I have been buying from Government Liquidation for over a year now, and have spent well over $10, 000. Most transactions have not been problematic. However, almost every transaction that had to go through the EUC dept. in Scottsdale, AZ has resulted in one problem after another.

I have to send faxes repeatedly, most up to three times, and even when I eventually get through to a customer 'service' representative, and tell them that I have a confirmation that the faxes went through, I'm told that it doesn't matter. I still have to send the faxes again. When they do admit that they get the faxes, they usually find something they say I need to do over, or resend because it didn't come in clearly, but they don't send this information until the filing deadline is almost over.

Because they recently waited until the last minute, I didn't have time to respond before they suspended my account and charged me a fine of 25% of the purchase price of my last purchase, and they are still jerking me around saying that I need to resend certain pages of the faxes. These problems happen EVERY time I have to deal with the EUC Dept. of this company. They never have a problem taking my money from my account, but once they have my money, the customer doesn't seem to matter any more. All the while I'm going through this mess, they're sending me emails saying that if I don't remove my items by a certain date, they will be returned to stock.

Getting someone one the phone is nearly impossible. The aggravation is unending. I am a 71 year old disabled veteran, and the aggravation is very difficult to endure. Am I the only one that is having these problems with this department? If not, please join me in trying to get the customer back into the customer service department of this company.

I have been dealing with govliq for years, and have run into all the problems mentioned in the complaints. Recently I noticed govliq is posting material on ILS for sale. This bypasses selling the parts to the General public. The practice should be against the law, they are exclusive to purchasing the parts from the government. It gives them an unfair advantage in pricing parts out on ILS, as they pay far less than any other person listing the same part. Was this the intension of DRMO to eventually cutting all small companies out of the surplus market to make a monopoly for Governliquidation.
I have tried to talk to battle creek but am left with leaving unanswered messages. If anyone has had any luck contact the powers at battle creek or knows another person to reach regarding this issue please leave a post

I recently had a chance to inspect ammo cans going up for sale at Aberdeen Proving Ground 16 and 21 Oct. The gov liq rep stated that they were bad. He was sure telling the truth! these cans havesome government turn-in stickers showing they have been sitting outside for over a year, rusted beyond beleief. Unfortunately the photos don't reveal how bad they are. Being statcked oopen with wooden pallets don't help, Rain becomes very acidic coming off of oak pallets especially. Buyer beware

Glad I found these complaints.. saves me a ton of money doing business with them. I will be sure to be on my toes with these guys..

I have found ALL auction companies play games one way or another.. and they all get mad when you beat them at their own game.

I recently ran a lot up to 10k.. had a feeling games where being played.. I dumped it on them. next day we received emails stating I can't have a account and the wife can't have her own.. One account per household.. Yea, right.. easier for them the manage you.

Last fall I purchased a lot that listed NSN INFORMATION [protected] which indicates that the “end item” was a 5 ton truck. The NSN description “C744AA 5 TON TRUCK SERIES” is for the M939 series of 5 ton trucks. This indicates that I was bidding on 2 covers for a 5 ton series truck (M939 series). One of the items turned out to be a flat 12x12 tarp. The other item is a cover for an M105 trailer and nowhere near large enough to cover the 14” cargo body of a 5 ton truck. Neither item was for the 5 ton truck series (M939). I emailed them and they asked that I fill out their form, thoroughly explain myself, send pictures and propose a resolution. They responded by sending me a copy of the invoice I signed when I picked up the lot. They said that since the lot had been out of their control, there was no way for them to validate that what I was claiming was actually true. I responded by telling them that everyone has to sign for the lot before picking up a lot so why did they put me through the "fill out this form" game if they were just going to trump my claim with a "well... you signed for it" response. I'm a 50 year old, retired VP of business operations for a very successful medical equipment company. We conducted business a little differently. Since this was my second issue with this GL, I closed my account and haven't looked at the website since. BUYER BEWARE!

Customer Satisfaction is not a priority in fact it is not even required. Their rules of "abandonment" & timely payment are against proper business ethics. I agree that the merchandise should be paid on time, but if their is an issue, they need to resolve the issue first and not insist on the payment. If you decide to wait until the problem is resolved, they will suspend your account and charge you a hefty fee.
If that happens, you will not be able to access your account to make pick up arrangements of the last items you won. Which of course will delay the process and your items will be considered abandoned. They need to restructure the entire process so that the customers don't loose their funds just because they decided to do business with them. Otherwise it won't be long before either they are closed down or the entire management is changed.
Better yet, a class action law suit.

government liquidation has the worst customer service.they do auctions and no matter how much you spend they don't care since there are always bidders to bid on their stuff.they have screwed surplus dealers from the beginning when they put a 10% premium charge on your invoices.this 10% has cost me mucho dinero.they also sell to anyone who puts down a valid credit card...dealing with other buyers is the only way to stop these clowns from ripping us all off!

