HSI is simply one of the weirdest and possibly worst companies I've ever worked at in my entire career. Here's a list of things I hated about the company and the people who run it:

1. 3 step interview process only to find out you're paid $12/hour - what a joke.

2. A requirement to memorize their "cheesy" script word for word - created by their douchebag CEO!

3. If you're a smoker or if anyone reports that you've been seen smoking in/out of work, you're fired.

4. If you're caught wearing "fur" of any kind - you're fired.

5. Audio & video surveillance at all times inside the building so their CEO can whack off to his employees.

6. Arrogant and ignorant managers employed by the worst CEO i've had the "privilege" to work for.

7. A company trying it's best to have a corporate environment but runs things worst than a really bad used car dealership.

8. CEO is being sold to employees and potential employees like he's some type of role model or the next best thing since the Dalai Lama.

9. CEO's beliefs being "encouraged" to employees like veganism or following a vegetarian lifestyle.

10. I've seen firsthand for the first time in my life the CEO of this company with close to 100 employees berate, embarrass and cussed one of his entry level employees in front of everyone.

11. Employees who've been there awhile seems like they live in fear when they're at work. They're aware of every little rule and regulation the company rolls out.

12. Promises of advancement and the possibilities of making money, as long as you're ready to give up your freedom and individuality.

13. I can go on and on but I'll stop here at number 13. Understand that working for this company means slaving away for the CEO, stroking his ego while you get f**** from behind. The turnover there is so high, so if you wanna experience it firsthand apply today!

I interviewed for a position with HSI and it was the worst job interview of my 30 year career. It was more of an attack than an interview. From the moment I walked in the door I was badgered about how "ridiculous" my salary requirements were and it deteriorated from there.

The two individuals conducting the interview were disrespectful, ignorant and unprofessional. One of them is the owner's sister so apparently she felt it was safe to act unprofessionally without fear of retribution. If they were putting their best foot forward, I pity the people who actually work for them.

I've since been told by a former HSI employee that excessive, abusive and filthy language are the norm from Sr. management there and the owner has gone as far as threaten physical violence to any who dare cross him.

Salaried employees punch a time clock and their hours are closely monitored. There is video and audio surveillance throughout their facility that is touted as "security" but known by employees as a tool for spying by the crazy CEO. None of the major recruiters will do business with HSI anymore due to contractor complaints. If you are looking for a job and come across an ad for this place, just keep on looking.

The CEO is definately some one who loves himself. He believes himself to be the next coming of Christ. He is the mesiah and people should bask in his glory. All praise Craig Morganson. Just ask him, he'll tell you how lucky you are to work for his company and how great he is. SCARY.

A "No Politics Cultures" - what a joke. It's more like "Resistance is Futile." Conform and do it his way or "your fired."

Complete psycho. Run away from HSI.

This is the worst job you could ever have!! The CEO is the scum of the earth. when you first start working there they sell you on the position...just like the timeshares that they service. after a few days you realize why everyone walks around with their tails between their legs. one day the CEO calls people in the office...he starts screaming and banging things around so hard that you can see the dust from the door fall to the ground and his computer is momentarily lifted from his desk!! he is the definition on psycho! i just don't understand how the company has come as far as it has!!

I worked for this company ONLY for 4 months and it was the worst compnay I had ever worked for. Talk about dicrimanation, like the previous person stated, if you are a smoker you are subcet to termination. The moral in the company is lower then you can imagine. You go in to work just to find out that everybody hates everybody, the pay is sucky and if you point out suggestions on changing any procedures you are blown off "HARD", "this is not your responsability, i'm writing you up for talking to me that way" things like that. Craig Morgenson is really the WORST person to work for in LAS VEGAS, no no, in THE USA. He is mean to his employess, and their turnover rate is sooo... high, they have a max. of maybe 70 employes and in one year they have already turned over 400 people, WHY??? BECAUSE THIS IS A SUCKY COMPANY and they scam their "clients". Why does the BBB even let this company exist???? TERMINATE THEM!!!
455 days ago by Mr X  [send email] -6 Votes
try working there... micro-managed is an understatement. Craig Morgenson is an *** to the highest degree. He manages by fear & thinks of himself as the greatest thing since viagra! if you ask someone what they make, its a terminable offense. if your a smoker, its a terminable offense, if you don't follow "the script when calling Mr Morgansen"... its a terminable offense! & he gets off on it. Sick stuff!!!

