HHGregg tv ad

I am Carl Pope from Hickory NC. hhgregg had a TV ad during the week of Labor Day. This ad stated that all items in the store were on sale, for anything $99.00 and more you could get 24 months payment plan. No exclusions apply. I went to the Hickory store at 1843 Catawba Valley Blvd. The store manager advised me he did not know anything about the TV ad, and if this was true the computers will not be on sale. I told the manager that the TV ad stated TVs, Computers and all electronics and more were on sale. I also called the Corp. office of hhgregg at [protected]. I had to call three times and talked to three differen people. None of them could help me and did not know who I could talk to. The last person advised me to send a e-mail to the company. I hope that someone from the hhgregg Corp. office can call me and tell me why this store in Hickory does not honor the sales that your company has on your on TV ad. Thank You Carl Pope

HHGregg worst place ever

07/29/2010
Went to HH Gregg to purchase new dishwasher and stove due to my current stove and dishwasher were no longer working right. Spoke with salesman and was looking at Fridge as well. He told me that the delivery charge was $69.99 and covered delivery and installation of up to 5 appliances. Looked at open box model of Fridge and salesman told me item was new and has never been used before. I bought it along with dishwasher, microwave, and Stove. The sale took a long time to put info into computer and had to have sales manager Jason Mercer come over a few times. As Randy the salesman was entering info into computer he told me that the dishwasher was not covered under $69.99 delivery fee and a separate installation fee would have to be paid. I said I would install myself. Then later in the inputs he told me that the microwave was not covered with $69.99 delivery fee. I said that I would install myself as he told me everything that came with items for an easy install. Left store with a delivery date of 7/30/2010. Took out HH Gregg card for 0% offer on all appliances. All Appliances were Frigidaire Professional Series.

07/30/2010
Fridge, Dishwasher, Stove, and microwave were delivered. The Fridge was hooked up and looked to be working fine. The stove was not however. The delivery guy and partner had dropped the stove which they didn’t tell me they dropped. Had told me a leg was missing on the stove and they should have caught that from the store. He brought microwave and dishwasher in and left stove in garage as it didn’t have a leg. The microwave and dishwasher were missing all parts needed for me to install. The dishwasher was dented on one side that wasn’t there the night before and was missing front plate and all tubes and hoses needed to install. I called the store and they put me in contact with Mary Beth. She had told me she would personally deliver the items needed to install microwave and dishwasher. She brought the items out and told me that someone would be out later to install dishwasher, microwave and stove at no cost to me. She would also credit my HH Gregg charge $100 for damage to dishwasher. Later that day got a phone call from Mary Beth saying that I would have to pay for installation charges for microwave and dishwasher and told her I would not. Hours went by and I had waited most of day for install kits for both items. She finally said they would install items for free. 9:00 p.m. Rusty and his partner came out and did installation with dishwasher and microwave with no problems. The stove however was very bad on bottom and they agreed it had been dropped. They had found stones in bottom legs of stove. When they opened up stove they found the missing leg along with a piece to fridge that was installed. They said that the 1st delivery guy must have put those in there due to the fact that the piece to the fridge was in there as well. They managed after a half an hour with plyars and a hammer to get leg back on stove because bottom of stove was messed up so bad. They were able to get stove in and installed. After they left I noticed stove was not level with counter and could not be moved because bottom was so bad.
07/31/2010
Went into store and spoke with Mary Beth and Jason Mercer. I found another stove to replace the one that was installed. Jason said it was $50 more than the one I had and I agreed with that and had stove delivery and install for next day.
08/01/2010 –Rusty Came out again with partner to remove broken stove and and install new one. No Problems. The fridge that I had bought however has not stopped running since it was put in.
08/02/2010
Spoke with Mary Beth about Fridge and she said they would replace with Brand New Fridge. And would be out on 8/03/2010 to deliver and take out old one.
08/03/2010
No Fridge new fridge no phone call, nothing waited on new fridge all day.
08/03/2010
Later that day got phone call from Repair man and they told me that me HH Gregg called them to look at Fridge.
08/04/2010
Repair man came out and said Fridge was supposed to run all the time that is what makes them efficient. I sat and spoke with him and told him that the fridge has never shut off since I had it. He told me it must have shut off and performed some more tests. He found that the temperature reading were not right with the freezer side of fridge and said he would have to order part. The part was a thermister. Told him that I would see if I could get a new fridge but order part anyway. Time frame the following Tuesday 08/10 2010 part would be in.
08/05/2010
Woke up and went down stairs Fridge was still running and water was all over floor. The temp on fridge was very high and now longer cooling. Went back to store to get new fridge and picked out floor model because that is all they would give me. Spoke with manager CJ and Randy Lighty again. He told me Fridge was new and was just an open box never been used. Set up delivery for next day to be delivered. Randy had told me he had left fridge on at my request to make sure it was working right. After 4 hours I called Randy and he stated that fridge got to temp and shut off and was working. He unplugged it and would be delivered next day.
08/05/2010
Called Ge who handles the credit card for HH Gregg. They had stated that only one item was on promotional rate of 0% for 12 months and the rest were being charged 29.99% interest. Spoke with Josh at store he said he would get it fixed. He said he sent an email to Credit Card Company.
08/06./2010
Old Fridge was taken out and new on was delivered. The delivery guys had installed fridge and after an hour fridge started to make awful noise coming from compressor and was not holding temperature as well.
08/07/2010
Went back to store HH Gregg in Mechanicsburg. I asked Jason Mercer if I could speak with him. I spoke with him and told him Fridge was not working right. He had told me that he would get me a brand new fridge next day for the same price I paid said he would take care of everything.
08/08/2010
Got a phone call from HH Gregg saying the new fridge that they got in was damaged had a dent in it. They would order me a new one and it would be delivered the next day.
08/09 2010.
Called store to make sure fridge would be out 1st thing and or after 3:00 pm. I had an appointment with a potential client and would not be home between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Spoke with Josh and he stated he would keep the delivery time between 1 and 4 p.m. be last stop. When I got home called store again to make sure delivery men did not come out yet. Josh stated they have not and would be out around 4. Got a phone call from Rusty saying he would be there around 5 or after 5. They did not show till 6:00 p.m. Delivery men started to take out old fridge when one of them called me outside to look at new fridge. The new fridge had a large dent in rear corner of fridge and they said that they would bring out a new one first thing in the morning and even marked it on paperwork. Said they would be there maybe 7:15 to 8:15 a.m.

