bags breaking

Over the past 2 months I have been at the Ingles in Barnesville Ga @ had the Ingles Brand of dog to break before we had it loaded. The last time, one week ago I was going to purchase the food and the bag I picked up was taped together, it had broken as well and food missing. I have as well witnessed other patrons loading the same food and the bags bursting. I have lost food in the parking lot and had to scrape up what I could. I do work for a company that could ensure no broken bags. therefore no customer complaints of this sort.; Exopack [protected] ask for George Warren.

Thank you
Regina Tardy

Ingles Markets - dirty place and nasty food

I am very frequent shopper. I just was getting a package of croissants from the counter and looked over at the angel food a cakes and say black specks on the cakes, like pieces from the pan. Then i stepped back to look at the depta and the equipment was very dirty. Only one person was working in there. She said all had gone home and she had to put out more...

Ingles Markets awful place to eat

The bakery dept is really dirty. The manager stated he fired all the ex employees, but kept some that had been there a while. They don't know what they are doing and the place is filthy. The pans seem to never get washed, the glass cases are dirty and i heard the fry vat, proofer and exhaust system was torn up and the sprayer for the cakes. I got a cake the other day and is was a very poor sight for hanna montana. Something needs to be done about this dept. They have a new woman who seems to know what needs to be done, but i heard them say she only gets 4 hrs. a day. Well she needs to be there all the time. I heard some of the staff state she was trained at another store so maybe you need to consider her instead of what you got. I am not one to complain, but when you see and hear things its them to do something about bad business.

Ingles Markets very rude store manager

I work at the Ingles in Winder Ga. There are a lot of nice people there, but the store manager is terrible.

First this store doesn’t believe in evaluations.

Nobody ever gets a raise. They people working there for five to six years without a raise since they started. Then Mr. Wages cuts everyone’s hours pushes his dept managers to get more production done.

The only person that’s making any money is him! I've witness so many good people either quit, because they can't take it anymore. Or he fires people for the dumbest reasons! Ingles is the worst place to work for.

My son worked for Ingles for six years. Last weekend he got a laughable for lunch got distracted and forgot to pay for it., Today they let him go although he offered to pay for it, told him he can't come in the store. They cut his hours to six a week and like a faithful little puppy he continued to work. I spend between 150.00 to 200.00 dollars a week in there but no more .Dillon is a good boy, has never been in trouble, he is not a thief. If he is not allowed in that store neither am I. The manager acts like it makes him mad if you ask him anything, if he were to smile his face would crack. Thanks a lot Ingles if anything happens to my boy it's their fault.

