Great Expressions Dental Centers front office manager

The office manager at Great Expressions Jonesboro, Ga location has the nastiest, most rude attitude I've encountered and the front office is not friendly.
The office manager has a very nasty attitude and makes Dr. Steven Smith look bad even though he's a decent dentist. I will NOT be back & will caution everyone to stay away from Great Expressions!

Great Expressions Dental Centers dental services

My complaint involves the Eagles Landing Parkway Office in Stockbridge, Georgia and centers on the following:

1. Front office needs to be replaced with individuals who can pretend, at least, to enjoy their job. They need to understand that they represent a brand, which is Great Expressions. A cursory visit to the office will reveal to anyone who is about to spend their money that these people obviously hate being at work-and the customers feel it;

2. I called several times after visiting the office to get a handle on my bill in order to contact my insurance company without success. I called another facility for assistance and the information was immediately mailed . I later received the information from the Stockbridge office;

3. In checking with other dental facilities, comparing costs, I discovered that my bill was out of alignment with what the estimated cost would be at other similar dental practices;

4. It appears that the dental practice was more interested in defining how much they could bill me for, rather than to address the reason for my visiting the facility;

5. Because I had a broken tooth and an abscess, the supervising dentist prescribed an antibiotic and pain medications leading up to the time that several teeth would be removed via surgery; and

6. I finished the antibiotic and attempted to have it refilled due to the continued abscess without success. I talked with two staff members of the facility, along with my pharmacist contacting the office to no avail.

I will go through with the scheduled surgery but from my experiences, I would not advise anyone in their right mind to visit the Stockbridge, Georgia, Great Expressions Dental Center.

Great Expressions Dental Centers root canal and crown unfinished

After receiving my root canal my temporary crown fell off the next day. I called to let them know and was told just not to chew on it and it would be fine until I get my permanent crown. The day before my appointment for my crown I received a call telling me they no longer have a dentist so I would have to wait for them to call once they got one. After a couple weeks of getting frustrated I called and left a message. Then once again I called a week after that no response. I finally called care credit after all this time of making payments to see what my options were. I was told to dispute it so I did and got a refund. The money was returned to care credit and now my wife gets a bill for my procedure that was never completed. Now I don't see how it is possible to try to charge my wife after I was received a refund. If this isn't taken care of right away we will be suing great expressions not only was the job not done I am entitled great pain over the last few months. I don't know how great expressions think they can pull this one. I'm hoping it's just a computer sending out a bill by mistake. Because I am now sitting here with a stub of a tooth that always hurts. Feel free to give me a call I wrote this down because I am very angry and didn't want to forget anything. [protected] sincerely a very angry SEAN WEBBER

Great Expressions Dental Centers false practice-no ethics - no respect for clients / the dentist who messed up my tooth

I went back after 5 years and had the best hygienist. However, days after getting my teeth clean and examined I was told she left because of conflict with Dr. Bininan. On April 28th I went into great expression and was told I was preparing for a crown. I remember feeling uneasy. However, he was the Dentist and an experience individual so I thought. They numb the area and then the dentist whom I still felt uneasy with started drilling. The pain of the instrument pierce my gums and I could feel that something wasn't right. He kept drilling for hours as his voice assured me that there was not so much blood, but he should be done shortly. The drilling seemed like an eternity and finally he was done and left the assist to finish up. Tsegay an Armenia spoke little English and I later found out he was fresh out of dental school practicing at Great expression dental. The assistant took an impression and then scheduled a 4 week appointment claiming she was giving me time to heal. Looking back I wondered if she knew that this man had just prep me for a root canal and not a crown (side eye).

I left with no medication, no instruction about caring for the area or nothing. ON sat night I was in so much pain I called my mom who's a nurse and she told me to take some Advil, which I did. On Sunday-Monday the pain increased. I then contact the office Great Expression dental on Lavista road and spoke with office manager Beth who is Caucasian she said she would have the dentist call me after explaining to her I was in so much pain and could not eat, sleep or work. The dentist never called me. On May 2nd I called back and explained the pain is excruciating and I cannot bear it any longer could I come into the office. The same Caucasian manager up front said "I'm so sorry we can get you in on May 2rd at 4pm. The pain got so back I began crying at work, and was told I needed to go home and rest. On May 3rd I call back to Great expression and the guy who is the only receptionist and who's so nice (the only one) told me that he can get me in 2:30 on the 3rd so I took it.
On May 3rd I left work early got to the appointment in tear, mourning and sat until my name was called. As the assistant took me back she began taking a series of x-rays. Mr. Bininan came in and stated that"I'm sorry to tell you, but you're going to need a root canal.