08/10/2010
I woke up at 6:45 to get ready for delivery men. Got a voicemail from Billy stating he would be out between 4 and 7? I called him back and he told me I was the last delivery of the day and I told him I supposed to be the first. He hung up on me. He called me back and stated he lost service. Still no fridge. Billy got here after 7 and they had the same fridge with the same dent in it as the night before. Finally after calling HH Gregg many times they brought a brand new fridge out. Thank to Rusty. He was the only person at HH Gregg that was sincere.
If you decide to buy from HH Gregg you would have made the worst decision in your life. Don’t go through this and go somewhere else. You may have to pay a lil more but its well worth it.

HHGregg whirlpool optium iv dishwasher

I paid (in cash) $550.00 for a Whirlpool Quiet Partner IV dishwasher from HH Gregg. Was Picked up on 6/23/2010. Today is July 13.2010. The dishwasher does not get my dishes clean. I have just unloaded my dishwasher, had 4 dirty pans, 4 pan lids and one bowl that did not come clean. when I called HH Gregg about it, they informed me it was over 14 days and they would have to send me to service. I was under the understanding that there was a years warranty on all whirlpoool appliances, but I am working with my extended warranty coverage. Now, would you want a $550.00 dishwasher setting in your home that does not get dishes clean? I am furious. they are sending a repair man on sat to fix it. FIX IT! why would you need repair on a brand new dishwasher.?

The other day, on Law Talk, they said an employee can fire you for any reason, except for the protected groups. You probably do not have a case against them, since it seems to have been seasonal work, or maybe they didn't like the way you parted your hair. It doesn't matter, as long as they didn't discriminate. Were you always talking religion to them, did you tell them theirs was wrong? Usually when I see a Jewish person, I don't even know they are Jewish. You and the other person who said they were all white at his store, and therefore all racist, will have an uphill battle trying to prove anything discriminatory.
To the person who said they were all white and racist at his store, what was your work ethic like? Constant attitude that had to be dealt with? That doesn't mean racism.

I have done numerous mystery shops for HHgregg. I don't waste their time. We also use to go in there to purchase items. I will no longer do either, becausenof the bad customer service we had for an item we purchased online. Our card was charged, and after 3 weeks we still don't have the item.

HHGregg was scammed at hhgregg store by employee

Warning. Was scammed at hhgregg store by employee. I entered the store after reading that they had 24 month interest free financing on purchases over 397. After talking to the sale person I was informed to get the 24 months on tv's you had to spend 999 or more. So I did. Then I get a my statement from the CC company and they say 24 months on all purchases 397 or more. Long story short I call the hhgregg store where i purchased the products and that is correct 397 or more on ALL STORE ITEMS. I am returning both tv's tomorrow because they only wanted to give 50 dollars of my 1500 dollar bill for their employees mistake. Employees work of commision so it doesn't surprise me some will tell customers different things to get more money in their pockets. Please watch if using there financing.

It's 24 Months on TV's over $999. Once every few months they have a three day special or a week long sale where everything above $397 is 24 months. Sounds to me like a honest mistake on the sales person. You could easily exchange it for the produc you like or take a fifty dollar discount. Why you expect more than $50 is the big question.

24 Months no interest on tv's over 999 is true. They do it all the time and it's twelve months for anything over 397. Every once in awhile they'll have a sale were everything in the stote over 397 is 24 months but it's usually only a three day event and they don't do it often. The sales person most likely didn't realize that the sale had started. Honest mistake on his part.

HHGregg they completed a credit card in my name without my permission

I personally went in to try and purchase a washer and dryer. After telling me they would be able to have the pair delivered to me the next day, I filled out a finance form to purchase the product. They then informed me that they do not know when they would be able to deliver the products. No estimate whatsoever. They then completed a credit card in my name WITHOUT my permission. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and filled fraud on my credit. I cannot believe that they would do this. They wouldn't even give me my personal information back. I suggest no one go to this store! They have caused me such a hassle...‎

ok... first off "I filled out a finance form to purchase the product", but somehow "They completed a credit card in my name without my permission" Really? The terms and conditions on ANY credit card will state that once your signature is on a credit card application, it then becomes property of whatever credit card issuer (i.e. HSBC, GE Money, Citibank, etc). Which is why they can't just give you your credit application back...

also may I add how would they have been able to run a credit application for you without YOU GIVING THE SALESPERSON YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

If you filled out the application and signed off on it then they didn't really do it without your permission. They put the card into the system right in front of you.

HHGregg employee treatment

I am a now former employee of this company and would like to share with other potential employees my experience within the company. I quit around 5 hours ago after a manager (Richard Burdugo is his name) cussed at and threatened my job directly in the middle of fixing a customer's order. The customer, who I had spent 2 hours working with and selecting the correct product, immediately asked for a return. Right after he asked me directly "why do you put up with this" and left.
This wasn't just the last straw, this was one of many.
I had typed a note and handed it to management 2 days ago asking if I could be trained to do PC Optimization. I told them it didn't matter what it took, and even offer to come in on my day off to learn so my sales would be more profitable. Today in our pre-work morning meeting our entire store was yelled at for 30 minutes about our lack of PC Optimization sales. When I told them that over half of the staff did not know how to do this, they said that you should have learned already. I asked again when I could be trained at which time refused to train me.
The main thing I want to get out to potential employees is that their pay structure is not what they tell you in training. We are on a draw system where you go against $7.25 an hour. The problem is, if you are 1 minute over 40 hours, it goes to all of your hours are counted as time and a half against draw. For example, if you work an even 40 hours you have to earn $290 in a week or you go into draw. If you work 40 hours and 1 minute, you have to earn $435.18 to cover your draw. This is not what they told us, this is not what I signed off on, and the have refused multiple times to give me the HR number. I called our Corporate number and complained a week ago when I noticed that pay was off and was reprimanded within the store for doing so, even though they could not give me the answers to my questions which I had asked.
This company is very unprofessional and will tell you one thing and expect another. I encourage any employees with similar complains to post them and to not be bullied around. I kept all of my numbers and paychecks because I believe I will have to go to small claims court to get the correct amount of money that is owed to me. I am hoping they will be willing to work with me to give me what I earned, but if they wouldn't help one of their own employees, how much do I really mean to them as a now ex-employee.

