H&R Block / HRB Digital taxes

I am a Status Indian working on reserve. I do not pay taxes, however my non status husband does. We went to H & R Block because my husband had gone there for many years. I was told in March 2010, at H & R Block, that i would be recieving my CPP Payments and EI Payments as a refund. I am not a tax professional and have never claimed to be, which is why i relied on H & R Block to do my taxes correctly. I was then deducted $1400 of my so-called refund because i owed CRA. I was ok with that, and left me with $1200 after H & R Block deductions. Then in April of 2010 i was sent a letter from the CRA claiming i still owed $1400. Then in December of 2010, i was sent a letter from H & R Block Collections Department saying i owed $1222.39. More than they even gave me!
I have since spoken to a Canada Revenue Agent and it was explained very clearly to me that H & R Block should NOT have given me any refund and they did my taxes wrong. The CPP and EI payments i make every year, can and will be beneficial to me in the future. H & R Block should have known, that if they refund me my CPP and EI, I will never be eligible to use these services in the future. I absolutely will need a Pension plan and collecting Unemployment Insurance is an absolute option i must have, especially with todays economy, or if i were to take maternity leave or am unable to work for any reason. I am now being hassled and will be charged 24% interest if i continue to delay this collection from H & R Block. I spoke to a representative from H & R Block and he said they did not make a mistake and i will have to pay immediately. This is where i am at now. Any informatiom will be extremly helpful to me at this time.

H&R Block / HRB Digital poor service and messed up taxes

We went to H & R block last year and we received a letter from IRS that we owe 891.00. When we went to H & R block they found that they messed up and missed read w2s but yet they will not pay the 891.00 even tho admitt that they messed up. it took theo 2 weeks to respond to any phone calls and their policy says they will pay for albitatary but yet they will not give us information about it. I cannot beleive that they are not held accountable for thier actions, they are signing since we sign the taxes we agreed to it.

jalp1980, why did you sign off on the return? Duh!
If you don't want to take responsibility for YOUR tax return, then pay the fee and go back to sleep.

Why the heck should I have to purchase additional insurance for 35.00 to ensure they do their job properly? That's like having to pay your nurse extra to make sure they give you the right medications. Does that make sense? They screwed up, they should pay, end of story. I bet if they were liable for their errors they would train their people better don't you think? My "professional"tax lady put my income on the wrong line. She put my income on a line used only for company dividends and profit sharing, isn't that the 1st thing these people learn? I will NEVER go back there again!

The IRS verifies that the name on the bank account matches the name and social security number on the return. If the owned had attempted to deposit the taxpayers refund into his account the IRS would notice the name mismatch and mail a paper check to the tax payers address.

This complaint is either bogus or this isn't the whole story.

If H&R Block made an error they will pay the penalty and interest.
The tax is rightfully yours to pay.
Contact the District Manager for help in filing a claim for the penalty and
interest. If you had purchased the Peace of Mind, H&R Block would
have covered the entire amount. Good Luck!

I am frustrated with H&R Block. I have been a loyal customer for 11 years and this year they screwed up, admitted it, but refuse to even give me half of the $282.00 i paid them to do my taxes. I am no longer a loyal customer, I am no longer a customer period! What do they stand by? Themselves! I'll take my business elsewhere, thand you very much.

H&R Block / HRB Digital bad service

I've been reading the articles complaining about HR Block's Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) and the allegation that they target low income tax payers, those that receive EITC. I worked one season at Block many years ago and "sold" many RAL's to customers. I can personally attest to the following:

1) We were never told to target anyone or any group.

2) We were told to offer the RAL to everyone receiving a refund.

3) We always explained that it was a loan that would be paid off by the refund - one of the papers was the loan app, another was the authorization for the IRS to pay the loan off (I think it was a direct deposit to the loan account).

4) We, at least I, always explained the the fees associated with the RAL, how much their refund should be, and how much they would be getting back.

5) It was the customer's option whether to pay for the preparation fees from the refund via the RAL. They could have paid for the preparation by any means.

