Helzberg Diamonds Shops condescending customer service

Customer: C00890010002754 Trans Number:1040445 Store: 89 I purchased a ring at the Northridge Woodland Hills, CA location months ago. I researched the ring and brought my concerns about it to the sales associates who claimed that there would be no problem but if I got the insurance on it, they would fix it no matter what. So I did. Fast forward to 2 weeks before my wedding, and the ring has changed completely. So I go in for the repair. I explain the problem because of course, they need you to in order to use the insurance on it. So I get a call 12/24/15 saying the ring is done and I drive to the mall to pick it up. They polished the ring and ruined it to the point it was unfixable. I asked why they they did this and showed them a 2 photos of the original ring. They claimed they could not see a difference on my photo or on the computer between a charcoal black ring with rose gold on the sides, and the now completely highly polished rose gold ring. They were extremely condescending, calling me "honey" many times and an "upset bride" which I was not. I was spoken to like I was a child by the manager of the store (Rita), who at no point apologized for the mistake and continuously refused to fix the problem until I would say I was not upset with the situation! As if that is her right to determine! I was floored at the lack of professionalism. They are attempting to rush another ring, but they spoke to me and my mother with complete disrespect. They seemed to think I should just take the ring as is, get married (with photographs we've paid for) and then fix it after. They didn't check to look at what the ring looked like before modifying it, they did not apologize for ruining it, and when they tried to find the ring at another store, they claimed not to see a difference between an 8 mm ring and a 5 mm ring. They claimed to not see differences in texture or color. I ask you, what other differences are there in jewelry? This manager was not a professional in any way that matters. I want to make sure she does not intentionally mishandle my ring because I have left her negative reviews. Pictured below is the ring as I bought it. When I attempted to pick it up, it was entirely the color of the edges and the texture had been somewhat polished away.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops wedding ring repair

I brought my ring in for the 6 month inspection and associate found a loose diamond and bent prong. The associate reported that I had to have the ring repaired through their store to honor replacement policy should I ever lose the diamond. Upon return of the ring I noticed the bands had been sauntered together and that the ring felt lighter than before. I also suspected that the diamonds were slightly smaller. Two weeks later it was discovered that the ring had been switched with another customs ring of a lesser weight. The store manager phoned me to tell me "you need to get the other clients ring back in the store" as if I had stolen the ring. (Remember my ring is of greater weight and diamond size and therefore value.) The manager told me I was lucky that the other customer was honest and didn't just walk away with my ring. She then spoke in a threatening manner stating "my next step is to make a report with loss and found which will bring in the police." The store made no apology to me and did not seem to care about the inconvenience of making a 55 mile drive back to the store before closing. I voiced concerns of needing to deal with the store and repairs in the future and asked for assurance that this would not happen again. The manger stated that it wasn't my business how things had been handled and just that it wouldn't happen again. The process was inconvenient and disheartening.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops gender discrimination

My complaint is in regard to gender discrimination of customers. I purchased a 3 ring Wedding set for my wife and myself in 2014. Let me reiterate that I MADE THE PURCHASE. Not my wife. Since the purchase, my wife has received 2 COMPLIMENTARY pearl bracelets, and recently received a card in the mail informing her that she has a COMPLIMENTARY necklace for her upcoming Birthday. The following is my complaint. While I do not begrudge my wife for receiving these COMPLIMENTARY gifts, I am disturbed by the fact that only the woman is ever given these COMPLIMENTARY gifts. I (as the actual purchaser of our Wedding set) would like to know why, when I spent several thousand dollars of my money in this business, my wife is the only person who is recognized as a valuable customer? She has received a bracelet for Christmas. And another bracelet for Valentine's Day, and now, she has a necklace waiting for her to pick up for her Birthday. I have Birthdays as well. I would also appreciate a token of gratitude at Christmas time. And Father's Day is tomorrow. But I have never been recognized by Helzberg Diamonds as anything more than a sales commission. When I verbally addressed this situation in store, one of the sales asociates responded with a statement that actually sounded more like a question. His response was as follows. "Happy wife... Happy life"? Well, this created great animosity for me. It was as if he was telling me that as a man, I am of no value to their company. With that thought in mind, I make the following statement. Unhappy husband equals dissatisfied customer. Dissatisfied customer equals No more purchases from discriminating retailers.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops poor quality product and service

