IHOP hair in our food

We got seated and after 10min of everyone walking by us we finally got our drink order, then the table behind us sent their good back for having a hair in it and another for having an eye lash! Then we got out food and as my husband went to eat his hash browns I'll be darn if there wasn't a hair mixed in with it! The service was horrible and we got up and left! I don't think any of the cooks were wearing hair nets, not to mention my 3yr old finished the evening throwing up the someone what did she got to eat from there before we found the hair!

IHOP waitress took the order and never showed up

I went for lunch to the place I-HOP. I ordered salad and the waitress took the order and promised that within 5 minutes it would be ready. I waited 30 minutes, but this waitress never showed up. WTF? I wanted to find her, but the other waitress simply told me to wait more and went away without any explanation. It was the worst services ever. Please post comments if you had the same problems in this place.

IHOP horrible management

The manager at the Brookpark IHOP started telling at an employee because she made a mistake. I told our server that he was making our visit uncomfortable, and she told the manager. He came into the dining area where we were sitting, all angry, and started to basically say that she deserves to be yelled at . I told him that he was being unprofessional by yelling at the employee and belittling her in front of everyone. He told me that he didn't care, and he walked away. Never apologized, and I told him that he needed to apologize to his employee, and he swore, then said, "ya that will never happen." This was by far the worst situation at a restaurant to have ever been in. He should not be yelling at anyone because everyone makes mistakes. That is how people learn! I will keep escalating this issue until someone from corporate calls me.

I am an employee at an IHOP in Florida. I will say that IHOP does not care about good employees. Their Human Resources, at least in FL, is indifferent to complaints from employees, unless it is a major issue that could result in a scandal and a millionaire lawsuit. They always justify unprofessional behavior and ILEGAL retaliation from managers. When this happens, employees are unhappy. When employees are unhappy (or not trained and helped properly and enough), many customers do not receive excellent service.

IHOP breakfast fiasco

My wife and me went out for a breakfast meal on 3/10/14, my wife ordered Raspberry cream cheese crepes, eggs, hash brown, and bacon. I had oatmeal, wheat toast, turkey bacon and fruit cup. It took us about 15-20 minutes to receive our order, a couple came in 5 minutes after us and received their food before us. I informed the Manager who was very incompetent and really did not help the situation. Once we received the food, my wife's eggs, hash brown, and bacon were all COLD, they must have been sitting around for a while. We won't be coming back for a second chance :(

DO NOT visit the IHOP # 4411 Fredericksburg, VA. If you get server Amber P...lookout!