The only way to have Government Liquidation Closed Permanently is to file complaints with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Federal Trade Commission. File your complaints there and THEY WILL BE CLOSED DOWN. Also call your Senators and Congressman's office as well as file a complaint with your states Attorney Generals Office for Deceptive business practices including Theft by deception.

I totally agree...I supposedly "won" an auction of Friday...come Monday I was told that the property was listed in error and would not be awarded. That was after it had been on the website for over 2 weeks. WTH? Will try some of the other websites listed. What a waste of my time!

I have spent close to $200, 000 purchasing items from GL, and can say I have rarely encountered a business so intent on alienating its customers. With a few exceptions, customer service is terrible, enforcement of rules is random and punitive, cooperation is rare and the general perspective of employees is that they can't be bothered, and if you don't like it, don't bid; screw you email to follow.

While this would be fine if they were only selling privately owned items, the fact that they are selling government surplus items requires they do their best to get the highest prices for the government (e.g. the taxpayer.)

By discouraging so many buyers, bid prices will be lower, and net revenue to the government will be lower, with the taxpayer making up the difference.

I, for one, have largely stopped purchasing items at the auctions due to the massive hassle of dealing with GL.

All comments are amusing, that is, they all blame GL and not themselves.
You are beaten by competition from those that have more knowledge, experience, and drive, not by the clock, extended hammer or purported shill bidding.
Understanding and ensuring compliance with all Federal Law and Regulations (e.g. EUC) is your job, not GL's, Hire someone who can fill out the form without error, your Liberty may depend on it.
Thanks for your wine, cheers.

Unlike online auctions like Ebay, GovLiquidation.com starts the auction when it's supposed to close. I recently was the high bidder on event #12675 lot # 8850 at the close of the auction which is typically 5 pm eastern time. When I refreshed my screen 1 minute later it stated that the auction would end in 9 minutes, 9 minutes later it stated the auction would end in 15 minutes, 15 minutes later it stated the auction would close in 10 minutes. WTF! I used to make a nice living buying at auctions. Once the gavel comes down the auction is over. I complained and got a reply explaining the 15 minute rule. These folks are nuts! The problem with GovLiquidation.com is they never drop the gavel. It appears that in real live the auction at GovLiquidation.com STARTS when the auction closes and ends when they feel OK. In my opinion this is a sleazy auction site designed to fleece everyone. I'll never go back.
GovLiquidation is just another example of commercial ripoffs.

I won a lot for approx $1300 with approx 330 items. WHen it arrived there were only 100 items. I called and emailed to complain and get a refund for the missing items. They stalled for weeks then said the fine print said that when I authorized the UPS store to pick up and ship the items I lost all rights to a refund. WHat a crock! They are an internet auction company and they full well know that each buyer can not travel hundreds or thousands of miles to pre inspect and/or inventory the items upon purchase. That would be uneconomical. Yet they use that to defraud loyal customers. Even the lots that I was generally happy with were always a few short of the number listed in the product description. It makes a difference! In the end I lost over $1000 on that one lot. I strongly advise against using Government Liquidation. They are not trustworthy or honest in the least.

I recently bid won and paid for a 202 Ford Windstar Van.
I wasn't able to go physically to look at it and had to depend on their description in my choice to bid and buy it.
When I arrived to pickup the Van the person went looking for the paperwork came back with it. I asked her where are the vans keys? I was told there are no keys..
I responded you never mentioned no keys in the auction. Then they went on how if it is not mentioned it is not included? WTH...
I mentioned in almost all of their other auctions this important Fact is mentioned.. I also informed them the expensive cost to re-key a vehicle ignition, doors and reprogram the anti theft system at a car dealer. They just blinked at me. I didn't pickup the van. I also told them since they are considered under the LAW as an AUTO DEALER ALL LAWS REGULATIONS OR THAT APPLY TO THEM. The "no Keys" is a significant "hidden" defect they are mandated by law to include in their auction description. Again she just blinked at me..
I went live chat with some one named Kristen.. She can not be consistent in her response and actually lied more than once. I have that proof in saved "chats"..
I filed a "claim" and now waiting. First she told me it will take 15 days. I waited a week and recontact via chat and got "Kristen" again. Now I am told 15 business days. I told her that works out to three weeks.
Another kick in the butt is THEIR FEE $60.00 for s SF97 is BS..
So now I am waiting for the three weeks to see what their claims Dept. decides..
They are clearly playing games and I won't play them with them. IF I don't get back ALL of my money I will take all documents to my back and initiate a charge back on my credit card. As well as filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office with Consumer Protection Department..
I also almost forgot to mention this van had been "sold" in a previous auction and was put back up for auction again. I am trying to find out why?

