I just went to hallmark channel website to complain about the loud music and it looks like they are now aware of this. I hit the feedback button on the bottom of the screen and was taken to this page with the following message:

http://www.hallmarkchannel.com/faq

Q. Why is the background music so loud in your movies?

A. A group of tv movies made for crown media in the mid to late 2000s have a large musical component. The producer believed that the addition of music, even when dialog is present, enhanced the presentation. Some viewers have expressed a desire to lower or remove the music in these tv movies. The movies have been delivered, accepted and will continue to be played from time to time on crown media family network channels. Crown listened to its viewers and requested that movies produced contain greater dynamic range of music to dialog. We believe that you will find the audio mix more favorable going forward.

Trying to watch your Christmas movies with all the load background music is so annoying. The music is so loud that we have trouble understanding what the actors are saying. The music needs to be turned down a lot so the viewers can understand what is being said. It is getting so bad that it is no longer entertaining to watch your movies. It is downright annoying!

The constant music during dialogue in the Hallmark movies is so annoying. I have to continually rewind or use closed captioning to be able to hear the dialogue. Please take out the music or reduce the volume please. Thank you

Watching new Halmark Christmas movie, Christmas in Toyland. I have a very good sound system and no matter what settings I use, the music is way to loud and the dialog is unintelligible in most of it. I've noticed this problem for years on Hallmark Christmas movies. I wish I could mix the sound for them.

No It has not been resolved. Not at all. I have always loveed Movies and Mysteries but find it miserable to get through. What idiot ever set at a studio and recorded this into the movie? Was he hard hearing or stoned? Or both. Why was it let go with a seal of approval when finishing the product? Hallmark made their money and just don't care or what? So many many people complain with no help if it even can be removed because it is actually grooved in the movies?

If Hallmark can or can't resolve please be truthful and let us know . And please tell us the person or persons that were responsible to start with. And why the producers let it fly. Its now April 2022.

I agree with you! My husband found it so difficult to understand what the actors were saying because of the music that he would stop watching and refused to watch Hallmark channels, and wants to eliminate them from our TV providers.

Watching One Summer on Hallmark channel. The music is so loud I can hardly hear the dialogue at all. This is constantly being complained about yet nothing is being done about it. Why?

Wake Up! There are a large percentage of people over the age of 65 who are hearing impaired. We love Hallmark movies, but have had to cease watching them because they don't have close captioning and those that do, the captioning does not match the words being spoken or there is a delay. Also, have purchased DVD Hallmark movies that have no captioning and have had to give them away; a waste of my money. PLEASE LISTEN to your seniors. HELP!

I just tried to watch “Don’t Forget I Love You” and had trouble throughout the movie hearing the actors. The background music makes it hard to understand the conversations. The music is so unnecessary, I just don’t enjoy your movies anymore because of it. Please stop the music!

The loud music does not, I repeat does not enhance the movie what so ever.

Was trying to watch Love On The Sloops. The music during most of the dialogue is ruining it for me...I see that numerous other people have also complained. I tried Just Add Romance, and wow, sooooo much better as there is barely any music during speaking, thank goodness! Have some respect for your actors, they are doing a fine job of conveying emotion...you don't need sappy music to tell us how we should feel!

I’m watching It Was Always You, premier tonight. AGAIN or STILL, the music is blaring so loud, much of the dialogue cannot be heard! This SO takes away from these movies and is unfair to the actors!

Yes, the music is not necessary. Have you heard music when you carry on a conversation with someone? If your answer is yes--I am talking to Hallmark CEOs. It does nothing for the viewers and it makes it difficult to hear the actors.

If Hallmark is going out of business, then I can maybe understand someone not monitoring the movies---it shows poor management and lack of concern for the people who pay for Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries.

I am looking forward to the new Christmas movies, but I'm hard of hearing and with the music over powering the talking makes it hard to enjoy the movie. My TV pretty much stays on the Hallmark channel. I have recorded some of them that are my favorite and when it comes on regular TV and the music is so loud, I switch to my recorded one from last Christmas so I can here them talking. There are so many complaints about this. Please do something about it. I hope you do. Thanks.