Update by Justin

Just a quick update if anyone still reads this. I got in contact with a lawyer, who contacted the corporate office and about a month later I was paid the difference and I was told by now other former employees that they were given the difference. It took legal action for them to change. My lawyer told me that me keeping the records would have held up in court and that is why they caved in. I hope everyone at other stores does not run into this problem but if they do follow the steps that I did and they will cave upon threat of legitimate legal action. I have had a few lawyers from other state who were facing the same problem look me up and call me as a witness for the same thing happening. Most of the time HHGregg caves in and pays the employee(s) before they are taken to court. If I can do anything to help anyone who runs into this search my name on the internet and my webpage from back in college has a current e-mail address and contact info!

Resolved

Upon getting a lawyer to help me HHGregg paid me and other employees before the case went to court, but it still took a lawyer's actions to get them to pay what they owed.

I'm a current employee and have made overtime draw on just my second direct deposit paycheck. Keep in mind I followed my schedule to a "T" and only stayed when managers directed me to hold from clocking out at my usual time. Somehow I managed to earn 44 hours, 4 hours of overtime and now owe around 370 USD to their draw system. To combat this the direct floor manager (who really cares about his sales team, or maybe just his numbers) ordered {I did not say suggest or advise please note} that I withhold clocking in and make some sells with commission off the clock. The volume at a typical Hhgregg well lets just say its not the volume you see at best buy, lowes, or home depot... so I suspect on my near eight hour shift that I made maybe $20. If your a lead salesman that gets to work during 'peak hours' and can basically call in to work if the volume is low then its a great job. If your a newbie growling for scraps and having to look past the regulars of other salesmen then its insanely harsh. The fact that the federal government allows a draw commission system needs to be analyzed, the company punishes their sales team for their inability to increase volume. This retail corporation barely trains its employees but brags 'best in class training' on the hiring now advertisements. I seriously advise anyone who is desperately seeking employment and considering Hhgregg sales team member positions to rethink that job shoveling fecal matter instead. Hhgregg now bases their draw system on $9.00 an hour instead of $7.25 hourly.

Sorry...this site posted the previous comment to this thread, which was intended for another.

On another note, I am currently employed by hhgregg. I have also noticed the OT draw issues. While it is unfair, there are no federal statutes in place that state that they cannot figure OT draw in this manner. The statute, itself, can be confusing to understand.

BTW...our store had been open for a month when you had posted this thread.

If you filled out a "finance form", then you would have had to have put your personal information on it. No company will grant financing to someone without it. Second, the only financing that hhgregg offers is the hhgregg card backed by GE Finance. There are no other financing options available.

HHGregg threats and harassment over the service contract I didn't buy

I purchased a 42" tele for my parents Friday 11/27 at HH GREGG but have regrets doing any business with them at all. If I had more time (I was visiting from out of town) I would have left the store without further to do. They were not knowledgeable of anything other than their service agreements.

I picked a set out and wanted it rung up quickly because my dad was in the store and I didn't want him to know what I was doing. I explained this to the clerk. He continuously aked me to buy a service contract. The whole service contract thing went on for 10 minutes. He tried to scare me, he told the all the product was crap and I was crazy to go without one (what the hell?) He asked me why I don't buy contracts, he got personal. I finally told him either he ring up the purchase or I'm leaving, his attitude became surly at that point.

I gave him my American Express to purchase (which they take) and he made a half hearted attemp to swipe it, when that did not work he told me my card "must have been blocked".

This whole time I was starting to get the feeling these people only knew how to sell to trailer park trash as their attitude was unprofessional to say the least.

I told him to do it again as American Express never "blocks" my card. He did very quickly and then said I needed to give him another card.

AFter the threats and harassment over the service contract I didn't buy, and the grief over the card when it was obvious to me he was not doing it correctly, I went looking for a manager.

When I found one, I told him what had taken place.

He simply took my card from me, and swiped it; of course it worked. Once the invoice to sign was printed he (the manager) gestured for me to follow him. I wondered what that was about but I followed him to the front door of the store. He had me sign the invoice there, instead of at the desk, right beside the door! Then he suggested I wait outside for the TV to be brought out. He was noticeably annoyed when I turned and walked back to the back of the store (to get my father).

Well, I am a 57 yr old woman and I certainly did not appreciate the condescending and rude behavior of these people, from the manager on down.

I will NEVER walk into HH Gregg again as long as I live, AND I will blog and spread the word. Looks like I won't have to do much though as there seems to be lots of complaints.

I cannot believe a retailer would act this way DURING A PURCHASE! What is WRONG with these people?

The is the Columbus Ga store on Whittlesby Rd at Columbus Crossing. AVOID!

Ok the main problem is she was trying to make a purchase at a store that is full of sales men not clerks. Buy the way who brings their father to a retail store to buy a big screen TV and expect him not to see the big ### box being wheeled out the door. The sales man wanted to explain the warranty to you because when u break the TV he does not want to listen to more of u when try and return it 3 years later .The reason you were asked to go to the storefront was the warehouse staff brings the item to the main doors. You are asked to sign at the door to acknowledge you have received the item you purchase. Just remember the sales man was probably was more put out dealing with a uppity know it all

HHGregg sale item didn't exist

After seeing a sale in the local paper for a Curtis 32" LCD HDTV I went to the hhgregg on capital blvd Raleigh, NC.

