Lousy courier firm. I ordered goods from Ambrose Wilson catalogue and this courier firm did not deliver my goods. If you phone them they tell you to go back to the catalohgue, and the catalogue tells you that they have no contact with the courier!

Lousy arrangement, avoid, avoid, avoid!

Heres the phone number for Hermes couriers - if anyone needs it.

Hermes say delivered and signed for on 28th Feb. there was no-one in the house from 27th Feb until 1st March. So who signed ? Nothing shown on "View Delivery Signature" link. once they tell me on their contact email that it's been delivered and signed for, they then finish the "chat" and don't give me a chance to explain the non delivery problem.

I couldn’t agree more with all these comments. I am currently waiting for FOUR parcels from Hermes, all from different retailers, John Lewis, Phase Eight, Coast and Debenhams. All delivery’s are well over the 3-5 days delivery time promised on their websites. In fact they have had the one from John Lewis since 17th April! When I complained to the retailers concerned they all contacted Hermes and were all informed that there was a ‘postcode error’ or that parcel was ‘sent out with wrong courier’. Really? The staff at Hermes are either completely incompetent or lying, or perhaps both! I am just amazed and disappointed that reputable retailers such as these are still using Hermes. They must be aware of their reputation

I had a similar problem with Hermes Edinburgh. They claimed to attempt to deliver before Christmas through Amazon, There was somebody home 24/7 and I had to wait for 14 days for a refund and after that I went for Prime on Amazon to avoid Hermes delivery and guess what, again they used Hermes, that claimed another lie about attempting a delivery. Both my husband and I were home all day, and now I have to wait another 14 days for my refund. I opted out of Amazon's prime delivery £ 7.99 a month. I would expect Amazon to have better couriers than these fraudsters Hermes. AVOID HERMES wherever you live in UK!

My wife's recent exasperating experience with the non delivery of two items during December appears to echo the adverse comments given by other folk on this website. On both occasions the Hermes online tracking information claimed that these items had been delivered to her home address; one at 23.38 hrs and the second at 22.01hrs!
The house was occupied on both days/times and my wife assured the Hermes Customer Services person that neither parcel or any other delivery evidence was found on our property! They, (Hermes), dismissed the latter information and just referred her back to the vendor for a refund. The first vendor honoured the refund immediately and also aired his suspicion about the very late delivery time logged by the Hermes Courier. The second vendor was reluctant to accept the refund request. Fortunately, Paypal (used to pay for the second item), refunded the money under their payment guarantee protection system. Hermes provided no further assistance to my wife after the initial report of non delivery!

Warning - do not use hermes unless sending steel as there is a good chance of breakage. The personnel have to work at speed - like on a roman galley with the threat of a whip. This means that your package means nothing to them and if necessary it will be thrown about during transit from your place onwards. I have had 2 breakages reported - are they bothered. . . . Compare them to ryan air as regards customer satisfaction.

buy online from Debenhams and you will suffer the appauling service of Hermes to 'deliver' your goods. Hermes are a terrible company, their delivery drivers are appauling and will dump your goods anywhere on your property if you are not in. I recently confronted the delivery lady (who just had a car stuffed with parcels) about her leaving parcels when there was no-one in and her response "well you should make sure your in, and if not I will leave it - I am not messing about coming back" I was speechless at her attitude and told her never to leave anything without a signature.

Hermes are the best reason not to buy online from Debenhams

All these co-called Hermes drivers are absolute ###s. So you agree that you don't care about the service you provide because you are payed a couple of squid?! That is NOT the customer's problem, that is YOURS. If you have an issue with it either find a better job or start a damn riot you bunch of whiners. You have ONE job it's YOUR job and you provide a SERVICE for others... And this coming from someone who as had multiple retail and delivery driving jobs. And please' spare me the "you obviously don't know what a real job is" rubbish, you don't know what anyone else does on here and to be fair, it's irrelevant if the customer works as a binman or owns a bank. Their job is not in question. Yours is.
So yes, people have aright to be angry as hell, no i have no sympathy for any driver. It's a hard life. Deal with it. Everyone else has to and a lot of people work for pittance, or even volunteer and still provide better services. If you admit that you have no care or pride in your job and admit you dont care about customer's parcels then you should not be touching people's good, you should be using that rage and figuring out why the hell you get paid a pitiful amount! Then maybe you can actually do your jobs better. Better still, quit.

Parcel was never delivered, and I thought Yodel was bad...!
Have even had my Bin sign for an item and was left in the bin "On bin day".
Have never had any problem with Parcel Force but am deeply out of pocket with both Hermes and yodel, If they cant be bothered to deliver then your simply not going to get your parcel, Signed for but not delivered, They should be tracked themselves so it can be proved that they where at your Address like some of the better company's. Going to get CCTV with time stamp so can prove it when they don't deliver, I'm badly disabled so in 24/7 plus my dog gives me warning that someone is has pulled up outside well before they get even close to the door.
Maybe some of you are lucky with the couriers but with us its sadly a lottery if your going to get your package or not..

