Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] fraud

I received numberous calls from gmac offering to sell or rent my condo. This was in 2008. I paid a sum of $1000. To date I have heard nothing. They don't return my emails. I'd like to file a formal complaint and don't know what to do. Can someone please advise?

Just a suggestion, I've been dealing with a gentleman named Austin Brusen in FL. for about 3 years now. He works for a company called International Timeshare Association, and has done a great job renting for me.
If you want to do any research, check out their rating with the BBB. That's what I did, and they have an A rating. If you would like to contact Austin yourself, his email is abruusen@hotmail.com.
He says they can sell my time share too, but I just want to rent for now.

You can file your complaints with the Florida Dept of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Their email is cswebmaster@doacs.state.fl.us Their phone is [protected]
They contacted me also and I thoroughly investigated and found they have over 80 complaints in the last 36 months and 59 in past 12 months with the Better Business Bureau. Here is some info that i found:
The real mane of this company is CHL Marketing DBA GMAC Real Estate Timeshare Division. It was registered in Oct of 2007. The principals are as follows:

wow..that is crazy. actually someone just called me from there the other day..you need to file a formal complaint with the better business bureau and with your credit card company to try to get your money back or file a civil suit on them.
this was the guy that called me from GMAC [protected] x113, his name was Ralph Wilson, maybe he can help you.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] reposession and asking for more money

About 3 years ago, my wife and I had to file chapter 13 bankruptcy. Gmac was one of the creditors in the bankruptcy. At the end of 2009, due to my wife losing her job at the beginning of 2009, our bankruptcy was dismissed. During the period, however gmac recieved $3618.00 for the 2002 impala I had. The claim amount for the bankruptcy was $5550.00. Well 2 months after the dismissal, gmac claims they tried to call me 3 times to contact me. They called alright, twice while I was a work and 1 time when I was asleep during the day because I work at night. They have my cell phone number, which they never called and the 3 times they called were all to the house number.
On february 22, 2010, without contacting me, my bankruptcy lawyer, or no notice in the mail, they sent the repo man to my house to collect the car. While the tow truck driver was here, I called them and they told me that to get the car back I needed to pay $4800.00 and to call back in 24 hours. I got my stuff out of the car and let the repo man take the vehicle. I then called 24 hours later, that $4800.00 jumped up to over $6700.00! In 24 hours! There was still a possibility of getting the car back. My lawyer told me that they have to give you 10 business days to refile the bankruptcy. So we figured the vehicle would still be there at least until the end of the first week in march. Oh no! By that friday, the car was gone to baltimore for auction preparation. Let's see no notice of reposession, no physical contact to inform the owner it was going to be reposessed, and we have not gotten to the real crazy part yet.
On march 16, 2010 they sold the car to $3100.00. Let's add this up now 3100+3618=6718.00. Simple math right? Wrong! They sent me a notice saying I owe them $3672.00 more! I called there so called bankruptcy department and they said I owe them for the balance due. I asked what balanced due? I only owed $5500 on the car. With the money that I have already paid and the money they want, it's over $10, 000! I told the guy, "let's go to court, and i'll let a judge decide if anything is owed or not." I also told them that I am sure the judge will want to hear about the actions of your so called company. Let me know the court date please, and if I need a lawyer, I will have one!
I do not know what has gotten into this company, they used to be pretty damned good about customer service and willing to work with people. Over the past 3 years, they have gotten to be a company that is now on everyone's sh — list. I plan on buying gm again, but will not deal with gmac ever again!

They probably added a repossession, key-making, storage, transportation, and auction fees to the total balance, which was why you still owed money. Although, the amount still seems rather high even after all of these fees.

Also, they usually raise the amount needed to be paid to redeem the vehicle when they feel that it may be repossessed again or you may file bankruptcy again. Sometimes it can go up to the full amount owed.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] harrasment

I am submitting a complaint about gmac: in a nutshell, my brother in law bought a vehilcle from them, and gave them my phone number;
That happened about 2- 3 years ago; now, I understand he stopped making payments, and gmac is looking for him. So, gm called me a few times, and was sympathetic with them, however I did tell them, that I have nothing to do with my brother-in-law, I do not know anything about him, where he is, his phone #, I am just not that close with my in-laws. I asked them to stop calling at one point, but the calls did not stop, they got worse. One day, I was at home for lunch, when I received a phone call from gmac, asking to leave a message for my brother in law, I told them, that no point, because I am not ever in any contact with him, and I do not know where he was. The person on the other end, had the guts to tell me literally: "yes, you do, don't give me that! I will send a sherif car over to your house!" well, I can not even start describing how furious that made me, that is the first rate harrasment. I hung up with that #, and phoned gmac directly and filed a complaint with them about their liegal department and told them that, if they are that desperate that gm would sell anything to anyone, it is gm's problem, not mine. May be they should be doing a better credit check before selling cars to people, and may be they deserve to be on the brink of bancropcy, because of the way they do business. And, if in search, of my brother in law, all they have is my phone number, not even his sin, his bank account, that just proves how little they do to protect themselves before they make a sale. I demanded that the phone calls stop immediately, that I am going to complain about them everywhere I possibly can, and that I will never ever in my life will even consider buying a gm vehicle. I also said I demand an apology from the # that phoned me and accused me of lying and threatning to send a sheriff's car. I do not know, whether the phonecalls will stop, that is why I am posting my complaint here. Thank you. Yana knight

This is not a complaint. I signed up with gmac timeshare division about 6 months ago. They were very honest with me and told me that my timeshare wouldn't sell right away . They also told me that it would rent if I answered the phone for their offers... 2 and a half months went by, they called me with an offer on my 2 bedroom week at Wyndham Bonnett creek for $2, 400! I took it, and my check was in the mail in 10 days! I was was very satisfied because of the simple fact that I had paid other companies to do this and received no results! Thank you GMAC!

I feel the up front money to sell and promote my timeshare in Durango Colo, was rip-off. No calls no nothing, the old saying take the money and run is best said about there operation as a Timeshare sales. your better off on e-bay or anything but GMACTD. Good Luck who ever you are.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] they lied

I leased a 2005 gmac chevy equinox. When I turned in the car, it was lived in but had no damage, except for 2 burn holes, one in each of the front seats. I never disputed that. And I paid those charges, no problem. $150 per seat cushion. But the other charges, I have disputed. The first was a damaged windshield; they showed pictures of the windshield severely out of focus which appeared to be circled in white, but the area was in plain view from the passenger seat, and I had just inspected it with the dealer and there was no crack or anything wrong with the windshield.

The other charge was a paint job I had done when I was in an accident. It was a hit and run, I had side damage on the front passenger door and panel area, and countracoup damage on the other side in the left passenger side over the left rear wheel. When the accident happened, I called my agent (nationwide) they sent me to a sister dealer (a gmac dealer) the same name, different location as the dealer I bought my car from. They fixed the car up and it looked very good. They never indicated the paint was not a match, and to my eye, the color was exactly the same. I drove that car another 6 or 8 months after the dameage was fixed, and never saw anything different in the color. Again, on the webiste the pictures are poor quality, and the only color difference is one of the pictures has part of the car in shade, the other in bright sunlight. That is the only place you would (and should) see a difference in the color. Shade makes it look darker, gmac, and your dealer is the one that fixed my car. They knew it was a lease so why would they change the color? And if they did, why was that my fault?