3rd time in store, 1st purchase and as expected I get attacked by the car salesman type vultures waiting for there prey to walk in. 1st day of the sale they tell me they do not have it in stock (hmm) and then proceed to try and sell me a higher priced model (of caurse) and they inform me that the sale item won't be here for a month. So I say fine, I'll wait then. So 3 weeks later they call the wrong number (I gave them 2) and tell me they can't get the TV THEY ADVERTISED! and now I have to settle for a lesser model which just happens to be there main brand. (imagine that)

Like most reviews in here I recieved no appology and was told that I could have my money back and walk, so after setting up my system cables, tv stand, dvd player, computer and all the cables for the past 3 weeks I now have to walk out empty handed and begin hunting for another set.

This was my 1st and last experience with hhgregg. I normaly would not go to this extent to complain, but after finding this site and seeing all the negative reviews I just had to help it along. hhgregg should be shut down and I feel that it will happen soon enough.

After walking in the store on 3 occations now and see the store empty of shoppers and full of salesman it's only a matter of time.

HHGregg I am totally dissatisfied with hhgregg

Jan 2008 purchased DVD Recorder, it no longer works. I took it into the store where I purchased and they asked if I purchased at their location -- the address was printed at the top of the page! Then they would give NO indication of when the repaired item was to be returned. I am totally dissatisfied with everything HH Gregg and beyond this will never buy again. I was only allowed to speack to a MIT (manager in training) who obviously did not know anything except doubletalk and evasiveness.

HHGregg do not stand behind their products

So we have purchased many appliances and electronics fron HHGregg so decided to pick up a 61 in. Mitsubishi DLP when they were on sell. We ended up spending a little under 3000.00 and purchased the 3 YR ESP for the TV. Well this was purchased March 13, 2008 and today it went nutso and actually looked as though our TV was in Jail. We called he local HHGregg who said it wasn't a store problem and to contact Corp Service and warranty who then told us they would send someone out in a week.

A freaking week? So my husband calls me to tell me whats going on so I call the store and spoke witht he manager and explained that we have been loyal customers, purchased the ESP for this TV which is LESS than a yr old and we should have a replacement if we are having to wait a week. She tells me only the corporate office cold issue "loaners" and to contact them before 4pm. This was at 3:40pm today. So I promptly caled and waited on hold till 4pm! I guess they were waiting to see if I'd hang up so they could go home for the weekend without dealing with me...wrong!

I was then told my TV wasn't old enough to have a loaner issued and that it was still under the manufactor warranty and the ESP issued by HHGregg wasnt in effect. Fine, then stand behind what you sale to your customer because we are FAR from happy about being without a TV for a week because thi 11month old piece of crap took a dump!

No go..she said it's not HHGregg's fault and they do stand behind their products, but apparently not!
I will NEVER again purchase another item from them and you should also think twice before buying anything there..unless of course you like crappy products with an even crappy service dept and customer relations dept!

@heaton and @spdfrk - service plan companies take no liability for the mfr warranty period. Period. Mfrs cover the product if it doesn't work other than physical damage. The protection plans do nothing in the mfr warranty period and many times make it worse due to restricted use of only service companies who will accept the plan adminstrator's fees during the coverage period. As we all said, one week is not long whether through a mfr or under plan. Per OP, did the Mitsubishi come with 2 years as it was stated "it was still under warranty?"
FYI = salespeople recommend service plans because it's your job, most places either pay a commission or exert heavy pressure to sell them or both. There's not ONE "sales" person out there with any FACTUAL knowledge of repair histories with specific products. NO product justifies a service contract. The entire industry is selling MYTHS.

People who have complaints like this are generally those who have the impression that retail and warranties work the same as they did in the 1930's and 40's. These days, with the highly competitive market for electronics created by consumers expecting to purchase products at prices that barely justify the cost of producing the product, it just isn't possible for things to be as they were then. Basically, consumers are creating there own nightmares and bad experiences. Your complaint isn't entirely incorrect. It's just the wrong decade for complaints like this. If you wish to shovel blame on to anyone, then feel free to throw it on me, you, and everyone else who has gone to purchase a electronic product and expected to do so at a price that was absurdly low.
Having to wait a week for repair isn't due to an unwillingness to assist you by any party involved. Did you stop to consider that quite possibly the repair technicians are busy working on other customers issues? Even if they have numerous technicians, I'm sure they are swamped on a daily basis. As far as a replacement goes, doesn't making such a request seem like it's a bit outlandish and impatient? It's a tv, not a car. I could understand if it was something that would cause a detrimental inconvenience if it were to break down, but it's a tv. This summer, due to severe weather and downed wires, the area where I live spent 7 days without electricity. A week without a big screen tv or a week without electricity, which would you describe as being considerably more inconvenient?
Now I will jump down off of my titanium / carbon fiber soap box and simply add this...
I have worked in retail for nearly 20 years, and when a salesperson such as myself recommends a service plan, it's not just for the sake of padding our paychecks. We also do it for your sake. Salespeople see on a daily basis what customers have to pay and the ordeal they have to go through to get a product repaired if they do not have a service plan on the product.

The Manufactor plan that comes with the TV does not cover everything. It clearly states on the manuel that it's a limited service. So even if it's been less than a year your tv is screwed up imagine what would happen if you didn'r have a protection plan. You'd spend $125 for the inspection and than a few hundred for repairs. Instead you wait a week and it's covered for you.

In year 1, it is under the mfr warranty. HH Gregg does not have a service dept or repair facility. You could go online yourself or call Mitsubishi who will refer you to the closest authorized service. In year 1, or through your extended warranty period, you don't have to pay. So what's the beef? Same deal, same situation with Best Buy and others.
One week for a TV, not bad.

Employees of stores such as hhgregg, are pressured to sell service contracts. It does not matter if the store or a third party is the holder of the contract, it is essential that salespeople sell a certain quota of such contracts, in order to stay employed. However, the contracts also put extra money in the pockets of the salespeople. As a consequence, some salespeople will tell their customers anything to get that warranty sale.

Another thing to think about is that if you are offered a service contract, and you do not buy one, you might be in for some retaliatory grief, if you have a problem later on with your purchase. Since the salespeople are under so much pressure to sell service contracts, you might be greeted with some hostility, even if the item is still under the manufacturer's warranty. If the warranty has expired, and you did not buy a service contract-good luck!