Quite disgraceful and appalling lack of service from this so-called service company, Their only consistencies are being late to collect and very slow in delivery.
The most recent farce is in their inability to settle a claim for goods that they failed to deliver and have lost or had stolen in transit. Despite my payment of insurance for the full value they have delayed and procrastinated in settling my claim instead sending badly-spelt, non-sequitur answers to my messages.
Not to be trusted with anything of value or where urgency or reliability of either collection or delivery is necessary. Given what I read on these posts it would seem that I am not alone.

my parcel was collected on the 11/12/15. Still not been delivered. they send emails with every excuse under the sun even thinking I bought my goods from ebay. Now they want my receipt. all I have is the couriers receipt, and there not getting that. they give themselves two weeks to reply to you and, a few hours for you to reply to them. If, you don`t reply within those few hours you have lost your claim and probably your parcel. whatever happened to trading standards? Date 26/1/16

I have been waiting in for the past three days only to be updated online that delivery was attempted three times and now it will go back to depot. No card left. No sign of the courier outside. I would pick it up from the depot, but unlike other courier services, the depot does not allow drop off or collection by customers. So what they're going to do with my parcel, I have no idea.

Received "Sorry I missed you card through the letterbox on Saturday with box ticked "Parcel left in secure front porch. I dont have a front porch or any side entrance being a terraced house. Courier driver name was not filled out and there was no phone number to ring. Also there is no detail of what was delivered or by whom. What do they expect you to do and I am wasting megga time. I usually get excellent courier services but this is the first time I have encountered Hermes and I hope it is the last.

I am taking them to court in the small claims court .And now have a massive amount from there layers why I will not win but my point will be noted they need to get there service sorted for there customers, having looked online there is thousands of complaints.
You can only send cotton wool safely ! And insured items are all excluded. Make a check box system and stop ripping off customers.

Hermes are rubbish. I have had problems with them three times over the last two months with them not delivering parcels. I don't even think they were trying to deliver to the correct address. The first time they left the parcel in the porch of a house at the end of the lane! The second time they returned to parcel to Amazon saying they were unable to deliver but I'd had no card through the letterbox to say they had even tried! The third time they returned the parcel to another company saying they were unable to deliver - I had been in all day every day that week and they had not been near my house. Please, please, please will companies learn from all these comments and stop using Hermes.

tracking number [protected] .Order placed with john lewis on 11/12/13. Hub sorter receipt scan 13/12/13, receipt at depot 13/12/13, processed at depot 13/12, out for delivery to courier 14/12, awaiting courier receipt 14/12.Tried calling you on the 18th 19th 20th with no one answering the call.Rang john lewis also over these dates they had no joy in getting through to you either.Eventually on tuesday the 24th i managed FINALLY to get an answer from one of your staff who was initially reluctant to give me information as i wasnt the retailer. He said to me “ i can confirm your item has been lost in the post” so ive now got a daughter who wont be getting the present she asked for, even though i ordered this in plenty of time for delivery from john lewis, but alas they trusted there delivery to be for filled by hermes.I must of wasted in excess of 3 hours total on the phone to the retailer and you lot trying to get information.I dont believe for one minute it was lost at all, i firmley believe its been stolen by one of your drivers, and thanks to his selfish action has ruined mine and my daughters christmas. So many thank hermes for your totally dishonest and rubbish courier servce .i have advised john lewis that they are jeopardising there reputation by using such an unprofessional company, they agreed with me also.i ended up having to trawl electronics shop to find a replacement thanks to you.So i suggest for located the driver and question him as to where its got to.I do require some sort of compensation for all this aggravation, lost time, phone calls, stress. And i certainley wouldnt ever use your services again, and i would urge others not to either if they value there customers.Which you clearley dont.

Avoid this bunch at all costs, sad state of affairs I no actively check an online company will not send from this useless courier before making any order. I've actually paid slightly more for an item to avoid Hermes!

Hermes have really poor customer service.
I have missed a delivery and received a note saying it will be re-delivered the next day (when I am at work), therefore I have wrote 4 e-mails and called them up 3 times in the period of 2 days to arrange a Saturday delivery. After they took all the information from me (parcel number, etc) I was told it is being taken care of and I will receive my parcel on Saturday. However, when I got home the same day, I found another note in my post box saying they have tried to deliver it again and will attempt again next day (working day) and if I am not there, they will return the package to sender or destroy it.
I have called them up again (4th time) and was told they can’t help me, because the package was sent from abroad and they are not allowed to contact their colleagues in another country (excuse my French – ###). After I asked them what their abroad office has to do with it if the package is already in UK in their courier’s car, they told me they are not allowed to contact UK courier as well, even though they have her number (seriously?).
After I asked why there is such a miscommunication between offices of the same company, they repeated they can’t help me.
After I asked why they can’t contact their own UK colleague (courier) who is on their payroll, they said they can’t help me either.
After I asked what I should do in regards to my belongings in the parcel now, they said they understand my concern, but they can’t help me.
After I asked If I can claim the money back for my belongings as well as delivery costs, they told me they don’t know and I should try calling their other office up (German) (again, what it has to do with the package which is in UK?).
It seems like they don’t know any other scripted sentences rather that we can’t help you.
After I told them that I will have to sue, I got a reply: okay.
I am very disappointed with the service and strongly recommend everyone not to use Hermes.

I have just returned from work to a card from Hermes.
NO CONTACT NUMBER given on the card. There are spaces on both sides of the card for this. When I tried to contact Hermes on their website it gives a message saying contact my supplier. Why? It is Hermes who are avoiding contact.