I had good luck with them before but that all changed yesterday
Bidding on beds only for some cargo trailers. they kept jacking up the bids. as the auction closed on the first one, it said i was outbid. so i went to my next watchlist item and the same thing happened, said I was outbid. Third item did the same thing and I was so pissed I called their office. She said it was a glitch and that I had bought ALL 3 lots. I explained I didnt want all 3 and it was their glitch. I went to my account and immediately deleted my creit cards on file. I have been arguing all morning with them. I am not paying for 3 lots that it said i had been outbid on! Their customer service is HORRIBLE

Sorry Karl B. I have to disagree with you. I have had so many problems with GL (government liquidators). The last time I called the young lady hung up on me. Granted I was aggravated and raised my voice in a authoritative manner. But it had to be done, considering they were giving me the run around. Now they're accusing me of having multiple accounts and want to charge me over $12, 000.00. These people are crooks they put their workers on the computers the last hour of bid closing and bid against you to raise the price higher. I have written Vin numbers down on military trucks that were up for auction; I was out bid on them. Several months later the same trucks are up for auction in a different state. The sad thing about it is that they are the only ones who carry real military surplus items. GL KNOWS THIS SO THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT AT THE COST OF THE CONSUMER. Here is the lesson to be learned: If you are going to deal with GL be sure to have a case of KY on hand, because you will get screwed.

Thanks for all the reviews. I will not bid there. Try govdeals.com. I have bought file cabinets, desks, chairs, av carts, used tires, etc. from there and have been satisfied every time. They do not deliver, so you need to look for an area close to you. Not so sure about cars, though, so be careful. Probably need to check them out ahead of time. The police cars are usually okay, but not the seized vehicles. Items are up for sale by local governments, like a school of city offices. You can get some really good deals on some things.

I have been using government liquidation for 2 years now. All of my transactions have been great. This last loy I won. There were a total of 26 items missing as I had no time to go through 7 pallets of small and other size parts. I contacted Scottsdale. They sent ne a form I filled it out as the person who was very pleasant in instructing me how to do so. I now have 15 working days to await there decision. Maybe it is the location you are buying from. I have not made any money as the stuff I buy are of not much use in civilian life. Dumb I know. Who could not use 4 3000 gallon water containers and 4 new arm whirlpools. LOL

On high dollar items, bidders pay too much because the supposed "auction" is monitored by GL, and if the lots do not go high enough, they put in false bids to bring the price up just enough that the highest bid gets it ( even if its far from all thelegitimate bids.)

M
M
mikey

govliq monitors the bids, if you bid high on an item the bid will reach up to your bid in the last few minutes, as they run the bids up to what the highest bidder is willing to pay,

back track the bidder numbers, and you will find in many instances the bidder number shown just under your bid does not exist. run your bidder number on google and will see past sales you bid on. they game the system and get away with it because they pay off the gov. workers that are supposed to oversee their system.

This past summer I tried to get a crane through GL (Barstow). It was a bad joke for me. I threw in a couple of bids at around $7000 and then waited until the last few minutes. I bid several more times and my last bid was $19500. It was my last bid because they cut me off right before the end. They actually blocked me from bidding. I was really pissed because I had been cleared to bid by
GL's office personnel. I fired off an email accusing GL of being either extremely stupid or crooked. They never responded. I really wanted the crane (ALVA) and was prepared to bid considerably more. I got screwed and so did the government.

I have been buying from Government Liquidation for the past year and every time I buy units that are supposed to be in excellent conditions I receive them broken and missing items. I have called and filled out forms to try to get the items that are missing and they refused my claim. If an item isn't included in the lot then it shouldn't be in the picture of the lot to begin with.

In seven years of dealing with the azzclowns at GL, I have only talked to one person with a brain...her name is Arana Wolin & she did work in the EUC department. The EUC department is a farce of the highest order, absolutely no consistent policy other than placing everything with camo/CARC paint or a diesel engine in EUC status. My condolences to everyone who has had the misfortune of dealing with these idiots & their one way BS...