IHOP black balling

I was relased from my job at IHOP on Warwick Blvd after being verbally harrased and disrespected by a co-worker, who speaks and handles all employess in the building the same way. The management PaulDale was on site and in the same room when the worker addressed me first and started to call me names and yell and curse at me in front of all of my co-workers including my manager Paul Dale who was the only manager on duty at the time and he completely ignored the matter. I went to my General Manager Robert Hopkins as well who told me to hush in front of another worker Max Phal when I repeated what was said to me.
My manager Robert Hopkins claim he spoke with the co-worker after the first situation happened in November. Under my employee handbook General Policies Section 2.13 Violence in the workplace and harrassment and threats are strickly prohibited. So after the first time this man was spoken to in November, for him to be allowed to call me "ghetto, dumb, and stupid" should have been acknowledged and corrected immediately.
That was not the case my manager ignored the entire situation even when I brought it to his attention as the co-worker was still yelling, fussing and cursing. After I realized the managers both shift and General Manager wouldn't take actions on the matter after I brought it repeatedly to their attention. I clocked out and went outside to smoke in the smoking area and waited to speak to the co-worker who also smokes in a private manner after things slowed down inside. There was only three employees outside at the time getting in their cars to leave because of shift change, none which was management and all three of them are a witness to the event. I spoke with the employee and asked him to please stop speaking to me in that manner and it wasn't necessary for him to treat me and my co-workers that way. He proceeded to tell me that there was nothing I could do about what came out of his mouth and nobody was going to do anything including management, bragging about how he had punched one of the managers(Paul Dale) in the face and still had his job so what did I think I could do. I saw that there would be nothing I could say to make things right and started to walk away as I did he yelled out and I quote "yea keep walking you F***ing B*****". After I just finished speaking to him about the names he was calling me in my job. Out of anger and frustration I did pick up a medium size ashtray and threw it his way but it didn't touch his person and I have notorized witness statments from the people that was outside with me stating exactly what happened.
I am not seeking for my job back, but I have been with IHOP since 2005, and have served as a manger, cook, and waitress. On 12/4/2013 I asked my manager Paul Dale the only manager on duty to write me a discharge paper stating the date and reason I was terminated and he refused saying he had nothing to do with the decision and he would get my manager Jimmy who wasnt even on the premises or shift to write my letter. Jimmy did write my letter and I recieved it on 12/5/2013 but the details of the letter are all false, and hear say that is not correct. He claim he have witnesses but nothing in writting as I do. This letter that was written is hindering and will further hinder me from seeking further employment with other companies and IHOP's because of the false information that is written making the incident look as if I attacked my co-worker and doesnt even go into any details about his verbal disrespect, this not being the first time we have had a problem, or my managers not handling this situation correctly.
I understand that by me throwing a object I did break the employee handbook as well, my complaint is if the manager on duty had of handled the situation when it started and I came to them instead of brushing it under the carpet as they always do, I would have never had to seek for my own self-respect. As a employee if I cannot rely on my managers to have my back when I am being wrongly mistreated, then at some point as humans we all get tired of being stepped on and walked over.
As a woman in the workplace it is already hard to maintain a business relationship with the men at my establishment without having to deal with the sexual, and derogatory comments that are made to not only me but me and my co-workers.
I only won't justice and the truth to be written. I never hid the fact that yes I did clock out and wait to speak in private outdoors with a co-worker about a problem we was having, and yes I did throw a object, but as management these issues should have been resloved long before I had to take matters into my own hand.

Not understanding why employees are being punished because customers are not doing surveys. Its hard enough these days to make a penny. Severs already do not make enough and now the added worry of hours being cut. Really how unfair is this?

IHOP extremely bad service

So I have visited your restaurant quite a few times over the last year. Everytime me and my family visit the service is worse than the last time. I don't normally file complaints. I mean afterall it is just food. At the same time every time I have visited the service has been terrible. The servers are always distracted. The managers are always rude. I assume they are managers because they don't wear the attire the rest of the staff do. Ive talked to the managers a few times even. I have over heard one of them even talking about consuming illegal drugs with a younger blonder server a couple of times when we've visited. All of this not appropriate for a family restaurant. The food is almost always been cold or looked as though its been simply thrown together. The soup never has come out before the meal. The last time we visited our waitress "Stephy" told us that is simply how things are done. Sh e was very rude. We lost her attention when some homeless guy came in. A guy she must have known though because they conversed at the front for at least ten minutes before she came and took our bill. We nearly walked out. Needless to say with the kind of riff raff for staff and obviously extremely bad service. Me or my family will not visit that particular IHOP anytime soon. If any IHOP at all. Which is a shame because we go through Sioux Falls quite often through out the year. Was one of our favorite places to stop. Over the last few visits though I can see that a different choice is whats best for me and my family. I remember a couple of servers who grabbed out attention through out this year passing through that weren't bad. They were our servers they only time we actually had good service. An older gentleman and a young spunky redhead. They were genuinely kind and made me and my family feel wanted and welcome. They served us with smiles and attentiveness. However every time after, which is quite a few the service has been terrible. Which is why I decided to let you know. People do not want to eat at a place where people are obviously doing drugs, not attentive, or rude. I expected so much more from the managers even. I already stated however that We've overheard one of the taller (Amy) managers talking about consuming the illegal drug "marijuana" with a thicker blonde "Stephanie" server on more than one occasion. The other managers we've come in contact with were very rude to me and my family when we commented on the bad service and the inappropriate conversations we overheard while visiting. Very distasteful indeed. With everything else I can assure you we will never return to that location or any IHOP for awhile.