HHGregg does not manufacture their TVs. Every retailer is a re-seller of merchandise. They all have return policies and after that you deal with the manufacturer. Its not about standing behind "their" products because they aren't theirs. Anyone who lodges a complaint like this doesn't understand retail or the way business works. Go take a class.

HHGregg don't buy from them

Seventeen months after I purchased a $1, 675 Sony 46" flat screen TV, it failed. HHGregg advertised quality products, but a TV which lasts only 17 months does not fit my definition of a quality product. I called Sony and their representative stated that the TV lasted longer than the one year warrenty which is Sony's goal. I will not purchase any merchandise from hhgregg nor buy the Sony brand in the future.

Again they didn't build that printer. If the product fails which any electronic can than it falls on the manufactor not the person who sold it. Quit being a jew and buy a service protection plan if you want hhgregg to fix your crap after you break it.

I feel that if you are treated unfair then if you do not let people know things will not change - as for hhgregg people one would only have to read and find out that they do not stand behind products they sale - and yes anyone that buys from them should expect them to stand behind what they sale for at least 6 months to a year - most stores do (Wal-Mart, K Mart, Sams Club, Best Buy, Sears) why should hhgregg not be held accountable for somthing they sale - but I can speak from experience as they did not stand behind a printer they sold me - you are on your own if you purchase from them when you take it out the door - I only had a month and the manager made it plain that unless I have an extended warrenty they will not hlep you - they just opened a store in Myrtle Beach SC and if they continue down the path of not caring then it should close and I hope it does

Your an idiot. The store has nothing to do with the product. They don't make the product or fix it. They sale the product. That tv was built in a Sony factory and shipped to several store. Anyone from Best Buy to Wal Mart could have sold that same tv and your seriously going to sit here and blame them for your tv messing up a year and a half later...you really are an idiot.

HHGregg bad experience

My first and last time purchasing anything at hhgregg ; should had walked away when the sales person attending me left me to help a couple. After waiting for him for more than 20 minutes got someone else to help me. I spent over $1.600 so don't think wasted anyone's time particularly in this economy. As I was paying for my purchse the 1st sales person asked me if I bought anything and when I told him, yes a stove and a refrigerator he said "I left because was not sure you were serious about buying anything"

My "biggest" problem began at delivery; only 1 of the 2 items purchased was delivered and neither the drivers or warehouse could tell me what happened to the refrigerator I purchased. Called store and the person that answered the phone got very defensive, almost aggresive. I asked to speak to soemone else and the manager was not much better; it appears the staff at hhgregg are trained not to take any responsibility but instead they get very defensive and very rude and it appears hhgregg should spend more time training their management staff to provide better customer service/support. After all of that, the wrong refrigerator was delivered (after 2 days) so I refused delivery and when I called the store they, again, got extremelly defensive to the point of sounding very aggresive before they even gave me the chance to explain. The store I am complaining about is the hhgregg in Smyrna, GA.

Bad, bad experience but after searching th ewe, noticed most of the complaints on this company are related to the same.

I have been going through the most trouble customer experience of my life with this company. We bought a samsung 3d tv for 849.99$ and then a 249.99 $ on a five year service policy.. Now they are saying that even though our receipt says 849.99 $ they are trying to say it was apart of a bundle and the glasses were 250$ so we will only get a credit of 648.30$?! We are still in process of fighting them one of the managers was supposed to get back with us a month ago. I finally call today and he no longer works there. So I have to either go to corporate and fax them what my receipt says! or take them to small claims court.

I feel like the person above went to buy a TV and the sticker plate said everyday low 1099.99 nothing about on sale on clearance price we had to check to make sure it was in stock in was we tried to buy the TV and he said it wasn't on sale anymore for that price I told him that I should receive it for that price since it was posted it was the manager problem that his employees needed pulled the necessary tags off the merchandise not the customers manager at the Huber Heights store in Dayton, Ohio would not give it to us for that price after we have spent thousands of dollars at the HHgregg stores over a 200.00 difference I feel they don't care about the customers that pay there incomes.called corporate and they were no better Katherine and Mary both from corporate had the same thing to say the managers can pull the tags when they want I guess even in front of the customer that already seen the price and wanted to purchase the product very RUDE and people throughout the HHgregg company. I would recommend not to purchase anything from HHgregg.

HHGregg awful company

HH Gregg sells you extended warranties and will do nothing to help you get your TV fixed or replaced. For about 2 months now I have had no TV. The repair man said Hitachi does not make the board for my 57” TV any longer, the so called warranty I paid $400 for said a board needs repaired. The repairman says they can’t fix the board because its intermittent problems. Called HH Gregg about 6 times or more and they said they couldn’t help me. They sold the extended warranty to another company and they are out of the picture. When I bought the TV and paid for the extended warranty I was told new parts for repair or I would get a new TV. I have now been told that if they would replace the TV I would not get the same brand and it would not cost the $2400 I paid, they have to depreciate the TV because its not new any longer, and I may end up with around a $1000 TV but they might send out another repairman to recheck it out and they cant give me any idea how long this all will take, and there is no time limit! HH Gregg sure wants to sell you the extended warranty but they will do nothing to back it up!

I recently went to HHGREGG to exchange a camera that I had gotten as a gift, it just wasn't the one I wanted. When I got there I was swarmed by salesman as usual. Once I mentioned I wanted to exchange the camera they literally walked away leaving me standing alone. After awhile I found what I was looking for and had to go ask two separate people to help me. When I was paying for the items(I bought some accessories as well) I was told the camera was out of stock but it would be in the truck on the following Wed.