The nut case EO hired his sister as VP. she has the personality of a rock, has absolutely zero management skills and dresses like she's still in her twenties. She will be responsible for the companies demise. HSI's reputation as the worst employer ever is now circulating with management candidates and they are staying away from HSI. I cannot understand how an employer can treat so many employees so poorly and still be in business. There "Benefits" are actually almost all lies:
1. Free lunches - Yeah right. You have to pick froma select menu, you only get 30 mintues to get and eat your lunch, you cna't order as a group, so every individual has to place an order.
2. Child Care- Complete lie!! Doesn't exist.
3. Medical Benefits - They tell you it's great coverage and a $50 co-pay per month. In actuality it's $50 a month for an individual and $129.00 per pay period for a family plan. So that's $258 for crap.
4. Time off - PLEASE. No one lasts long enough to be eligible for it and if you are, you're shot down when you ask for it. If you are in Managment, forget it. No time off, no such things as holidays and coming in late or leaving early is considered an "absentee problem." Forget th fact that the CEO ans VP make up their own schedules and would be considered attendance problems if they were held accountable to their own rules.
5. Good Pay - Not.
6. Merit increases - No such thing.
7. "No Politics Atmosphere" - Yeah right. Kiss the CEO and VP's a** or ego and your in.
8. Healthy living- Sit at your desk, never get up, no talking all day every day. This is the most un-healthy work place ever.
9. Employee recognition - Two employees recognized, for all of 2007, as contributing. Two in twelve months.
10. Employee Appreciation Party - What a joke. It was made mandatory, rule of behavior with the threat of termination circulated before the party, promise of all kinds of prizes but only have were actually given out, the vcations given away were never paid out because they are for HSI employees only so once you leave or are fired you can't use them. Complete PR stunt to feed the CEO's enormous ego.
11. Management has to clock in and out for everything. No holidays, expected to work weekends, humiliated by the CEO's temper tantrums over the most childish things imaginable. I'm talking screaming at the top of his lungs because he did't get the right kind of pen. NUT JOB.
12 VP (Sister) - Totally unqualified and no experience for such a position. Quickly turning the company into a looooser. No people skills.

Stay away from this pathetic employer. Once the economy picks up, they won't be able to get a single candidate and most emloyees will leave.

Danger!!!

Hey!

Its just funny whats going on there! I am from Germany worked about 12 month over there and (no joke) the complete staff changed during my stay hehehe. Really in Germany just impossible that a company like this would operate in this way.

They paid me not bad for a training $14 since they need someone speaks german. Well it is a company making money with traveling but

-- CEO thinks really in Germany everyone speaks Russian
-- a timeshare is a good investment

OK lets kalkulate for all believers:

Lets say 30.000 USD a timeshare: If you are not american bring your money to a bank account get 5% a year

which makes $1.500 a year without losing your bugs. Takes this and stay a week in a resort.

However it was a great time for me - not because of HSI but for the people I met there. They all scared because of a guy how not respect other style of life. The reason is just simple: His wife left him and he learnd money is not everything.

If you search a job for a few weeks it is OK. Nothing more!

You're all worthless and weak. You're fired. You loosers. You should be greatful to be in the presence of greatness. Do as I say, not as I do. If I'm feeling down, I just fire someone and poof - I feel better. So the benefits are all a lie and only in my head, so what - your fired. I'm great, you suck. It's your fault I fired you for giving me the wrong answer. Get out before I kick your ass. I look great in my biker get-up, just ask me.
Please come to work for me. At least for a couple months, so I can catch up and then I fire you. Have you seen the unemployment rate? We can sift through the garbage and hope to come across a few stars. HSI is more important than family or friends. I don't have any friends and there is nothing wrong with me. Are you paying attention? Cause if you're not paying attention to my every word, you're fired!!!

Love God, I mean Craig.

I interviewed for a position today, after being asked to wait a "few minutes" to meet with the CEO. That "few minutes" lasted two hours. When I did meet with him, he had the nerve to say that I should be grateful that he could spare these few minutes to interview me, all while he munched down lunch in front of me. He belittled my resume and experience, and told me that he would have a problem if the person filling the position were not at work everyday. Well, I'm a single mother with a young daughter. I've been unemployed since January and in desperate need of a job, but I prayed after the interview that I AM NOT offered this one. He's a jerk!

According to the comments, HSI deserve to close. They only problem come from the people who work there. By the law is possible to chick the CEO out and conserve the Company? I was working there and I searching for a new job but without any lucky, I got cut and fired. What I can say is that all the comments are true. STAY OUT OF THERE!!!