Immediately I got very annoyed and told him you prepared my tooth you claimed for a crown, you said I needed a crown now you're stating I need a root canal "Are you kidding me? He got loud and stated he was the dentist and what he says goes and I needed not challenge him about his job. Bininan didn't back - down as I told him to fix it he lied and grind my tooth down to the ground nothing was wrong with my tooth before he worked on it. Then, the Caucasian manager comes in as he stated to me: If you don't leave I'm calling the cops. I told him to go right ahead I'll be right here and stated it's funny how when an intelligent black person speaks their mind you people thrown out words like"I feel threaten (Beth the managers words).

They didn't call the cops after threatening to do so and I eventually left still in pain and upset that now I have to start over after this inexperience non - English speaking disrespectful dentist messed me up for life.

Great Expressions Dental Centers root canal

I had an appointment a week ago and had a consultation for a tooth that has been bothering me. I found out that I would need a root canal and crown. The estimated cost after insurance was about $1000. After speaking with the financial advisor in the office, we agreed that I could pay $246.25 in four payments. She and I both singed the agreement. A week goes by and now it's the day before my appointment and I get a call saying that the agreement is no longer in place.

Now it's a day before my appointment and they call to say that the agreement is no longer in place because the office manager and dentist need 60% up front. That's $721 I need to have ONE day before my appointment! And to top it off, if I cancel my appointment due to THEIR miscommunication within the office, I will have to pay a $25 cancellation fee! This is one of the WORST experiences I've had with a dentist. I am a patient that has been in pain for over a week and no one cares. I am a CUSTOMER because I am paying for services and I should be treated as such. They should honor the agreement that we BOTH signed and move on with the care as expected. I plan to change dentists immediately after I have this procedure taken care of. I am beyond disgusted with this entire situation.

Great Expressions Dental Centers unethical behavior and scam from brandon cohen and the office manager neisha

Great Expressions... more like a great depression.

I made an appointment with Great Expressions dental office because before Great Expressions bought the practice, there was a dentist that used to care about the patients. So, I went ahead a made an appointment, which did not come in my greatest interest. My appointment was scheduled for regular cleaning, but the office told me I needed an X-ray and an oral examination since it has been 2 years that I did one.

Thus, I went ahead and did my X-ray and oral exam. However, following that the doctor (Brandon Cohen) recommended deep cleaning that costs over $900. I requested the doctor to have a regular cleaning instead of a deep cleaning. The doctor refused to give me a regular cleaning. OMG! I was in pain when he was examining my gums and my teeth. He was rough and indifferent to my health even though nothing was wrong with me. He is just there to make money and doesn't care about his patients. He told me it was the company's policy and he has nothing to do with it.

The same day I called the customer service for the company, they told me that the company has nothing to do with it and it is solely based on the dentist's decisions. This tells you that the employees and the company as a whole have no morals, no shame, liars and deceivers and want to make the patients suffer and rob them out of money. Finally, I called the office and I told them to email my X-ray to a different doctor's office and request their email address.

GUESS WHAT?! They gave me a fake email address. Can you imagine?! What kind of company robs their patients of honesty! Great Expressions does! THIS IS A WARNING TO EVERYONE WHO'S LOOKING FOR A GREAT DENTAL COMPANY! STAY AWAY FROM GREAT EXPRESSIONS! THE EXPRESSION ON MY FACE WAS DECEIT AND HORROR!

Yours Truly,

A patient who's trying to help other patients

Great Expressions Dental Centers billing department

The dental work I received here was decent.

Their billing department however, is complete garbage. I had work done back in January that was covered 100% by insurance resulting in a bill with a $0 balance. Now in July, there is a new bill created by whatever new billing software they changed to that claims I owe $300 all of a sudden...SIX MONTHS AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE AND BILLED! This $300 was paid by SOMEONE on the original statement, but not the new one.

They literally showed me the statement from January showing a $0 balance where the $300 had been paid and then told me that that one was no good anymore since changing the billing system and I now owe the $300.

Sounds to me like someone's double dipping and I'll be sending this in to my insurance company so their lawyers can investigate them for fraud.

