Gobodyworks.com review: Fraudulent billing practices 7

I would like to share my horrible experience with Bodyworks in Lubbock, TX on 82nd street (Manager: Tim King). In September, I spoke to Tim King to find out what would be my option if I would want to try out their facilities (their pool ONLY) for some time so I can see if I can stick to the schedule and build up an exercise habit. Tim told me that the best option he could give me would be to pay a $99 membership fee and then I would still have to pay monthly payments of $59 (approximately). At that time, he immediately charged me over $228...initial membership fees and two months of payments. One month later, I received an email from ABC Financial that my account is past due. My entire payment information was given to Tim and I do not like to give up any payment information to strangers (he did not inform me that I would be contacted by ABC Financial)...therefore, I tried to contact Tim. I did not hear from him. After following up on several later attempts to contact him, I finally reached him several weeks later while being quite upset because ABC contacted me again. When I called the ABC automated system, the entire information for my account was wrong and they stated that I am past due $129!I paid $228 (membership fees and 2 months of membership and this information was obviously incorrect, because I only was a member for one month- even monthly fee could not be so high...!) Another option stated that my account is fine...My current account seems to be a big mess! ...I told Tim that I do not like dealing with harassing emails from a company that I do not know even know... especially when I spent an hour of my time making sure (in person) that he has everything that he needs from me when I opened a membership at the beginning of September. Now because of some problems that were NOT CAUSED BY ME, but because of BODYWORKS, I am having this very unpleasant experience ... and I lost my trust in their management, their accounting system, and their billing company. I enjoyed going to swim ...however, this is something that truly disrupts the main purpose of my workout (stress relief and physical relaxation)...I shared this information with the manager, he statd that my account is correct and everything is fine. However, a few days later, I keep receving fraudelent and harrasing emails from ABC Billing company...I agan contacted them but they stated that they do not have appropriate information from BODYWORKS (despite the fact that their manager stated that he resolved the problem several days ago). I am still having difficulties to communicate with either Bodyworks or ABC...because they seem to ignore my numerous attempts to communicate to them that my account is OK and their information is incorrect. They acknowledged it several times, , , but then Bodyworks does not seem to communicate with ABC... HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES! Based on feedback from other people...it appears that this is a VERY COMMON PROBLEM with BODYWOKS in LUBBOCK TX. I shared my experience with the owner of BODYWORKS because I thought that he(as an owner of thecompany) would appreciate knowing what type of customer service his staff provides to your clients. NO RESPONSE!... Amazing...

Ok for all who are trying to cancel contracts. You can cancel if you have had your contract for the 24 months after that it is month to month. You can cancel if you are deemed by a doctor to be fully disabled and unable to use any Equiptment in the gym. They need proof and they have 30 days to cancel membership so they will charge you for at least the month you sent info in and the next month plus a 75.00 cancelation fee... If you move more than 60 miles from Lubbock then you have to send proof of new address with a utility bill or lease in your name no other proof is accepted. And yes you will pay two more membership months and a 75.00 cancelation fee. Now to cancel you have to call and talk to someone at the 34th street location. They handle all the memberships and cancelations in that office. Once your contract is up it does not renew the contract it goes to a month to month until you cancel.

I am trying to cancel as well due to the cleanliness issues and it being a poorly managed facility. I have three kids and love children however to have kids running loose all over the place is not cool and does not provide a greatly workout environment. I however made the mistake of paying annually which means no refunds of unused dues. I would have been better off paying monthly. This place is poorly run and operates. I hate body works.

I signed up for a membership and was told that if I moved I could cancel, but no one would take my call at the gym when I tried to cancel. They gave me another number to call, but as far as I can tell it's just a machine. I leave a message, and no one calls me back. I finally called my back, and had them cancel payment. Today I get a call from ABC Member Services saying that my account is passed due. No sh**!?! "Member Services" is a, however, a lie. They only send out bills and do collections. They can't cancel my membership. Then, the representative tells me that if I don't pay, they will send my bill to collections. She said that I have to go into the gym to cancel. Oh, I'll go in. They may have to call the police to get me out!

I have had a similar experience with body works at 4th street in Lubbock. I signed up for their membership. I was taking personal training sessions because of my back, and the person i dealt with agreed that I would only pay for sessions I take. But they started charging my card monthly for the trainer and I did not even take any sessions. Everytime I have been there to talk to them the person in charge of the accounts is never there, even when I call they are never there or are expected there sometime that day, they don't know when. After my 2 year contract was over they automatically renewed my membership without even asking me and are still billing me. They can't keep their staff everytime there is a new person you have to talk to, and they don't know about anything you are saying. Absolute ### service!

Could you please give me their contact information? I have been trying to cancel a membership for a long time (I no longer live in Lubbock) and I cannot find the right person to talk to. So a charge has been coming out of my account every month for a VERY long time.