I'm yet another former employee that is completely agreeing with this posting. There are 3 main problems with this company (Craig, Laura and Neil); if you know those names then you know what I'm talking about. The negativity starts with the CEO and trickles down! Not all of the managers are complete jerks like these three but the top 3 people demand it! They call it being aggressive and the foul language and treatment is justified by their "PASSION" for the company. They treat animals better than they do the people who work for them! I guess because they are Vegan and PETA fanatics. You should worship the ground they walk on for giving you the opportunity of doing contractor work! Why did I use that term?! Cause no one lasts past 90 days because they don't want to pay for benefits. Also they low ball you so bad on the initial offer letter, with the promise that once you get your 90 review that you can get a large raise (maybe more based on performance), that they don't want to pay that either! It doesn't matter if you perform or not, only if you are "Aggressive"! I like to think of that place like a bunch of used car salesmen! So if that is your type of environment, or your just looking for a sexual harassment case go work there!

One last thing since I know they will be reading this, may the force be with you! (Inside joke because Laura looks like Luke Skywalker and should get her money back on the sex change operation)

here is the truth about hsi management from someone that still works there

Craig Morgonson CEO everything about what was said about him is true. he cusses out his employees and he degrades them to make himself feel better about his miserable life.

Laura Johnston VP, not qualified for the position was pressured into it by her brother has to pretend she know what she’s doing not as crazy as her brother, but dresses like a hooker

Neil Snyder ops manager the only person at the company worth anything keeps the company going stays there because ever month Craig has a pick up truck dump a load of cash on his doorstep, that’s the only reason he stays

Marybeth Pascrell HR manger lol dumb as bricks lied on her resume is not an hr director way overpaid has no clue what she is doing. has her generalist cover up for her as much as possible

Joe roller hahaha another one that’s way over paid wont make the money he makes there anywhere else Craig punks him on a daily basis if Craig calls he runs like a little dog not very smart either, but hes loyal to craig that why he still there

By the way the only person that’s been there longer than a year is Neil he actually tried to quit and left for a little while then Craig realized that he had no idea what he was doing and begged him to come back then the truck showed up with alot of money and he agreed all this true.

I read some complaints and skimmer through others. I cannot agree with frustration of people who think they will be earning good wages while working as a customer service representative. I personally think that any customer rep, whether at HSI or at AT&T, should not be getting paid more than $10 per hour. It's a job that anybody can do for which you need basic training (ability to read and recite text) and have some personality over the phone. Why should anyone be get paid more for a job without the need to even have a high school diploma?
I agree with company with respect to smoking and wearing fur.
You all sound very demanding (I want healthcare, child care, etc). HSI should outsource customer center to India and pay little money to a group of people that would be greatful to have work.
439 days ago by Bunch Of Cry Babies - Why?  [send email] -7 Votes
If you read the complains, they are not for wages or money!!!

According with what I am reading, the complains are against the company and the management.
I am not agree with companies who do not respect their own employer, and seem that the management does that.
I would like to know, who, in a better time (economic talking), would like to work for HSI?
Who wants to get insulted, who wants to hate everybody (just because is the company policy), who wants to receive humiliation every day?

I have friend who use to work there... not just in Customer service positions, and believe me... now that they do not work there anymore they are happy (also with low salaries).

Went to interview and sat in the main lobby waiting to take this random test surrounded by those glass windows that you can't see into and you know someone can see you from. Nobody is there to greet potential employees or vendors as you walk in, you get the pleasure of speaking into a wall intercom and are told to wait until someone gets you. Got the scoop from a few employees that the CEO monitors your every coming and going, and that you are not to leave before 5 pm even in a senior management role. You are expected to put in AT LEAST 50 hours with the norm being 60. I think if he spent less time monitoring his senior management, and more time deciding on the direction of the company, they wouldn't be in the mess they're in now. Every recruiter I've talked to will not touch them with a 10 foot pole. Good luck HSI, but this is definitely not a place I will be working in.

I worked a whole 8 days at this company run by Big Brother. Red flags should have gone off when I was hounded about my interview to come in right now, which at the time I couldn't, but I made a few calls, rearranged my schedule and did go in. Then it was, we need you to start tomorrow. It was one of the things I said up front, that I needed a week before I could start. I held my ground on that one, but once I got in there...Holy Crap! I even asked the wonderful Tim Proctor what was the average longevity of his employees. When he told me 1-2 years and I asked why he could not give me a reasonable answer. Red flag should have gone up there too. I had just gotten laid off the month before and thought how lucky I was to find a job so quick - NOT.