Stay away! Or, at the very least, get every bill you pay off signed by someone on the staff. It's very likely that whoever signs it won't be there in six months due to the ridiculous turnover here, but you'll have something that hopefully they can use to go back and verify. I used this dentist for about a year or two before they joined up with Great Expressions without complaint. Ever since they made the switch it's been nothing but trouble. This is the final straw. My family and I won't be back.

Great Expressions Dental Centers dental services

Had a deep cleaning, insurance pays $36 per quad at 2 quads per visit.

Great Expressions said they could all quads at the same time but failed to tell me my insurance would only pay for 2 quads per visit (they knew but just did not tell me).

I had 4 quads done at once not knowing, now I received a bill from Great Expressions stating I owe them $72 for the two quads not covered.

I told them the service is covered under my insurance and they replied "Your insurance would only pay for 2 quads per visit", I asked them why did you not tell me that in the first place and I would have made a second appointment, they could not give me an answer.

I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THE COMPANY AGAIN, rude customer service, tech's and office personnel not knowing their jobs.

I have never been happy with Great Expressions/Dentaland. The only reason I went to them is they excepted my Humana HMO dental insurance.

Now, I will spend the extra money on a PPO Dental Plan and not have to go the these "Dental-Mills".

BEWARE...BEWARE...BEWARE

Great Expressions Dental Centers unethical behaviour / fradulent changes

This office is focused only on making as much money as they can from each patient. I went with my kids to get our 6 months cleaning and because they were running behind schedule they had to split us up and so I was not in the room with the hygienist or dentist when they called my then 14 yr. old son in for his cleaning. The staff at this practice is fully aware that I do not authorize procedures which are not covered under my insurance policy. So without my permission, they applied fluoride to my son's teeth. Then on another visit, they applied sealant to 4 teeth that they themselves had applied sealant to on a previous.
Upon receiving my EOB, I immediately contacted them and told them that the insurance is requesting that they resubmit the claim with the correct teeth numbers to which they had refused. Fast forward a year later and the charges are still being disputed and now they had to nerve to freeze my account and turned it over to collection?. Today my mom took my son for his monthly braces adjustment and they harassed her about the "outstanding" charges and refused to schedule any future appointment for my son's orthodontic procedure. People beware of this practice.

Great Expressions Dental Centers unsatisfactory communication and treatment. questionable knowledge base for my dental concern.

I had four appointments during the summer of 2014. The first appointment was a cleaning, dental x-rays, diagnosis of a crown that needed replacing and a cavity. The second was a fitting for the new crown and filling the cavity. The third was the placement of the new crown and the fourth was trimming the new crown to better fit. I should have cancelled out after my first appointment but this was my first new dentist after moving away from my hometown dentist and I was not sure what to expect. The most disturbing moments of my ordeal was sitting out in the hall (while patients and staff were walking around) waiting to pay for all my work before hand. I waited once while two personal had a long conversation. Once in the financial office I was treated like I was not going to pay my bill- which I never would do. I was asked multiple times about a mouth guard (by financial office, hygienist, tech, doctor )which I responded that I already have one. The hygienist that did the x-rays and cleaning seemed to be on a tight time schedule- barely touching my teeth and recommending a sticky tooth building treatment (at extra cost) that I have later been informed is not helpful for older teeth. In fact, everyone seemed to be in a big hurry to get done. One appointment I was asked to change dental rooms (I wasn't even done) so someone else could have my seat. I said at the beginning of my treatment that I would need "gas" for extensive painful procedures and had to argue for it on my second visit with the financial lady in the examining room wanting my credit card before I got it. After the old crown was removed I was told that the tooth looked fine and was fitted for a new crown. When the crown was put in it felt too big and uncomfortable but the staff said it was fine and I would be used to it. After a few days of horrible pain I went back to have it looked at and a tech. Trimmed it down. My tooth remained sensitive and within a few days became painful again. Due to my job, I was unable to have it seen immediately and decided not to return to Great Expressions so had it trimmed down some more by another dental practice. The pain went away but it remained very sensitive until the Spring of 2015 when I was informed that I would need a complicated root canal on this tooth and that hopefully I would not lose it.(Which I did not). I realized how important it is for me to be treated by a doctor and staff that knows me and acts like they care about not only my teeth but my personhood. Right now I travel 2 hours to my old family dentist until I can find the right practice in my area.