I found this on the internet. But I never had this problem before now as it just started in the last few weeks. Hallmark music is so loud I can not enjoy the movies anymore. I watch Hallmark everyday and now with all the stress in life already I can not take the loud music over the actors. I need to stress to listen and it is stressing out my nerves. I am sad I now need to stop watching hallmark. I never watch Lifetime because that is what they do. Now Hallmark my favorite channel no more. UGH

Hallmark has six different downloads on Sprint Tools for 11 months. They total to nearly 85.00/month since January - totalling nearly 1000.00 dollars. I have the credit still pending owing Sprint phone for these charges of services I am not getting or using. I live on a very restricted budget due to illness and Sprint has been unable to help me with these issues. Today I told them I just had enough and will be discontinuing my phone service, and breaking my contract with my cell phone provider. Sprint gave me this site as a final recourse. They do not want me to break my contract, so if Hallmark does not credit Sprint back I will have to terminate my cellphone services.

After dealing with professional business people in many different needs. I would like to tell that this group do not stand behind there work and they will have you pay for there mistakes. Although they have a nice web-site and take nice pictures. If you do not see a mistake in there work until later, they may give you a hard time in fixing something they should have caught. The video they show is great, but your video will not be as good as the one they show to you. The albums in there show room are great, but you will not get any of that in the packages they offer with out paying a lot more money than you expected. They business educate is a lot of smoke and mirrors. I know within a few year they will be out of business and the only thing keeping them in business is because they are located behind Lucien’s Manor and sponging off of there clients.

Hallmark has not responded to complaints on continued charges to my cell phone bill, nor called me. I received another bill today totally 12 months of download charges totalling approx 80.00/month times 12 months, nearly $900.00 for this year. Please if anyone can advice me how to get directly in touch with them please let me know.

I love the Hallmark movies. They are the only movies worth watching. I refuse to watch movies with crime or sex. I only watch G rated movies and this is the only channel I can watch. Anyone that wants these kinds of movies can turn on any of the other 150+ channels on TV, I agree that the loud music really is annoying and that it is hard to hear what the actors are saying. I do not have a hearing problem. Please turn down the volume of the background music or remove it completely when a dialogue is going on.

Why must all hallmark movies have that annoying background music playing all through the dialog? I mean really, all movie long?

I was under the impression that the loud music during the movies was going to be taken care of but the dialog in the movies made in 2016 is still too hard to understand because the music is still too loud. There have been several instances where I have wanted to watch a movie but gave up after a short time because of this issue. The dialog is what people watch a movie for so please quit drowning it out.

Watching Hallmark Channel tonight, The Middle 7:PM MT. Wow! Closed Captioning is so bad that I cant watch any more of it. Due to my hearing impairment I count on the captioning on shows, but this is nothing but incoherent captions.

It's not that it is too loud so much as it NEVER STOPS. Do they think we won't get the sappy emotions without it. And don't get me started on the horrible Christmas movies... I was in the other room and my mother was watching the channel and after and hour of hearing only the "dialogue" and the music I yelled will that person just die or cry or get married or whatever that horrible piano is leading to!

Don't you people have an extra movie channel that you can show these awful Christmas movies on! It's ridiculous that you show these movies the 1st of November through January. Not everybody wants to watch these corny movies, they're all the same! Please bring back the Golden Girls, Frasier and the regular lineup!

You say -" please check text and spelling prior to submitting your complaint"... Though the closed -caption workers so not do so !- I'm either reading someone's 2nd grade level of spelling, incoherent group of words, or the lateness of the Words/sentences of the speakers/actors, etc... !, my 8 yr old can do a better job, than the incoherent babble of what is printed on the screen !- ( why bother having anyone, because even at times it don't even show up!?, & if it does the conversation was well done with for 3 minutes !

I am reading complains about the loud background music in Hallmark movies and I noticed that the first complains are from 2010 !
Today is the 19th of August 2015 (two thousand FIFTEEN), so I assume there is no sense in complaining again, as the Hallmark channel is not interested in correcting the problem.

I've been trying to watch the movie called, Class. I can hardly hear the dialog because the music is louder! It's so frustrating that I doubt I'll finish the movie. WHY does anyone create a movie like this? I'm seriously getting a headache trying to decipher what they're saying. Please please please quit doing this to movies that I could otherwise enjoy.

If the music is too loud, which is its... then that must mean that the dialog is too poor, and requires music to cover up the badly written dialog. What else would be reason be to have the music so LOUD? One cannot even keep track of the script because of the unearthly decibels of sound! Either get rid of it by editing the sound out (it can be done), or stop using background music altogether, unless the actors are standing in an elevator.

