Review updated:

It was a few days before thanksgiving, and we went out to the store to pick up about 5 cans of glory mustard greens. The night before thanksgiving, my mom opened a can of the greens... Poured them in the pot... And to her horror, a huge dead grasshopper to the bottom of the can. He landed in the pot with the rest of the greens! We went online and contacted the company, looked at the ingredients, and read about their special seasonings an secret spices... Didn't know on that particular occasion it included dead grasshoppers! They sent us a gift basket full of their products, coupons, and oh, yeah, more greens! We've never bought from them again.

Seems grasshoppers are common in canned greens, I thoughtit was a dragonfly. I love Glory Greens, but the reason I buy canned is to avoid washing & cleaning fresh greens, oh well...no more canned for me.

Two days ago I purchased I Can of glory green beans. Heated them up and my son And I tasted one. Heated them again then I started making plates ... found a big red half bodied bug with legs. Contacted the glory’s complaint line and Ms. asked was it a grasshopper or beetle... why the hell does it matter... she made it seem like it was normal. If that’s the case they should add (bugs included) on the label. Smh. I am waiting for a call back

No i wouldnt want the company to go out of business but if your getting so many complaints you have to do a better job with removing bugs. My find was out of a can and not a bag of greens. You wouldnt think that you would have to search through a can of greens before you eat it. Fresh greens yes! I think ill lay of the canned greens for a while. Fresh greens that way if i find anything itll be because i failed to find it during cleaning them. For the person that said everyone complaining are idiots, i ask you this. Do you think its okay to go to a restaurant and find a bug in your dinner? I dont see a difference between the two because its a service thats being provided to a customer and its the companies job to make sure they provide the best service to you. Yes it was kind of them to send a basket and all but do you really think someone wants some more greens after finding a bug in a previous can? Hell naw! Lol We just want them to do better.

Today is june 7, 2016 and my girlfriend cooked us some food n packed me some glory collard greens. She brought it to me and asked me if it was a bug. To my surprise it was the shell of a grass hopper. Wing, torso, and one leg. Well.. what happened to the rest of it? I honestly think one of us may have consumed it. This disgusted the heck out of the both of us. So i looked up complaints today to see if anything else came up and sure enough, all of these posts came up. Something has to be done about this! I love greens and if the company wont address this matter i will. Word of mouth goes a long way and so does media.. this is a pic of my food. Well it didnt let me put the picture on here for some reason

Wow! I just purchased two cans of Glory Spinach from a Wal-Mart's in Georgia. After my oldest daughter and I ate, my youngest daughter fixed her plate and discovered the head of an insect, which by the way, we could not identify. After researching with my friends, we discovered it was that of a grasshopper. I did contact corporate, and I they offered to do was refund me my money. I have never been a huge fan of canned vegetables, but this incident validates why I choose fresh or frozen veggies. How is this company allowed to continue to operate serving grasshoppers and NO ONE seems to care. Whose palms are these owners greasing? My friends are all posting this on social media. Maybe the CEOs of McCall Farms will finally take notice. If grasshoppers are the "secret" ingredient then at least disclose it, and let consumers make a choice of whether they would like to purchase these products. McCall Farms (Glory Food and Margaret Holmes) products have left a bad taste in my mouth.

I found a small hard piece of blue twisted plastic in my Glory Collard Greens. My wife reported it. This is alarming. I could probably understand a bug in my greens a little better than something that looks like it came from the inside of a radio. Glory seemed contrite according to my wife.

I found a big red grasshopper leg in my Walmart Collard Greens a couple of months ago. I came online to see how common it is to find sites like this. After all the sites I've read, I've come to the conclusion that grasshoppers must really like greens, and that the FDA allows us to eat a whole lot of aphids, maggots, and other bugs in our food. So, I've decided that they won't do more than make me gag if I find one, and I appreciate not having to hand wash and chop and cook my greens every time. So I'll continue to buy greens and just look through them good.

I bought two cans of Glory Greens to cook for New Year's day 2015. As I sat down to eat with my husband and children, I noticed something hard and disgusting in my mouth. It was a small brown leaf wedged together in my collard greens. This was the final straw for me. I will NEVER buy from Glory Foods again! They obviously dont care enough about the people who eat their food to make sure the product is cleaned well. This company should be sued, investigated, and taken off the shelves.