I called Wed. to insure it was there before I drove there, it was not.I was told there was no room on the truck for my camera, how big could this camera have been that it could not fit on a huge truck?I was told by the CSR it would be an additional 7-10 days but she could not say for sure. When I asked to speak to the manager I was on hold for over five minutes even though I just heard him talking to the csr.He told me quite rudely either wait the 10 days, go to Eastgate Ohio(over 30 miles away) to pick it up or return it. I found that shocking because all total My husband and I had spent over $1500 at the store that day.The manager could not have cared less that we were upset over the wait time. My daughter has her fist violin recital this weekend and I was looking forward to using my new SLR camera. I even filed a complaint at the company web-site, I quickly got back an e-amil that said a member of management would be calling shortly to discuss my problem. It has been two days, no camera, no call, I am not holding my breathe. My guess is that HHGREGG will be the next specialty store to bite the dust, the service is absolutely terrible once they have your money.

We purchased a small refrigerator that was on sale from the HHGregg store in Piqua, OH. It's been one big hassle. I am 65 years old, and it's a 50+ mile round trip.

The hassle began when I called to see if it was in stock, they said it wasn’t, and I'd have to come in and pay for it, before they'd order it. They wouldn't take my credit card over the phone. So I drove over and paid cash.

When it came in, I called and asked if they'd deliver it. They told me I had to come in first and pay for the delivery, (Evidently, they would not trust me to pay the delivery man). So I called a friend, and we went to pick it up instead.

When I got it home, it was defective, it wouldn't cool. I called the store, they told me to call the service center, who told me I'd have to call the manufacturer. I called them, they said they'd send someone out to fix it.

After no one came to fix it in the next five days, I called the store back. I talked to the manager this time. He said he'd order me a new one, but I had to bring this one back, before he'd order it. That would be two more trips over and back. But I said OK.

The next morning my wife and I decided to just get our money back, we’d had enough hassle already. When I got to the store, I told the manager I just wanted a refund. He got a little pissy, and said that’s not what we agreed on last night. I told him I changed my mind, we’d been hassled enough.

He said he’d give me a refund, but he had the right to charge me a 20% restocking fee. (That was about $54.00.) I asked him how he could charge a restocking fee when he sold me defective merchandise. He said I should have read the back of the invoice. I said I’d pay the restocking fee, just write it up. When I asked for the cash back, he said they’d send a check in the next 7 to 10 days, he said they also had the right do this as it was also stated on the back of the invoice.

Before I walked out of the store, I told him he was going to get a little publicity. I’d write the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, and post this on several web sites. He didn’t seem to care.

I went in the Tri County HH Gregg store in Cincinnati with the intention of purchasing a DVD player they had advertised. A salesman helped me find the item and before we went to the register I asked if I could use a travelers check to pay. He wasn't sure so he asked a manager and was told he could. After filling out the travelers check and signing it I gave it to him with my id. He couldn't get it through and went back to the manager again and this time was told that he couldn't accept the travelers check. I talked to the manager and at first he said that he couldn't accept it because is was a $50 travelers check and they couldn't make change and then he said that their insurance wouldn't let them accept travelers checks at all. I informed him that I had asked prior to filling out the check and that he had previously said I could use it. Since American Express travelers checks are good worldwide, I couldn't understand why it wasn't good at HH Gregg and I was upset because I had already filled it out and signed it. I left the store upset and made my purchase at Sears. HH Gregg is off my list of places to shop at.

This is similar to the what I am experiencing with HH Gregg. I have a 10 year warranty on an Amana refrigerator. Today it stopped cooling so I called the service center number on the warranty. They tell me that my warranty had been cancelled, that I had to call the store. The store tells me that my warranty is good, but I will have to wait 24 to 48 hours for it to be verified. I call back later in the day to confirm that the proper information was forwarded to service and the rep was quite rude with me. He told me not to bother him, I would have to deal with service. I called service back to see if by chance the warranty had been reinstated in their records and was told that it had not. I asked them to call as soon as it had and was told they could not do that. I would have to keep calling to see when it would clear. I asked for the manager and was put on hold indefinitely. I hung up after 20 minutes. I am very discouraged.

HHGregg avoid at all costs

Bought Frigidaire ref with extended warranty.Ref. icemaker quit and was serviced every Tues for 7 weeks. Eventually lost everything and they fixed following week as scheduled. Ref works but no icemaker. Conatacted GE., complained about service and they offered to replace with new one. Went to HHGregg, Clarksville, Tn and paid for a replacement. Chose Whirlpool for replacement and told it would be delivered in 9 days, they claim would ship from store in Indiana. Now they tell me they have it on back order. I don't know when I will ever get this worked out. I do not recommend purchase from this company. They are not what they claim in their advertisements.

HHGregg messed up a kitchen installation

HH Gregg messed up a kitchen installation. Bottom-line is that they drilled unecessary (and huge) holes in my new custom cabinets then only to find the appliance didn't fit. At first, they gave me a free hood to hide the damage and substituted the built-in microwave for a free standing. I told them I didn't want a free standing one because I didn't think it would fit so I wanted that money back. They told me to hold on to it until the kitchen was done and then if I didn't want it, I could return it. About six months later my custom kitchen was completed and the free standing microwave didn't fit. They are refusing to take it back saying it's been too long. They never gave me a time limit and anyone who has been through a custom renovation knows it takes a long time. I'm fuming! I will never give them a dime because they didn't keep their word and they don't seem to care. I took this to the corporate level and their response was basically to sue them.

HHGregg horrible company

On, Sunday, March 2, 2017, I went into the store and bought a chest type freezer. The salesman was all over me, trying to get a sale.I went into this store with the ad from the newspaper in hand. And I went there to purchase a chest type freezer.I was told if I paid for the one I wanted it would be delivered to the store the very next day at noon.So I paid cash for the freezer and a stereo my daughter wanted and left the store. On calling the next afternoon, Monday, March 3, 2017, I was put on hold and no one ever came back to the phone. Thinking the freezer I purchased came in on the truck, I proceeded to the store address anyways. On my arrival I parked my trailer and my daughter went into the store to be told, that my freezer in fact had not came in on the noon truck as promised. And they would have it delivered to my house for free the very next day. This did not happen either.I called the next day, Tuesday and again was told it was not delivered to the store. And that they had no idea when it would be there, that someone would call me when it came in.Wednesday and Thursday passed with no calls. So on Friday, March 7, 2017, my daughter called to ask if it was delivered, she too was told it was not.On Saturday, March 8, 2017, I was again told it was not there they would deliver it to my home for free the very next day. This also did not happen.Monday passed and still no call from this company. I called on Tuesday, March 11, 2017, again I was told it was not there. At this time I was offered the display in the store.I told them I want the new freezer I had paid for and no I did not want the display I wanted my money back.I went into the store a few minutes after the phone call to receive my refund as was told that anything over $100 could not be refunded by the store it would have to be issued in check form in 7 to 10 business days.My next problem is:When I paid cash for this freezer I did not tell them that because it was over a $100 I would have to issue them a check in 7 to 10 business days, I paid in full.I never had this item in my possession and there would be no reason why this company should be able to keep my money.