All of the above comments are true, but there were 2 issues that topped the cake for me. I was told I had to use my personal vehicle to do a company errand. When I said I wouldn't, another employee told me I didn't have a choice. It was funny, because another employee whispered in my ear, "You always have a choice, get in your car and keep right on going." She quit the next day. It was a few days later over that 'Appreciation' party that finally was the straw on the camel's back.

How do you make a party mandatory and not pay people, yet threaten termination if they don't show up?

That was the end for me, not to mention I have over 20 years of experience (yes I read the comment about people getting paid $10), knew the programs that were being run, but was not allowed to even start answering the phones to do my job until I memorized and "auditioned" those stupid scripts for the owner. I'm proud to say I never had to because I got out before that, but if you are going to make someone be an actor for part of their job you should warn them in the interview so they can make an informed decision.

If you want to feel like crap about yourself and the people you work with, go ahead, work for this company, it only takes a matter of days to see what it's really like.
435 days ago by Tim Proctor  [send email] 0 Votes
Yup, it's the real Tim Proctor.

I'm only posting because someone decided to bring me into this fray. After this I would like to be left out of this.

(1) If you asked me the average tenure for an employee and I said 1-2 years that means that you were either in Management or Programming. Because I always give the turnover rate for that position. If you worked in the Call-Center area I would tell you that I didn't expect you to last past training unless you were a superstar, I'm not interested in mediocrity (I was called the biggest asshole there for a reason). Those are the only two demographics that match those numbers.

1-2 years is probably a conservative estimate, let us think about the Management there at the time.

(For privacy sake I'm using their initials)
Me 2 years
NS 4 years
HW 3 years
TM 5 years
ML 7 years
FG 6 years
JN 3 years
BJ 1 year
JR <1 year
JW 3 years
AL 2 years
RB <1 year
AT 1 year
AB <1 year
TC <1 year

That sounds about an average of 1-2 years. Especially considering that a year ago, there was only 1 Customer Service Manager not 3, there was never a Training Manager before, etc. Which counts for 4 of the Managers under 1 year.

Bottom line is this, I didn't lie. Don't try to say that I did.

(2) Your facts don't match up, so I think that this is a fake post.

(a) If you got laid off a month prior but you needed more time before you could start. You were happy that after a month of searching that you got a job? But you needed more time off before you could start. You mention "so quick" like a month is a quick time to get a job, a month isn't quick.

(b) You said you were hounded to come in immediately, which you couldn't, but made some rearrangements and were able to. You prioritized, thinking that it's better to have a job than not. Then you bitch about needing another week. Doesn't make sense to me.

(c) If you have 20 years experience and within 8 days didn't display the competence needed to take a phone call, you're an idiot. Which is what leads me to believe that you're not in Management, because they don't go through a sign-off process and if you talked to me I would have put you down as a NO HIRE.

Which leaves the logical deduction that you have 20-years experience and have nothing but an $10 hour job to show for it, you lied about the longevity that I mentioned, and you're posting this to make yourself feel better.

I can only assume that you feel that by mentioning my name you're gaining some sort of credibility to your post, which looks to be fraudlent. So it's best to leave me out of this, because unlike HSI I will respond.

I'd also like to point out that when I was there, we never had a complaint string about the employment practices. So pointing the finger at me is really just a stupid idea.

Everyone-

Please leave me out of this.

HSI representatives that read these comments-

I did not post any comments that are negative about HSI whatsoever. I simply stated facts to clear up accusations agianst myself. The accusation was that I lied to people to get them in the door. This is simple false.

I did not in any way violate my DNC agreement and wish to be left alone by your company also.

I worked for this company for a while until I couldn't take it any more. I worked for the HR department and my inmediate boss (MARGARET) was nothing aside unberable, the biggest ass kisser I've met in my life! running her daily hours in complete and profound fear of Craig Morganson; The CEO who acts nothing short of a 3 year old throwing tantrums inside toys'r'us. His standards are high but his quality is low, he's a terrible leader and most of all, a terrible company owner!
The atmosphere in there is nauseating, Craig expects to be treated with the kind of respect a king deserves, yet isn't willing to show respect in return, we were not allowed to say hi to him in the hallways! IT WAS ON THE EMPLOYEE MANUAL!!! His beliefs are shoved down employers troaths, his vegan life style is promoted as well as his love for PETA
He is ignorant as how to treat people, he is completely into himself and expects every employee to be into him too (funny) but one thing that has to be made clear, is that this isn't a popularity contest.
All I can say for myself is that, if you don't really need the job that bad, then definately look elsewhere. There are pages, over pages, over pages about people complaining about HSI both as a company and as an empl0yer, why put yourself in that position? SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND AVOID WORKING FOR CRAIGZILLA.