6) Some of the low income people I served probably would not understand adjusting withholding; probably not trust changing the amount to have more during the year; and probably not change it if they thought it would reduce their IRS refund. I really don't think many of them understood what was going on.

We sold the RALs with all information up front, we are not the low income people's keepers, it is their responsibility to make decisions, we informed them of the facts, nobody twisted their arms. How far will society go to protect people from themselves?
I also have this to say...

The group of people these articles say were victimized may very well have been desperate for money, so much so that the difference between the 2 day RAL and the 4 to 6 weeks for the check was going to make real difference to them. The 2 week direct deposit was NOT an option for many of these customers as they often did not have a bank account, as odd as that sounds. Also, these are people who are used to cashing checks at check cashing businesses which charge outrageous fees, so HRB's RAL rate was probably not unusual.

As for the high rates, they probably could be lowered, but there is a probably small risk with RALs, such as the IRS have court-ordered withholding for child support or other reason. Again, such actions are probably taken against low-income people more often than not.

There is cause and effect here, but I believe that the low-income people are not being victimized by HRB, at least not any more than any other business. If the government wants to help raise people out of poverty, then create jobs for them, lower their tax liability, etc.

H&R Block / HRB Digital mistreated

This morning my son had a 10 a.m. appointment. We got him there in plenty of time.. Well, he waited for 2.5 hours before he even got seen and it was not with the person it was made with. Then it only took 15 minutes. We kept asking and watching people come in after us and go right back. I just wanted to walk out and go somewhere else but my son kept saying we are next. It Was with H&R Block in Gaylord Mi. Then the worst thing the lady who did it acted like she was high and didn't know what she was doing.. I think it's time to start going somewhere else and have them done by people who know how to treat people and not lie about the charges. He didn't make much last summer. I stayed cause my son wanted them done and over with or we would have been gone 30 minutes after the time we were supposed to be seen.. If it was that busy they should have said something and not lied to us about your next.. To me your next means your next. Not watching people walk in and out that came in way after you for 2.5 hours. So next year we are going to really think about who will be doing our taxes for us..

H&R Block / HRB Digital direct deposit scam

We filed our taxes online with HR BLOCK. We paid to have our fee taken out of our direct deposit for our taxes. They fail to inform you that when IRS deposits the money to their account that it is another THREE DAYS before you receive your money! Direct Deposit means exactly what it means...immediate...not three days later. After talking to several people at HR Block, I got nowhere at all. Just I'm sorry to inconvinence you and with a run around about how ACH is direct deposit. It just takes three days to process. Bunch of crap.

H&R Block / HRB Digital charged me to delay my tax refund

I had my taxes done at HnR Block and they recommended the RAC as the fastest way to receive my money. I went on the IRS website this morning and discovered that HnR Block has received my tax return, but I will not receive their "rapid anticipation loan" (my late refund minus their huge fee) for 4 more days. It is not rapid, it is not in anticipation of anything since they have received MY money already, and it is not a loan. I payed them 400 bucks to delay my refund by an additional 4 days. All the customer service worker could say was "sorry" and "I understand your anger". I will never go there again. I am so mad I would like to picket in front of their local branch. Hate em.

H&R Block / HRB Digital over charged

Have your taxes done by a private tax preparer. While my tax man was completing my tax forms, he called HR Block and asked for an estimate on how much someone would have to pay for completion of the forms he was telling them (the forms he filled out for me). HR Block quoted over DOUBLE the amount this tax preparer charged me. DO NOT go to HR Block. They overcharge! HR Block is the OLD way of doing taxes. Look at other means of this service (outside tax preparers/software programs). You sit with a preparer and there is no privacy between cubicles.