I purchased a Jennair ice machine from HHGreg on 1/3/2017. I took it home, and waited 48 hours to plug it up, as suggested. When I plugged it in, there was no power in the machine (no light, nor did the compressor motor run). I left it plugged in all night, but nothing happened. I bought it from the showroom floor, and it didn't have any paper work, nor was it in a box. I took it back to the store where I purchased it on 1/6/2017, and they refused to return my money stateing that it was a special order, and that their policy said that they couldn't return money for special orders. As I have allready stated, I bought it off the showroom floor. They offered to have it serviced, but wouldn't give me my money back. I told them that I was told that it was new, and didn't buy a repaired machine, and that I wanted a refund. They refused once again, and I left the store without the machine. They now have the macine, and my money. I have contacted the credit card company that I used for the purchase, and they have filled a complaint against HHGregg. Why was I treated in this manner? I will never do business with this store again, and will defer anyone I know not to buy there either~~~

I purchased a front loader LG washer about three months ago. I begin to have problems and had to call the warranty department. I became really upset. They begin to ask all these questions about my washer that should have been in the system and then they had me acting like I was the technician. I was to look for different things to make sure it was completed when delivered. Well I stopped and just told them I did not see anything they were asking. The girl decided at that point she would send a technician out. Then she told me I needed to show my receipt of purchase to make sure that I was the one that purchased the machine. I told her I have never heard of such a thing. I've never had this problem when I purchase an appliance from Sears. I will never buy another product from hhgregg. They are the worst when it comes to customer service.

I purchased a Fridaire washer and dryer set from HHGregg . I paid to have the merchandise delivered to my house. When the delivery people showed up, they informed me that they would not be able to take the washer/dryer down to the basement because the staircase was too narrow and the stove was too close to the door. They told me I would have to move the stove, not just turn it sideways and shut off the gas. They said I would have to remove the trim from the basement door and the railing into the basement. After all that was done, then they would come back. They left my new washer and dryer in the kitchen. It happened that I also hired movers to move my furniture from my old apartment to the new one. They heard me fretting about the situation and offered to try to take the washer and dryer downstairs, something the HHGregg delivery people did not even attempt. Twenty minutes later, my new appliances were safely in the basement, no damage to my apartment. I went back to the store to inform the manager of the situation. He indicated that he was sorry and someone would be in touch the following day to resolve the situation. The woman who called the next day stated that taking the washer and dryer down stairs could have caused a liablity. She then scheduled me to have my washer and dryer hooked up the following day. Ideally, I would have liked a refund, since no one told me anything about possible difficulties moving my new appliances into an older house. At least, and what I would have liked was a sincere apology and to be at the head of the installation appointments for the day following the incident. Instead, what I got was corporate runaround and another wasted morning waiting for the delivery guy. I will NEVER shop at HHGregg again, and the next time I have something delivered, I want a copy of the policy up front.

I went to Hhgregg in Knoxville, Tennessee to purchase a digital camera. I knew exactly the model of camera I wanted and asked for it when I went into the store. They did not have the model I wanted, so I went to leave. In short, they told me they had this awesome new camera that had everything I wanted (and it took them 2 hours of fumbling through different cameras to come to this conclusion). I paid $280 in cash for this camera.

After I went home and read the manual, I found out that this camera did NOT have the features they told me it had! At this point I had wasted at least 4 hours of my evening. Needless to say, I was a little miffed. I returned the camera 2 days later. They would only refund me $100 in cash and told me that it would be over a week before the other $180 would be sent by mail in a check! But the whole point was to get a camera IMMEDIATELY. I wanted to take pictures for Thanksgiving! So here I am over a week later, ticked, with no money to buy the camera I originally wanted. VERY unsatisfied.

On the 29th of Dec 2017 we purchased a Range from hhgregg. I was told it would be delivered the following Friday. I went home and listed my old stove on craigs list and sold it the next day. I then called hhgregg because they bragg about having a next day delivery service so I thought maybe I could get the range delivered befor the following Friday. I was told Good Luck that range was on back order and would not even be in stock until Jan 8th. I then asked to speak to the store manager. I was told he was unavailable but I did speak to a very nice man named Jeff who offered to talk to the store manager and have him get back to me. No one called me back, after three hours so I called them back. I was directed to a woman who listened to my story and then told me she would have my salesman call me back. I waited about an hour and called again. I again asked for a manager but was told my salesman could handel the problem, I said great but why is he not calling me back. I was told he was busy with customers. I explained I was a customer and wanted to be helped also. I was assured he would call back . Twenty minutes later I called again and was actually able to speak to the salesman who helped me. He said no one told him anything about the problem I was having. This is after I spoke to four people who were handeling it!I explained I had company coming the following week and needed some kind of range to cook on. He then told me he would talk to the store manager and then he would call me back. my salesman Chris, did call me back in ten minutes and tell me I was going to get the stove on Friday as planned but it would be the floor model. I then asked if they would discount it since it was a floor model. He sid he would ask the manager and get back to me. I called him back after thirty minutes and he said he thought everything was taken care of . I said it was except I was wondering if his manager was going to do anything to sweeten the bad situation, after all the floor model was not my idea of a great purchase. I was told no discount would be given, I had to take the floor model or wait two weeks or more! I was told I would be sendt an email from the salesman giving me a 20% discount on my next purchase...needless to say he said he would do that right away and that was over an hour ago and still no email. I am sure my next magor purchase will not be make at hhgregg. I felt the left foot did not know what the right foot was doing and I felt the situation called for some kind of compensation for taking the floor model should have been given, reguardless of the fact it was on sale when I purchased it. If I had known it was not in stock I would not have sold my old range. I wonder what would have happed on Friday if I had not called . Would I have waited patiently for my range with no range insight!

