Golfsmith Bad service and late-delivery experience

By online order, I ordered several items and received the confirmation with estimate delivery time by Sep. 19th. Before the estimate delivery time, except two wedges, has been delivered and waited the wedges until Sep. 23rd.

Upon calling on customer service, the item is heavy and sent separately, so the wedge must be waited 2~3 weeks more.

Golfsmith Ordered golf iron set hasn't been delivered.

Purchased Callaway XR OS iron set on 08-19-2016 from Golfsmith via their on-line web site, they don't have a retail outlet in NM. Have yet to receive the item. Costumer service does not appear to existent, phone doesn't answer with a recording to call during business hours which I had done several times. Only automated email with no info noting receipt of my on-line feedback form.

Completion of separate customer feedback dealing with the particular purchase which noted all my problems did finally get feedback from them, apologizing and saying they would look into it. They have charged my CC after about a week when shipping from Callaway was suppose to have happened. They appear to have no way to track the order.

I have challenged the CC charge through my CC company but past experience says it will take a month or more to clear the issue. It is approximately a month since the order and no irons. I do not want to purchase the set elsewhere till this is cleared up.

I've bought from their store front operations and they seem as good as any such retail store but do not buy on-line through them.

Golfsmith Golf Shoe Returns

I bought a pair of golf shoes. The shoes are too small. When I ask for a eternal authorization they refused to issue one stating that the shoes are the correct size and color that I ordered. I tried to explain that the shoes are at least 2 sizes smaller than what the manufacturing claims. I ordered a size 13, the shoes were actually a size 11 or 12, definitely not a size 13. Do not buy Golf Shoes from Golfsmith, they won't pay for return postage if you have to exchange them

Golfsmith I will never do business with this company again

Orders I make with Golfsmith.com are held up for 2 or 3 weeks or longer when it should only take 3 day’s.

I am a club maker of custom fitted golf clubs and repairs. I have been ordering golf club supplies from Golfsmith in Austin TX for 2 years now and have made about 25 orders in the 2 years.

After I complete my phone order to a Golfsmith associate just as I did this passed August 8, 2011 and every time there after I am told everything I ordered is in stock and ready to ship out when my check is received and cleared.

On August 8, 2011 I mail a postal money order in the amount of, $56.87 that cleared when Golfsmith received it on 8/11/2011. Now it is the 18th, and three phone calls later they’re still telling me the order is being processed now or that “My Timing is perfect and that my order is being processed at that time.

When I go online to there website to try and track my order by FedEx it say’s, “Order Being Processed.” Every time I have place an order with Golfsmith they lie to me. My last phone call to Golfsmith was on, August 16, 2011 and an associate or supervisor told me that they will send out my order that day and I should receive it on August 18, 2 day service. Well it never came.

It is now August 18, 2011 and my order is still not here. This is by far unethical business manor and needless to say I will never do business with this company again. I will also tell other golfers about my ordeal.

Golfsmith Desciptive Promotion shipping error

Two weeks ago I wanted to take advantage of a promotional offer that was sent via email. Upon ordering the products off their online catalog, I was told the promotion only applied to standard, off the shelf clubs. I chose to order my clubs "Custom" to fit my needs and was told I could not utilize the promotion. Soon after our phone order, I contacted Golfsmith to add another item to my order and was told they couldn't do anything because they could not find my order. They should have just made a new order for the add item and I would've been fine with that - lost sale. After much thought, I decided to cancel the order which took awhile, but eventually was able to cancel the order. When I checked the charges made to my card, I found additional charges of $500.00 as the order was written up wrong, but no one notified my of the error. Finally got the charges corrected, BUT now was charged $811.00 and shipped a standard/off the shelf set of irons which I never agreed to purchase. In addition, they did not honor the promotion which I wanted to utilize in the first place. I rejected the order and it was sent back to Golfsmith. My account still has not been credited even thought I did not authorize the order sent, and they will only credit when they receive the package back. Poor Attitude, Business practice and not very good customer service response at all. I will never purchase from them again.

Ordered via the internet Golf equipment to the value of US 650.
Transferred the money via Wire Transfer from Europe to the US, coz South African Credit Cards ARE NOT ACCEPTED!
Never received payment confirmation, although my bank account has been debited immediately.
After many emails Customer Service finally told me "order has been cancelled".
No contact details, no name. The International Phone line just rings...

PLEASE, think twice before you place an International Order, as this company is not interested in serving you.

I placed an order for numerous items on the 5th Oct. The majority were ex stock but some items indicated delivery 17 Oct. I am an international customer. To date, 2 weeks after thee indicated delivery date, I still do not have the balance of the order. I have sent numerous E-Mails requesting information but get no reply. They have this ridiculous automated reply system but nothing else. And this is not the first time that this has happened - the story is longer but I do not want to bore. I will NEVER buy from Golfsmith again and I warn all international customers to do thee same.

