Bad services

The paint department is always understaffed. This is the third time that I was not able to get anybody to sell me paint. I walked to the front desk twice to beg for services. Chris at the front desk called someone to serve the paint department. Nobody showed up. I walked back and forth between the front desk and pain department, begging repeatedly for service. Twice, at the paint department, a home depot personnel walked by and promised someone would come to help me. Nobody showed up. I wasted about a half an hour with no help. I had to leave without being able to buy paint for my projects.

Is home depot in yucca valley understaffed?
Must I make an appointment for services?

I hope we will have a lowe's here soon, so I will get better services.

Thank you very much for the comments.
In the meantime, Home Depot is showing efforts to improve their services. The complaint helped. I was told by their personnel that they were understaffed as Home Depot's corporate offices is cutting staffing to save money. We don't have Lowes where I live (yet). If/when there is Lowes, the competition may improve staffing matters at Home Depot.

I went to Home Depot in East West Hwy Hyattsville Maryland. I asked to a young female attendant for a estimate of the cost for 128 lineal foot of fence in the different materials, vinyl, composite and wood.

Before I reached her, I had to wait for her to finish flirting with a young fellow who first was flirting with another Home Depot attendant, and later on with the one who got free and asked me how she can help me. I say "flirting" because at the time the young fellow leaved the store, this attendant spanked his butt as a sign of close relationship.

I won't complaint about their intimacy but I don't know how professional such behavior is accepted by the store rules.

This lady was helpful to show me the different kind of materials, and I gave her my phone number for contact when she has the estimate ready for me.

Besides this estimate, she asked me for address, and phone number again for a contractor to contact me. She made a copy of the plan I made of the project and told me that she will call me on the next day.

Four days have passed and no calls from her.

I guess that Home Depot hires incompetent employees in order to lose money and caused me to go to Lowes, because this is my next step. Home Depot doesn't want my money, and I might spend it in the other store.

I purchased a torchiere floor lamp from Home Depot in Apopka FL. The glass bowl broke and I went to HD to inquire about a replacement globe. The lighting department employee gave me a 800 number to King of Fans. KOF told me it was not their product and gave me a number for Hampton Bay. The HB automated customer service line (God forbid being able to speak with a human), re-directed the call to Home Depot - where I spent the next 30 mins on hold and finally gave up. I am willing to pay for the replacement globe, but where can I buy it? The SKU on the lamp is 162-916 and the UPC is [protected].

I went into the Home Depot kitchen center and had a kitchen design made using the Mills Pride Brand cabinets. We used this brand because we lost our home to a fire and could only buy a few pieces at a time. We were able to purchase all of our bottom cabinets, no tops, no doors and no drawer faces. And then there no longer available to purchase or even order ! I believe that when Home Depot does a kitchen design for someone and then they decide to pull a product from their store they should contact customers just to let them know that the product will no longer be available. They have my name, my design in their computer with the brand of cabinets I was purchasing. I feel that Home Depot dropped ball and now because I cant get the rest of my cabinets I am back at square one.

I have a new door bought at Home Depot last Sunday morning. And we found that we have an etched mark on our glass center of the door. Can't remove that with our attempts. SKU # 785-210.

I went to Home Depot because I thought I would be "safe" and they were a retailer I could trust. How wrong was I. They sent a smooth talking salesman out to the home "to measure". I had no intention of signing a contract but he made a big deal about how good the prices are, that refacing costs half of what it does to get new cabinets and I could get a discount only if I signed that day. If I waited till the next day, no discount. I never fall for this stuff but I thought I was dealing with Home Depot and I could trust them so I signed because remodeling was so confusing and he made it sound so easy. I also thought the price was good because it was about what my neighbor just spent on an identical kitchen. I was wrong though as I later found out my neighbor got the refacing AND granite AND plumbing for the price I paid just for refacing) The salesman also told me that this will all be done in house by Home Depot. That is a lie. Another company named US Remodelers is a subcontractor and does the work, NOT Home Depot. The people at Home Depot won't even help you with it and they tell you to call US Remodelers yourself!

The cabinets look awful. The guy left a huge seam in the middle at eye level. I made him come back and redo it. Then in looking at the cabinets, most of the doors were all hung crooked. They said my cabinets are crooked, not the doors. Well, the old doors were straight...He also did not finish edges or caulk to fill in spaces. Very shoddy work. He was always in a hurry to leave in the afternoons. He also never hauled the old countertops off and left them next to the dumpster which got me a citation. They did come out and redo everything when I complained. But the workmanship is shoddy and the product looks cheap even though they will tell you it is the top of the line. (When the salesman comes he brings a tiny sample and you can't really see how it is going to look) Not only does it look bad but I believe there is deception with their pricing. They cannot tell you how much anything cost or how they arrived at the price of the bid. It is all very suspicious. I since got an estimate from another company and it was 30% less.

Moral of the story, DO NOT THINK YOU ARE DEALING WITH HOME DEPOT BECAUSE THEY SELL SOMETHING THERE. You are not. You are dealing with another company under contract with them.

I also had alot of problems with the Home Depot people on the other things with the remodel, they were very ill informed and the woman I was dealing with at the store was very rude.

Google NBC Los Angeles and then put Home Depot in Search and you will see an investigative series about Home Depot. I wish I had done this before I went there, I never would have used them. They have actual employees stating how US Remodlers over measures and overcharges customers!

We ordered a new refrigerator, dishwaser, range, and microwave to be delivered and installed by Home Depot. When they showed up they only had the order to install the microwave, so we had to hire someone else to come back and install the range and dishwasher. The kids that delivered the appliances were clean cut, but very careless and not overly polite. They dropped the refrigerator and dented it taking it off the truck so we had to refuse delivery on that. They then proceeded to break the tile off the kitchen counter. My 10 year old witnessed one kid break it and the other one hide it in the drawer. Not only did they try to hide it, but they lied and said it was already broken. We had closed on the house the day prior...it's brand new and was NOT broken. After two attempts to have Home Depot take SOME sort of corrective action to no avail, we decided to hire someone else to fix it and simply never do business with any Home Depot ever again. I am a disabled veteran with 1 leg and cannot do things as easily as I once could, so I expected a big name like Home Depot to provide quality, dependable, and honest service. They in fact provided quite the opposite on all counts. I spent almost $8000 at Home Depot and it was one of the worst purchasing experiences of my life. Never again!

Almost every time I am in that Home Depot same thing happens in almost all the depts. They lost my business on a kitchen remodel. Presently I need rehab in all other rooms and may end up going else where with better service, also, Lowes has 10% coupon in USPS change of address packet, and Sears has a 25% discount on appliances in the packet. When I explained situation to staff, they seemed to care less if they lost my business.

My dog broke mine and I have just started trying to get it replaced. The rep at KOF said that the UPC number is wrong and to look at the label on the casing under the lamp for the correct UPC. I will try and let you know how that works out.
