I got a link through [protected]@irctc.co.IN .The offer was to Buy:

Bestsellers Books & CDs starting AT Re 1/-. I selected the ones I liked and then paid online as India Today is a well reputed Magazine and they have a book club. IRCTC is a railway online book site by the Govt. I got a catalog of India Book Club by mail, but never got the books. Not even an acknowledgment receipt. My credit statement shows the amount. They are obviously cheats and would advise all to beware of them.

मेरे सेल पर कई दफा कॉल आई की मने एक लाख का गोल्ड और डाइमंड वोउचेर जीता है, उसके लिए १४९९६.०० रूपी भरने होंगे तब मुझे गिफ्ट वाउचर मिलेगा, फ़ोन कॉल मी.वरुण वर्मा ने की, जो इंडिया टुडे बुक क्लब से बोल रहा था, मुझे १४९९६.०० के आइटम बिल नंबर ORA100026883 dt.28.08.2010 के साथ मिले, पर फ्री गिफ्ट वाउचर अभी तक नहीं मिला है.

India Toady is a well known media house in india. I had ordered my books through online payment on 30 april and till so far i didn't receive my order. Customer care is not giving any feedback. Its been 2 months talking to them, but i have not received my order and now they are not even picking the calls also.

Not received of 9.2 MP Kodak Digital Camera

I have book a Kodak Digital Camera through my credit card on 14th Nov 2009. Booking Id [protected]

Initiallly i was told that the order is return because of Door lock. Later when I e-mail them my credit card statement when the amount of Rs. 5298 is deducted, I was replied as follows,

I already have spoken with Savio / Sushil Kumar / Jagriti / Sukant Ghosh / Kuldeep Rathi / Richa / Neeraj / Mohsin / Pawan / Heena / Shahjad / Ramnik etc. etc... but all have given false promises.

Till date i have no received the camera. I already have E-mail them my statement on itbc4u@indiatodaybookclub.com, orders@indiatodaybookclub.com, response@indiatodaybookclub.com, feedback@indiatodaybookclub.com and many more Id every now and then Which i was given by these people.

Whenever i call the only reply is Mr . Justin fernedes / Adil / Ravi ( All are floor incharge ) are looking into your case.

But these people are never on their seat ( called them more than 20 times since march 2010, and more than 50 times since Jan 2010 )

Please guide what to Do.

I have placed following order 3 months back.

Sorry to say but I have received a wrong orders. I placed this order under "order 6 bestsellers scheme" in which you will get 6 bestsellers in 1 rupee and on top of that you have to purchase two others from the list. In all I should be getting some 8 items but I have received only 3 books which I never ordered. That's highly ridiculous . I tried calling also at following numbers: 011-[protected], [protected] but nobody bothers to answer them. Thats really sad on such a reputed company. If they can handle there offers then why do they offer them. Its high time I think there should be legal action against them

I am India today magazine subscriber from more then 10years now. From the date of 10th feb2010 to 16th feb 2010 executives from India today book club
has show me the benift of purchasing some articles with some incentives /commitment. For this their Executive Mr praveen,
Mr. sourabh and Mr. raj told me that India today book club has selected your name in the lottery system and so we are offering you benefit.
Below are the details :-

1-samsung mobile for rs 12498/- with free incentive as below-

a -diamond jewelry of rs 25000/- free
b-free wrist watch rs 2599/
c- free holiday package

2 -philips home theater with dvd for Rs 7598/-

3-philips lcd 17" with dvd for Rs 7498/ with free incentives as below

a- free rist watch Rs 7500/-
b- free diomond jwellary of Rs 50000/-
c-free holiday packages
d - lottery draw of Rs 10 Lac/- (selected in last 10 name)

they also offered some more incentives like Apple laptop etc.

so I paid Rs 27500/- but they had cheated me and sent the followig goods-

1- Samsung mobile with one hand watch, which is only worth Rs 100/-

2- philips home theater old model(which is not worth it, what they committed)

3- 7 inch LCD instead of 17 inch ( not worth of anything, what they committed) with hand watch Rs 100/-

however I did not get any other incentive till now and when I made complaint for this to the company, they started investigating about this complaint
but still no solution has been provided to me till now by them even after following up so many times(almost 5 month) .

As per rule the have tapped all conversation with happened with me(customer) . This can help us to track them.
I have already raised compliant with them, my complaint number is ITBC10241159. I request you to help me.