Golfsmith Advertised price on e-mail flyer not honoured

No actual sale has occurred so far because GolfSmith does not want to honor an advertisement that they sent to its mailing list members.
E-mail advertisement was received on June 21 at 3:37AM. The ad was saying : SAVE ON IRON SETS - YOUR CHOICE
One of the item was TourEdge Exotics XCG on sale at 299.99, discounted 300.00 from a regular price of 599.99. The other item was ADAMS GOLF Idea Tech A4 OS (Item Style Number TL1240) on sale at 299.99, discounted 500.00 from a regular price of 799.99.

Calls were made to GolfSmith on June 21st at approx. 21:50 as an attempt to do the purchase over the web did not show the ad. price of 299.99. On the web site, the Idea Tech A4 OS price was written as "Prices too low to advertise. So I clicked on the item and then the price message was "Price will be displayed in Shopping Cart" So I selected the item and went through the whole purchasing process hoping to see the 299.99 price, which never appeared. I was only getting a price of 399.99 I stopped the purchasing sequence before entering the payment method and decided to call the toll free number to talk to someone as I though that the web site was not working correctly.

The clerk checked and checked and he could not understand how I could have received an ad with the 299.99 price as the GolfSmith ordering system was not showing that low price, he was only seeing a price of 399.99. He told me to call during daytime hours as he could not find the price that I was asking and that daytime employees would be better to answer my needs. On June 22nd at approx. 10h45, I called GolfSmith and spoke to a clerk called Jessica Roseberry who told me that the ad that she could see on her computer was showing the Model A3 instead of A4. I sent her a screen capture image of the e-mail that I had received the day before at my home e-mail address. Once she saw exactly what I saw, she told me that she had to check with marketing people from her company to see if my geographical region had an additional discounted price on the A4 as the price she had on her computer did nnot match the one that I had in the ad and the fact that my ad was on the A4 model while her ad was on the A3. She called me again a few hours later mentioning that GolfSmith could not match the ad price as this was a mistake on the ad. I told them that I had not received any "erratum" e-mail message mentioning that the first e-mail contained errors, also that the error was so big in the fact that not only was the description wrong, the sale price, the discounted dollars and the regular price were all related o the A4 model and not the A3 ; GolfSmith was bound by the big and very consistent mistake they made ; it was not a typo. mistake. She insisted that GolfSmith would not honor the ad sale price. She then sent me an e-mail with a customer service toll free number that I could call to complain or talk to a supervisor. On June 22nd at approx. 14h30, I called the toll free Golfsmith number and talk to a gentlemen. I went through the whole story again and he returned to me the same answer. During our conversation, he asked me to read their web site disclaimer which I did with him but for every paragraph that he was telling me to read, I confronted him that the meaning of the paragraph was not related at all to the present situation by rather to issues linked with damage done by viruses or programming that may affect someone's computer. The clerk could not contradict my words. He finally asked me to wait so that he could talk to a supervisor. When he came back on the line, the supervisor had told him to tell me that Golfsmith would not sell me the Iron Set ADAMS GOLF A4 OS at the discounted price of 299.99 instead of regular price of 799.99 showing a rebate of 500.00 as the mistaken ad said. Golfsmith would only honor the 299.99 price on the ADAMS GOLF A3 OS which were 599.99 regular price and discounted 300.00 to 299.99. That was their final say.

I bought online an Iron Set Taylor Made, and received confirmation of the sale. The item was never delivered and when I called them, they said there was a mistake on their part, and the price went up more than $300. The sale was cancelled by Golfsmith.

Retailers are not responsible for errors made by the printing company which you have to agree could be a possibility. I don't work for GolfSmith so there aren't any biased feelings in my response just experience. I worked in the auto industry and encountered this issue a few times unfortuantely never having a feeling of success for the customer because it just isn't feasible financially. It doesn't make sense to lose money to sell something because that doesn't allow a company profit for future operations. It wouldn't fun if you had an issue with your clubs and couldn't get them fixed by the company who went out of business due to a lack of profit from the result of honoring misprinted ads. Relax on this and continue trying to find yourself a good deal on the A4's. On a lighter note, I personally hit Adams A4's, driver through irons, and completely recommend these clubs to anyone who needs a forgiving club while also providing above average distance. They helped my game get down into the mid to high 80's from the high 90's just because I could control where the ball went consistently. Good luck!

Golfsmith Bad business experience

This company sold us a golf bag that was listed on it's site as available. An email confirmed the order but after waiting two weeks no shipping notice was received. Upon calling, we learned that the bag was unavailable, or might be in Florida. After waiting a few days, I emailed customer service. They replied that they had not located the item, however on the same day, my account was charged. So I have unavailable funds in my account until they refund.

Will not do business with Golfsmith again, nor do I suggest anyone else should.

Unfortunately I went into golfsmith with high expectations, I went to get my grips redone and the emoter helping me that day was really nice, we had to order another shaft for one of my clubs and he said it would be in the next day. He said he would email when it shipped and everything was finished. He said they would all be done by Friday. Needless to say I never got a email saying they shipped and never received a phone call. I called up there and they said they were still not ready and that was Saturday. Of course I'm going to be a little irritated that I didn't receive a phone call saying it may take a few extra days. When I did get to go pick them up there sales manager was beyond rude, i never complain about how people treat others but he was very rude young child who has no business being a manager. He should have probably learned professionalism before given the position. I will never go back to the Baybrook Mall location.