I disputed their claims for months. Finally, I received a call from someone who told me if I paid the $300 for the damaged cushions, then they would not ask for the rest, and in good faith, I accepted that offer. I paid the $300 and thought it was over. Months later, I was told that some "supervisor" did not agree with the deal, and wanted the rest fo the money paid!. Now, today, I get a call from a collections agent. I told her I disputed the claim, gmac lied, and I was not going to pay the rest. Put it on my credit, you think I care?

Oh by the way, I have bought another gmac car. I am not ever going to do a smartlease again. I like the cars, but not the company I am buying it from.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] gmac employees have no idea how to talk to people

For over 50 years my father was a gm car dealer (cadillac). He was a staunch advocate of 'american-made cars' and was loyal to gm until his death a few years ago. No one in our family has ever purchased any vehicle that was not made by gm.

My husband and I have a leased vehicle, the lease is up this month. We contacted the dealer two months ago about 'turning' the vehicle in. Dealer at the time was worried about the taxpayer buy-out and told us he would look for a vehicle for us, not to worry and that cadillac had a 'pull-ahead' deal and we would not have to pay the last two months on our lease. Being the daughter of a long time gm dealer, I knew what the dealer was saying. Lo and behold, phone call comes into my husbands business a few days ago with the threat "we will be repossessing the vehicle in one hour". My husbands secretary called him on the job to tell him. He then immediately made the final two payments to gmac. What the heck? Gm says one thing, then another? We are waiting for the new vehicle which was explained to gmac but they did not want to listen. We have decided to cancel the new gm cadillac we ordered and will be purchasing either a lexus or hyundai. After being loyal customers to gm for so many years, not to mention the family owning a dealership for many years, we are dismayed over the rudeness of the person from gmac. First of all, giving out personal information to a secretary is an invasion of our privacy. Secondly, we were merely following cadillac's instructions not to pay the last two months of the lease. Thirdly, as taxpayers, I am disgusted that any of our hard-earned money went into bailing out a company that obviously does not care about their customers. No wonder the company is folding. Good-bye gm, you've lost another group of loyalists and you have no one to blame but yourselves and the ignorance of the gmac employees who have no idea how to talk to people.

I totally agree. I was on the phone yesterday with GMAC for over 2 hours. Every person I spoke to was rude and did not want to help me. I am struggling and looking for answers, and that was the last thing they wanted to do was help me.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] payment late 1 day

I have an agreement of paying so much for the overage on my old lease. My payment was 1 day late due to the mail system, they are asking me for an amount in which I cannot afford, and are automatically sending my account to collections. The girl I talked to on the phone said I had the option of calling in my payment, which I had no idea I could. She then said that I could talk to a supervisor the following week, what is that going to do now when I need to talk to someone, next week will not work for me.
It will be after the account goes into collection.
They said that if the mail doesnt get there in time, then they take action, what about the letter that they sent out to me that was dated on the 9th and I recieved it on the 17th. And they will penalize me for that.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] I lost my home...

Over the last several months my husband and I have been trying to work with gmac mortgage to save our home. I am unemployed and my husband is self employed and as many others have... We too have fallen on hard times. I wanted to share with you my horrible ordeal. The easiest way to do this would be a time line.

In september 2009 I contacted gmac to explain my hardship. They were kind enough to give us a 4 month forebanrance taking us through december 09. (we trully appreciated this. I had hopes that within the next 4 months our business would pick up and I would be able to find a job. Unfotunaly this did not happen)
December 22, 2009 we received a letter from orlans/moran (gmac's attorney's) stating that our mortgage was in default and that we needed to contact gmac to make some kind of arrangements. I contacted gmac immediatly and asked what the process would be. They stated to submit paper work for a loan modification..
January 11, 2010 all necessary paper work including a financial analysis for loss mitigation workout, a financial hardship affidavit, request for transcript of tax returns, bank statements and the sourse of income (which was massachuetts unemployement) was faxed. I called and confirmed that they received all paper work.
On january 21, 2010 we were sent by certified mail a notice of intention to foreclose on tuesday, february 16, 2010.
January 22, 2010 I contacted both gmac and orlans/moran (gmac's attorney's) to see how I could stop this from happening. Both parties told me two things - that I needed to contact the loss mitigation department (which I had already done) and that if we called on thursday, february 11, 2010 (5 days prior to the aution date) and not any earlier we could ask to postpone the aution. At this point I had high hopes of delaying the aution and saving our home because of the hope for homeowners and/or a loan modification.
January 26, 2010 I contacted gmac to see what the status of the loan modification was. They said it was still in review.
February 3, 2010 I was sent a letter regarding some additional documentation they needed. They were missing a copy of the most recent paystub (which I had sent them already), unemployemnt award letter and 2008 taxes (which again... I had already sent them.)
February 8, 2010 called to see if there was any update on the loan modification and to explain that we maybe filing for bankrupcy. Nothing at this point. Instructed at this time to call on thursday, february 11th to ask to postpone the aution as instructed.
February 11, 2010 I called to asked to have the aution postponed. A ticket was entered. I instructed the gentalmen to make sure that they called me on my cell if they had any questions or need anything. I was adimint about it! I also asked them to put in the notes that I was very very close to getting a job... I am on the 3rd round of interviews and all I was asking was for a couple of weeks to see if I got the job. They told me that they would document that.
February 11, 2010 - at 2:00 eastern time I received a call from a woman named maureen who asked me to give her a call. It was late that evening and I had to wait until the morning to contact her.
February 12, 2010 - called maureen around 10 am regarding message left the night prior. [protected], option #5 and extention - 2365415) I left all the information needed for her to get back in touch with me including my cell phone. About an hour later I trired calling maureen back and still got voicemail. I finally called the regular call center in which I was told that the request had been denied due to missing documentation. The documentation stated that they did not have the signed 2008 tax form which I had already faxed over twice before. Very upset I stated that I would send the information right way. The representive told me that the fax could take up 24 to 48 hrs to receive and once received I could ask for the aution to be postponed. 24 to 48 business hours would bring us to tuesday! This was unexceptable to me and demanded a different solution... She gave me an emergancy fax line. [protected]) I still wanted to talk with maureen who I was told was a supervisor... I called and left a total of 6 message throughout the day asking maureen to contact me. I begged her to just call me and update me as to where I stood. I never received a phone call from her. I called the call center at least 5 to 6 different times demanding to speak with a supervisor... No one would put me through to one. Everyone told me that they would need to enter a ticket for a call back and I would be contacted withint 24 to 48 hours! What! I was so upset... All I was looking for was answers... All I wanted was for someone to "own" my file so I did not have to speak with 7-8 different represetives who I had to repeat my story to 7-8 different times. Finally at 4:33 while speaking with a woman I was told that my fax was received, that a request to have the aution postponed was submitted once again and I was insured that I would be contacted by a supervisor that evening before closing. I waited all night... No one called.
February 15, 2010 - first thing in the morning I called maureen and left a message on her voicemail and then I called the call center... At which time I was informed that I would not be granted the postponment of the aution because I was denied for both the hope for homeowners and a traditional modification because I could not afford to pay the mortgage. I am sure you can imagine how upset I was/am. I tried to explain to the representive that all I am asking for is a couple of weeks to postpone the sale. That I have a 3rd round job interview this week that if I get the job would allow me to pay my mortgage and get me on my feet again. I asked why a supervisor never contacted me and they stated that their was a ticket still open for one to call and I told them it was unexceptable. I told the gentleman that I would not get off the phone until I was talked with a supervisor. The gentleman came back 3 times and told me that there was no one to speak with... But I told him I was not going to get off the phone... Finally they placed me with stacey. ([protected]) I explained to stacy what I had gone through over the last couple of days, I explained to her how many calls I had placed to maureen, I explained to her my sitution with my employeement and that all I needed was 2 weeks to find out if I got the job. All I was asking was for 2 weeks. The answer was no.

