I signed online for this card February 2, 2007, thinking that it was a mastercard or visa. I waited two weeks for the card to arrive. Meanwhile then took the 79.95 from my account immediately. When the card arrived I was stunned to see that it was neither a mastercard nor a visa. You have to log into a site and shop for their products and they say they report this to TransUnion. I sent two emails immediately for they was closed. I told them that I thought they were dishonest and that they had deceived me. The very next day I got three emails from this company and also called and was told they would credit me 34.95 back to my account. I said I would contact my attorney general office, then I was place on hold. Okay, we will credit you 59.95 back. I said, you took 79.95 from me, I want all my money back for I never used any of your services nor did I order any of your junk. Needless to say, 20.00 is still outstanding and it will fight for it. Below is a couple of emails from this company.

I am sorry that you feel you were "scammed". First and foremost, remember that the Horizon Gold Card was designed to help people re-establish their credit. Is this what you are looking to do? It's difficult and very risky to offer high-end items to a customer base that is rebuilding credit. Plus, large items are expensive to ship.

Credit works the same whether you are using a credit card on a shopping site or to purchase gas. Our card is a true credit card that reports back to a major credit bureau every 30 days.

We do have a partner site we can provide you with that offers a Visa. They do require an employment check as well as a credit check. Is your credit score high enough to support being approved for a Visa right now?

Being very familiar with our advertising, I know that Horizon Card Services does not advertise our Gold Card with a Visa or MasterCard logo. That WOULD be deceitful. We also make ALL Terms and Conditions available to applicants during the application process. I've attached a copy in order for you to review again.

We do require all of our customers wishing to cancel to call our Member Services at toll free 1.800.251.6144.

I am very disappointed in this company. I never thought I was getting a card to shop online for the garbage that I see on the site. I really feel scammed by this company and will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I have received lots of emails from those who have been scammed as I have or have their own doubts about the company. Most have requested a valid number to call. Here is the number to call immediately to cancel.

These people said that i could use this card any time and now i can't even get logged on to their website to do anything. When i first got the card i called them and told them to refund the money that they took out of my acct because i had changed my mind. Well they talked me into keeping it and refunding half well now when i get done, they will do more than refund the rest of what they owe me.

I applied for what i thought was an actual credit card. Was happy when i was approved but when the card came with the paperwork it is actually a card for credit with an on-line company. I am not a dumb person, the ad and application were made to seem like something other than what it is. I am sending it back un-used and hope i can get this removed from my credit... You can't even access them on-line with the website given to cancel the card.

I thought I was getting a Horizon Gold MasterCard and when I recieved it today(09/11/2007), there wasn't even a Visa or Mastercard Logo on the card, come to find out it is a on-line store full of garbage. I payed them through my checking account 79.95 for a mastercard, not a on-line store with junk on it!I sent a E-mail to feedback@thehorizonoutlet.com asking for my refund and to close the account... Haven't heard nothing yet!

Want refund. Was mislead. I don't need more bills. Thought this was a card to help me improve my credit. It is not.
Calling the bbb... And, an attorney if i don't get a full refund immediately.

The same thing happened to me about a week and a half ago. when I received this card it said horizon. and I applied for a NET FIRST credit card. I called customer service and was told that i did not have to keep the card but it will still drop my credit score because I ordered the card and they ran my credit but if I kept the card (didn't have to purchase anything from their P>O>S website) that they will report it to the credit company every month and they would continue to charge me. Someone said in a comment that it was dollar store crap and I honestly have to agree with them. Not only are the items crap, they charge you double and the shipping cost... Please if you read this before purchasing the NET FIRST card, """DON'T BUY IT!"""

i jsu wanted to say that this place is a scam.m ex put in my bank account info and they deducted the money from my account but when i tried to get intouch with them..they wouldnt respond to me..jus let me say that this accoount was in my name not his and i hav a very limited income due to the fact that im disabled with brain damage

This is not a Visa or Mastercard. I thought I was applying for a Visa/Mastercard so I could start to rebuild my credit but that was not the case. They deducted the amount from my bank account. They said they would send me an email about my account set up & it never came. Do not apply for this credit card is is not what you think. Luckily I monitored it, called my bank and got the withdrawal stopped. Save yourself the trouble.

i called to canceled my card and they said it will better my credit i have not used this card and its still in the envolope all they be taking out there 29.99 and 19.99 every two weeks

i was sent this card. i didnt want it. i cut it up and sent it back months ago. my checking account is still being charged $15.00 a month. what do i do?

I received my preapproval credit card postcard in the mail and I too was excited because I am trying to rebuild my credit.
So I paid the $80.00 fee last week and waiting for my card.
Now I wish I would have checked into this further. I am going to call and get my money back. I havent received the card yet.
So does anyone have any idea who I need to call and a phone number?

I applied thinking it was a credit card. That is how it read and was advertised. When I found out I had been lied to I demanded my money refunded. They refunded my money and I warned them if any more money was taken from my account. They would face a lawsuit. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB.

I applied for the Horizon Gold credit card because they advertised building up you credit if you had a bad credit rating. I lost my business in 2009 and had to file bankruptcy. The card is a scam because they do not report to the credit bureau. You have to buy their "junk" then pay their enormous percent plus pay a $8.40 for shipping and $8.80 handling on a $7.00 item that I was going to try to see what they did, on something that would fit in an envelope. They charged me $24.95 each month that is bank drafted that I did not authorize. This has been going on since May, 2011 and I now have to close my account just to get out from under it and I hope they try to come after me. THIS IS JUST NOT RIGHT. Everyone should have to obey the same laws. If I did this, I would still have 41/2 years to serve behind bars.
They will not answer the phone, email or snail mail. There is no way to get in touch with them to talk this through. Someone has got to do something to stop this kind of business practice.

Lead me to believe that I could order a computer or laptop with credit card from the outlet store but not true. They don't even sell any in the store. You can't even order, it sends you through alot of changes and you still can't order.

I wanted to see if i qualified for this card and it said no fee to sign up absolutley free, but then when i got my bank statement not only did it take money out i did approve but it gave me over draft fees! I would like the money put back not to mention the over draft fee fixed as well.I already made a fraud claim and will be willing to seek legal help if I need to do so!

It happened to me and I had to cancel the bank which associated with this transaction. They billed me $4.95 for membership fê but only get the money whenever my bank had the fund available. What kind of company like that?, if they're real they would cancel my membership for membership non-payment. This is a scam, they will get our money no matter what

I haven't even been accepted as a member of this company yet and the done took 80.00 off my check card and wont reimburst me my money just charged me another payment of 39.95 on march23 2013 i'm not a member also charged me a payment of 39.95 on feburary1 2013...was suppose to reimburst me that payment kept telling me it was pending.. never did now done took this payment without my permission itz just like they stealing my money...y.

I got the application for this card in the mail, and I knew right away it wasn't a major credit card, but it is still a credit card. Any card that you can buy items with, and helps to rebuild your credit by reporting to even ONE credit bereau, is a credit card, you just can' t use it anywhere but the one store. With all that said, I do believe this company is shady. They won't let you cancel, even though they tell you in the terms and agreements that you have 3 days to do so. The thing that gets me the most, is that you can't use their card to pay for shipping and handling, you have to use a different card. I have bad credit, and I am trying to rebuild it, but I have found other ways, other cards that seem a much better fit for me.

The saddest thing to see, out of all of this, is people who have bad credit, and even one credit I read "am in financial mess and need the card to get straightened up a big." OH MY GOD PEOPLE WAKE THE HECK UP! Earth to America! WOO HOO! Getting a credit card WILL NOT FIX YOUR FINANCES! Let me repeat that, getting a credit card WILL NOT FIX YOUR FINANCES! It will only add to the burden, and what the young lady wrote back, is true, why in the heck would they want to send nice stuff to people with already bad credit?! HMMMM how many credit card companies have you all already scammed money from? OH HELL NO SHE DIDN"T! Yes I did, because I've been there, and I know how you all are thinking. i was a member of urs for about 3 month and u all took 24.95 out of my account twice in one month i di not get reimbursed for it even though u said i would and then i closed out my account and was suppose to get 24.95 reimbrsed and did not recieve that either so u all now owe me 49.90 in money back i would like a response back to this or i will go to bbb and let them know my ssn is [protected]

just an FYI for you ###s. READ THE FINE PRINT! Do you seriously think that you would get a credit card to use anywhere for a down payment? that would be stupid business practice. So instead of you people just giving money away look into what your signing up for that's why they tell you to READ THE AGREEMENT. Nor does it advertise a mastercard or visa LOGO!

i applied for the horizon gold card knowing that i would only be able to shop with their online shopping network, but what i didnt know was that they have a plethura of misleading fees. and i havent even spent anything yet and i am being billed what the #@$% IS THAT ABOUT..ALRIGHT SO I GET IT..I dont have any credit so i must really be desperate? NOT! so here is my question to all of you consuners like myself whom have been scammed by this co; I SAY WE BAND TOGETHER AND GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TOGETHER AND SUE THIS MISLEADING CO' RIGHT OFF THE MAP.. I too have been scammed by these people. They sent me an email but you can vet your sweet rearend I will be calling them today to cancel this supposed crediting card. I hate scamming and liars and they are both.