H&R Block / HRB Digital the outrageous charges to file your taxes

After having our taxes done for a few years now at H&R Block and paying the astronomical fees for years, this year we really needed to save those fees to help towards other troubled areas in our life. My husband went as normal to get them prepared at H&R Block and when it came time to file he told the woman that he has been dealing with for years.. that this year we wanted to send them in the good old fashion way so we could save the money. She told him it doesn't matter what way he files the costs are the same $355! Next year we will be going else where my stomach is SICK and the unfortunate thing is 2011 tax year we probably would have went back to filing as normal paying $3++ but with the lack of OPTIONS to file on your own once they are prepared and compassion to those that just cannot afford it has been a real turn off.

H&R Block / HRB Digital never been treated so terribly

I went to H&R Block today to have my taxes done. The service was friendly and seemed professional. When it came time to file my taxes after they had been done I was asked to sign a piece of paper to file the taxes. Before I signed I asked if there were any fees if so what were they. I was told my fees were $340 after being given a first time user discount. I asked her what the fees were for and she gave me a laundry list of the fees and their reasoning. After explaining to the woman that I did not have that kind of money and could not afford to have that kind of money to come out of my taxes she continued to pressure me to filing because I didn't know how to do my own taxes and I've taken up her time(she was with me for a total of 10 minutes) and it would be rude not to file. It made me very uncomfortable and I had to insist that she not file them because that was a large amount of money for me and I had to at least mull over the decision before I made that large of a purchase for my taxes. I told her I had no issue paying for the $29 dollar consultation fee that was posted on the wall that said if I didn't file I had to pay the fee. She then grabbed my cash and led me up to the front of the busy office where she started to hollar to the lady at the front desk that I needed change because I wasn't filing and then started laughing to herself that she was sick of people wasting her time. I turned to her and told her that I was sorry if she felt I wasted her time but that in this economy especially in Michigan I would hope she would understand that $340 is a lot for a single mother of two to be shelling out for anything. She turned and stormed off shaking her head. I have never felt so embarassed in my entire life and I didn't do anything wrong. The sign clearly states that you have the option to not file and I chose that option and made no issue of paying the fee. I feel I was treated very unfairly. And I find the fees a bit outrageous considering my parents taxes are much more complicated than mine and they pay their accountant less than $300 to prepare theirs. I hope others shop around before they commit to any tax company, not just H&R block and truly make sure you're getting the best deal possible.

My husband used H&R Block but they were a total disaster closing his mom's estate. We now use a real accountant. We found out the staff that meet customers can fill out the company's forms and have received some in-house training but they are not accountants and it shows. I agree with glen2nd that you're better off doing your own taxes.

H&R Block / HRB Digital errors

Professional Tax Service? I don't think so!

Upon our first initial visit with our local H&R Block office, the atmosphere seemed to be professional.

We met with someone who started to prepare our tax return. Once finished my wife and I signed everything and then went home.

The next day we received a phone call from the lady who prepared our taxes for us and she stated that the IRS had rejected our return. Further into the conversation I found out that they had placed the wrong last name down for my wife.

I gave the correct information to the lady as requested and even spelled it out for her, and then the call ended.

A day later we received yet another call, this time from a different tax lady who claimed that our return had yet again been rejected. She stated that the name this time had been misspelled. I corrected the spelling yet again and the call ended.

The day that we were supposed to receive our refund my wife and I contacted the bank to check on the deposit, and guess what, NO MONEY WAS DEPOSITIED.

With concern, my wife and I contacted the IRS to find out what was going on. Upon speaking with the IRS we found out that due to the tax people at H&R Block making all these errors that our refund had been sent to the error department for verification and would take an additional one to two weeks for processing.

At this time my wife and I were very upset so we contacted the Amelia office to inform them of the situation.

They had stated that since they had already given us a discount the day that we had filed our return, that they would not be able to discount any other fees. When we asked about the Guarantee that H&R Block has, the lady changed the topic and stated that they would not be able to help us. I then demanded to be contacted by the Manger or Franchise Owner, the lady then told me that she was just a Tax Associate (Teddy) and that she would have the franchise owner Karen contact us later that evening.

The lady that contacted us was very rude and was only trying to protect H&R Block and had no interest in us, the consumer. She not once admitted the blame that the IRS had confirmed to be the fault of H&R Block!