IHOP bad services

After church yesterday my friend & I goes to Ihop to eat like we always do. Its the Ihop at 9099 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, Ks. [protected]) Manger names Ramone. I order the Big Steak Omelette it had three pieces of steak on the omelette two in side and one on top. I send it back the manger came to my table and try to tell me it was 4 ounces of steak like I don't what 4 ounces of steak is it had 4 ounces of hash brown in the omelette 3 pieces of steak and 2 mushrooms on the whole omelette. So I told the manger that I didn't want it at all but had already started to eat the pancake. Now I don't mind being charge for the pancake but the meal was $8.99 when I refuesd the meal because I didn't want food that someone might spit-in I was still charged $4.49 for pancake I didn't order pancake and that was half the prices of the meal. So if didn't want the pancake at the begin would the omelette only been $4.50. Everybody in America that have eaten out know it wouldn't.

IHOP unprofessional

Waited for 45 minutes after ordering and when waitress did not return we decided to leave. I found the waitress and was told the food ws just then being put on the grill. I asked how much we owe for the 2 Pepsi's we had and was ignored by waitress and manager.Never answered or told a price. So we walked out only to be chased down by "manager" who said we owed for the drinks. Told him that he did not say we owed so we were leaving. He asked if we wanted to take a theft charge over it and then proceeded to curse us. He never once told us an amount we owed but instead called us thieves and got up in our faces, cursing. I told him would not pay and he could write it off for poor service. He continued to block our path and told us he would call the cops.We gave him $5 and told him we would be calling corporate. He left but cursed us on the way back inside. I called corporate the next day and was given a case #. After 2 weeks of waiting I called back and was informed that they would not and could not do anything and the matter was closed. We were not looking for anything free all we wanted was an apology for the poor management and being cursed at for their inadequacies. The company as a whole has completely disappointed us and we will never set foot in another IHOP again. Believe me, all our friends and family have been informed. I know it was just one franchise but the higher ups dropped the ball.

IHOP harassment

3/8/13 is the date i walked into IHOP and was not offered any seating by any means. After two of my friend had left from being seated for coffee i intended on staying to finish my own and looked forward to ordering a meal since i was off duty and starving. I was then told to abandon my my table and find place elsewhere. after waiting to be seated for 3 hours i was harassed by the manager twice within twenty minutes of waiting with no line that evening to be told to find elsewhere to be until the company policy read by me obliged the manager to find me seating. i had already finished a meal and ordered another meal with coffee once again. Everyone one else was being offered surveys on there order and mine were tossed in the trash. I can not begin to explain the hostility i felt in a work environment such as IHOP, considering a widely organized establishment would not accept me as a guest let alone a human being.

IHOP no service

When we first went in the hostess said let me make sure I have tables set up, there was only 2 of us. She seated us in a corner booth and left. The waiter visited the table next to us 3 times while we waited to be served. We waited almost 10 mins. when we got up to leave, the waiter went out of the restaurant to speak with someone in a car. The hostess did not say anything when we went by her going out the door. She had 2 other people she was showing to a table when I told them good luck on getting served because we did not get served. So we went to Denny's

IHOP owner

I suggest no one eat here, the hostess and owner are very rude. In East Brunswick around lunch time my sister and her friend went to IHOP for some free pancakes only to be disrespected when they came up short for a donation. The host was rude as she commented "Why don't you check your coach purses for some change" along with the comment of "I hope you don't end up in the hospital anytime soon" from the host named Tracy. Upon returning hours later and enjoying pancakes my sister and brother were yet assaulted again. This time by the OWNER named Joan. when leaving they left a $7 tip for the kind waitress, more than generous. When handing the donation to Joan the owner she threw, not tossed, THREW the change at my sister's face followed by harassing names. My sister and brother left calmly and called my father who showed up, leveled headed as he was he simply asked what happened the owner, again her name is JOAN, admit to throwing change at my sister's face and then yelled in my father's face "Your daughters a little brat". This is the worst display of a business i have ever seen by an owner. Such disrespect and immaturity should not be exposed to customers. Especially high school students who were the only mature ones in this situation simply there to enjoy a meal and did nothing to be assaulted or harassed.

IHOP rude comments

As I was in this restaurant to eat, I sat fairly close to the kitchen. The whole time I heard the cook complaining about a customer. From what I can only assume, she is a frequent customer. I assume this because he stated he had already cooked for her as if that mattered. then he stated she could find elsewhere to hang out. I personally don't care how many times someone comes into a restaurant or how well you know them. If they are a paying customer then you treat them as such. I myself found the comments rude and can only imagine how the young lady felt.