The first time we ordered from Helzberg at the jewelry store in Sioux Falls, SD, we ordered this ring: http://www.helzberg.com/product/mens+band+2023881.do?sortby=ourPicks. They gave us an item number to look it up online. When we looked it up, the number matched a ring with a hammered look, and ours did not have hammering at all. The number was for the wrong ring. Thankfully I noticed this and called them and we changed the order. Another problem was that different workers told us different things about our ring. Our ring had a metal listed as ss. Some workers said it was stainless steel, some said it was sterling silver - it was confusing us as my husband is allergic to nickel and so we wanted to learn about the actual metal that it was. Then we had trouble with getting the right size. My husband didn't feel comfortable wearing it as it felt way too loose but they said a half size down would get too uncomfortable in the summer. (Later, another worker let him go a half size down, and this new size has been very comfortable for him to wear.) Then on the first ring, the ring that I put a link to above, the grey part wore off after a few days wearing it! So we went in and mentioned that we were not happy with this. They said we could choose a different ring in exchange. So we chose this ring in exchange: http://www.helzberg.com/product/gold+men%27s+band+1988005.do?sortby=ourPicks. We love how it looks online! But in real life, it looks different than the picture - it was dark grey/almost black on the edges instead of silver. On this ring, the black wore off over a weekend of normal wear! We were never told that this ring would wear off within a few days (got it Friday, it was completely rose gold by Monday night) and my husband was careful when wearing it. So, we ordered the same ring again because they said it was weird and that this must be an error. We got a call saying that our new ring came in, so we traveled the hour and a half, and they looked all over and couldn't find our ring. They admitted they were wrong - our ring hadn't come in. By this point we were sick of all of these problems. We asked for a refund. They said we can't get a refund because it has been just a few days over a year. (Over this year we were constantly coming back to Helzberg to try figure out the sizing and also just simply try getting a ring from Helzberg that stayed true to its color!) They then said they would see what they could do for us. I got a call on a Monday that on Tuesday I would get a call about what they will do for us. I didn't receive that call from them on Tuesday. I called them Tuesday a half hour before closing and they said they weren't sure yet. I would have liked an honest call, on the Tuesday as promised, that they were not sure yet - because I was waiting all day for a call from them as promised. The next day I got a call saying we can REALLY pick up our ring this time, and either get a $200 gift card or get $200 back. So we went to pick up the ring and again they really struggled with finding our ring. Many minutes and other workers later they found it. I did get a check of $200 like we asked for but they only included the first three letters of my last name. Also, my husbands ring is now completely rose gold again! It took longer this time to wear off, but still in just 2 weeks, the original color is gone and it is not at all like the ring pictured. I am in tears when I talk about my husband's ring because to me it was a lot of money, and it is not a ring that we are happy with at all after trying many, many times, and it is such a precious item that we would like to be happy with. I really wish I could have a full refund because I am very disappointed with all of these mistakes.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops unprofessional customer representatives

My husband paid his credit card at the Helzberg store located in the Mall. The next day our son called us and said he received a text message thanking him for a payment that he never made. Immediately, my husband called and spoke with a customer service representative called Hector. As my husband explained that he paid his account and the credit was posted to my son's account by mistake the representative told my husband that he couldn't help him and asked him to call the store or to call my son and obtain his account number so that they may be able to find out what happened. My husband ask the representative " what if it was not my son the credit was given to how would I obtain another persons account, would you not investigate and find out what happened" Aaron the representative said sorry but when you have the appropriate information call back and I will help you. Then I called back and a customer representative called Aaron I tried to explain the matter but he refused to listen and immediately wanted to transfer me to a bilingual representative( I am very fluent in English and Spanish) as if he was in a rush to transfer the call so he would not have to deal with the matter of the call. Then he transferred me to Antonio who was very rude, as my husband and I tried to explain the situation Antonio too was trying to tell us that he could not help and that we needed my sons account number. I kept trying to speak but Antonio was busy yelling and did not want to listen to what i needed to say. What he did say was that this is why customer representatives hang up on me (never happened) so i proceeded to raise my voice and speak although he was speaking telling him that as a customer service representative they were all their to help the customer and to listen to the needs. I also told my husband that i was going to call corporate while Antonio was on he phone. After all that Antonio decided to listen and put us on hold and investigated and figured out that what we were trying to inform them all along was that the money was credited to the wrong account. the matter was taken care of after arguing back and forth. NOT professional. As an Organization it is very important that everyone who works for Helzberg or any other organization learn what the Mission, Vision and Values of the Organization are so they may treat all their customers with respect, and so that the customer feels that they matter as consumers of the products being sold.

i found the bank that helzberg deals with (Comenity) to be inefficient and lacking in handling of financial accounts. For this reason, this may be the final reason that I do business with Helzberg Diamond.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops product

Purchased a ring that continually has loose diamonds or diamonds that fall out & that is called "normal wear & tear" to Helzberg.
My husband purchased a Helzberg Radiant Star engagement ring in December of 2012 for a total of $2, 606.93 on a Visa credit card.
Ring on website is this one except mine has a round halo, not square: HELZBERG RADIANT STAR® 2/3 CT. TW. DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING IN 14K GOLD.

