Ian Travel Services did not pay hotel

When we called Hyatt Regency for room reservations we were unknowningly diverted to Ian travel services whose representative acted as if she was a Hyatt representative. Ian charged our credit card $1320.48 to reserve 2 rooms for 3 nights. When we arrived at Hyatt there were no room reservations for us. When we called Ian we were told that they would pay Hyatt so we stayed after giving Hyatt our credir card # as normally required. Now Hyatt charged my card $1426.74 for the rooms and Ian keeps hanging up on me when I call to question them. Once their rep. discovers why I am calling we get disconnected. Hyatt has had identical problem. My credit card co. cannot do anything as Ian posted charges in July of 2009. Please do not ever get fooled into doing business with Ian travel services.

On 10/21/09 a charge appers on my bank statement for IAN Travel service for $147.60 and then the same charge in the same amount appear on 10/28/09. I am really pissed of all the running around I'm getting. I want answers and I want them now before I file a police report. To my knowledge I did not authorize these charges.

I've never heard of IAN Travel Services, however, they have somehow got my credit card number and charged me £180.00 for a holiday booking I know nothing about. Another unauthorised debit was made the previous day for a ferry crossing. Something tells me these must be connected as it seems too much of a coincidence.

We bought a package with Airgorilla.com and cancelled, we got the money refund for the hotel and shuttle but not the airline. We called Airgorilla to know what happened with the air fare refund, these were refundable, and they now say that they are Ian travel, we dealt with airgorilla not ian travel, now they are saying that they did all they could to get us our money back but cannot do anymore, we have to contact the airline (usairways) for our refund. WE tried and tried and got tired of being push back and forth, costumer service lack of knowledge and now they are washing their hands and pocketed our air fare money. I didn't know these two companies were connected (airgorilla and ian), we are persuing with the airline now since tried with the travel agency with BBB and nothing happened. Beware of IAN AND AIRGORILLA!

Ian Travel Services Cancellation of reservation

Dear Sirs,

I made a reservation at the Borghese Art Palace Hotel in Florence for :

- a single room from 22nd Sept. until 25 Sept. at the name of Philippe Buhler

- reservation number at the hotel : [protected]

I tried to cancel the reservation beginning of Sept. because on that period we still are in Sicily. But the hotel confirmed to me that it was effected through Expedia.com but Expedia.com confirmed that the reservation has been made through IAN Travel Services.

EUR 360, - have been debited with ref. IAN Travel Services.

Is it too late to cancel? It has effectively been made throug your agency?

Best regards,

Philippe Buhler

I have the same situation.

Reservation Ref No. : [protected]

Reservation made for May 05, 2010 to May 08, 2010 in Bangkok, Pullman Bangkok King Power hotel. Due to the political demonstration, we cancelled out trip to Bangkok on April 11, 2010. When requested refund for reservation, we were informed that it is non-refundable.

The online Asiaweb Direct and Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel confirmed that the reservation was made via a Travel Agency and that agency is IAN Travel Services. C$285.48 is debit from my credit card on Jan 12th, 2010.

Please like to have our refund money back.

Disappointed.

Ian Travel Services Unauthorized Charges

IAN Travel Services charged me over $250 and I have never even heard of them. I booked my hotels through hotels.com when I was in Prague. I notice that another victim of IAN Travel said that it is a subsidiary of hotels.com and maybe that is how they got my credit card number. There are also a lot of scam artists in Prague and it seems that there are foreign branches of hotels.com so that might also be how they got my information.

Ian Travel Services false charges

This company put over $7000 in fake charges on my credit card, including $4500 on Air France and $600 on Delta. When you try to call the reference phone number from the credit card statement [protected]), you get a non-descript phone tree system announcing that you've reached the "Customer Care" dept. After several tries, and finally getting a live person, I found out that the 800 number belongs to Hotels.com, which owns IAN Travel Services. The only advice they gave was to call my credit card company, which I did. Watch out for this company. They are being flamed by many unhappy rip-off victims.

I have a charge on my credit card for $1332 from IAN Travel Services that I didn't make. I can't reach them by phone. I see that lots of other people have had the same terrible experience with this company. How do they get away with it? They have essentially robbed me of $1332!