We truly feel that gmac has intentially deceved us for the following reason:

They knew that we might file chapter 13 bankruptcy which would immediatly hault any foreclosure or aution process.
We feel that they intentionally delayed our request to speak with a superior so we could not esculate the sitiation. We were adamant that my cell phone number be the only contact number and we also stated not to call the house number which is where maureen left the message.
We were never contacted to be notified that any of our packets were missing documents... The only time we found this out was when I called them to request an update. At which point we did receive a letter of missed items... But only after I had called them days prior and request what info was missing.
We believe that gmac knew all along that we did not quaify for either one of the plans but chose to tell us only hours before the deadline and on a federal/state holiday so we would not have access to the courts to save our home by way of filing the chapter 13 bankruptcy.
Ms. Slack - I know that at this time we can not afford the home. I am not nieve to that. All I am asking or was asking for was a delay in the aution...in order to see if I did get the job. 2-4 weeks tops! I am not sure why waiting another couple weeks would hurt them or their investors. (gnma) if I don't get the job... Then we move on. At least I know I had the option and can tell my children we tried.

I lost my job and was denied unemployment during the holidays last Nov, I went to court and I won the unemployment case and was sent the funds owed to me for past 4 months, I tried to work with them and explain the situation and wanted to give them 2 months out of the 4 that I owed, They would not take my money and said ALL or nothing we are going to foreclose! alternative was loan modification since I did find employment that i just started. It took forever to get a response and finally it was denied because i didn't make enough, as i am in sales and they DONT consider commissions part of income?! So I finally found a job that paid better and reapplied and now denied because I showed too much income! even though I was trying to play catch up with all my back bills. Iam now in foreclosure state and they want to settle by putting all the money plus attorney fees, late fees and add to the back end of the mortgage (approx 20k)... They just did NOT want to work with me at all and seems like they just wanted to push me into foreclosure.. Horrible company to work with!

I guess we all feel what you feel. I had filed for modification, I new that the paperwork was in review and they sent our home onto the sale and sold it out from under us while we were already in the Modification Process. Then I receive a letter 6 days after the sale stating * Not enough time to review - will go to foreclosure sale and the letter was dated the date of the sale, post marked the day after the sale and we received it 6 days later.
Just like the paperwork for me to fill out for the Modification. I requested the Modifiaction through a client rep and online the same day. Did not get the paper work for 15 more days. They FedX on one day and I received it at my door 5 day after that It took me about 14 days to get it all completed due to we are both self employed and had to produce Profit and Loss Statements. They never mentions a time line. I faxed all 40 pages waited 2 days to call them and was then told it was all receiced and was in review. I even mentioned my concern about the sale and the re assured me be was resubmitting the request to stop the loan from the sale due to all my paperwork was in review, But they got me anyway. I feel Violated in the deepest respect bcause we had about 35 thousand equity in our home and lost it all including the memories. I have a appointment with a Lawyer this afternoon and am hopeing with all the dates and documentation I have that something can be done.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] mortgage modifacation

In sept. 2009, I called gmac mortgage, I told them I would be a week late on my mortgage payment of 1330.49 do to decrease of income. (I have never been late or missed a payment in 14 years) iwas told that I was approved for a loan modifaction under the obama stimulus affordable housing program. That for sept. Oct. Nov. And dec. 2009 my payment would be 682.00. Was told that if I am denied, late fees and interest of about $ 4, 000.00 would accumulate during this 4 month program. I replied to the repersentive that I cannot do the program as I cannot pay that large amount of charges in 4 months. She replied "of course we do not expect you to pay that". I replied "what happens to these fees of 4, 000.00 dollars" she replied "that these charges would be applied to the end of the loan and can be paid if you sell you home or pass away and just sit there," you don't have to pay them.". At the time of this conversation she made me feel that she was telling me the truth as she was a loan specialist. I summited 3 loan modification applications during this 4- month period, was denied 1st time, was told that I did not make enough money. Called gmac and asked, what do I do at this point. Was told to apply again and show increase of income, she said" how many bedrooms do you have in your house? I said 2, she said, "then say that you are renting the 2nd bedroom out for like 400.00 a month. Go on google and down load a rental agreement and fill that out, send that in with 2nd set of your loan modification application even though your not actually renting a room. Was denied 2nd time, was told I don't make enough money after waiting for 6- weeks with - out no word on this. I called again after receiving a statement that I owed 3, 200.00 due 1st of nov.2009, then I called about this statement, was told to keep paying the $ 682.00. I sent gmac 1330.49 my regular payment amount due to fear of getting further behind on these charges even though she said not to. Seeing more and more deception on every call to this company! Then I called in dec.2009. Loan specialist told me that I sent too much and she applied the $ 1330.49 sent in nov.2009 of 682.00 for nov. S payment and $ 682.00 for dec. S 2009 $682.00, she told me to call back in jan. 2010, meanwhile I received a intent to foreclose, certified mail. I was so upset, called gmac immeditaley, was told that I had to do a re-payment plan for 6-months - jan.2010-june 2010 of the amount of $1867.87. I said at this time I cannot afford this amount. Was told" it does not matter what you can afford as if you don't pay this, we will foreclose. I continued to call several times after to try to get this amount reduced. I had to agree to the amount of $1768.40 which is just about bankrupting me. No money left for paying normal monthly bills. Car, utilities, etc. I feel strongly that false promises, deception, misrepresentation by gmac mortgage has done everything possible to destroy my life. Thank you; jeanette singh

GMAC Mortgage is unethical. And our government gave them our tax dollars so we can pay GMAC Mortgage to lie to us. However, with all the noise I've been making and after filing a complaint with my Attorney General's office, the Office Of Financial Institutions, the Better Business Bureau, and others, I now have contact information for real, live people that are not customer service reps. GMAC Mortgage has an Advocacy Resolution Specialist and you can reach this department at [protected]. I would urge anyone that has a dispute to call this department and let them assist you--I'm sure GMAC Mortgage would be delighted to hear from all of their dissatisfied customers.

This is Not a complaint, let me repeat, this is NOT a complaint, this is for people that need help and got theirselves into jams w/ company's that took money upfront w/o helping them with a solution for their home, please check out this company, JK-Liberators Delinquent Mortgage & Debt Relief Program, www.jkliberators.org . They really helped me out when i was in a terrible jam AND i had little faith in them b/c i've been in 4 different loan mod programs, including Nationwide, and was ripped the hell off. BUT i prayed about it and decided to give it another try and i received really great results and i'm finally happy with the results. I highly recommend this company to anybody.

So far I've recommended this company to a couple of my neighbors and they are happy too. I know that working w/ another company my be hard, especially for me, just pray and put a little more trust in this people. U can call these people and get to speak w/ somebody(a REAL person) almost all the time, and receive and update. most of the time u would get a call before u can call them. there are really good on communication. so yes that is a plus.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter for two reasons. The first reason is as follows. My son was in a serious accident on september 27, 2009 which totaled his 2007 chevrolet-z71. I requested an investigation with esis/gm central claims unit as to why the airbags did not deploy at the time of impact when the truck hit a tree head on before coming to a stop. As of november 4, 2009 I received a letter from esis disclosing that gmac will not honor my request for damages but never gave any explanation as to why the airbags did not deploy.

