After reading various reviews about GMX, it's clear that customers have had mixed experiences with the service. While some users appreciate the free email accounts and security features, others have faced issues such as frequent log-out requirements, account blocks without clear explanations, and difficulties in accessing customer support. It seems that GMX may work well for some users, but there are significant concerns raised by others that potential customers should consider before signing up.

I am using gmx from more than 10 years and I do not have any issues at all. Although I had recommended to my friends and they had issues and also have been blocked. Might be they must be having a cap on its membership drive.
Otherwise I only use GMX for all my communications, including all of my family members.

I found GMX searching Google, looking for reviews on email providers. I have gmail for google play, hate yahoo, have outlook but don't use it ( I don't get all my emails). GMX is totally the great! It has easy tools. You don't need Steve Jobs or computer geek to help you. No Spam! No missed mail! You may like it too!

I love them. No problems, my problems were with Gmail, Yahoo and Outlook Express.
People, family ask me who they are and I can't really say because I don't know what GMX
Stand for. But my service from them has been 100%. I'm so glad that I changed. Surprised
To see that they don't have a higher rating, they need to be on the top with the "big boys."

I have had GMX account for almost two years. It is unremarkable in every way - It works just as it should. I have no complaints or negative commnets to make. So many bad reviews, but for me it is a gem of a service. I use it with andriod, with thunderbird and I log in direct. All works just as it should do and always has done. I log in from all over the world, no trouble.

I'm new to GMX and so far, so good. I chose it as it was recommended by a reputable reviewer on the net as a simple, no-frills service, coming in 4th after gmail, yahoo, fire fox. This is just what I wanted for a secondary address to be used for specific purposes. I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews. The good thing is that it is free and you can opt out at any time if not completely satisfied.

One thing you might notice when reading all of the negative reviews is that the negative reviewers have only one or two reviews compared to the positives which have 100's. Enough said.

This service I have been using now for a few months using POP mail with mozilla thunderbird and it is fantastic. I write e-mails and they send. I receive emails and get a notification in my system tray. I love this company and I love this email. GMX 4 LIFE!

Ps: I've never had my email hacked by china. (gmail)

I find it surprising that so many people have problems with GMX. For some reason my regular email client suddenly refused to accept email from a friend I've been talking to for over 20 years. He has had GMX for years and suggested I try that. I've been using it for several months and I have absolutely no problems with it, no Spam, nothing. Attachments come and go fine. I usually just use it for him and my regular email client for everyone else but occasionally use GMX for others and they've never reported a problem either.

I'm sorry that other people have had trouble with GMX, but it has been the easiest email service I've ever used (and I've used a bunch). The few times I had questions and emailed support, I received a response within 24 hours (or usually less). Their help always solved the problems. I just love everything about it and, believe me, I am usually one of the people who has to say that whatever product everyone else loves has been nothing but a headache for me. I hope the people who have troubles with it give it another chance!

I have a bunch of accounts there, since I game and want different accounts for different games or sometimes several accounts on the same game. Also it helps me be anonymous on the web since it's harder to track you when you spray yourself all over the web using different email accounts. I use Tbird to roll them all up and GMX works great with Tbird. And I use GMX with the web too. Very nice clean interface. And unlike Google, they support multiple accounts very nicely via web or clients like Tbird.

They have drive services too, but I've not used those much. But some. They work fine.

Worst. Email. Ever.

I get this account thinking that it would be a great supplementary account for some of my business accounts.

Well, it might be if I could have actually accessed it on a consistent basis.

Then suddenly my password did not work. I changed it and changed it and changed it but it did not work - this was after accessing the account every day.

I sent email after email to GMX asking, pleading for them to correct the problem so I could get into my account. All I received was a cut and paste of their FAQs. When I responded that I had already tried those things over and over and over but they didn't work, I got crickets - nada - no response.

After months of trying over and over to get into my account to at least retrieve the information and emails that were in there I receive a note from this joke of a company saying that my account has been deactivated for inactivity.

WHAT?!?!

It was inactive because I could not access it! Their substandard system does not work.

These developers obviously have no clue whatsoever about operating and creating an effective email system. I don't know how to do it either, but at least I am intelligent enough to realize it and not scam thousands of people into trusting a system that does not work.

If you are silly enough to go ahead and sign up with this joke of a company, knock yourself out, but please take this advice:

Keep copies of every email and contact and put it on your cloud or hard drive. One day you could wake up and your account could be deactivated without warning and all your information is lost.
Do not store any information on there that is vital. The system is extremely volatile and is not reliable.
Do not recommend this service to friends - unless you don't want those friends any longer or you have a grudge against them.
Do not share or store any personal or private information through the system; it is not secure.