I purchased a whirpool front load washer and dryer from HHGregg in January of 08. The washer was aweful from day 1. When it went into the spin cycle it sounded like it was going to shake itself across the house. I had whirlpool service people come out 4 times. One of those times, was due to the machine malfunctioning and my laundry room was covered in water. They fixed it and it happend again last night. I just happened to walk by and smell something burning. Both washer and dryer were running in about 1" of water on the floor. I unplugged everything. I have no idea what it is gong to do to my floor. I am trying to sell my house so right now I cannot show it until this gets fixed. MY whirpool warrently ran out. I bought an extra 5 year warranty from HHGregg and their repair/warranty number is only open on weekdays. I will never purchase a whirlpool product again. One of the repair people told me that the washer I purchased was a DUD and they had more calls on it than any other washer. I offered to pay the difference to upgrade but neight HHGregg nor Whirpool would do it. I was told the Whirpool "never took a product back" that it would make their product quality look bad.

Don't believe what they tell you! I purchased an above the stove microwave. The wrong one was delivered and the store manager decided that they would do nothing for me so I am stuck with a counter top microwave. He was so rude and antagonistic on the whole topic. The salesman said he would get the correct mcrowave ordered but then back out when the manager inserted himself and then the salesman lied and said he never promised to get the problem fixed and took no responsibility in ordering the wrong unit. My mistake was not standing over his should making sure he did his job correctly, but bottom line they don't care if your are a satisfied customer or not. The salesman was obviously worried about loosing his job and lied through his teeth to satisfy the manager. The store manager is a bully and obnoxious. If your looking for customer care and service shop elsewhere.

I bought a plasma from the Douglasville, Ga store on 10-13-08 as a present for my b/f. We didn't open the box until last night [protected]) because our house is wired for a Smarthome and we've been waiting for the electrician to uncover the wires in the wall. Needless to say, after we pulled the TV out of the box, the screen was cracked in several places! We contacted the store mgr, explaining the problem in depth and he continously accused us of damaging it during the transit home. Brad (store mgr) refused to exchange it and claimed he spoke to his "higher up" mgrs and they all agreed there was nothing they could do. Where is the customer support? The simple fact is.. this is the 2nd time we've received a broken TV from this store. The only difference is last time they exchanged it!

I purchased a Mitsubishi DLP Model # WD65732 a few of years ago. In the 4 years I have owned the TV the Lamp has been replaced 4 times. The light engine has been replaced 3 times and is bad again. Luckily I purchased the protection plan when I bought the TV. However, beware of the sales pitch you get from the sales person. The warranty is though an outside company. Throughout this whole ordeal I've been in contact with HHgregg only to be told the matter has to be handled by the warranty company. Once the TV is out the door and passed the 14 day return policy, HHgregg is out of the picture! I was told by my salesperson they have a "No Lemon" policy. Well the warranty company informed my me that even though 3 light engines have been replaced, the defect did not occur in a 12 month period, so the lemon policy is not applicable. I was told that there is a performance guarantee, But when the service tech arrives he says he can't change any parts because TV's like this wear out over time and the warranty company would not pay for "worn out" parts, only defective ones. I have owned 4 Mitsubishi TVs before this one (3 CRTs, and a Rear projection) all are still working even after 10 plus years. I may have gotten a lemon with DLP, but I would certainly check other reviews and Consumer Reports and see just where Mitsubishi stands now a days. Most of all, read the whole policy regarding HHgregg's Product Protection Plan. Get the actual policy in writing and read the fine print. The sheet of paper they show you during the sales pitch does not tell the whole story. Don't take what the sales people tell you for granted! Oh yeah, don't even bother trying to call Mitsubishi. I spent HOURS on the phone with them too. They are a big corporation, and I am just one person with a problem. They offered no assistance at all. I can assure you my next major electronic purchase will not be from HHgregg.

HHGregg laptop extended warranty

In october of 2006 I purchased a Toshiba Laptop from HHgregg along with A 4 year warrantyy that covers everything. I had screen damage and went to HHgregg. They told me they never sold such a warranty. Eventually the magically dicovered that I did and sent me off to call GE. I told GE what was wrong and was assured that they could just replace the screen. He asked if I backed up the data and I said no. He assured me it was fine. After not hearing from them, I called to see where my laptop was. I was informed it's going to be replaced and its already been sent to salvage. My data is gone! Now Im waiting to see what piece of ### they want to replace it with. Or the small amount of money they will offer to settle with.

Wow, so you waited three years to tell us that made up story. One way you can tell how fake these storys are is by looking at the dates posted. Hhgregg gives a full refund or replaces it with a model of equal or higher value. Another fake complaint by another fake user name.

HHGregg non response to service request

Amana refrigerator purchased in 8/02 stopped cooling. We have a 10 major component warranty for the product. Called for service and was informed that warranty was cancelled, that I would have to call store for verification. Store verified and stated that verification was sent to service company and should show up after 24 hours. Many phone calls and hours later I am still trying to get service on said refrigertor. I have escalated to the the customer relations department at the service company (GE Assurant). I have emailed my service contract and bill of sale showing that warranty is in deed still in effect until 2012. Still no reply or service. I will never buy from HH Gregg again and will warn everyone to beware.

HHGregg scammers

I ordered a big screen TV to be delivered for a 25th anniversary/Christmas gift from Hhgregg and set up delivery time and date for when we would be on a trip and my son would be home to let them in. Then my hubby would walk in the door and it would be a big surprise. Not only did they NOT deliver the TV, they BILLED me for the TV and then, when I called, told me they did not even have the TV in stock to deliver in the first place! Now I have neither an anniversary or a Christmas gift for my hubby. All I have is a bill for $2500-and no TV.