The second reason for the letter is that my insurance company was handling the paying off of the loan with gmac and requested a payoff letter. Travelers received the payoff letter and sent payment to gmac to pay the totaled 2007 chevrolet –z71 in full. At that point the loan was paid in full the title was mailed to my insurance company and I received a copy of the document disclosing that the lien in favor of gmac had been satisfied. Shortly thereafter I started receiving phone calls from collections and invoices that there was an additional $103.20 still due.

In august of 2009 and october of 2009 we have bought two 2009 chevrolet-z71. At this time I am furious with the outcome and the way I have been treated. I feel that I have been discriminated against and that gmac being such a large company does not care about their customers. I have been harassed by gmac collections I have given gmac proof of the documents that prove that the loan is paid in full. I did not request the payoff and never received the title.in reference to the investigation I demand and explanation as to why the airbags did not deploy and a guarantee that there is nothing wrong with the airbags on the two new chevrolet’s. At this point I have contacted an attorney and will press charges against gmac if my credit is affected by the incompetence of the finance department. If I had it to do over again I do not think I would have purchased two new chevrolet’s and would have preferred to go with a different company altogether.

It was a miracle that my son walked away from the accident with minor injuries. If the outcome would have been different I would have already filed a lawsuit against gmac. I am not asking for the world I am asking that I be treated with respect and common courtesy.

I am attaching documentation as to the payoff and the investigation. I would appreciate someone to take a look at my situation and give me the courtesy of a full investigation with legitimate answers.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] payoff of vehicle being financed by another party

I had a deal with a private party to purchase my buick that wasn't paid off. We went to the purchasers credit union so gmac could get their payoff check and the purchaser could finance the auto for the balance owed. This was 12/08/2009. The c. U. Lady and I both talked to the gmac rep, she, to explain what we were doing and i, having my name taken off of the account. The check was sent, I gave the man the car a couple days later and I thought I was done with it. About 2 weeks later I started getting calls from gmac wanting my next payment. I always asked for my call to be monitored for quality assurance so there may be a record. I got calls that I addressed daily! I rationally explained the situation daily! A couple weeks went by and I went to this credit union to ask why I was getting these calls. C. U. Lady talked to someone and they agreed to stop payment on the payoff check and re-issue a new one. The c. U. Lady gave me the check that was made out to gmac for me to mail, which I promptly did! Wierd! During my daily calls from gmac, I explained what was going on. One day finally, a gmac person told me that yes, they recieved the check, to which I replied "yay!"! About 2 hours later another gmac person called me and said that the payoff amount was now about $170 more! So, at this point the vehicle is still in my name! The c. U. Let me know that what I need to do was to get with the purchaser of the vrhicle and meet at the c. U. And do the transaction all over again! And I am the one to pay the $170ish. Gmac is threatening my credit over this whole deal. I did nothing wrong! I sold the vehicle because I lost my job and can't afford it. Anyway... I called jimmy gray chevrolet, last week, where I bought the car and talked to their finance guy to sree if I needed to go in another direction. He said he'd tell his boss and he may or may not call me back. I called him again today and he never called me back! I was contactewd by the purchaser and he verified that i'm to go to the 1st south c. U. Friday and pay $170ish and the c. U. Will issue another check with the new payoff amount. I do not see where I owe any money! As far as I care, the deal was done on 12/08/09 and I was releived of any further dealing with all of these people! Now they are messing with my good credit! I'm hating the business right now! I will never finance a car again!

To put it nicely, gmac ’s customer service sucks! I have been locked out of my account on numerous occasions and the only explanation they can give me is “well it looks like you entered the correct information; however, we will have to reset your password…again”. Wtf? And don’t try calling unless you have about 2 hours of your life you feel like pissing away.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] loan modification

In june 09, we contacted gmac mortgage to apply for a loan modification. We submitted out required paperwork and hardship letter explaining that my wife was laid off and we lost half of our monthly gross income. Gmac responded back with a loan modification that would reduce our mortgage by less than $50. We contacted them back and the person we spoke with could explain how they can to a $50 reduction when we lost half of our monthly income. A week later we were contacted by a very rude representative that tried to strong arm us into accepting the modification. We explained we didn't understand and would someone contact us who could explain. We were never contacted so we got an attorney. Once they attorney got involved, gmac sent us another modification amount that was still not helpful. So our attorney inquired about the government programs and we were told that since we didn't accept the first offer, less than $50 reductions, we no longer qualify for a government program and we either take the second offer, their bank program, or they will move to foreclosure procedures.
We never accepted or decline the first offer we wanted someone to explain to us how they can to the $50 reduction of our mortgage when we lost half of our income when my wife was laid off.
Gmac recieved a lot of money from the government and are unwilling to work with their customers. A $50 reduction is not going to help us and their refusal to allow consumers the government loan program is terrible and unfair. We will most likely lose our home because we only have half the income now and we were forced to take a modification that will not help us.
Can we get support from anyone out there? Can we sue gmac for bad business practice and their strong arm tactics and unwillingness to help consumers after they've recieved bailout monies?

My wife and I just filed six complaints against GMAC Mortgage, Three with State reps in the State of Washington, BBB of Iowa, Attorney General of the state of Washington and the Attorney General of the US. GMAC is nothing more than Mortgage Nazi's. They told us to get help with the Housing Education Project then submit the information for our modification. They then modified our loan using old account information and then admitted not using the information we put together through HEP! (Lauren Costill is great!) Our Payment now is higher than before? What, thanks Nazi's now I can re-default. Oh just an FYI they don't return calls, lie like a politician, have no answers for anything, had the balls to make a fake payment (nobody there can explain how it got there or who made it) as well as changing our payment date and loan terms without notification to us! Clinton Harris at [protected] ext.8746915 provides excellent Customer-NO--Service. This company received billions in Federal money. Time for a lawsuit!

i am trying to get somewhere with gmac with a loan modification.. the day that the forms were online from them i filled them out and sent them in (middle of april). of course they claim they got the packet on may 18. no one has called and ive now called them twice. the last time they hung up on me!my second mortgage company is sls and we did the modification over the phone with the paperwork now on the way for me to sign. my payment with them went from 985 interest only to 614 interest only. for some reason their people are interested in what the president wants done however gmac doesnt care at all! they cant make cars and they cant process paperwork----great company! now if anyone would like this home in florida that i paid 460, 000 for in 2006 let me know----it is worth about 250, 000 now!

My husband was laid off October 2008. I called GMAC Mortgage for a loan modification only be asked to jump through numerous of hoops. They make it so hard to get approve. I sent in requested documents 5 different times and they still have not approve us. GMAC have attached all kinds of hidden fees on top of our hardship. They put us on a re-payment plan but the money we paid on that plan was not being applied to the past due balance. GMAC Mortgage is a real joke! There is a special spot in hell for all that work for the company! I HATE THIS COMPANY!

Gmac sold my house out from under me cause the filed bankruptcy. First they raised my mortgage twice, and then refused to take any payments from me once they filed bankruptcy. I have payed on my house for three years and they sell it to a company who will only let you rent houses from them...I was told that it was a upside down mortgage and they were ordered to sell it. What about all the money I have paid on my house? If I knew about during them I would. If anyone can help me please let me know.