If you want a reliable service, gmail is awesome. You can organize your email in folders and sub folders, filter messages to be automatically tagged or sent to folders, sort messages under several handy tabs - it's just a great service. You can sync it and not only have your email anywhere, but your bookmarks, documents and other information as well. AND it is secure. I have had my gmail account for years and have never had a problem.
I also have an AOL account which is fairly good, and a Yahoo which is OK. My Gmail account, though, is the best.

I've tried to report the problem on several levels to contact someone but no one is answering me

On 8.1 my emails stopped coming to my email address, I don't know why. I have tried to log in to my email account, but to no avail. I tried to change my password but it won't go through 2FA and I'm entering the code 100% correctly. I have an email with tickets for FIS ski Jasna, which I have paid for 3 people, I need to solve this problem urgently. I do not want to solve the problem by legal means and therefore I need you to call me immediately on tel. number +[protected] and explain how to get my emails. Secondly, I need to know what technical problems you are having or how you have set up some monitoring system so that the email service stops ad hoc and you are not fulfilling the terms and conditions of the email service.

They locked me out of one of my GMX account. I needed this account to get an Apple code so I could change my Apple subscription. GMX WOULD NOT HELP ME SO i AM LOCKED OUT THE GMX ACCOUNT AND HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR THE APPLE SUBSRIPTION.

BEWARE THEIR SUPPORT AND POLICIES ARE CRAP!

I stupidly transferred over €700 with a ´paypal freunde` transaction to your account holder ´[protected]@gmx.de`for the purchase of a pottery wheel for my student. I of course did not receive the goods and the money was gone !

This was,as I later discovered, not the first attempt at fraud by this disgusting individual !

trying to locate her through ebay kleinanzeige and Paypal have provrd fruitless

and I do not hold out much hope for the police complaint I registered without some help?

Ever since yesterday, these crooks have block me from accessing my email account. I thought it was because of the desktop i was using but then tried macbook and same thing happened. Something about my account being block for my security. Yeah, right! they can't do a thing about blocking scam crap no matter what I do! I just want to access account and delete it so I can let others know I no longer have this foul account.

I just tried to sign into my gmx email account and it says my password is wrong. I clicked on the "forgot password" and it said it was sending a text code to a phone number ending in 7418. My cell number is 7416. I can't change the phone number so i have no way of resetting my password. When I click on support, to fill out a form, it flashes for about 1 second and then dissappears. It goes back to the sign in page and the clock spins for about 3 seconds and the form page flashes up again for 1 second again, then does this over and over.

Fails to look into allegations of phishing

I am receiving phishing emails from users at their service via GMX.net. I informed them through their contact form but their English-language people insist that, because it's from their German-language service, I must use a German-language "kontaktformular" instead. I'm unsure why the first people who work for GMX won't forward my complaint to any other people who work for GMX but rather demand that I do their work for them, but OK I guess I'm the victim so I have to do the legwork. Then the Germans unloaded several pages of German-language technicalities on me and eventually told me (I think? it's in German) to contact English-speaking people for help. A says, please talk to B -- B says, sprechen Sie bitte mit A. Full circle run-around. (Funny thing is, I do speak a little German.) I'm not taking any more time with this slippery organization. They deliberately encourage phishing, IMO.

Im not happy I've waited an hour for a taxi this as happened twice to me on a saturday and every time i ring i get I've sent u one or were busy and i get u call get busy but an hour its a joke saturday 22nd phoned at 11.30 turned up at 12.30 am

So my daughter who is a dj ordered a taxi via GMX at 11:34 for katie telling them she was a dj and had equiptment so would possibly need an estate car. Being the last person to leave the venue a taxi from GMX turned up for Bailey. As Bailey had already left the venue the taxi driver agreed to take her. The lovely taxi driver even helped her to unload her dj equiptemt; speakers, amp, leads bag, TV and mic box. (Thanks to him!) Unfortunately after loading the gear into the house, it's been discovered she had left her phone on the taxi. I then phoned GMX giving them the details, to which I was told nobody picked her up. No one helped her unload the gear outside the house because according to your customer service rep on the phone no-one not one GMX taxi dropped her off at out home address?! Yet the lovely taxi driver her helped her unload? I then got told to stop swearing because I said the word Jesus, after being constantly told no-one picked her up. I'm disgusted with the man that answered the phone, I don't drink I run a team of djs and I recommended they use carfax GMX where needed. I will never use this company again! Ans I will make sure I mention this at all my future gigs! Fair play to your taxi driver tat don't pick her up an don't help her unload thanks mate! Bring back Cartax!