My suggestion would be to not use H&R Block. You can google their name and find countless complaints about them. It is best to use TaxACT or some other at home filing program so that this does not happen to you!

Your wife probably failed to change her Social Security Card after getting married. Was this your first joint return? I don't see how H&R Block could have put the 'wrong' name down for your wife unless they put down her married name, when in fact her SS card contained her maiden name. Wasn't the screen facing you? Wasn't it printed on almost EVERY PAGE? Then, when giving the H&R Block preparer the name that is actually on the SS card, it was misspelled? I could see this happening, but really, you did this over the phone. Now, I've seen returns be rejected multiple times by the IRS and I have NEVER heard of any going to the IRS 'error department for verification' due to the rejects. More than likely, it went for verification because your accepted return had your wife's maiden name on it, whereas her W-2's and other documents were probably in her married name. NOT H&R BLOCK'S FAULT!

You said: "Further into the conversation I found out that they had placed the wrong last name down for my wife."

Your wife should know her own name. Hint: It is on her Social Security card. It never ceases to amaze me how people will sign documents without paying any attention whatsoever to what they are signing.

Should the preparer have demanded to see both of your Social Security cards to verify your names and ensure correct spelling, well yes that would have certainly helped, but a lot of people do not carry
their SS cards. The Social Security Administration even tells people
they should not carry their cards because of the risk of identity
theft. Regardless, it is the duty of every taxpayer to ensure they are submitting a correct return. That means YOU need to check it.

After the 1st rejection, you attempted to correct the error over the
phone. Personally, I would have stopped by the office to make the correction. Cell phones are great and all, but sometimes they
are garbled and can lead to misspellings and misunderstandings.
A lot of people take a rather cavalier attitude when it comes to filing their taxes. When something bad happens they usually learn that filing a tax return can have severe consequences especially if something on the return is incorrect. Good Luck next year.

Where to start? "...of when is the lastest I would receive the federal return no latler than today"

First of all, they do to not provide a range of dates when your refund will be available. They give you a single date. You should have received a small card with a phone number at the bottom of the card.
That number which starts out 1-866 is for Versicom and if you call it on your disbursement date, they can tell you if the funds have been
released.

If you did not receive that card, look for the RAC paperwork and see what date your tax preparer wrote down for the disbursement date.

If you did not get either of these, then I would immediately contact
the District Manager overseeing the office you visited.

It is true that some banks will hold the payment for 3 business days.
The amount your brother and aunt received is irrelevant and has no
bearing whatsoever on your case. Is it possible that you owed back
taxes, State or Federal, or perhaps you defaulted on a student loan, or
owe H&R Block or an affiliate for something from a prior year? Any of
these could prevent your refund from showing up when expected.

You signed up for the State RAC and the Federal RAC. When the State RAC funds first, H&R Block takes their fees from it. If the amount of the
refund is not enough to cover your tax prep fee, then they take the
rest from your Federal RAC when it funds. The $20 charge is for the
Federal RAC check, you are paying that fee because you do not have
a checking/savings account at a bank. You could have avoided the $20
charge if you had directed your Federal refund to the Emerald Debit MasterCard that H&R Block offers. The Emerald Card is free and is
a good alternative for people who do not have or are unable to get a
checking/savings account at a bank.