We have been trying to get a loan modification with GMAC for over a year and a half. We sent over 6 home affordable modification applications to GMAC with the same responses for the first few which was, "we never received it." Even after sending the applications by FedEx with proof of delivery, same response. Our 7 years balloon mortgage contract ends this September2010, so now they are saying, I do not qualify for HAMP because it's too close to the end of our contract. Bull! We talked to HOPE NOW counsel program and they told us AND GMAC, by two conference calls between the counsel representative, GMAC and me letting GMAC know that we DO qualify and made it sound like they understood and will help with their own re-modification program. WRONG! A week later, we got the same letter of, we do not qualify because of the contract. They are just pushing us closer to the end so they think can they get us to reset the original loan. We can not afford either paying off the mortgage or reset to the old contract. GMAC stinks! They don't care, they just want our money, not our business.

GMAC is the worst..we have been dealing with them for over a year..when we call..they want to know if we can catch the loan up to date..well sure no problem..we all have 30, 000 just waiting..STUPID..if I had that kind of money I wouldnt be dealing with you...we have gotten the run around...police showed up at our home with foreclosure papers..two trips to the court house...and still they want more copies ..and more copies of the same stuff..but nothing..we just want to get on with our life..and please do not take my home..this whole program is a SCAM...if you see Obama's name on anything RUN..or you will be in danger of losing your home..this is not a program to help anyone...TRUST ME..its a JOKE..and then we found out that after a year of dealing with them..all of this is in house...they have not even tried for the Obama money...Some one please explain...Just put the money we owe at the end of the loan and...let me just start making our payments..forget this ..This has been a nightmare in the worst kind. Why take my house..there are houses all around us for sale..no one can buy anything..but they do not care about you...RUN..SCAM..

I feel your stress, we also started our application back in 2008, the first phone call we got, they told us we were being put on a three month trial and to skip one payment and then to make three payments with a $22.00 reduction from our regular payment, then three months after we receive a letter stating we were being denied due to our request, which was totally incorrect, so they asked us to reply and then we found out we did not qualify due to not making our payments on time, when we feel behind per their request, and the reduction they made on our payment for the three month trial, now we have to pay interest on. We got desperate and went through liberty law firm, and when we made the appointment to go see them they told us they would not charge us unless the modification was approved, once we sat down with the agent it turns out the person giving that information was no longer employed there and when we were ready to walk out, they convince you that the modification will be approved, waited a month and they did nothing but take $1200 from us, the government should have assigned a team to assure that the banks do what they are suppose to do, they take advantage of us who have worked so hard to purchase our home, Washington should have someone to help us.

Here is a letter I just emailed, sent and faxed to Our President Obama. It reflects the similar situations I have read all through this complaint page! Come On It Screams Class Action. We need to do something!

Mr. Obama, I am going to let you know a little about myself then my husband. Then I am going to tell you how all your loan modification programs are not being followed how the big banks are in RESPA violations and how they do not seem to follow your instructions. Leaving us homeless after fighting for the last 10 months to have our loan modified and our payments lowered, and finally how it was sold on May 18th leaving us essentially homeless. Shame on somebody but no one knows whose fault it is!
I am a 50 year old female this year who has worked hard labor all my life. From the Oilfields to Driving Semis to finally working in a Phosphate Mine where I was injured on the Job. 10 Years with no accidents, the accident of which I speak was deemed not my fault. I was fired as the outcome because my Doctor at the time would not release me. Nice Isn't it. I sustained severe nerve damage rendering me unable to lift, sit or stand for more than an hour at a time. I have to lay down on the couch after doing any activity, on my back for at least two hours. Which is where you will find me most of the time. Nice existence would you say? I use to be a very strong person until this accident. My job entailed carrying one bucket of ore in each hand up forty two stairs for twelve hours. Piece of cake until I was hurt on the job. Now I guess you could say I am as close as an invalid as you can come with out being in a wheel chair. I am being sued for twenty six thousand of medical bills as the Ins. I had was cancelled as was the workers comp when I was fired. Also Nice Isn't It!? Oh and let me not forget to tell you that I have a 16 year old boy who is excelling in his High School. He is an Honor student with a 4.0 GPA. His Senior year will be next year and he has already compleated almost a full year year of College credits. What do you suppose will happen to this young man and his future because of all these events leaving us homeless? Something I am sure you will never experience. We should never have had to either if your wonderful programs really worked. Where is the enforcement for such programs?
Now my husband Donald E. Long was a Vietnam Vet. He has two purple harts a silver star and was offered the medal of honor of which he refused because when he came back from fighting for our Country full of Shrapnel, missing one lung and having an eye which he will never see out of right again! Why, Let me tell you because he laid in a rice patty swamp for twelve days while his eye lay on the side of his cheek. He came home and was treated worse than most people treat their dogs! That did not detour him. He lifted his head up high and went to work. He has ran every piece of equipment you can name. He has driven any truck you can mention. He has logged, worked in the log mills. He has ran the log skidders. Wages then wore horrible but the cost of living was not ten times higher than wages. Thus he survived. Now because of his age no one will even look at hiring him. Pretty nice is it not!? Now we come to the house issue. We bought this house in July of 2004. From GMAC with a VA Ryder. We were doing fine. I was working making four thousand a month (before Taxes). My husband made thirty thousand a year for a while. He was increased in salary up to the point of fifty two thousand a year. Then comes my accident. Bang loss of a several thousand a month income. Next we were called by a VA Rep. who told us our loan was being sold over seas and the interest rate was going to go up to twenty three percent so we should refinance and since Donald was a Vet. we would get a fixed interest rate of four and a quarter. We would not have to pay anything. We thought boy we had better do this or we will be in trouble. Well when it was all said and done we did get the refinance but the interest rate was six percent and they had tacked on another ten thousand dollars. There goes our Equity!
Not only that but when I went to make our first payment I had received no payment papers. I had no idea where to send the payment. I called GMAC and asked if they might know who bought our loan so I could pay. Guess what I was told? We still have your loan you need to keep sending it to us! Amazing isn't it? We knew we were not going to be able to make the extremely high payments. I put in for a hardship loan modification. I was denied, Why, ? because I was not behind. Well we are really struggling now. Again I put in for the modification. Again I was denied. We were not far enough behind. I then went to a loan modification Co. who submitted my modification. Again Denied. This time was because the bank decided we made too much money. Went through another Modification Co. Again Denied. This time because the bank said if I could pay a loan mod. Co. I could pay the payments. Is the picture getting clear to you yet? Tried it on my own two more times now we don't make enough money. Went to three more loan Mod. Co's, was denied again. Then my husband was laid off due to Our wonderful state of Economy! The last mod. co. took my money and never gave it back as their contract said they would. Now We are out that money! Went through one more to save our beloved home and property. The bank had a sale date. It was for April 24th. The lawyers got it postponed until the 18th of may. The bank was working our modification finally and we thought maybe we were going to be able to keep our home. Guess what? They by your federal law was not supposed to sale our home while working on our modification, they did. Sale went through at ten o'clock on May 18th. Where is the honor due to people who have nearly died to fight for our country? There is none. Where is the honesty in the big corporations now days? There is none! Oh the bank gave us two options. One I could have someone buy the home and rent it back to us. Like that is going to happen, unless maybe you will feel gracious enough to accomadate us as such. How about it, would you buy our house back and rent it to us? Or option nimber two is I can give them twenty thousand to re-instate us back on the loan then we can try the modification course all over again. What a bunch of BS. Come on Mr. Obama you are our Comander and Chief. You are giving billions of dollars away to other contrys for homeless. Try taking care of your own countrys people for a change. Have you ever thought there are people here who need their homes as well?
I realize that people who make the measly wages as we were making are nothing. I realize that people who work hard all their lives mean nothing. I realize that people who have fought for our country, almost died and came home is nothing. I realize these people are all treated as if they are nothing. But I would like to tell you that all these nothings are the reason people as yourself are where you are! You who keep putting out all these great programs to help Vets. To help people who are unemployed. Who are in great debt. Let me tell you Mr. Obama none of these are real. None of these WORK! I suppose If I were a minority, which by the way, it would seem these days the Caucasian is truly the minority I could get help. So I ask you, when do people who mean nothing get to recieve some help so they can in their retirement age at least have a home to call their own and at least a meager existence?
I would truly love to here your answers on this because we are now homeless. We are honest law abiding people whom I believe should be shown a little respect along with several other people in our United States with the simalier situation!