This company has contacted me through my GMX account to inform that I have been a winner in a prize contest I have not received this prize but they have just taken money from my account 33 Euros to be correct I will be in touch with the police and Will follow this through please let me know if you have any information over this rip off firm thank you

There is a hacker on my site who is a publishing company stealing my material in regards to a book that I am writing. No one should change my password but because they do not need a password, they get in. They just started on yesterday. Please close this site and I will get back with you. Please close this account. GMX service is biased and unprofessional and they hold crush for no reason to some email providers and some domains erroneously marking them (in their tiny world) as dangerous and email is not arriving even if whitelisted and even from popular email service providers such as GMAIL. GMX interface is super-loaded with the nasty abusive "HERO WARS" ads and the more you close those ads the more of that filth GMX and GOOGLE serve to the end user despite promising to "never show those ads again".

I have been receiving constant pornographic material now off a sender for a whole week. Please can you help me trace these emails as they are using your email provider service. It is a serious nature & I may be getting the police involved for harassment I have plenty of visual evidence but it currently will not go through to you. I need this sorted out as I am in ILL health

It seem wrong to complain about a service that is free! but this really has caused me problems.

My account [protected]@gmx.com has been blocked due to irregular activity. I have no idea what this activity is. Evidently it will take some time before this can be processed by one of your agents?

My complaint is that in the meantime the account remains open to incoming email so people are assuming I am receiving their emails. If you are going to block an account you MUST bounce incoming emails to it so people can see there is a problem.

Typical German company. They operate here like in Germany. Block accounts for no reason. Called customer service and the guy in India pretended not to be a GMX customer service. Called again and asked if this is GMX.com customer service, he said yes and hung up. Recently they put most of my emails into the spam folder and deleted all two days later. My setting was 30 days. I lost many important emails and time.

I'm unable to access my gmx email account [protected]@gmx.com which I've used for years and not had a problem with it before.

It says there has been irregular activity and asks me to fill in a contact form. When I do this and hit the 'send' button, it doesn't work but does nothing.

Please can you look into this asap as I use this address for all my main emails.

Since 35 days gmx makes me change my password every day.
Every day they send me an email telling me that there is 'unusual activity' on my account, so I have been blocked.
In that same mail they tell me to change my password.
It is the only way to get into my account again.
They do not read my emails to customer support when I ask help to solve this problem.
I only get useless standard electronic responses.
They have no telephone number for customer support.
Gmx is the company that advertises itself withe this:
"customer email support is our priority
Our team is committed to helping you with any question or issue regarding your gmx email account. Email troubleshooting is our daily task - whenever you encounter any problem, contact us immediately. Our priority is to make gmx email accounts the best option for you. Our professional staff will provide you with any help you need."
Clearly they don't mean it.

GMX.com is the worst email provider I have had the experience with in 20 years of using online email. They just blatantly deleted my account after 2 weeks while I only had sendt 2-3 test emails to verify it working. After 5 emails complaining about this to even their press office they still refuses to even tell me why it has been deleted... GMX.com can not be trusted at all, stay away from this company at all cost !

I expected so much more from a company based in Germany and I will send complaint about them to the official German government agencies that has to do with user rights as. A Important company running infra structure can not be run this way and they need to be shut down or get their act together...

This happned after just 2 weeks of making an account with them for use with nicehash.com crypto mining for use as transaction verification, they simply deleted my account without warning or anything. At that time I had only used it 2 or 3 times sending and reciving emails to myself to verify that it would indeed function properly.

I did this before I gave it that important task of functioning as my transaction email that require 100% uptime as if it goes down I loose a lot of money as it is impossible to change the email and all the money will be lost forever.

When I descovered that I could not log on anymore I tried to send a email to myself and then saw that the email account had indeed been deleted, the worst thing that could happen had happened...

I sent immediately (2 weeks ago) email using another account I made at GMX.com asking why it had been deleted and explained them that I needed to get it back up running or I would loose money. Only reply I get is that security department have blocked the email and they refuse to tell why. That same message I get every time I complain that security has reviewed it and they refuse to tell why they have shut it down and why they will not re open it.

I have asked to get a phone number or email so I can speak with the security department directly but I only get the same answer that security have blocked the email after reviewing and will not tell me why...

I can only conclude by the basis of this that GMX.com is not a email provider that is safe to use as they block accounts on a whim and refuses to even tell why. I will now have to go to court and demand from official German court to make them re open the account and also reveal why they closed it in the first place... I will never ever use GMX.com anymore myself and I am loosing a lot of money because of this company...

I used GMX email service for some private business purposes and it was really important to me. One day I wanted to check my mail and when I tried to log into my account I was not able to do that. It said that my password was incorrect. I tried their "forgot password" option and nothing. I was supposed to answer the security question and I knew the answer, but it said that my answer was also incorrect.
Then I tried to contact their customer service and get some help, but they never replied! No matter how many times I emailed they never bothered to answer. I need to access my account, it's really important!

I am continually spammed by emails from this site gmx.com. An example is below:
