In April my husband was diagnosed with having a "heart murmur." He left his job in Florida to relocate to Tennessee. After being offered a wonderful job, he had to have the usual drug testing which were all neg. Then the nurse practioner listened to his heart and said you have a bad murmur and need to further have it checked into. Then one thing lead to another and he needed surgery to have the valves repaired. Since leaving the company he was with for over 26 years we had "NO" insurance. I applied online for ins companies that covered "pre-existing" conditions. We found Homeland Health Care. What we thought was a great ins plan turned out to be the biggest nightmare of all times. We sit now with well over $100.000 in medical bills WE have to pay out of pocket while Homeland health care continues to withdraw $260.00 every month from our account. So my advise to ANYONE who even thinks about going to HOMELAND Health Care AWA Surecare Silver better be very wealthy! They covered approx. $150.00 total of medical costs!

thanks for listening and BE CAREFUL of this company

I have ins. with them and my daughter, they told me to make it retro active for months premiums and submit claims I did and nothing was paid . I made several phones calls and no one returned my calls, I feel as if I've been ripped OFF. They are a very unorganized company, will report them to the better business bureau, so should anyone else, very dissatisfied CUSTOMER...CHEAP QUICK SELL ON GREAT COVERAGE...ALL A LIE!

This company Homeland Health Care has just ripped me off so far for $125 processing fee. They say they will return my $360 for canceled policy within ten days lets see! Seems to me something should be done to hold this firm accountable. How in these terrible economic times and escalating health insurance issues can they be allowed to prey on people. I think they need to be investigated by an official party and held accountable for their deception. Its still going on in 2010.

I had no health insurance and my family chose this plan for me ... they did not send a letter to me requesting additional documentation. They waited for me to actually file a claim (4 claims to be exact) and then just flat out denied them ... when I called and asked when the letter or request was sent she told me "oh, we don't send anything out" ... I got them everything they requested and they still won't pay for any of my claims not even the stated $50 per doctors visit ~ state that they are not that type of insurance and to read my policy. Hmmmm all to get out of paying for $100? And to get a discount on my lab work? You got $170 a month to sit there and deny all claims... great pay someone to tell me I owe!

I too was one of those that was mislead and when I tried to cancel (by faxing in the correct for within the 5 days of payment due), they took out the money from my bank account anyway. When I tried to find out why and to get a refund they stated that the due date was two days from my faxed document...liers! They change the due date to meet THEIR needs...taking money from people that don't have it to give.

Stay away from this company! All I can hope for is that "what goes around, comes around" and they will get theirs!