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] poor customer service

My mortgage payment is due on the 1st of each month. I received a several calls from GMAC's collections department several days after the 1st of the month telling me that they were going to take legal action against me for not making my payment on the 1st. I will openly admit that I have made my payments around the 1st through the 5th of the month (one payment on the 9th - OH NO!), but I have NEVER missed one payment! I'd like to know what type of legal action they really can do or is this some type of sick bullying?!? It is well known that a homeowner has until the 15th of the month to make their mortgage payment without any negative reporting. What kind of service is this? I'd hate to think what they do people that don't make their payments on time - come in with a SWAT team and kick you out in your underwear?

Same thing with us. They start calling us on the 4th. We've had our mortgage with them since 1997 and are never late, so when the phone calls start we get annoyed. But due to the way their business is going, we understand they're a bit antsy.
We didn't pay it much attention until we tried to buy a car on the 9th. Apparently GMAC reported that we were late on our mortgage for this very same month. First, our account was current and second, it's not actually late till the 15th (refer to your contract).
Beginning to wonder if they fudge their data so they can get more money from the government bailout. Terrible company!

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] mortage escrow

Despite more than 4 attempts now, gmac mortgage servicing refuses to provide an escrow analysis or provide a management personnel to resolve our problem. Our records show that gmac is withholding escrow dollars for paying our real estate taxes. They have finally answered in writing, simply stating that they are not withholding for taxes, even though the documents and amounts confirm that the amount they are withholding is well above the insurance amount required. They refuse to have a supervisor or manager get on the phone with us, or provide an escrow analysis that shows how much they are withholding, and for what. Our tax bill is over $4k, and due 12/31/09, yet they could care less about resolving it. I have sent yet another email today, and we will see if they even respond.

This has been the single worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Their call center is a joke, and is intentionally set up so that no one person is accountable regarding whether a caller gets an answer, or is left on hold for minutes (leading to hours) at a time. They also inform callers that "no supervisor is available." this is part of my final documentation before I go to the appropriate regulatory and better business bureau channels. I see from the other posts that this company routinely comes up, and obviously stopped caring about their "good" name long ago.

I am actually not upset with GMAC, but, I received a balancing of my escrow account and my homeowners insurance partically doubled! as well as increasing my monthly payment $80.00, I can put that into savings each month and get the interest in my name! I don't believe that GMAC needs it as much as I do, but after receiving my escrow statement I called my agent and he called back because it isn't due to renew until Nov. 2011 and it is not increasing! The taxes are actually going down! So I definitely am not paying any increase, since I am Family First and am retired and on a fixed income. Please adjust my payment accordingly. PS there is a cap on my taxes, so there shouldn't be any increase for awhile. I just deal with things as they come up "one day at a time".

Totally agree with Ken. GMAC owes me a disbursement refund of escrow they had been holding illegally (that's another story about this mafia). Now they claim the check is in the mail, and even updated my electronic statement to show such a lie. I have not received any such check, and they flat out refused to deposit the funds electronically into my checking acccount, the same account that I have allowed them to automatically deduct mortgage payments from every month. "Crystal" stated that it is against company policy for them to send customer refunds by any other means than the unsecured paper mail system, and it has to be sent in an untracked manner, no UPS, no Fed Ex, no proof it's ever been sent, etc. How convenient! and Ganster! I just wonder how many others they are stealing funds from, PLEASE CHECK YOUR STATEMENT ACTIVITY, you may find a disbursement that you never received.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] about paying for a car for nine years. I have goo payment history and was a couple months behind and they repoed my car

I am buying a car from sunrise chevorlet and I had the car since august 2007 I been paying on the car I was late on a couple of the payments over this summer I paid it up until september, when I was late on thoes payments I called and told them I was goning to pay it that next week that when I payed it up until september. Now I am off work until febuary 2009 but I just started to some income into my house hold. And I was about to send them a payment and they repoted my car. And another things is that they got me paying 343.15 a month on a chevy cobalt for nine years. I am going to be pay a little over 25, ooo dollar for a car that costed 13, 000 dollars for this car and I have goood credit they gave me a intrest of 11.9% I think something should be done about this. I even supposed to have the gm discount and they just gave me a 1, 000 dollar rebate. Which the discount from gm would have been better.

I am writing this to advise you of how disappointed I am in my recent purchase / lease of a 2010 camaro.

On or about oct. 29 2009 I had filled out multiple free on line quotes for a 2010 camaro.

Oct. 30 I had received a phone call from nate williams a sales man from miller chev. Asking about my recent inquiry.

I had informed nate that I had done my home work to purchase this type vehicle, I needed to put $10, 000.00 down to get a payment of $400.00 per month with 6.25 interest rate thru my bank, vt federal credit union worked out to $418. Ish per month. Based on a $35, 000.00 2ss

Nate replied if he could put me in that car for what I wanted to pay would I buy it, I said yes.

Made arrangements to go to miller on that saturday oct.31

So on that day my cousin and I went to miller.

After about 3 hrs nate and I had an agreement of $6, 000.00 down, $411.00 per month on a lease for 39 months and I could buy the car at the end of the lease for $18, 500.00

We shook hands I gave the dealer $1, 000.00 deposit and would return in about 1 week with $5000.00

On wednesday nov.4 I had left a message on nate's voice mail that I had the money in hand.

On thursday nov.5 I spook with nate and told him I had the $5, 000.00 and would be there to pick up the vehicle, nate replied everything was all set.

My cousin and I had arrived on friday nov. 6 the finance guy brings me into his office and says he couldn't do that deal because my credit score was to low.

So I reply oh no here it comes. He says no no this is what we will do, buy the vehicle $6, 000.00 down $574.00 per month. I refused, he says wait buy now don't pay for 45 day's and refinance in the spring. I told him that there wasn't any way I was leaving there with a payment like that forget it.

Then he says wait we will try the lease again, says worst case $455.00 per month $6, 000. Down buy the car at end of lease for residual value of $18, 230.00. This guy has me worried i'm not going to get the vehicle so I agree.

I take the vehicle home and 2 weeks later nov.19, I receive a call from nate says they had forgotten to collect $945.00 less a $15.00 error in the paper work, first month and security deposit, and also they needed to change a mistake on the fee for over mileage from 15 cents to 20 cents per mile.

I replied that wasn't the deal we had discussed. Nate replied that it had to be paid, I was quite ticked off, I could not talk about it and told nate I would call him another time on the issue.

That afternoon when I had gotten home from work I had called gm customer service, they told me that it was a lease matter.

I spoke to gmac they had told me that they had not received the contract yet and would have to honor what was on the contract.

So at this point I didn't really know what to do. I put in a call to the general manager at miller chev and left a voice mail stating there were some errors on the contract.