He purposed 12/25/12 and on 12/27/12 (2 days of wearing the ring) I lost 3 diamonds. We took the ring to the store where Susan (representative who sold my husband the ring), inspected it & washed it in the jewelry cleaner where 2 more diamonds fell out. Susan decided to have an entire new engagement ring made from scratch. We dropped off the ring to be replaced on 2/22/13 & I received the new ring sometime in May of 2013.

We did purchase the warranty package for the ring, so since the date of purchase the ring has been inspected every 6 months as required by Helzberg. The last inspection for the ring was 5/14/14 where I was told the ring looked great & nothing was wrong with it. I decided to go to Helzberg on 7/23/14 to have my ring cleaned because it looked dirty, it was checked by one of the representatives & I was told that I had 3 diamonds that were loose, 2 of which were about to "fall out" & I was advised not to wear the ring. I asked for a refund of the ring because of how faulty the ring is & has been. The store manager, Brooke, told me that having loose diamonds or diamonds that fall out of the side shanks is "normal wear & tear." This ring is only a year old, I should not have diamonds that are about to fall out of it. I decided not to have it sent away to be fixed right away & instead brought it to a family friend who is a jeweler. He then told me that other diamonds were loose & that I had prongs that were completely missing in places that I could not have possibly broken myself. Again, he is a family friend & not another jewelry store trying to get my business.
I reached out to Helzberg's corporate office to speak with the regional manager. I called twice leaving a message for the regional manager and we never heard anything. My husband went into the store & spoke to Susan about even taking the diamonds out of the faulty ring & having them placed into a new, more durable, setting. She was incredibly rude & disrespectful to my husband & said that all that can be done is to have it fixed. My husband dropped off the ring to be fixed on 7/25/14 & it will not be back until 8/11/14. Had we been advised that this ring will continually have issues with loose diamonds or diamonds that fall out, we would have never purchased it. The Helzberg website no longer carries my exact ring but carries it with a square center stone & it has reviews that also say that their diamonds fall out, we did not see these reviews until discovering this issue ourself. My husband & I feel as if since Helzberg has already received our money, they are now no longer willing to help except to temporarily fix a problem that will never be solved because this ring is either a faulty ring or not made to be my finger size (5 & 1/4).

Helzberg Diamonds Shops poor quality

My husband purchased emerald and diamond earrings for my birthday 7 months ago. He also purchased a matching necklace and ring. After the third or possibly the fourth wearing of the earring the post broke off while I was taking off the earrings. I took it to the store and asked them to repair the broken post. I was told that we had not purchased the care plan and I would have to pay for the repair. I told them that I felt the earring was faulty since I have had cheap costume earrings for thirty years that have been worn hundreds of time and have never had a post break off while taking off the earrings. The sales person talked to the manager and was told that I had to pay for the repair or buy the care plan. I left the store with the broken earring. My husband shops at Helzberg frequently and was so upset with their lack of customer care that he will never step foot in their store again.
I wrote to Helzberg about the earring and have never received a response. The took the complaint as an excuse to send me daily junk email about their "wonderful" products.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops bad customer service

Wow - what an obnoxious sales person. the sales person kept telling us about her $50, 000 wedding ring, and sticking it in our face and trying to get us to buy a bigger diamond. The manager just stood there smiling and letting her embarrass us. We knew our budget and we really got tired or her pushiness. She didn't know anything about diamonds and quality - all she knew was size - how ridiculous! We asked to go into the "diamond room" to look at some stones and she decided we weren't going to spend enough to make that worth her time. We did get her card and tore it up as we left- we went to Zales - they treated us much better and quit trying to push us to buy something we could not afford. No thanks Lisa and Helzberg!