Ordered 4 boxes of personalized Titleist Pro V1x balls on the 6th Oct 2015, and wrote to them the next day to check the delivery date. Got a reply saying that my order was reviewed and cancelled. WTF!
I wrote the following email, and sent a couple of reminders, but no replies. The customer service is pathetic, and I'm not going back.
Hi,
A little strange to hear that the order is cancelled, and I hear about it one day later after it was confirmed, and after my email to you?
Have you stopped notifying customers on issues such as order cancellations?
I have placed several orders before with Golfsmith and the goods have been delivered without any problems.
I called your customer care desk a few minutes back, and they have no records of the order number or the customer number, and could not assist me any further.
Something is not right, and I would request you guys to fix this quickly.
Let me know what went wrong in this transaction. Do you need me to reorder? Do I need to use a different credit card? Has the amount been refunded to my card? Why are there no records of my previous transactions with your customer care desk?
This is an important order, and I need the delivery before 20th Oct.
Appreciate your prompt support.

It's refreshing to see that I'm not the only person that had horrible service with this company. I ordered a Cleveland putter ($80), and a box of golf balls, ($20). I am right handed, ended up getting a left handed Ping wedge ($150). So I sent it back, per the website, and wrote on the receipt that they sent me the wrong club and that I want my putter. I had to pay for shipping as they do not accept CODs. ($30) I wait and wait and wait, 2 weeks later (after the company had had the package for 6 days) I email them again stating my issue. They send me an email 3 days after that saying that they have issued a refund for my putter and sorry. So now I'm out a putter, and $30, and now that deal isn't going on anymore so I have to pay an extra $20 for the club. What a joke...

I ordered an Adams Wedge set on July 10, 2014. It is now August 26, 2014 and it still has not arrived. They have change the anticipated ship date three times. When i have called, they do not answer for an extremely long time. The obviously do not have access to the clubs. If they ever arrive it will be after the golf season where I live (Rhode Island). Go elsewhere to buy your golf equipment. Golfsmith is not reliable.

I placed and order for callaway razr hl 4-pw, aw on the 5th of June. The clubs finally arrived the 12th of June with (2) 7 irons. Called customer service and she said she would contact shipping to find out what happened. I waited almost an hour and called customer service again, a different person answered and looked up my order and said the first customer service sent an email, I said email. She said yes, I said I want to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said she would send the replacement Fedex Next day . Well they came today the 14th, guess what, they sent the wrong type Flex. I should have ordered them from the other web site that had them $20 less. Golfsmith gave me the discount after I proved them the price. I wonder what they will send the next time, I my be able to use the clubs in JULY.

They are not overly concerned about their shipping practices. I paid for FedEx 2nd day air and it took 2 days before Golfsmith even shipped it.

I am at fault for not paying attention to a bad rating on the Golfsmith web site regarding their used clubs. "Used" should tell you beware but they have 3 grades of used so I figured if I ordered "excellent" shape, I wouldn't get burned.
Wrong assumption. They sent me a wedge that looked like it had been through 15 seasons of instructions at a sand trap only golf school. I wouldn't have paid $1 for it at a yard sale but they charged me $40! Sight unseen is just too risky with this bunch. They can unload any garbage they want on you at exorbitant prices.

Worst customer service team ever i experience from online shopping!
Takes forever for them to pick up phone calls, and never respond to customer's emails.
Never provide any shipping information via email, and even you place your order with express shipping, you won't have any idea when you item is going to be delivered.
When you send email, they send out generated email template (auto-reply) saying that it will take several days for them to reply to email.
Also, when you call them, they say it will take 10-20 minutes to answer, because all representatives are assisting other customers!
I do not care how busy they are! if they are busy, i mean they should hire more people for customer service.
I will never buy anything from them! worst online shopping experience! and i will not recommend Golfsmith to anyone that i know.

I ordered 4 shirts through the clearance sale. I received 2 which were damaged (one I didn't even have to take out of the package to see the hole in it, the other had a very visible black marker stain in the middle of the back on a red shirt), and no communication on the others until I had to chase up. I was initially told they were on backorder (on clearance items?), then told the order was cancelled a week later when I chased up again. On top of that, I was charged double the price for the items I was shipped on my credit card.

Customer service was useless. They just told me order new shirts at/near regular prices. They were 4 J Lindeberg shirts, so the difference between sale and normal prices are considerable. I would say 95% of my golf apparel and clubs I've purchased online and I've never had an issue and I'm sadly a golf addict so I'm ordering stuff often. This was the first and last time I will be using Golfsmith. Go to TGW.com, gppgolf.com, fairwaystyles.com or trendygolfusa.com. These are professional organizations unlike Golfsmith.

I did find something interesting that some people may want to give a shot (I've given up caring):