Where I live I have to pay extra for the Hallmark Channel and the Hallmark Movie channel. However, in the afternoon, there is 4 hours of Diagnosis Murder, where it used to be Hart to Hart, and in the evening it is 4 hours of Murder, She Wrote. There are so many good older programs that used to be on the Television, why run these programs into the ground, what am I paying for? Bring back some of the old movies as well, when a new movie comes out, you play it them and over again. If I never saw another episode of The Waltons, Little House, or Matlock I would be happy. Who are we paying and do they really care?

Please please please lower or stop the annoying loud music on your movies! I love the movies but I "hate" that stupid music! It takes away from the movie, you can't hear the actors unless you turn the column up and that make the dumb music more annoying! Please help with this problem so your fans can continue to be loyal to your programs. I don't understand how you can let this continue?

I am deaf and depend on the close-captioning for my movie enjoyment. I have been using the close-captioned device since it was invented. When I see there is a movie I would like to see on the Hallmark channel, this feeling of dread just comes over me because either the captioning is not working or what the words are being said is not simultaneous to what is being shown. In other words, the captioning is ahead of what's actually happening. I love watching the Hallmark movies and it's always a sure thing that something is not going to go right. Can someone please look into correcting this annoying problem? Otherwise, I will not add the Hallmark channel in our renewal of the satellite contract in the future.

I agree so much with the complaints of the incessant Christmas movies from Thanksgiving until who knows when.
I love watching the old situation comedies-especially Frasier and I Love Lucy. I feel held hostage by someone's really strange idea of what is entertaining for months on end. I don't understand what the purpose of this is.

Please stop with the bad Christmas movies already. Starting on Halloween through the New Year is way to much. STOP already.

Hallmark cranks out 12 new Christmas movies each year, yet many have the same theme...single parent looking for a partner and the perfect guy is right next door. The actors have no chemistry, the plots are poorly written, if there is a plot and you are giving the message that you have to be part of a couple to be happy during the holidays.

Please don't insult our intelligence with these low budget movies and the nonstop showing of them

The movies are quite good, but the background is utterly annoying.

I feel that these comments will fall on deaf ears..

Is there any reason why closed captioning was discontinued? I rely on closed captioning for all my tv viewing. I love all the programs on Hallmark, but I can't hear what is being said. Is there anything we can do to restore this service for elderly persons like me who are deaf or hard of hearing?

I love this season of the year so, naturally, I love Hallmark for the beautiful movies you have produced for us over the years at the holidays such as "The Christmas Shoes", which each time I watched the movie, I, literally, sobbed for days. I notice it hasn't been on for the last couple of years because my stock of tissues isn't running down. I never even hear the song that was written about the story on the radio any more. Very strange. Wonder why?
Regarding your many, many Christmas movies, I feel they're supposed to be fun, touching, poignant, thought-provoking, sweet and
magical. And, that's what they are. I understand some people may find them boring, but, that's okay. Hallmark isn't promising people that they will perform brain surgery; just entertain them. Entertainment to one is not the same as what it is to another. I don't watch "zombie" movies, yet, millions, do. Doesn't bother me. It's a person's right to like or dislike something. I love seeing the older movies such as: "A Boyfriend for Christmas", "The Christmas Card", "The Christmas Visitor", "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and last night, for the first time I caught the movie with Carla Cugina from 1999. I loved it. I laughed, I cried, I cheered and I'm looking forward to seeing it again.
I have to ask. Could you please keep running "The Christmas Card" and "A Boyfriend for Christmas" ? My family would love to see them again and I don't know if you were planning on running them again.
Regarding " closed caption", it would be a very kind thing to do for the good people who patronize your network. My Mom, who just died, had lost her hearing 28 years ago and it hurt her so much that she coiuld not hear TV, sermons, etc. We who are blessed to still have our hearing, but, we need to think about those who don't. Thank you so much and have a blessed Thanksgiving and holy Christmas. Keep up the great efforts.

It's November 2014. Look above Hallmark. People have been complaining about the loud "background" music for years. It's more like the dialog is the background. My ears are ringing from it. I have to turn the volume up to hear the dialog and then the walls vibrate. Why don't you do something about it? Same with Cedar Cove as with the Christmas movies. I have to turn them off after awhile.