A foreignor came over to greet me and when i explained i would like my ring cleaned she kept telling me i need a inspection card to clean my ring. Helzberg Diamonds @ The Augusta Mall on Wrightsboro Rd: Many people have experienced job harassment & discrimination, The District manager is Incompetent, and allows a bad store manager to mistreat black customers & new employees, that's why Helzberg can never keep people emplyed with the company! The staff are a group of unprofessional people, that fight over commissions, stab each other in the back, and no nothing about the Jewelry Business, except for lying to customers, being rude to customers who complain about their lousy customer service, & messing up purchase orders.. I used to work there, and I 've witnessed the store manager & his staff fumble at the mouth on the phone, constantly making personal phone calls, and helping lousy employees conspire against new-hires or any good employee that goes a better job at sales than them! I and a lot of people hate working at Helzberg Diamonds; there's also a lot of racism & hostility in the workplace (like Windsor Jewelers). I was happy to quit there..

i agree the harassment & discrimination, The District manager is Incompetent of region 26 nothing but punishment and punishment helzberg diamonds is a career ending job with this company in region 26. She has no idea had to manage she plain idiot.

The District Manager turns a blind eye to whatever happens, and allows the store manager to mistreat customers and new employees. His staff are a group of unprofessional & incompetent people, who really don't know anything about the jewelry Business, except for how to lie to customers, back stab fellow associates, and be rude to customers who complain about Helzberg's bad customer service. I wouldn't buy any jewelry from those clowns. They harass & mistreat fellow associates, who are better jewelry salesmen than they are. Helzberg (Augusta Mall) often violate their own business policies

Helzberg Diamonds Jewelry Store, The District Manager is incompetent (fired from J.B. Whites), who allows the store manager- to mistreat some customers and new employees. His staff are a group of unprofessional people who really know nothing about the Jewelry Business, except for lying to customers, messing up their purchase orders, being rude to customers who complain about the Helzberg unprofessional service. I wouldn't buy any jewelry from those clowns. They also harass & mistreat fellow co-workers, who are better jewelry salesmen than they are; the manager & his flunkies often violate the Helzberg Diamonds business policies when the District Manger isn't around to check up on them. One day, a co-worker yelled at me in front of a customer, just for greeting the customer first!

I wouldn't buy any jewelry from those clowns. Helzberg Diamonds; like KAY Jewelers, encourages racism & job discrimination.. The white managers are usually incompetent, and often fail to hire qualified personnel to help run their jewelry store. Many of the managers were fired themselves, from other companyies, and are hired @ Helzberg Diamonds to continue discriminating against new hires or good employees, and lying to prospects (black applicants) who pass their background checks, & still refuses to hire them, while whites who fail the background checks are often hired & re-hired! The store manager; Raymong Husband, is a known sex offender & liar. He routinely harasses good employees, who are smarter than him, and should become managers themselves, and replace him.. This business stinks on the way they treat good people, who are just trying to make an honest living..

JCPenney - Augusta Mall in Augusta, Georgia has suffered & continues to experience HUGE employyee & manager turnovers (constantly firing & hiring the wrong kind of people to run a dept. store!) The latest managers; the worst of them, is Karen, a evil, self-absorbed, feminist woman, who discriminates against new hires; giving the men (esp. black men) all the crappy jobs, while giving all the lazy women- cushy jobs, while they really don't do anything.. These kinds of unfair job discrimination tactics is what keeps hurting their company...

Helzberg Diamonds Shops diamond engagement ring

My son bought a diamond engagement ring at Helzberg Diamonds in December 2011. June of 2012 (6 mo later) my son and his Fiance noticed that 2 of her diamonds were looking yellow. So they took it into the store and had them look at these diamonds -- the clerk told them "Oh it probably just needs to be cleaned" went back into the office and cleaned the ring. When the clerk returned to the counter he handed the ring back to them and said "huh, that diamond looks a little darker than the others huh"? He told them to bring it back in for her 6 month diamond check in a few weeks and they will send it out to be deep cleaned. So my son returned to the store and they sent the ring out -- it returned with the diamonds still yellow and they told them it may just be that the white gold is rubbing off under these diamonds giving them a yellow gold hue -- so they would send it back to be re-dipped in white gold. Still to be returned with yellow diamonds! OMG! What terrible quality of diamonds and gold they sell. I personally have had a white gold ring for years never to have the white gold rub off and see yellow gold under it? WHAT?! Never have had any issues with any diamonds I have ever had from all the different jewelry stores I have purchased from. Get the word out -- TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO GIVE HELBERG DIAMONDS YOUR BUSINESS you will regret your decision!