So on sat. Nov. 21, I put a call to nate, no answer leave voice mail stating maybe I need to give the vehicle back.

A couple hrs later I receive a call from a representative of the dealer, not sure who it was

So this guy says if I don't pay now it will show as default, also says sure I can give the vehicle back but will show as repossession.

So now I feel i'm stuck and agree he says drive down next week and he will wash and change oil plus fill the tank. This is a 1 and a half hr ride for me.

So I am still frustrated and upset don't want this car anymore its a big head ache. Nov. 24 09:50 I place a call to gm I don't want vehicle anymore, not happy with car, not happy the way it was handled. Get response that they cant do anything, I reply I want to talk to manager. Manager redirects my call to headquarters for the 60 day satisfaction guarantee, they will investigate and call me back.

Nov.25 miller chev calls and wants to absorb the $900. Plus and make it right.

I state I want to give the vehicle back and I had spoke with gm. This rep from miller replied the did not participate in that program and gm or some one had called miller.

Dec.1 I agree to miller to absorb $900 plus and they will send a driver with papers to sign. I inform that I get out of work at 16:00 and need to leave for home promptly.

At 15:40 no driver, I call they say we decided not to send because it is a 110 mile drive 1 way. They didn't even have the courtesy to call and let me know.

Dec.2 driver shows with new contract with old date (nov.6) and registration form to sign. I sign

Ok here's the kicker. Dec. 7 receive a call from miller saying the needed me to sign a paper that had been signed in the wrong place and want to send a driver, I agree

This driver shows up with another contract, another registration form and a bill of sale or something. I'm going over this contract and the residual value is different. I happen to read line 9 about my option to purchase at the end of lease for $20, 348.80. I call miller and spoke to david, he gives me a song and dance about they are loosing money on this car just so they can keep my payment at $455.00, not counting the $900 plus they had absorbed.

So they down right lied about me buying this car at residual from the beginning, they baited me and took advantage of my good nature and trust. I believed in what they had verbally told me. And by the way the 3rd contract still had the nov.6 date here it is dec.7 I signed contract but dated dec.7

They also told me they had sent the first contract to gmac a couple weeks after purchase, as of dec.2 gmac still had no record of this transaction. I had to send my first payment to ky. With the last 4 of my ssn and the vin #. I was afraid I would have been late on my first payment, not a very good start.

I believe if they were loosing money just to keep my payment as it is, they had no intention in leasing me this car at the original quote of $411.00 per month.

As far as the residual of $18, 230.00 to supposedly buy the vehicle at the end was to deceive me and I wouldn't find the truth for 36 months.

If I were to conduct myself in this manner at my job, I probably wouldn't have a job. I feel I was manipulated and deceived.

This is my first brand new car, let alone a muscle car I will keep untill I die at the tune of $40, 000.00. I grew up in the 70's, this was supposed to be a dream come true. That got ruined

This should have been one of the most exciting purchases for me to make, but no it's been frustrating, tiring and the most down right sucky experience I have ever encountered with a vehicle purchase. Also not to mention after the sale they don't return your phone calls unless they want something.

I bought a used 1998 monte carlo in 98 with 18, 000 miles, from handy chev.in saint albans vt. I have 240, 000 miles on it now, they had given me what they said they were going to. Best car I have ever had. I was a chevy guy my whole life. Now I guess maybe I should have bought a mustang or challenger.

To think I defended gm to volvo, audi, vw and others, to people that put down american auto's, buy american I say, that's the thanks I get. I get to tell these people about my experience. You know if you get a good deal somewhere, you tell people. If you get a bad deal you tell even more. This is an outrage, a complete lack of respect.

I bought a 2003 harley davidson in 2003, $21000.00 they to gave me what they had said, no surprises. I have kept a log on this experience so I would have back up. I will keep a copy of this in the camaro file I have.

I will probably send a copy of this to my congress man and higher up since not only my purchase dollars help you but my tax dollars as well.

Copy will go to better business burial, chamber of commerce, the state house, vt. And nh. White house. I will send this to the news papers in vt. Nh.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] lien release

I have been calling gmac for over a month at [protected]. The owner of the truck said the lien has been satified yet gmac will not send lien release that it has been satified or not. I feel that if dmv allows liens on vehicles then they should govern these lien releases and handled in a timely fashion. Coon's supply inc. Has been trying to get this cleared up but is getting nowhere either. If there's anything i can do please let me know. I need all the help i can get to get this cleared up. Thank you very much

Connie Cornish, of Gloria Nilson GMAC Real Estate in Monroe New Jersey, misrepresented her clients from who my parents were trying to buy from. At every twist and turn she kept delaying the deal saying that the owners, who were actually selling the home on behalf of their deceased parents, kept throwing up rediculous roadblocks and making arbitrary demands.

In truth, it was she who was delaying the deal because she wanted her own buyer so she wouldn’t have to split the commision. The sellers knew nothing about what she was doing. All the things they told my parents about what the sellers were doing and saying was a lie.

We wonder what nonesense she was telling them about my parents…that’s if she even really presented their offer to them.

My parents did find a place, but also lost a buyer for their house in the process and had to start over. They are going to file a complaint against her and also might file a lawsuit as well.

I have tried since March 1 to speak to someone other than customer service, since I cannot make my March 1 payment. Customer service gave me incorrect information as to who my acct person was and I spent two weeks, calling and leaving messages, faxing a message and then find out it was the wrong person. I have now been transferred to the right person for the last two weeks. Can't leave a voicemail, because their mailbox is full, I have faxed and emailed this person and there is no response. I am getting calls because I am late, I stay on the line, talk to customer service and then get transferred to a mailbox that is full again. How can anyone get any help. All I want is for a short sale package to be sent to me, which customer service said they would do a on March 3rd. Still haven't received it. I can sell but now without their help.

GMAC is NOT my insurance company but my car was hit and totaled by their insured. Person I dealt with was not well-trained and neglected to tell me vital information regarding the claim. I am in NY but was dealing people in NC and OH. The woman I spoke with in OH was unbelievably rude. Long story short they screwed me out of the salvage money for my vehicle because they were not doing their job/telling me necessary information. I have never dealt with such rude and ignorant people in my life. Carmella in the OH office should be fired. Looking to track down her supervisor to make a complaint.

my problem is that gmac or better sls is strong armimg my mother and I think that there stealing here money. Because in the last 6 months they have taken here for about 9000.00 dollers over what her e payment are and they keep on calling here and telling her that there going to forclose on here. And just the other day they told her that she has to pay a nother 3000.00 or there going to throw her out on the street shes 81 years old and she shouldent have to put up with this ### from theas people. PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP HERE OUT Thanks Bob Her Son

In early March, I looked up CD rates on Bankrate.com and decided to open an account with GMAC at the APY of 2.95%.

A week later, I still did not see the money transferred between my accounts so I called customer service. After we found out that a mistake had happened with the account number, the information was corrected and the service agent told me that I would still get the same rate that I originally signed up for.

In April, I received a letter from GMAC listing an APY of 2.85%. When I called customer serivce again, I was told that the rates at the time of deposit apply. Makes sense. But why would the customer service agent promise the same rate on my first call mid March?

I got a runaround on that question. Since the lady I spoke to back then had not documented her words, I have a lower APY now and learned that if you need reliable information, communicate through paper...