I want to let you all no how you can keep your employment at this ihop.1.be very skinny.2.be young3.be ready to have sex with the general manager or better be his daughter.because if you have sex with the gm no matter if you have the iq of a shoe string you can move up the corp.ladder. or if you are the daughter of teh gm you can come in and eat for free with your whole family or you can steal and he knows and nothing happens to you. Consumers beware the coupons are being used to line the servers pockets not for there intended purpose and make you sure you ask for your receipt and make sure the discount is taken from the bill cuz if not it was used for their pockets. The GM's daughter is the worst one with this problem. And here is another way you can keep your job, by being the GM's daughter, The Asst. Mangers Mother, Close family friend to the Assistant manager i.e. someone you call your niece and her mother. And you can eat for free, be late and sit and talk on cell phones in front of customers, basically anything you really want to o you can... But if you are not of them and you are not willing to have sex with the GM you will lose you job so BE WARE, no matter how long you have worked there you will be terminated. I have seen videos of the GM and a different Asst. Manager having sex and that was just wrong. So if you meet any of the qualifications that i have specified call...[protected] and ask for the general manager let him know your qualifications and you will be hired. But if you stop sleeping with him and/ or not realted stay slim and trim and you will be just fine. if you need anymore info give me a call.[protected] and if you speak spanish its a plus.

I am a server at I-hop #1928 in Fort Worth, I am hoping to shed some light on a matter concerning our management. She is VERY vindictive, mean, and utterly psychotic, I do not need to be told how hard she works, because we know how chaotic it can get, especially on the weekends, I do not need to be called derogotory names in front of costumers, or being called an F-ing this or a Fat piece of that, and worse. I just want to go to work, do my job, and take care of my customers. We have already made a complaint to her bosses but nothing has yet resulted, I want to be treated with respect, and in return I will be a much better employee. I work very hard, but I do not need the G.M to come all the way to the service area from the register to tell me she is to busy to to handle things at the wait station, while I have to take an order, take drinks, pull food, and help out my co-workers and on top of that get the door and her coffee!
I want things to get better and we at 1928 are tired, sick and tired!

IHOP restaurant in general

If you want to work at this store be prepared to kiss butts or you will be able to keep your job. They allow bullying harrasment among employees. If you value your health don't eat there. They are more worried about labor than making it safe for the guest and employees. I have worked in many restaurants but never one like this one, this is THE worst restaurant I've EVER worked in

IHOP employees and managers

I am an employee of this Ihop but currently seeking work elsewhere. The Management staff play favorites and allow some staff to hang in the office instead of take care of customers and not to mention choosing who will be wrote up depending if they like that person. Sometimes the rules are enforced but then again it depends on who they are. Most of the staff come into work and are high on drugs like adderall (not prescribed), pot, pills, and xanax (prescribed or not) and the managers know about this and do nothing about it. Some of the serving staff would rather talk about everyone elses business and because they do this they will take a long time to get to their customers to greet them or even to take their coffee to them. When these customers complain to the managers about what they see happening and the long wait they endured while a server is gossiping the managers do nothing but pay for a meal and the staff continues to do these things. I have watched the morning and evening servers pick food off of customers plates as they are preparing to take it to them, servers never wash hands, and some cooks do not either. I have witnessed cat fights among servers and its usually over the fact that someone is spreading gossip or rumors and they usually get away with yelling, cursing, and tormenting others. The kitchen and dish area is so disgusting and stinks. I have seen moldy food in there coolers from where things do not get cleaned and these managers also know this stuff to. This is the worst place I have ever worked for and honestly the way these people conduct themselves is embarrassing especially when they speak like a toddler and also conduct themselves as one. This environment is meant more for teenagers to work in. There must be a health violation going on somewhere in that place with all the nasty spoiled foods, food on the floors for days, especially eggs that are never kept at the proper temps but they lie on their documents saying the temps are all good. The tables are nasty with sticky unwashed syrup bottles that are suppose to be washed every week but only a couple people wash theirs out and no managers check so why do the work? Over the summer there were ants crawling on tables, roaches, water leaking through light fixtures onto tables, and not to mention the fly infestations. This restaurant is poorly managed and also poorly staffed and complaints are not taken serious unless its by a favored person and then other complaints are hidden and lies get told because of the staff and management who fear their district and corporate management. This store needs evaluated and cleaned up and maybe replace those people who are always causing trouble or in the middle of trouble or who torment other employees and maybe the turn over would slow down and the store moral can be picked back up.

IHOP - how your food is being cooked

You should be very concerned on who & how your food is being cooked. As a cook for IHOP everybody doesn't have the same work ethic as I . But my main concern is that the food that is being prepared is it safe? In my many of years working in the restaurant business i have never seen anything like this (EVER). I have personally witness the Cross Contamination...

IHOP very bad management

I just Quit my job at the Logan Ihop, the way they are allowing that place to be ran is so wrong, the new manager in charge is so rude, and has not got a clue about how to manage or lead a staff, she is so worried about the drama that goes on in her own home, and brings it to work with her, drug dealling, drinking, fighting, and her family and their problems, she is the worst manager i have ever had, the company really needs to check who they are letting be in charge of that place, it is a nightmare, bad choice on there part... She told me not to throw something away that the date was expired, just change the date is she trying to kill someone, Karlene is the worst manager in the restaurant buisness, she calls every server in there dumb, worthless, and says that the cooks are stupid mexicans and need to go back to mexico where they belong. Thank goodness I got out of there it was emberasing to say I woorked for Ihop, people call it the cockroach, the only thing is is doing is destoying the buisness complaining about all the hours she is working and not getting paid enough, who cares about her finances, the employees dont, I will never eat in that place again it is disgusting.

This IHOP is very bad for not only the customers but even worse for the staff. Night management yells at servers in between the front doors of the restaurant. Welcome to IHOP to watch our disgusting display of public humiliation before you are fully in the building. The manager is very short-tempered and downright rude to the staff. Cooks threaten and scream at waitstaff in front of management, yet no action is taken to stop the scene in front of customers. Night management doesn't even know the menu, and very loudly in front of customers has actually asked a member of waitstaff if the never-ending pancake special comes with pancakes. Servers are punished for calling the district manager and the cooperate office when their checks are: 1. Not right for their hours; 2. Not right for tips reported; 3. Not the correct amount. False write-ups are made to fire people they don't like or people managers are threatened by. Management even writes up employees for doing things management tells them to do. For example: management tells servers not to allow people over the age of 12 to order from the kids menu, then when the server doesn't let a 35 year old woman order off the kids menu the server gets wrote up. Management also tells servers not to charge VIPs for or police officers for their drinks, then when the server doesn't charge for those drinks the server then gets wrote up yet again. Management makes up a lie that the server swore and said things that were never said yet again writes the server up and suspends the server. The server then asks to see the tape of this happening and suddenly the manager claims there is no sound on the tape which is another lie. Then the same manger that claims there's no sound on video tape claims that it was heard on video tape that the server told a customer her phone number and was discussing IHOP personal business with a customer. In actuality the server simply said to a personal friend, "hey give me a call I want to talk to you about something later because I can't right now." All the server wanted to discuss was going to the club they work at with a mutual friend of theirs to cheer him up in hard times. In return, the general manager has fired a cook that was there for years and actually told members of waitstaff it was because that cook knew more then he did. After working in different IHOPs in the state of Oklahoma for over 5 years as not only a server, shift leader, crew chief, manager on duty, and a manager for many years my employment has come to an end due to a managers lies. Time and again is has come up that this manager feels threatened because either I or someone else knew how to do our jobs as well as management's jobs.
I am not writing this as any form of attempt to "save" myself or even my job, but rather to warn people of what is truthfully going on in this store. Maybe this might stop a few people who don't deserve this fate which I have been talking about in this complaint. I would gladly have even included my name for all those who I have either served or worked with who know that I "do not" lie, as well as for all of those IHOP supervisors that are fully aware of my work ethics. However, I am unable to give out this information due to fear of legal actions for "disclosing company policy." If they are suing "The International House of Prayer" which is a church, why wouldn't they sue me?

Lying about a place any where you have worked shows how incredibly immature you really are and the fact you have to put names and personal anything in a comment that is supposed to be about the restaurant goes to show how unprofessional you must be, I have been in there lately and though not perfect defiantly improving, not sure anyone new at a job is perfect, but much more pleasant then managers I have seen in there in the past!

IHOP bad managment

I wish to mot be known, I still work at the Logan Ihop I want to keep my job, but I over heard the new manager and two of the servers commenting on how they got the General Manager fired... they were very excited about hurting her reputation, and making her look really bad to the area directer, he didn't want to hear the good things about the manager just the bad, she was black balled. I am now looking for another job, but wanted to say that there is something wrong with the way things work in this restaurant. The new manager is evil, cold hearted and knew just what she was doing to make the general manager look bad, go behind her back and talk to all of us, and at the same time no do her own job... she is evil and calculated

I was recently at the IHOP in wausau, WI and the manager "Elsa" was arguing with her seemed to be boyfriend of not coming home. I dont know what kinda buisness you all run but how would it ever be ok for a manager to be dating a cook. Seems to me that would cause a little bit of problems (which i have seen with my own eyes). I called the store trying to get some info so i could talk to someone above the store manager. As I was calling for info I found out that the sister was the managers boss? WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS WOULD ALLOW THEIR REGIONAL MANAGER TO HIRE FAMILY AS A MANAGER? Conflict of interest? Cause when you call the regional manager about the problem nothing seems to get done! I think it is so rude to go into a restuarant to eat with your family and have to hear the employees arguing! Then when trying to get something done, you get pushed away like its no thing! I had to look on the internet and found a number out of this state to a diff IHOP which the manager then helped me find this.. Thank You!

IHOP stolen credit card information

Overly friendly waiter gave me my check and stated this is your check and as a courtesy I will take it up for you when you’re ready: Sunday afternoon meal turned out to be the meal from Hell. Three hours after my departure, someone went on a shopping spree. Luck alee the credit card company caught on and stop the card but not until they had spent over $400.00. It’s a damn shame. I’m so angry and I feel so violated. Better background checks.

IHOP management

Im am an employee at ihop on warwick blvd, and really love the job but we have very bad management the employees dont really have a voice in the store .The general manager has the part owner which is a cook and his wife which is a host running our store because hes scared of them.Every time an employee has a problem they fill like theres no one to go to!The part owner is disrepectful and down talks everyone so its no point of even talking to him his wife is rude and barks orders all day and had the employees moods messed up all day, when we all try to be happy at work. Its seems like they are on a power trip and want eveything there way our GM evan says this. The part owner which is a cook and his wife which is a host fuss in front of everyone. All the employees start wispering when they see the part owner come because they know hes going to be walking arround with a nasty negative attitude. When he is on the line in the back everyone prints there checks to one side cause they know hes just going to talk junk about any mistakes evan if its his fault! Its really sad when the employees go to the GM he acts like his hand are tied. His wife is once again a host and never is in uniform and eats what ever she want in the dinning room smiling. And they made a women that almost there age cry at work by telling her she was dirty, an I think she had a clean apperance, shes a grown women it hurts my fillings hearing this. The host christine comes in any kind of way she wants. The partowner is very very unsanitary and eats over the grill and never washes his hands! Someone needs to do something.I fill bad for the Gm he barely has controll the tell him what to do and I have worked at plenty of restaurants and never seen this before very unprofesional by me doing this is to help everyone cause people are scared to speak up to them!

I have been a regular customer of this particular establishment for years, and for the most part the service and food is good. But as a business owner I must say that the way the manager speaks to her employees is despicable. Furthermore on or around 7/27/15 I witnessed a female employee named Kristina standing over by a neighboring business smoking out of a glass tube pipe. I have photo's and video of workers standing behind the little shed out back smoking marijuana, you can also smell it really strongly as you are going into the restaurant. I have witnessed this also while the male evening manager was standing outside with them. I have heard some of the waitresses make comments about the cooks getting drunk on the line. The name mentioned was Seven and I believe Brian. And the manager is supposedly aware and does nothing about it.

First of all let me explain that IHOP has nothing to do with the staff and can't tell the owner what to do or how to manage his or their employees. Second and last, if the employees are being treated unfairly and you have proof and documentation and you may be able to to file a complaint with the labor board or even file a law suite. There is always a third choice, quit and more on to another job. There are plenty of jobs out for those who are willing to work hard.