I totally agree with all these comments that were posted. Having worked for Government Liquidation, I've seen the types of people they are and what kind of business that it is. They are all about money wise and don't care about the hard workers that they have, or worried about customer service. And yes it is nearly impossible to get a hold of any one in corporate offices, also if you are an employee and you need a manager, they still won't give you the number to reach him or her. The way Government Liquidation works is a joke! People that they higher to do critical verifying, or handling special items are off the street or convicted felons. People had ankle bracelets working for GL at one point. They don't do anything right for the them, customers, and for the Government. I just seen a lot that has been going on within the past 2 years and it changed to greediness. All of their items for sale is junk, that should have been scrapped out or destroyed beyond further use, but GL is always there to make some sort of profit. I know the Government is really displeased with the company. I only hope that this company can change their ways in supporting customers, and especially their workers and not be worried about a pretty penny.

I was in the middle of an auction today with 1/2 hour left and I was winning. All of a sudden, my account was suspended and I had no contact with the auction. It turned out someone had bid barely over my bid and won and I received an email to the fact. The problem...my account was suspended but evidently not my bid and someone had to outbid an invalid bid to win. I would love to find this person and tell them, they were bidding against the wall. So if anyone knows who won
Event ID: 5374
Lot Number: 5564
They bid way to high. My bid couldn't have mattered because my account was suspended 29 minutes before auction close and before the winner made the winning bid.
What a rip off organization. Anyone making a complaint, I would like to join...

I just won a truck a few days ago. I wired the money exactly as they said but it was returned to the bank with the following reason " Please Provide Account Name". It just went to their bank with the routing number and everything. So while I was for my invoice the next thing I see is account suspended because I didn't pay on time and they want a $115.00 to give me my account back, plus I lost the sale of the truck.

I'm not done till they are out of business and something is done. I'm contacting all govt. agencies and the military about this. I want all of us to do the same. Lets get these bastarts that are taking away from us.

Yes, I was also screwed by these guys. Their "EUC" department is a scam and is designed to slow down the whole process so that they can collect your money and not deliver the product until they feel like it. I have also bought TENS OF thousands worth of items and vehicles from them and had NOTHING but horrible with their staff lying, pretending they never received faxes for which I had confirmations, and doing many other deceitful practices. This company needs to be investigated. They are corrupt and there is certainly more going on here than what meets the eye.

What part of 1000 feet is a "generalization?" Or the description that a lot weighs "6400" pounds is speaking in general terms?
Generalizing would be assuming a person with the name "Ben Yankinself" masturbates before he posts on this board. Personally, I'd be hard pressed to even care what your day consists.

I purchased a reel of 1.2 inch low smoke electrical wire used on Navy ships. Advertised as A1 new. Wrapped in white plastic wrap, and a label stating there was 1000 feet stenciled on the wooden reel caused me to go forward. At home I unrolled and found that my reel was actually several different lengths that had been rewrapped. Gov paid $6350.00 for 1000 feet, I bought it for less than $600 and lost my shirt. Since I was never in a position to buy surplus before I just counted this a lesson learned. I will make it up on something else. My thoughts;if you want security in purchasing go to Macys and pay five times more. Then they can make amends.

While I was there a buyer was quite unhappy because he had purchased six "small" solid aluminum air conditioner skids and three "large" listed as a total weight of 6400 pounds, as painted on each item. He paid $2200. If he had added the listed weights he would have determined the weight should have been listed as 4400#. Still, a very good deal. I had called Kenco, the manufacturer, and they verified the weights correct. I inspected before I bid, and found the little ones weighed around 100 pounds each and the big weighed less than 300 each. Was anyone trying to cheat either of us? No. The weights listed included the air conditioners, which had been removed. Nobody could tell my wire was a bunch of peices rewound. Regardless of how careful you try to be, once in a while you will be wrong.

Government Liquidation? Stay away! Far away!

I noted a large Snap On tool box at the Air Force base in Warner Robins Georgia. Before bidding I wanted to inspect condition.

When I called the contact number to schedule an appointment, the voice on the other stridently told me "You can't come on base!". Contacted GL and was given a second number that turned out to be the cell number for someone. Scheduled an appointment.

Took a few hours to drive to what turned out to be a MASSIVE facility. Security screened, photographed, and finally issued a pass. Was sternly warned to not pass signs that prohibited civilian vehicles. Also was told the map I had printed out was obsolete because of road reconstruction! Drove all around looking for the building number where the box was located without success. Calling the contact number got a VERY unhelpful person not interested at all in my predicament. Stopping to ask only netted shrugged shoulders.

Managed to find my way back out the gate I came in and drove home. Vowed never again to jerked around by these people. You are warned as well to steer well clear!

Same Problems,
I have been duped out of one myself and have sent my last two over 6 times, luckly I have been in contact with them as soon as they tell me that it needs canged but if you dont email them on a daily basis or call or refax it you will never hear about it untill it is too late. I dont know how old this post is but if you have gotten anywhere or are still working on it I would love you hear what progress you have made. thanks