Dear Sir,
I made a payment of Rs 199 on 26th of march 2008 (ref no 75176378087004375201132) for Living Media India Ltd through online because ICICI has sent an email to me regarding the stupendous offering which ICICI has clubbed with India today for some encyclopedia CD and subscription and adidas bag and hence I paid the amount online to living media India pvt ltd.Icici sent the mail to me on Wednesday, 27 February, 2008 8.09 PM.
Now almost 1 month is going to go still living media has not shipped the offer package to me. My question is why ICICI is clubbing with some marketers who are so fraudulent like this?(because I read numerous complaints about living media who are not prompt in sending books and other deliveries and also I read that they have deceived many people.)

Sir once eBay was delaying in sending a similar offer for which I filed a complaint and immediate action was taken on the seller and he was immediately stopped to be a seller on eBay.
I am a faithful customer for ICICI for the past 5 years so please take immediate action to resolve this issue. Also I am sure ICICI will contact before me taking severe action on them

I had purchased a book "Complete history of the World" by Richard Ovary vide Invoice no ORA100003352 DT 02.03 2010 AGAINST ORDER NO 0GA100003305 DT 26.02.2010.thru Reader's Digest Rs. 60, 00, 000.00 sweepestake where in I was offered a number of assured gifts worth Rs.11, 899.00. I have received all the gifts except "Round- trip air ticket worth Rs.7, 000.00 vide invoice no quoted above.
I had been eagerly waiting for the same assuming there may be some delay in processing the air ticket through the air line. I regret even after 90 days Air ticket has not been received.Hope you would take immediate action and arrange air ticket delivered to me at the earliest and keep your promise.

SUB: Non receipt of consignment no TELESALES/[protected]

After reading in Rajasthan Patrika News Paper,
I had ordered for a Rebok fitness kit from India Today Book Club and the
order no. is TELESALES/[protected].It coasted me Rs.3199/- and I had paid
this amount on 2nd Dec, 2009 using my Credit Card. Though they have
received this amount, they are still to deliver me this consignment.
My below attempts have not yielded any results as yet:
1. Telephonic conversation with Mr. Ashutosh Kumar on 15nd Dec 2009, But
there is no record of that it is delivered to the customer nor it was sent
back to India Today Book club. It was confirmed that they are arranging to
send again and the consignment which would reach us in 5 days. However,
till date we have not received the consignment.
2. On dated (22 Dec '09) again we talked over phone to Mr. Kapil. He
confirmed that delivery record is showing that consignment has not reached
us and assured yet again said that in 24 hours they will reply on this
issue after consulting higher officer.
3. Again on dated (23 Dec 2009) we have not received any reply, hence
again we talked over phone to Mr. Mukul (complaint No275585).Inform all
above story to him, Mr Mukul told me to send credit card statement. Hence
its scan copy also enclosed for further action.
4. On dated 24th Dec2009, we have received email, that your order has been
fully processed from our end and has been dispatched on [protected] through
the BLUEDART under the [protected] consignment details. After going in
detail through BLUEDARART website this parcel belong to Mr OP SHARMA,
Jaipur not to me. To misguide in place of date dispatch no was mention. We
don’t know out why they had given wrong information to us. Moreover we
have paid though my credit card and its details are enclosed to them. It
seems they are not serious to attend our problem tell us correctly. But I
strongly feel they are doing such mistakes regularly and misguiding their
consumers and making profit by wrong practices in the market. India today
is one of the renowned channels and Mr Prabhu Chawala speaks very high. But
reality is totally different they are advertising their product in news
papers. Normal people like us getting trapped and lose their hard earned
money. Government is also keeping silence on this and giving full support
and allowing cheating the common Indian people. They should not allow any
online shopping until unless these agencies are not fully equipped with
backup system with them. They should banned if any complaint is registered
against them. Otherwise normal public will be losing and these agencies
will grow further to play such gambling in the Indian market. My one again
humble request is to look with an open mind and stop such open authorised
gambling.

Kindly let me know every day why one or other story is being
repeated if you want any information tell me at one time and solved my
problem to avoid any legal action on this issue. Till now we had spent more
than Rs 100/ on telephone but none of the officer the India today talked
from their side. Quick reply is awaited.

But we are not getting any authentic reply from them. Every time they are

After procuremnt of one item the Tele person called me up over telephone and intimated that you are shortfall of some points to be ranked in top ten and to be eligible for the surprised gift and lucky draw to be held today you can procure any one item out of the three described by him. Accordingly i procured one more item. Soon after that another call came and responded similarly and to be among top 5 I procured the third item. This is the story behind the procurement of three items.

Now I have the last word to say please arrange to pick up all the two delivered items from my residense and arrange to refund my money immediately.

I do not want any relation with India Today Book Club being the cheater company and it will be conveyed to all my dear ones not to procure any item from India Today Book Club online.