I worked at the ingles in Hendersonville North Carolina, well both of them in that small town. But yes Ingles management and who they employee in power are some of the worst people alive. So much sexual harassment it isn't even funny, so much social defamation it can ruin lives and I've comforted so many crying woken from what store managers and their comanagers have done. Some of the most miserable people who abuse their position to hurt, embarrass and control other employees and past employees just because they can and corporate ingles doesn't do a single thing about it. Some got it worse than others just because they are single parents who can't quit and need the money to feed their families. Or people, including young adults, who are happy which makes them beautiful people who grab the attention of others where jealousy steps in and cruel punishments are enacted to shame those happy people. It is disgusting and inhumane and pretty bad at the Howard Gap Rd, Ingles. I was an employee and had an affair for a year with the deli manager still currently there. She used her position to promote me to her night manager and tell me many things to grab my attention using her body in sexual ways in the deli office to have me cater to her needs in the office because she can't get them at home. We committed sexual acts in the office, then went and served people food, no I am not proud of it I did get caught up but that doesn't mean I deserve to be sparred. We used ingles time to have an affair and hide it with work, much time spent late through the night after hours to engage in this affair including inventory nights, and the parking lot to continue, and ingles management and corporate know about it yet do nothing. I've actually created a blog explaining a lot more a lot further in detail with proof of a lot of these claims that corporate has seen as well. Problem is that this deli manager plays victim and uses her body to seduce the store manager and the district manager whose name was Ricky, who also would sexually harass her which she would tell me about and is her power of control over him. She talks do bad and disgusted of them but uses them to destroy lives of her employees who do right and report the wrongs that this deli manager is doing. Problem with that is when a complaint is reported, it is passed down person to person until it reaches the entire store and this deli manager who then will make that persons life a living hell often writing them up for acts like sexual harassment with zero reported write ups or incident reports and isn't that illegal? Aren't these complaints supposed to be anonymous and investigated by corporate instead of handed down to these managers doing the wrong so that they may group together and harass those trying to do right, be left alone, and feed their families? These people are what's wrong with the cruelty in the workplace across the nation today and there's still a whole lot more from seeing with my own eyes after being part of that circle so that this deli manager could take advantage of my kind heart and use me sexually keeping it a secret until using the job to defamate and ruin me socially and mentally. These small towns are just that, small towns, calling someone a stalker and using a relationship that no one knows about to try and act like it was one sided and making yourself a victim to save your own butt can spread around the entire town and ruin a persons life, ingles knows about all of this and acknowledges it as ok. I've created the blog which ill link but I'm also getting two town newspapers to publish an article so that more attention can be brought down upon these horrible people and hopefully disturb enough customers that the owner of this company gets his head out of his ### and turns his company away from being a cesspool of the wrong people in power creating a slave labor communist environment that ruins lives instead of employing and helping honest people with families and providing grocery store services to the townspeople who deserve honest and clean food serving environments. I wasn't going to come out with all of this for the longest time but if I must live out a completely damaged life because of what this company allows bad people and provides the means for them to thrive and continuing committing inhumane acts... then I will be the strongest voice this company has ever faced and make sure their entire network of customers, vendors and investors know the atrocious acts that ingles is condoning and doing nothing about.

I work for the Ingles on Hwy. 60 in Gainesville, G.A. Our store manager, Janet, is nothing but an absolute stressed out witch who bullies every employee at the store with the exception of her inner circle. She cannot handle stress on any level, and she frequently belittles her cashiers in front of customers. I don't believe she's ever voiced the words "I'm" and "sorry" together at any point in her life. She makes mistakes and pushes the blame of on her co-workers. I wish I had never gotten on at this store and I'm currently seeking new employment. After I leave I intend to phone corporate with some interesting information concerning legal violations that I've personally witnessed. If they don't listen I will contact the DOL.

Inglis sucks ...i have been in retail for about 20 years I'm 45 now and still work very hard. All my evaluations have been excellent. Our district has been changed in habersham GA. and it has been a nightmare. we have a new manager. We all hoped for the best but all this man has done is fight with everyone. He treats us like rats or dogs. Sorry i treat my dog pretty good. He hates us. He has called me a lire 2 times and brings his own people from his little store he came from. our new bakery merchandiser is the worst I have ever worked under.. She has caused us to loose more money than we ever have. I don't know how she still has a job...Her name is Kara and she is nothing but a big bully. Mr Ronald's is the newest manager, and he acts like a juvenile ... and he is living with and has a kid with the deli merchandiser in the same district .. that alone is ###. He is a fat ### ...Our customers hate him and so do all the employees. He and Kara just fired me over a statement that someone wrote about me ... and the statement is a lie...now I'm considered HOSTILE... i find that to be funny considering who it came from...my record proves otherwise ...so what ever...CARMA IS A ###...ENJOY WHAT YOU GET... HOPE I'M AROUND TO HERE ABOUT IT ...I PREY PUBLIX WILL BUILD A STORE NEAR YOU SOON AND PUT YOU OUT OF BUSINESS ...SO MANY CUSTOMERS WISH THE SAME.. THE ONLY REASON THEY SHOP AT THE CLARKSVILLE STORE IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO WHERE ELTS TO GO. MR RYNALDS YOU SUCK AND YOU CAN KISS MY ###.. FROM BECKIE HILL TO YOU

I am an Ingles employee also. The pay sucks. The hours BLOW. and not to mention they screwed my check up. It took them 4 weeks to get my first check then they put it all in one causing me to pay double tax. Now granted we now have a new store manager but that still does not fix what they did. I also drive 25 miles one way to go to work when there is a store within walking distance from where I live. Store # 116 HAYESVILLE NC. I WORK DAY IN DAY OUT AND GET NOTHING. NOT EVEN A THANK YOU OR A [censor] YOU!