I filed my taxess on jan 27th. I signed the RAC. So according to their mouths and their worksheet of when is the lastest I would receive the federal return no latler than today. My husband and I did itemize quite a few things. I go to school, the costs and what not we have a child and what not. Its a large tax return. Well needless to say... I've been filing with them for gosh the past7 maybe 8 years. Never had a problem with them til recently. They promised me with dd with the RAC it would be there. By day 15. Well I spoke to the irs and they released my funds. The current issue is, I have yet to see it hit my bank account. Don't get me wrong they have an * to say your bank may withhold the refund for 1-4 business days. I'm fine with that. My bank would a. Let me know its there. I have phone call text and e-mail alerts set with my bank to let me know of every and any transaction including pending. Now I've spoken with my bank several times in the past week. Too many times today. My husband went as far as calling another center to find out what's going on. 9k is a lot of money. All year round we pay an additional 15% towards our taxes from our weeekly pay checks. This way we're garuneteed a refund. I don't wrk all year round, only when I'm out of school. I'm a nursing student. I'm currently not working, my husband is sole worker in the house hold. We normally don't count on money we don't see. But concidering their promise of my refund to be in the bank and with certain family issue, we fell behind on bills and thabkfully we have an awesome landlord, or'd we be screwed. We finally got intouch with someone around4-4:30p. They informed us that the IRS did release our funds. Ok so why is it not in my account? Well it. Was released to our bank and it can hold the funds for 1-4 business days. What? That's not in your current pamphlet you provided, it states OUR bank can hold the funds, if issues should arise contact ourl bank. It says nothing about your bank. Well you should see it in our account by Wednesday. This was upsetting. So I question them and your also going to tell me my bank can hold it for another 1-4 businessdays? This is beyond the promised time. I've never had an issue til now, family has warned me of their issue and why they changed tax preps. But I stayed when more than half my family left. But I think I'm going somewhere else next tax season. Other companies offer same audit proection and promises. I would understand if this was a new company I'm trying but this is sad! They said their was a slim chance that my funds would be relased to my bank. My tax prep is the same as evry year. She is awesome. Her supervisor is who told us of when we would get our money. I don't understand the run around. More is to my disbelif, my brother and aunt filed the very same day and about the same amount as I and thy gt their returns on the 4th. What is the issue. I paid close to/ around 350-400 for their services. I'm requestings my fee's be reembursed. They screwed up. I wentthrough all the paper work an it says nothing about them or their bank holding my funds for extended peroid of time. I told them I definately reporting them to BBB. And I will be doing that in the morning. I would make sure your careful and you get a clear black and white copy of when is the latest you will receive your refund. No wonder hsbc pulled away from them.

H&R Block / HRB Digital fraud alert

I applied for and was approved for an emerald advance based on my estimated refund, the loan was for 900 and the refund was to be 4700. Wrong. Way wrong. The funny thing is... None of my income verification changed from the day of the estimate/loan to the day I had the taxes actually filed. I am not complaining about the outrageous interest, fees, ect. Just the fact that they lied about my refund so that I would borrow money I wasnt actually due to get back. I think it is fraud to mislead people in that way. I plan to do more than just complain.

H&R Block / HRB Digital refund

My wife took her taxes to h&r block on 1/29/11. She used itemized deductions. (This is the key) she was told her refund of almost $3000 would be available between feb 8th and 11th. Today being the 9th she called the block office here to get the number to check the status. She was given the irs's number. She called a second time and was give the block #. It said that her return had not been accepted by the irs.
Later in the day she called the local block office and was told that the irs was not accepting itemized filings until feb 15th, and it would probably be another two weeks after that when they would put the money of her h&r block emerald card.
This all wouldn't be a real big deal except for when you expect to get your money by a certian date, you make plans for that money. Unfortunately the plans we made were keeping our electric, water, cable, internet, telephones, rent payment and a few other frivolous things like buying food and maybe some gas for the car.
I tried to call block about it, but since it is my wife's return they wouldn't even let me start a complaint.

So if you plan on itemizing deductions you need to wait until after the 15th. All tax preparers should be aware of this, since it came out in the december tax laws. I guess our preparer was absent the day they went over the new laws.

It was just a STOP GAP measure. To buy just a little more time before total financial ruin.

I knew someone would point that out. Congratulations - you are the first.

The money is the second point - the MAIN point is the fact that a COMPENSATED TAX PREPARER misled a customer and the "corporate" stance is "Too Bad, So Sad". Which is what else I'm sure you would have put into your message.

Let's just agree to disagree on this one, your point is made and it is true. The only difference is you aren't going to be in the dark and without water at the end of this week.

Never judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes.