My membership to India Today Book Club no is ITBC10325854. I have in past complaint to response@indiatodaybookclub.com about one mr Ajay M. who claimed that he is a senior manager sales and of selection scheme of 6000000 prise money. First of all i had to believe that i was made to buy in tne with over 1.5 lakhs worth items which were of no use to me a s i had purchased from ITBC.
Still i was falsely and fakely misguided every times that my draw id there and i have already one 550000 prise and i have to buy atleast 35000Rs worth item i was dumped with microsoft X box 360 console arcade and told i wil get 150000 worth dimondjwelery and 20000 worth cash voucher of samsung or LG product at any outlet. It is a digital versatile getgit which is worth 150000. in fact when received i found its a game box. no use to me. and amount of rs 35000/- swiped in a stroke! Cheated me. One mt ajay said he is giving a DVD player with 17inch TFT screen in 8000/- worth and when enquired it was told that its only DVD player!. Thus again cheated. Two samsung touch screen mobiles of lowest quality sold to me in about 19000/-. Here also cheated. I was also given chinese duel sim i-star mobile set which has no proper visibility or audability. never worked. No one gives heek to complaints. My id.s OGA100010434 of watch worth 22000/ on Feb 26th transaction i want to cancell. 8000/- worth DVD player i wish to cancell. I am returning back OGA100009650 Microsoft X Box 360 console of 34978/- Other [protected]/[protected]/Fake ids no given are A198DCD101 by clat when this Microsoft X box was sold. SWE No [protected], they have also given cheque no and asked me whether i should refer cash or cheque. my bank details and PAN no etc.
Its a height of indiscipline and frud scam and cheating to the public. The management should immediately take up seriously and justify their reputation.
RHope u will take stern action and refund my amount immediately.

Checked with bank regarding the successful payment but due to some reason couldn't get back to the India today site for confirmation. Don't even have my Book club membership number. Please send a confirmation mail saying my order is accepted and I will get the 4+2 books/CDs with Book club membership now.

Complaint 1.
I was told that I would get my package detailing the list of locations & Name of Hotels with the parcel .But it had nothing except 12 CDs & copies of books.

Complaint 2.
The invoice tells us to visit to www.booktoday.in/promos.htm for redeeming this free gift package of hoday.But this link is a fraud as it doesnt accepts the unique promo ID and tells that the details we have entered are wrong.

Complaint 3.
Invoice tells to contact on 011-[protected] for any assistance, where as this number is also a fake/cheat as no one picks up call & all we hear is an IVR voice line telling us to hold the line as our call in very IMPORTANT to them.

Complaint 4.

When I was making the purchase on phone with the India Today book club calling agent, I was never told that I m getting this free package of holiday for purchasing the 12 book package.Instead he framed all this a if I am purchasing a 3 day & 2 night holiday stay in 3 to 5 star hotel package including round air ticket for 3 adults at any location in India from a list of 60 destinations.And when I completed the financial transaction of Rs3198 on phone he informed me that I would get a 12 book set with 4 encyclopedia CDs free with this holiday package ( which was completely wrong, false, opposite to actaul real fat that I had actaully purchased a 12 book set/pirated book set.

I NEED MONEY BACK OR MY PROBLEMS GET RESOLVED.

My membership ID with India Today Book Club is ITBC08774081. I had placed an order (TELESALES/0GA090014244) worth Rs.1897/- for Reebok kit (shirt, watch, belts etc.) on 06-March-09. When the ordered items were not delivered after more than 4 months of order, I requested to cancel my order and refund the payment. I have been following up over phone and emails for more than 12 months, but ITBC team is unable to process my refund till today. What should it be called “fraud”, “failure of a REPUTED company in online business”, ’’shame’’, or what? Is there any chance to get my hard-earned money back?

I have provided them all the proofs (CC statements, Order confirmation emails etc) many times and also send letters in writing to their Noida and Delhi offices by Speed Post, but no replies. They do not care for the customers once they got the payment.

They have started a new company BagItToday to make more money by cheating people.

I have booked 3 sets of books from India today book club and they promised to upload the unique promotion number in the website to get the gift. I got the books on 10th August and till today I am not able to access the website to collect the gift. I came to understand from my friends that this company is a fraud one and they are cheating customers. Please take necessary action against the organisation. I made 20 STD calls which cost me around Rs. 1000 but everytime people are giving wait for 3 days. The address of the company is given below.

I am a member of India Today Book Club and admit that I had received one or two good deals from them.This in turn made me believe them when I got an offer for an HTC Touch2 phone over my mobile.I asked the rep whether it was a 3G enabled phone.After confirming with his senior he replied in the affirmative.

Still, I sent a mail to HTC for confirmation and they sent me a reply in negative. I informed the tele caller about the same when he called on the next occasion. I also sent a mail to India Today Book Club affirming my request not to execute the order if it was not 3G enabled.