Ian Travel Services [redacted]

I booked a hotel room on www.despegar.com, which at the same time, used the network of www.hotels.com.
Finally, a month later I got my credit card report which stated that I had been charged twice the same amount of money by IAN TRAVEL SERVICES.
Then I found out this latter company is specilized in ripping off people. I was amazed that I had been charged twice, as a wrong duplicate charge by this IAN TRAVEL SERVICES, if I had to pay just once, and in any case, to Despegar.com, not to Hotels.com or to this IAN TRAVEL SERICES.
I have found out this companies have a lot of complaints for charging people for services unexisting or duplicate charges as if it was a naive mistake. However, according to what I have read on the web and to my own experience, it is practically imposible to claim the money back from this IAN TRAVEL SERVICES.
BE AWARE!

We just had a VISA bill that had a line for £50.06 from Ian Travel Services that we queried (and were shocked to find how often they've falsely billed people - not just as listed on this site, loads of google hits), but we eventually traced it back to a booking that we had actually made through www.hotels.com and we had the print-out in a drawer to prove it. False alarm this time.

An individual (very likely from UK) used my Master Credit Card from Credit Agricole bank, city- Le Palais, France (I can give this credit card number by phone at any time, i had to desactive it from my bank on 15/09 at police station of la defense, Paris). this person extracted 691.40 € from my bank accnt in 2 days, buying travels through Ian travel services, jet4you, norvegian air shuttle and meetic web. compagnies. The amount for travel debited from IAN Services is 366, 56 €, then credited on back on same day for 365, 55 € on my account (the fraud was done by someone was pretended to be from "paypal organism to protect myself from frauds on Web) . if you would have any email corresponding to that individual, i would grant you to contact me at phone [protected] . The police and myself are trying to find this person to avoid this pb. to spread out; this is absolutely not ethic and should be punished so this person learns about the law, and ethic rules in life. my valid mail is : ansquernelly@free.fr . i thank you warmly for any assistance you can bring here. Ian Travel Services Credit card has been debited but did not make any booking with the agency

Credit card has been debited but did not make any booking with the agency.
I booked hotel through Hotwire.com and flight through Continental Airlines home page and in addition of confirmed payments there was a separate extra 581.32sek (~$75) for IAN Travel Services which wasn't included in either of the reservations.

I saw there were other complaints concerning IAN Travel Services - I wonder if anybody has got any explanation or solution?

FRAUD! I called to make reservations on May 20. 2009 for the Riverside Ramada in Casper, WY for June 16th. I was assured that that was done and $80.35 was debited from my account. I called to make sure and was told that a Laurie at the motel had confirmed it. I arrived in Casper on the 16th. THERE WAS NO RESERVATION. I paid $106.92 for a room which was billed to my account on June 19th. So I'm home trying to get things straightened out. The only people I can talk to are off shore. They say they can't put me through to a representative in the US. The individual I talked to told me that he called the motel and was told I wasn't charged. Then he told me IAN Travel Services had offered me $50 dollars but I have to use it through them. I ask you, WHY WOULD I WANT TO DO THAT? I want my $80.35 back plus the $106.92 I was out equalling $187.28. I don't seem to have any recourse. I've been scammed and I can't talk to anyone who will take responsibility.

I will be calling this state's attorney general and trying to get this outfit shut down. I don't have that kind of money to throw around and I don't need to travel for hours only to find out that I don't have a place to stay.

Just opened my visa statement this morning, expecting the bill for Hotels.com. We booked through them for a stay in Ireland in July. Not only did I get this bill but an amount of 287.88 from IAN Travel Services, who I have never heard of, as well. Cannot get through on their tel no and after reading the above complaints can see it has happened many times. I have no idea where this amount has come from cos I have never spoken to anyone at IAN Travel. It is disgraceful that they can just debit your card, now I have the hassel of contacting my bank to try and claim it back.

We were also overcharged after a stay at the Radisson Ambassador in Puerto Rico this january. Our charge was to be $56 and our Visa statement had a bill of $359! We've gotten ZERO satisfaction from Hotels.com, the Radisson, or anyone else involved because they keep pawning everything off on IAN Travel Services. We never knowingly did business with IAN Travel Services, nor have we been able to contact anyone associate with them. We live in Ireland and, after months of trying to contact Hotels.com or IAN by any other means but email, have found none of the fax or telephone work! Any idas of where to take this next?

I also had fraudulent credit card charges made by Ian Travel Services, or someone using my info with them.

Any- and I mean any- effort on their part to identify the purchaser as legitimate would have easily uncovered the fraud.

They did nothing, and based on my experience and others I have read of others having similar complaints, I will never trade with ITS and would not recommend them to anyone else.