It has been 24 days now since I filed my taxes. H & R Block told me I would have a check if filed with the RAC program. I first filed on 1/18/11 and IRS says my taxes were okay. I went to the where's my refund web site and the site states that they have sent my check. My check is suppose to go to the HR Blocks bank to be processed so they can get their fees from me. After that they are suppose to direct deposit the check in my account. Every time I call my local office they tell me they have no way of knowing where it's at. I go to the online site and ask questions regarding this matter, and they delete every question I ask. I feel they do this so other sustomers doesn't see their unprofessional ethics. They will not answer my phone calls anymore nor will anyone talk to me. I will say this again. IRS has released my refund to HR Bank, so in other words HR Block has my money but yet they refuse to let me know what is happening. On top of that they charged me an additional 60.00 to do the RAC program, and promised I will have a refund in 15 days. What can I do, no one will talk to me or answer my questions?

After 10 managers and employees at every level, nobody can find my check...i am getting absolutely nowhere. I had to wait 2.5 weeks just to speak to a person at the location i used...and it was by appt only, still nothing...a lost Federal refund check, ..i am so upset, this money was for my daughters graduation trip, we cant go now, in fact, i cant even pay my rent right now. H&R block lost my check and nobody i have talked to will help me. my next complaint is to the BBB and the Federal Government. i wont let this rest, because of h&R blocks error, my family suffers. What would you do? Please, someone help me. Without the run around and the 90 day wait. thats ridiculous service.

Where was your return? If your wife itemized deductions on her return and you are filing Married Filing Separately, then you are REQUIRED to itemize also. Did BOTH your preparers fail to mention the IRS delay? Considering that H&R Block's computer systems had a big Warning message as to the delay pop up when preparing a Schedule A, it seems unlikely that it would be missed.

Don't go to the online site and ask questions, and don't call the local office. GO PHYSICALLY BACK INTO THE OFFICE! Talk to the manager - don't be abusive or rude - but forcefully demand they call H&R Block bank (there IS a number for them) and find out what happened to your money. It should only be maximum of 3 days from the IRS deposit to your bank deposit. Something is wrong, like perhaps you owed back taxes or child support or outstanding student loans and the IRS garnished your refund to the point where there was nothing left after H&R Block took out their fees. OR you owed H&R Block or its affiliates something from prior years.

The RAC charge should have been $32.95
Take a look at your Advantage Report to verify that number.

I agree that H&R Block are making promises that they can't keep. They have also lied to me. I recomend not filing with H&R block anymore. They should train their employees to be honest and professional. I filed my taxes early Jan. and I didn't itemize. IRS told me they released my check and that it went to H R Block so they could get their money for prepreation fees. Then it was suppose to be deposited into my account. Every time I call them they tell me that they can't find out where the money is. It's in their possesion any they are responsible for my refund. They delete every question I ask at the HR Block web site where you ask questions. They just keep running me around. IRS doesn't have my money anymore so where is it? It's not in my account and no one will talk to me.

I don't like H &R Block either, the one time I used them, they stated we owed three hundred in taxes. I wasn't given the tax credit for my children, and the "mistake" was caught by the IRS! We got a refund check for three thousand dollars. When my ex husband and I complained at the office our taxes were done, they refused to even offer an explanation, as to why one of their employee could be so neglectful. I wanted a refund the money we paid for our tax preperation, we were refused. I still don't understand how anyone could be so lousy at their job...

On 02-08-2011, I arrived at a scheduled tax appointment at H&R Block at 7:00pm. I met with tax consultant, Quinessa, and began filing my taxes. After hearing I would owe this year I knew an error had been made. I requested we stop the process so I could go home, call my company, before filing. Tax consultant refused to return to me my tax information...

H&R Block / HRB Digital treatment of employees

H & R Block has been providing free tax services for people who use Form 1040EZ. Most preparer work on commission and H & R Block does not pay them for doing these returns. There for the prices are raised for those who have to pay. Another case of those who have some people having to pay so the others can get something free.