Great Expressions Dental Centers false representation

This office is really a rip off. After two consultation with the dentist and periodontist, a plan of action was agreed upon. I was to have a crown replaced .I had refused implant or bridge. I had to make a deposit of $200. to hold the appointment date. However on the day of the procedure, while in the chair under local anesthesia, they referred back to what they thought would be a better plan. The dentist thinks the tooth was definitely no worth saving. I again told him to just remove the tooth and forget about it. He suggested a bone graft. That, he said would enable me if in the future I wanted to do the Implant. I asked for an estimate and was presented with a figure that was tolerable. $221.40 to So I agreed. I had already paid $200. Two weeks later I was made aware that I owed a balance because the procedure that I didn't want in the first place wasn't covered by my insurance! The whole Procedure cost $476 plus $34.40 for the tooth removal.

My Insurance Co recommends that I don't pay, because although it was my responsibility to make sure that the procedure was covered, I had entrusted the dental representative to make a genuine enquiry into the cost, due to the fact I was still in their chair numbed up. If their request for estimate was true, they would have known right then and there that the procedure was not covered.

An estimate is a variation in cost, not the difference between a non-covered item and a guestimate! I am tired of being ripped off by dentists. I have paid $321.20 ($200 deposit, $53 for 1st visit and $68.20 for 2nd consultation) to have a tooth surgically removed when the actual cost is $34.40 (with Ins). Now I will be sent to collection agency for $310!

Great Expressions Dental Centers unnecessary procedures, fraudulent billing

This office has changed hands and the new hygenists and office people are focused only on making as much money as they can from each patient. My son went in for a normal cleaning and they insisted on a full debridement which is used only prior to a periodontal exam, and not covered by insurance because it was done improperly. They recommended a complete deep cleaning for me and refused to do my regular cleaning. The hygenist was arrogant and talked down to me and refused to answer my questions. The estimated cost for that treatment was over $400 including antibiotics, $30 in extra charges for irrigation, etc. I went to a different dentist for a second opinion and learned that only two teeth needed the deep cleaning and the irrigation is a simple mouth wash that costs about $8 per bottle, and other dentists DO NOT CHARGE FOR IT because it is considered part of the procedure. Antibiotics were not indicated in ANY WAY. My son told he needed two fillings for cavities that were very surface and did not even require local anesthetic, but their treatment plan included "root protection" which they said was an "upgrade" and not covered. Then when I pointed out root protection could not possibly be needed for these surface fillings, they said composite fillings were not covered when they clearly have been on our plan for years and have been done at that very office, they volunteered to remove those charges. When he went in for the two fillings they said "oh- we found two more cavities!" We have since switched dentists. This place should be scrutinized very carefully. It is probably billing for stuff that is not being done, and it's over treating patients. In addition, if you call with questions they do not know what they are talking about - I called with questions and the office staff told me I had a lot of gum recession and when I asked more specifically about the measurements, the woman said "Oh- I am not looking at your chart, I don't have it out." She was just shooting from the hip. Unbelievable!

I totally agree with you because the same thing happened to me. The dentist refused me a regular cleaning as well. This was only a way to make money so the dentist suggested a deep cleaning, which I didn't need.

Great Expressions Dental Centers over charging and will not refund customer credit

Have been working with billing in local office but 'corporate' office will not make adjustment. Corporate made some sort of "finance department adjustment." It looks like they are billing for above and beyond what their agreement is with Delta Dental Insurance Co. The girl in the local office says I have a $35 credit. Corporate wants $108 more.
This has gone on for almost a year and I am disgusted with them and not returning as a client.

Great Expressions Dental Centers fees

Great Expressions in Ann Arbor overcharged me for a crown. Before any work was done, I was given an estimate of what the services would cost. At the time, I thought the estimate was high, but I didn't question it. I had to pay the full amount in advance before they would make the crown...which is understandable. I paid what they asked for in advance of the work. The work was done to my satisfaction (the Dentist there is very good), but a few weeks afterwards, I was sent a bill for an additional $260! They kept calling me for the money which I don't owe them. When I tried to work it out with them, (there must be a mistake) they just kept telling me I had only signed an estimate for services...and it ended up costing more. This is B.S. and this is how they rip you off. I have dental insurance, and they were paid from my insurance, and from my own pocket...but because they had me sign an "Estimate" they think they can now charge me anything they want after services have been rendered. Not gonna happen. Stay away from these people. Its too bad, because the Dentist is actually very good. I wish their Franchise business practices were more ethical.

