I was contacted by a Sales rep in early June about getting a vacation package. He said you would pay $149 right now to secure your 75, 000 points, that could later be redeemed for a 5 night cruise or a 7 day resort stay. We would pay off the remaining balance over time. After that balance was paid was when we could take the vacation. Sounded like a good way to budget our vacation that we had been wanting to take. July comes around and my card was charged for $138, so I called the number on my bank statement. It was government vacation rewards stating they were taking out my automatic monthly payment. This infuriated me! During the entire 45 min conversation with the sales rep he NEVER explained that my credit card information would be kept on file and AUTOMATICALLY charged every month. I told them I can not afford this and I do not want the membership and to please reimburse me. I was told there was no way to cancel my membership, basically i was SOL. Do not deal with this company, they say they are contracted by the government but there is no way if the government knew what they were doing to Wounded Warrior families across the country that this would continue!

I was in the Air Force, stationed at Nellis, and I also very clearly was told you make a down payment, than pay $200 for 18 months.

I agree with CW4 that this travel service is likely doing damage control sounds trying to discredit a valid complaint. Not only does the story go into enough detail of the sort many of us are familiar with in shady businesses but the first objection even looks like a salesman wrote it: I mean who claims to pay for many months of vacation "points" then tells people their vacation was free? It sound to me like they used that line so much it came force of habit.
I get random calls from them-pretty rude since often nobody is even there when I pick up. They pretty aggressively got my number a few months ago when I just called them out of curiosity. I had them promise not to make sales calls but obviously they ignored me.

It sounds like account reps are trying to counter the complaints pretending they have paid for the upgrade and are happy for the service. I was contacted just today to do this upgrade, the website has no information on the cost of "upgrades" which raised red flags.

How the 2 stories above are worded it sounds as if they work for this company. This service is similar to the high pressure Direct Buy scam. Tscott12001 I am calling you out. When were you in the service? And where were you stationed? What is your real name ? I want to talk to you and verify your military affiliation.

As for anyone who wants to dismiss this observation, please bring it on.

I have the balls to list me real name, how about you ?

I agree this is an excellent program and if you can't afford it you should not buy it, but do not get buyers remorse and then make up stories.

I am sorry lady but My family have the same membership, we have traveled all over the world with this program using our Military star card and have never had a problem When I did my down payment on 2, 999 package I paid $649 dollars down and the account mgr was very clear in explaining my monthly payments and they also processed me via their validations dept where they set us up with our 'My Payment Manager Account' where we are able to change our method of payment every month. It appears to me that you actually thought you were going to get access to their program that gives you the opportunity to do Mediterranean cruises for as low as $14 to $25 per day per person and 7 day resort stays for as low as $49 for an entire week for a period of 10 years for only $149 that's unrealistic. Mam a cruise on average for a couple is about $1700 to $2000. I do not believe for one minute that the agent did not explain their payment plan to you I have referred 4 other Military families who have not had a problem in 3 years of having their membership. It sounds to me like you wanted something for nothing. That is shameful it is a good program and they are the only travel company that accept our Military star card for travel. Shame on you lady.

I also had a bad experience with GovVacationReward, they charged twice the flights I bought there and a couple of days later I started seeing large amounts charged to my credit card from unauthorized users. My bank said someone got my credit card info from GovVacationReward so I had to cancel my credit card and deal with the dispute. Horrible experience and terrible costumer service, I will never use this place again and I will not recommend it.

Really? You cant be serious. Like any company would say "pay us whenm you can..." You agreed to purchase a package and gave them a credit card for it. I also have a membership with Governement Vacation Rewards, and i paid for thwe upgrade like you. It was made very clear in a recorded confirmation that I was paying $149 down and and 10 payments of 138 including a processing fee. After my total was paid, I took 35k of the 75k points they gave me and booked a free cruise for my Wife and I.
The progrma has always worked great for me, and I hope you the best of luck. This is a great company, and the one time I had a question about an invoice I received, I called my accoutn rep and it was answered immedietly.
