GoodLife Fitness - staff, personal trainers

I've been a member since 2010 second time around, the staff at this facility are unfriendly and not knowledgeable. The staff at the front desk are unfriendly and rude. The personal trainers are unprofessional. The management staff, if they stay, (a revolving door of people, never know whom to talk with)are not professional. I have 13 unused PT sessions left, and wish to not use them with the PTrainers at this facility. I have paid for them and wish to just give them to another member who trains there, the assistant GM David, was rude and unhelpful. Said he would pass my complaint onto "acting' manager Bridget, and she would call me. She did not call. Who knew it was so hard to just give them away..Already paid even, This particular gym is terrible on customer service and rude and ignorant to its members. I have paid for a PT for last 5 years, I've really enjoyed the sessions and the trainer I had until I had to get another due to my original one leaving and I had to move from another location to this one. The poor experience I have encountered at this facility has lead me to leave Good life all together. I really o hope they get some stability in that location and people that truly care for its members and their jobs!...so, where do I go to get my paid 13 PT sessions transferred?

GoodLife Fitness - my personal trainer was let go. no follow up call from management

About a week ago I received a call from a trainer from Good- life (Tecumseh Mall, Windsor Ontario) saying my Persona' Trainer was sick and that she was taking the rest of the week off and for me to call her. I didn't call right away but she did phone me a few days after the call was made to me. She informed me she was let go. I was shocked. I have had this personal trainer for 7 years and I have had other trainers to take her place when she went on maternity leaves. I have nothing but praise for her. She is very professional and very helpful in different areas of my training. If I asked questions and she didn't know it she would search to find me answers. I have been with Good life for approximately 9 years and have had a trainer all those years.

She told me that i should be receiving a call from the general manager or personal regional manager I have not heard anything from these managers nor from the Good life fitness at Tecumseh Mall. I have paid personal trainer sessions and no one contacts me to ask me who or which Personal trainer will takeover.

Not very professional at all. I am very upset. You would think after 9 years being a member that would count as something. It's like they don't care about their members. My trainers other clients have had the same treatment.

I have looked online trying to find contact numbers for the general managers or personal regional manager with no luck but found here the Complaint Board. Someone needs to be accountable for this and this needs to be taken care of.

GoodLife Fitness - trainers not present and not willing to help nd plus personal training to expensive!

I am complaining about Goodlife Fitness in the Tecumseh Mall in Windsor, Ontario. I was told when I first signed with them as a member that there will be trainers present to help anybody with any exercise machine, and also give tips on how you can improve your health. I personally have never gotten any help from these people at all because there always talking with each other in the gym and don't care about helping people at all. Goodlife charges too much for there personal training for half hour sessions. They told me that I get 12 sessions for a price about over $900 dollars, but for half hour sessions. For the full hour sessions it's over a $1200 dollars and that's not fair because a lot of people in Windsor need help with there health and want to get healthy but Goodlife charges people too much for there training. I want to build a good muscle mass for my body and the personal trainers have no experience in that field at all. And plus when somebody wants to be a member the counselors are extremely pushy, and suck you in by empty promises.

@heather28

"If you are serious about training you can finance your training. If you can't "afford it" than you arent making it a priority"
WOW, sounds like the personal trainer has spoken.
Normally if someone can't afford to pay for a service, it has nothing to do with making it a priority, that is the most ignorant statement I've read to date. How about real life priorities such as paying a mortgage, insurance, utilities, putting food on the table for your family?
How about not over paying for a personal trainer who has only taken a short 3 day course to obtain their certification?

Here is my advice, can't afford a personal trainer, take the course yourself, learn then find a workout buddy for motivation.

You were clearly told the wrong price regarding personal training. Sessions range from $52-$82/hr based on the level of trainer. In regards to trainers being around to help trainers are always present at the gyms although the majority of the time are busy with their clients or preparing for clients. The trainers are only paid for the time they spend specifically with their clients and not for the time they are in the gym without a client. You may have been provided with the wrong information. If you are serious about training you can finance your training. If you can't "afford it" than you arent making it a priority. If you have questions make an appointment with a trainer, schedule a personal health profile or pay for training.

Try signing up for appointments with Member Ambassadors. They're free! Yes, unfortunately training is expensive. Did you know GoodLife has financing options? And different programs for lesser prices sometimes. So try sitting down and telling them price is an issue?

Tracey- I'm sorry that happened! That's not cool. I wouldn't be signing. Talk to the fitness manager there! I'm certain you can switch trainers.