I am more than happy to prepare taxes for a free 1040 EZ client. I give that client the same great service I give to any paying client. Hopefully, that client will continue to come to me later on when he or she has dependents, deductions, etc. The Free EZ program is a program designed to develop a relationship with young or lower-wage earning clientele, for the future. It's a great program that benefits everyone! I've been working for HRB for 7 years and I care for my clients. I'm not worried about my commission. My goal is to get the best possible result for my clients, and have them return to me next year. There are lots of tax pros like me working for Block. Karma pays!

Not quite true bbcddms.
While it is true H&R Block is not charging for the 1040EZ, it is not true
that the preparers get nothing. In fact, they still get what is referred to
in the biz as their "sit down money". This can be as much as $15 or so. Not bad for what should be no more than 30 minutes work.

In fact, if you are unfortunate enough to live in a state that requires a
state tax return, then your preparer will likely make nearly $5.00 more for preparing the state return, which in most cases takes no more than 1 additional minute if that long.

H&R Block / HRB Digital misleading advertisement

I have purchased H&R Block the last 2 years and Tax Cut before that. The box says +State. Which means state tax program included. Which the way it has always been. I purchased H&R Block Deluxe becasue it has everything I need. Well when I go to the state part I was required to purchase a state program which I had to do because I could not return what I bought because I had opened it. I am extremely dissappointed with this program. They cheated me out of $39.95. I ended up paying all most twice as much. This is not right with the economy the way it is nobody can afford to pay more for things and this was very sneaky on there part. Please let everyone know about this and maybe we can stop it from happening next year.

H&R Block / HRB Digital scam

I went to Hr Block to get the rapid 24-48 hour refund to get a car quick to get back and forth to work. After signing all of my papers agreeing to pay the 368.00 prep fee and the 32.00 bank fee, she then tells me that they have changed policy to every one having to wait 8-15 days for your return and still called it a refund anticipation. The thing that bothered me was that I told her that I needed my refund asap to get a car and she still waited until I agreed to pay to tell me this. I will not be going back as I see that as dishonest.

I had used H & R block last you and filed a basic return for free. However this year at the end They wanted $29.95 to file. Customer service said during the process they down loaded last years information, changing you Free file to basic that is $29.95 to file. You are only told this at the end after all your time and effort. Beware, they are counting on you to give in and pay the charge. Very deceptive and deliberate! I will try Turbo Tax free online service. H and R Block should be made to stop this deceptive scam.

After filing with H&R Block my familly member was asked if she wanted the antcipation loan in which she was later found to be declined. Understanding filing fees is one thing. Not telling people they still get charged is not right. Don't give me the fine print scam bologna. Bad way to do business. What's the credit check for? The money is from the Government. There is no payback schedule. Scam!

I went to H&R Block for the early loan at Christmas and was approved for a $900.00 loan. Before I took the loan I asked my preparer how and if I could reserve some of the loan for my payments. She replied yes. I asked her how much could be reserved and she told me as much as I wanted of the $900.00 could be reserved and could only be taken out of reserve by me calling and having it transferred to available credit. Ok, so I reserved $100.00 for the use of making my payments. Well when I called to make the transfer, the money was not there.

They are doing this to everyone. They just settled a huge lawsuit with thier bank and cant provide a 1-2 day ral loan unless you have a credit score of more than 700+ So since the IRS is not releasing any previous debts a consumer might owe state/ or federal like they did in years past, H & R Block leaves out this little tidbit of information til you already agree and they have filed your paperwork. Lovely aint it!

First of all. H&R Block is NOT advertising "free simple refunds".

They are advertising Free 1040EZ preparation and filing.
Whether you have a refund or a balance due is irrelevant.

Second, your tax preparer has a duty to get you the maximum
refund allowed by law, not the cheapest possible return.

Third, when you saw the price of the return was not free, why did you then sign the documents instructing H&R Block to e-file your tax return?

What you need to learn right now, is you don't sign a contract
instructing a company to take action on your behalf unless you do
in fact want them to take that action.

Life is hard. It is even harder if your stupid. Start taking responsibility
for your actions.