There is absolutely zero inter department communication and even worse customer service! I have submitted loan modification papers 3 times now on a second mortgage. They are the very same papers that were submitted for a loan modification on the first mortgage that got through on the first try. It seems that they get a new part of the modification paper work every time, but never the complete package that has been confirmed sent! Their customer service personnel are the rudest, over talking, least helpful people I have ever delt with! I would rather deal with customer service in India for Dell! If you ever have an option Please use another mortgage company!

After calling and getting through finally I was told that the last payment of certain amount will be taken on 11-08-09 by Direct Debit. This was all done. We were waiting for final statement, instead received a statementfor the last year only asking a staement closing balance. Nobody mentioned this before and why GMAC cant take this payment by DD is very puzzling. Any way after waisting and waiting for 1hr and 40 minutes in total we made the payment and even then the adviser over the phone kept saying "you have to get clearance". All I asked was a letter saying that we have paid it all and end of contract. Ofcourse we do not expect high standard of service from GMAC for thanking us for our custom as we received from Mercedes Benz when we finish their payments.But there was no telling this to adviser, she kept repaeting the same thing... An absolute shame to the company. Dam them...

The mortgage company created it's own policy regarding flood insurance and purchased without my permission excess coverage in both building and, contents. This increased my payment in an excess of an additional thousand dollars for the contents alone! I have been trying to recover the money I have lost due to their actions. No supervisor has rectified this problem and it is near a year since they caused the trouble. My escrow was thrown off and they wanted an additional $1300 to place in the escrow account. I have heard the company intends to reverse the policy which caused this money trouble for me, meaning, they will follow the federal regulations regarding flood insurance that are already in place. I want my money back. They took the authority under false pretenses, one that I had to comply with their policies when their policy did not comply with federal law.

The Customer Service representatives have no understanding of what their job description implies, and the company is the WORST I had to deal with when it comes to leasing a veichle.
I am trying to extend my Saab lease for three month (which is a possibility offered by contract!) and they are making the whole process impossibly complicated. It seems like they are doing me a favor, when is actually the other way around.
I will not lease another car with gmac EVER!
I agree with another consumer that suggested a class action against them.

Represented that they would intensely market my timeshare properties. Although I paid them, they have never offered any proof of the marketing. Several attempts have been made to obtain the info: mail, phone calls, e-mails, faxes. They stall and play games--claim my correspondence wasn't received; the fax machines is down; don't return phones calls; can't get through to anyone--just a voice greeting at every menu option; have moved their business twice (thus my mail to them has been returned as 'undeliverable' etc.).

Much to my surprise I’ve recently discovered that GMAC SmartLease has changed the way they treat their lease customers. Someone ought to hire a lawyer; this may even qualify for class action status. I can hardly wait to reveal their indiscretions but first let me explain why I feel that I am qualified to discuss this issue.

I have been involved in some capacity in the retail automobile business since 1964. I retired in 2007, so I can safely say that I have 43 years exposure to the car business. I have always been involved in the General Motors business. I have been a Salesperson, a Sales Manager, a Finance Manager, a General Sales Manager, a General Manager, and a Dealer/Owner. I feel that I have some idea of what I am talking about.

Now the Story……………

Since the 70’s I have arranged retail leases using GMAC as the leasing company. I have even leased several for my personal use. In each of my personal leases I have sold or traded my vehicle prior to the end of the lease. It was simple, I would call GMAC SmartLease and they would tell me the payoff. If the vehicle was worth more than I owed, I would sell it to a dealership (often my own) and they would pay me for my equity. Suddenly GMAC SmartLease has changed their program. What has changed is how GMAC SmartLease has decided to interpret the early termination language of their contract.

“If it was worth more than I owed, I would sell it to a dealer and they would pay me for my equity.”

Currently I am leasing a 2007 GMC Acadia. There are only a few payments remaining and the lease will be complete. When I called GMAC SmartLease to inquire as to the payoff, they gave me a figure that appears to be correct. (Residual value plus remaining unpaid payments less unearned interest.) The new change that GMAC SmartLease has incorporated into their business plan is that if anyone other than me were to pay this lease off, GMAC SmartLease wants them to pay approximately $5000.00 more than my payoff. This means that if I were to drive into a GM dealership (or any dealership GM or Non-GM) and work out a new lease or purchase, using my Acadia as a trade in, there would be a $5000 penalty assessed against me for me trading early. I consider myself lucky because I understand that this is really a GRAB on the part of GMAC SmartLease. I am able to protect my self in this situation but I wonder how many unsuspecting people have allowed this sort of thing happen to them. I bet that during the past several months or years there have been hundreds if not thousands of GMAC SmartLease customers who have been taken advantage of. This can not be a good thing.

I wonder if GMAC SmartLease realizes that they are compromising future business. Why would anyone want to ever do business with a company that evokes arbitrary practices designed to take advantage of the public. I like GM vehicles; I did have Cadillac at the top of my list of new cars to consider. However, now I wonder if I can ever force myself to drive a GM vehicle again.

Is this a good long term business practice? Will GM survive with their financial arm attempting to take unfair advantage of customers? A very smart man who coached and trained me in the early years of my career taught me the following:

1) Is it the TRUTH?
2) Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

I think not.

Graduate Management Admission Council [GMAC] no wonder they went bankrupt!

Been with GM for 15+years. We needed to extend our lease. Called GMAC to see what was entailed. Seemed simple. They would send us lease extension paperwork in the mail, sign and return with a check. The extension payment by the way was $60 more than my original payment. 10 days and nothing. Call, no record of anything in their computer. They will send the paperwork. 7 more days and still nothing. Call yet again expressing our concern over negative reporting to credit bureaus and that we are tired of chasing them to give them their money! 6 more days go by and still nothing. Ordering a new GM vehicle. The Manager of the dealership requests a fax of lease extension paperwork directly to his office as well as a buyout amount of my original lease. They cannot give him any information about my lease without a mileage and inspection report AND the signing of the lease extension and payment. Mind you now I am 23 days into my first lease extension and need a second lease extensionwhile waiting for the delivery of my new vehicle. GMAC informs us that they cannot send a fax now that they need 48 hours! They cannot send the second extension paperwork until the first is signed and returned with payment! 4 more days, and the dealership finally gets the fax! We drive there to sign the paperwork and write them a check. Request the second extension and again they need 48 hours. 16 days later we finally get the fax and write them another check. Oops the dealership forgot to have us sign the paperwork, and they cannot process it. They harass us on a Saturday about signing. When we return the call to the number left on our machine, it turns out they are not even open Saturday.(after Thanksgiving) I had $1500 in bonus cash on my GM card towards my new vehicle and they limited me to $1000, so the original payment was increased by $15 per month. Wrote a check for $500 to pay the difference to keep the payment at our agreed amount. Bought the new Gm car signed all the paperwork INCLUDING the lease turn in paper for my original lease. Today, Got a letter FED X delivery. Dated november 28 ( A Saturday) stating that they were expecting my lease to be returned on October 27th. Apparently they didn't process the second lease extension although my check was cashed in a New York minute! They are going to use any action that the law allows to to take posession of the vehicle at our cost! What a fu**ing joke! It is sitting at the dealer lot where we just bought another $40, 000 GM car! Mabey if they kept their customer service department in AMERICA they would be able to provide the proper customer service. This is the LAST GM vehicle we will be buying! By the way we were so pissed we wanted to pay off my husbands truck loan with GMAC. When we called for the payoff, they said it would take the magic 48 hours, but that if we wanted them to calculate it manually it would only take 2 hours! NO wonder they went BANKRUPT. I believe they will be back to square one before you know it with this kind of business practice!