I received the phone last week. To my horror, it did not have a Touch2 set and was instead having an HTC P3470 inside the box! Phones do not get past the IVRS of India Today Book Club. Fax is either busy or no reply and mails are not answered at all!

I really wonder what has gone wrong with such a reputed organisation like the Living Media Group.It is very frustrating and depressing when such reputed names too act in such strange manner.

After 7 days of posting this online complaint ITBC has NOT refunded the money till date. It shows that either they have no time to solve their customer's problems or they are not interested in refunding the money. They have cheated so many people like me!

I always like to do online shopping with India Today Book Club because of its great deals on online purchases that I can’t find in the shops.This site really has a great collection of products. Here, prices are reasonable, good customer service and fast delivery. Overall, Superb website!

I agree with Raja. I had taken a package earlier wherein they had promised a travel package and airline tickets.For months I could not access the site and used to get the message 'Sorry the offer has expired' or some similar message. Later, when some how I got in touch with them (the phones hardly go past IVRS messages) I was directed to another site which again directed to visit another site to claim the reward. As soon as one clicks the link, the anti virus starts giving an alarm. Hence I have not been able to claim the reward to date.

Second time it has happened recently. They sold me an HTC Touch2 mobile by saying it is a 3G handset. I placed the order but came to know through HTC that it was not 3G enabled. I requested them over phone as well as mail not to execute the order if the phone was not 3G as promised. To my horror, the phone I received was not the one I had ordered in the first place! It was a HTC P3470 !

Their fax is either busy or no reply.There phone hardly goes past the IVRS messages (you need to be very, very patient).They do not reply to emails.

Hi Guys,

I have placed 2 orders from your India today book club for 2 holiday packages

One for 3 days and four nights for Rs. 3000+ and another one for international package for 7 days and 8 nights for Rs. 5000+

I regretfully have to bring it in your notice that I haven’t got my first order and got the second one, even for the second one at the time of buying it was promised to me that the destination includes Switzerland and I was disheartened and felt cheated to know that it wasn’t the case.

Please send me a proper contact number because the number mentioned on site 011-[protected] is not all of any use…no nobody responded on numerous call attempted there

And I am deeply frustrated about the status of my money, which I have spend is still not sure.

As there is no order id generated and smsd to me for first id I feel cheated and money has been taken from me.

Please verify the status of order as soon as possible so that I can to proceed with legal actions if needed in this case .

Ref.my membership No.ITBC07269819 for 20 CD SECRED MOMENTS, with free gifts.

I have paid Rs.2000/-in advance on dated 16/10/08, 16/11/08 and 16/12/08, by three cheques of Kotak Mahendra Bank, at par.The bank also debited to my account by Rs.2000/-.
Inspite of my making regular complaints on tollfree No.and e.mails, still I have not received my order material nor the money refunded to me, even after six months of placing the order.
Hope to get an immediate action in the matter.

Well i know how to publish your rubbish online payment transaction process & i believe you have a bunch of gooses to take care of these stupid thing because i received a call from one of the goose on 25th of February & the online payment process was done manually (Amount swiped from my credit card on that same day itself - HDFC) .I was unable to see my latest transaction on that time & once again you people called me & begged me to take the payment process once again (I believe that was on 2nd mar through HSBC credit card) that means you had some problem i tracking the payment & that’s your internal issue & i am very much clear about my Query so please take some prior action to revert my payment ...

I don’t want a reply from you saying that WE WILL DO THE NEEDFULL, fault is on your side make the right move to avoid the consequences

Unfair Practices of your Book Club

I have paid a sum of Rs. 2000 based on your attached notification for A FREE deluxe Family Holiday was promised as part of the offer as outlined there.

A few outdated CDs were received without any documents or invoice or any clue as to how to obtain the holiday voucher.

Later on, as no any such offer was received, I contacted your Delhi number # [protected] and took an ITBC number, from your delhi office telephonically, and printed the holiday voucher. To my surprise, I realised that it was mere cheating as you then demanded a payment of Rs 800/- towards charges.Though unwillingly, and in disgust over such conning practices, which is unbecoming of any respectable organisation, I had sent the required documents and voucher copy alongwith the payment drawn on a local bank.

Today when I called up, @ +[protected], as nothing was heard from you, the entire set of documents were I understand returned to me on some flimsy grounds. But the said courier has so far not reached me and obviously therefore, somebody at your end is at fault and all this amounts to deficiency in service and cheating.

You are therefore requested to take away your CDs and refund the money collected from me immediately to avoid further unpleasant and infructuous correspondence, and other actions or else, the Holiday as outlined by me be materialised on priority. I am attaching a copy of the holiday voucher as ready reference.