Ingles Markets poor service!

I have been a customer of Ingles Store # 102 since it open at its old location (buford Drive ) and the new Location (Lawerceville Hwy) I always love the
store, the management and the employees. However, I visited it on Wednesday Sept. 26 2007. I was very upset with how the store looked the attitude of the employees was very negative. So I talked with a couple employees of the store And
they informed me that they changed management and the "new" Co-manager was not a people person and did not care how he treated employees or customers Such a shame such a nice store is being ruined by someone like this. I will be trading at the Publix store until this problem is fixed.

I think they are going sell out in the last part of this year anyway. This may be why they don't care. The Ingles store might end up being a Publix before it is ove with.

Ingles Markets products is totally unacceptable!

I have purchased a dozen roses from Ingles for the last 14 months, every Fri. evening. Of late, they die with 24 hrs. the buds fall of and I've even returned to the store's from which I've purchased. I get them from two different stores, one, Dawsonville Ga. and Anderson, SC. where I have two lady friends.

I don't know why your flowers have gotten so bad of late, but I will not continue to spend over $15 a dozen if this is the way your product is going to continue to be.

I, also, will no longer shop at Ingles because of this. Their product is totally unacceptable!

Ingles Markets no black cherry icecream

I and many others need fat free frozen yougert ice cream. For a while u carried Kemps by Greene i had bought it at Lowes and it is good. I have been going to BI-LO's in Morganton (when Ingles is very close) I got Southern Home Fat free frozen yogurt. They had special 2 for 6 $. I got 2 van 2 choc and 2 strawberry they are very good. I put one of each in a gallon freezer bagand they save very well. Also i found my friend some black cherry ice cream and black walnut. I have never found black cherry at Ingles.

With other items i spent $40.68. This is the 3rd time i have stocked up since i located the frozen yogurt surely if you add it and advertise it you could benifit from enough sales.

Ingles Markets slimy with a bad smell fish

Bought Grouper Fish today (07/12/06) at Ingles Grocery, Clayton, GA 30525. Fish Counter advertised "Grouper - Wild Caught - Fresh"; however, when I opened the package at home I found the fish to be "slimy with a bad smell"!

I returned the fish to the Store Manager for refund. The manager was "huffy" and told me to take it back to the Meat/Fish Manager which I did. He took the fish and told me that he could give me a refund, that the refund had to be processed by the Store Manager at the front. I returned to the Store Manager and told her that I had returned the fish to the Fish Manager and he told me to return to the Store Manager for refund. I gave the Store Manager the "Debit Ticket" for the store purchases and she refunded the cost of the fish. I signed a "Return Ticket" for her. Upon leaving the Store I realized that the Store Manager had not returned my "Debit Ticket" and I did not know the cost of my other purchases and returned for my ticket. She "rummaged" around in the Trash Can at her counter and found the Ticket which she gave back to me.

The Store Manager (Woman) was short, rude and did not indicate that she was sorry for my inconvenience. I have been a customer of this store for the past six years since it opened in 2000 and have not been so rudely serviced in the past. The Store Personnel have always been very helpful, but not this time.

Assistant Manager was very disrespectful. He made very smart mouth comments about the items I bought. A 60-year-old man should not have to tolerate such a nasty attitude. Incident occurred on Saturday morning - 2/17/2024- around 7:30am.

This is not the first time I have complained about Ingles in Washington Georgia. The store is poorly stocked there are so many items they are out of when I go in there. The items missing are common every day things. I am starting to get the feeling that corporate office does not care about this. I will take my business elsewhere .

I have my daughter with me and I was trying to do it myself. Well I rode into the bathroom and it wasn’t big enough. I couldn’t check the door. My wheelchair was in the way I need to make it bigger if I had to have my daughter with me to help me put on the toilet then tape my wheelchair out so I can use the bathroom it would’ve been bad.

Assistant customer service manager wasn't willing to help with an issue after I checked out. She wanted to get an attitude and roll her eyes at me when I told every item I got was wic signed items.