Great Expressions Dental Centers liars

This company is an assembly line dentist.My cleaning took 15 minutes.They push things onto you that you dont need.They bought out my old dentist Dr Joseph who was my dentist for over 40 years. Most of the employees have left because they are being forced to lie to patients and telling them they need this or that and the prices are through the roof. My cleaning was the worst I ever had and for 125 dollars I was so pissed off I vowed never to return and thats why I am here to warn people about this company. My wife had her teeth cleaned here and after the cleaning a dentist came in and was ready to start drilling a cavity without even asking her first.Please stay away from these crooks. Mike R

Great Expressions Dental Centers unfair billing

RUN RUN RUN! I wish I had read these reviews before I walked thru the door. I have never felt more ripped off in my life. I have become increasingly frustrated with the Great Expressions Dental Center, Fayetteville, GA office. Prior to scheduling an appointment for my son, I called and made the receptionist aware we had found Great Expressions Dental Center on the Met Life site. (The in network dental offices agree to insurance company rate.) The receptionist confirmed the office was in network for Met Life and I made the appointment. The location was and still is in network for Met Life so this foolishness should not be happening.

The office billed the insurance and the insurance paid indicating I had to only pay $40.60. I had paid $261.00 the day of service and believed at the time that it was ridiculously high considering I had just had my father’s teeth extracted and he had no insurance and it was far, far less. Repeated calls to the office to get a refund then a visit to the office resulted in conflicting statements from the employees. The icing on the cake was a call from Great Expressions Dental Center by the rudest person who tried to bully me. Then she said that I owed $147.00 more. I am even being charged for x-rays but I brought the x-rays in with me.

This has been going on for three months. Every invoice I have gotten from Great Expressions is different. It appears no matter if you have insurance or not they charge the cash price. Find another dentist unless you want to be stolen from.

I needed my x-ray for one day. They wanted to charge $25.00 and needed 2 to 3 days. Went back to old dentist who had no fee and actually no notice needed. I hope they choke on the X-ray I already paid for and we won't be back. Their denture prices were almost 3 times more than the new place we found.

Oh. So you are actually opening your mail, have some recall of what you previously paid, and set out to use insurance finding that (you thought and were told) it was covered. You are one in a million. You, my dear, are not playing the game.

Do you know what a "banana republic" is? Got news for ya. It isn't necessarily just a rogue government. Way more than that. It's also a place where businesses of any kind can (essentially) extort money from you, or at least attempt to, for no legitimate reason - AND GET AWAY WITH IT!

Insurance companies do this a zillion times a day. Any business dealing with an insurance company just goes along. I've now had at least 4 incidences, that I can recall, similar to what you describe, happen to me in just the past couple years. Lying through your teeth is the new business model. Insurance companies are the worst, and any business you deal with through insurance (pharmacies are classic) just play along and you can knock yourself out trying to contest - but guess what: chances are you'll get nowhere.

As a rule of thumb, I no longer allow anyone to extract so much as a penny from me until I can confirm that the amount I owe IS the amount I owe (ahead of time) and absolutely refuse to pay any attention to any additional charge, telling them simply - "you made a mistake? That's your problem, not mine. Have a nice day."

I feel sorry for people that actually spend 40+ hours a week working and in addition have other things to do. Those poor suckers don't even have the time to do half of what you did to check and see who's fooling around with their pocketbook. These days the mantra is, "just flood 'em with paperwork and chances are they'll cough up the money."

Don't pay another dime. They often back down if they realize you're not totally out to lunch.

Great Expressions Dental Centers Given diagnosis that was ridiculous

BEWARE- THEY FIND THINGS WRONG THAT AREN'T REAL!Have gone to them for over two years. Recently, Dentist at Palm Beach Gardens office told me that I have early stages of periodontal disease and would require more expensive cleaning. I went to a periodontist and he confirmed that I do not and have healthy teeth. This is not the first tiem this dentist misdiagnosed something for a more expensive solution. BEWARE! Also Stuart Endodontist messed up my husband's Root Canal and had to have it fixed twice, before they did it correctly. Found out they also did the same thing to someone I know.

I was charged well over the insurance rate. Insurance said I owed 40.60. They charged me 261.00 then sent me an invoice for 147.00. This is a group of thieves. RUN.