Reading your post here, I will certainly tell you that i'm a real "ONLINE PERSONAL JEWELER" in Atlanta, GA. I will first say that there's no such thing as "WHITE GOLD WEARING OFF OF A RING" unless this ring is "PLATED WHITE GOLD." Rings are normally "RHODIUM PLATED" over 14kt white gold or even 18kt white gold. And sometimes even 14kt or 18kt yellow gold is "RHODIUM PLATED" to make the jewelry appear as if it's white gold or even Platinum when it is not.

As for the diamonds in the ring your son has, it is apparent that the diamonds are a light yellow color or even a champagne color. The gold on the ring has nothing to do with a diamond having body color showing in it when you view it from the top nor the sides of the diamond. A "GENUINE 14KT GOLD RING IS, WHAT IT IS AND THE GOLD DOES NOT RUB OFF OF IT WHEN YOU PUT IT ON TO WEAR IT."

The District Manager for Helzberg Diamonds- is incompetent (fired from J.B. Whites), who allows the store manager- to mistreat some customers and new employees. His staff are a group of unprofessional people who really know nothing about the Jewelry Business, except for lying to customers, messing up their purchase orders, being rude to customers who complain about the Helzberg unprofessional service. I wouldn't buy any jewelry from those clowns.

Helzberg Diamonds Shops diamond replace warranty

My husband purchased my wedding band at Helzberg and a diamond kept getting loose. We would take the ring for inspection every 6 months like the warranty requires. Two months ago one of the diamonds fell off the ring, so I took it to the store to replace the stone. The Helzberg salesperson told me it had to be sent to corporate office and that it would take a while, about a month to get it back. It's been two months already and every time I call the store or go in person to check if my ring is back they have a lame excuse. I am tired of their incompetence. I used to love Helzberg stores and products, I always had a great experience with costumer service, but now not so much I am afraid they lost the ring or something. Has anyone sent a ring to get a diamond replaced? How long did it take to get it back?

Helzberg Diamonds Shops poor workmanship

I purchased a new diamond ring on my 30th anniversary from Helzberg Diamonds in Toledo, Ohio. My previous diamond, that I had had for 30 years had never lost a diamond. The new ring I purchased was of similar size as my last one. I have had this new ring for 5 years now and it has lost '7' diamonds - 2 times the big teardrop diamond in the center, and 5 other diamonds. I just picked up my ring less than 2 weeks ago because I had lost a smaller diamond, and they were supposed to put a new diamond and completely add new prongs to ALL the diamonds. As I just said, THE EXACT DIAMOND INCLUDING PRONGS is now missing AGAIN! I am sick and tired of this. My ring has been in service for at times over a month, and other times a week to 10 days. When my 5th diamond was lost, I inquired about picking another ring, only to be told that I had to purchase something 2x the value as my ring. This is so ridiculous! The manager of the store is not at all sympathetic to the issue. I have 3 children that are at the age that they will be getting married in the near future, and you can bet that I will tell them NOT to go to HELZBERG DIAMONDS!

Helzberg Diamonds Shops fake gold

I bought a citrine gemstone ring and a pair of 1/4 carat diamond earrings from Helzberg Diamonds in 2000. Both the ring and the earrings have 10k stamped inside of them. They have not been left in any cleaning solution or subjected to crazy temperatures. The jewelry has turned copper color. I took it to a local jeweler and was told that they are not 100% gold. It is been some time since my purchase, but I thought they were a reputable company. Why would they sale fake gold? I do not care how long ago I made the purchase, it was a legal contract and they should honor it. I will be shipping both pieces of jewelry to their warehouse. I spend over $250 dollars on that purchase.

10k is not 100% gold... it's 41.7% pure gold mixed with alloys that make it stronger. 24k gold is the only 100% pure gold, but is incredibly soft which is why it isn't really used in jewelry.
As far as the color your earrings are turning, depends on if it's yellow or white gold. If it is white gold, your rhodium plating is simply wearing down. White gold is yellow coated with rhodium which is what makes it bright white. Most white gold jewelry needs to be plated every 6 months-1 year in order to maintain a "new" appearance.
Some other reasons your jewelry is losing color might be from how often you wear them and if you wear them in the shower. Showering with jewelry is not a good idea. It can loosen your stones and the products you use in the shower can build up and wear your jewelry down.
Take care of your jewelry by taking it off before showering and getting it cleaned every 6 months by a jeweler.

To answer your direct complaint, helzberg does not sell fake gold. They sell 10k, 14k, and 18k. The only gold that is 100% is 24k.