I honestly cant blame you guys for being upset. But I was raised to check canned food before and while cooking & to wash & clean produce and meats thoroughly. Just saying stuff happens and while the complaints are notable its the risk you take buying canned instead of fresh vegetables/foods. Atleast it wasnt some kind of animal part. Bugs are normal...

Today I had a rude awakening while I prepare Easter dinner for my family. I bought two bags of glory mustard greens from Ultra Foods. I was picking and rinsing off some greens and alive green grasshopper pop out. I was so scared and shaken up I ran. Literally.. I don't like bugs and to see it in my food I was about to cook. I couldn't believe what I saw and I was sick to my stomach. I have kids and this is a serious health hazard. I will never eat glory products again. As I researched, grasshoppers and frogs was found in glory food products. I've noticed it's been too many complaints and it's time to put a end to this and shut them down for serious health reasons.

Cooked two large (27oz) cans of seasoned turnip greens on new years day. Sat down to eat and my son was about to put fork in his mouth and found a large grasshopper! Most of us have already ate ours! Needless to say whole dinner was ruined ! I spent the rest of the day commuting! This company will be hearing from us!

I just threw away at least half of my 2 bags of glory foods turnip green due to large stems (see pic). This is not the first time and I will never buy them again. It seems their new business plan is to sell stems not greens

You are all idiots! Its an agricultural product. It comes from a field. You can't honestly believe that an insect has never touched a product that was grown outdoors. Maybe instead of posting ignorant rants online you should do a little research on what you are complaining about in the first place. A company goes out of there way to send you product, coupons, and a gift basket and then you want to come online and bash them. Glory Foods did not have to send anything! Try that with any other company and you will be lucky to get a coupon. It's people like you that think that someone owes you something for nothing that make the world the rest of us live in a difficult place. Keep running American Companies names in the dirt, maybe not in your generation but with this type of attitude it won't be long before all of the little companies are closed for making honest mistakes and going above and beyond to try to make situations right. And you can get all of your food from another country and call them up with your stupid issues. If you can find someone that speaks decent English lets see how many gift baskets they send you. People only understand the word accident anymore unless they are the ones making the mistake. How ignorant can you be to belive that the company doesnt try thier best to make sure these things don't happen. I'm sure there is someone sitting around adding grasshoppers to your food to see if it will make you mad so that ultimately they can send out gift baskets and such to make it right, unlimately costing their company 100 times more than the original product sent, just to have you turn around a run their name in the dirt.

You really need to learn the definition of the word mistake, one yes understandable but thousands something is not being done to prevent the same mistake from happening. Something needs to be improved upon. It's not like they cannot afford to step up their inspection of greens, whether it's doing an extra washing or inspecting before cooking to ensure bugs are not present in the food we purchase that has made them richer than rich. So tell us we don't have a right to complain about something that is nasty and unclean. What about someone that may have a bug allergies, what about them, they don't have say. I started not to respond but I needed to let you GOD and you should not call people names just because you may not agree with what they say but they do have a right to say what they feel just like you. God bless you if you are still alive to read this.

Just opened a can of Glory Foods Seasoned Southern Style Mixed Greens (Code on lid M1x GA K 24 AK) There is so much grit in them they are uneatable. You would think you were eating them out of sand on a beach.

We found an insect leg of some sort in our greens...after reading your posts, I came to the conclusion that it's a grasshopper leg...DISGUSTING. I called the company and left a voicemail since it's after business hours. This happened today, May 30, 2012...still happening after two years, Glory needs to get it together because this is ridiculous!

We just found a bug in our Greens on Sunday October 2, 2011. I was in the middle of cooking Sunday dinner and it was on top as I opened the can. I am sorry to say I will never eat them again at least from Glory. I love the Greens but I would rather do without the bugs in them. I am very disappointed in Glory and would like to see what they are doing to prevent something like this happening again. Very disappointed . . . very disappointed

Unfortunately, all canned food companies are prone to those kind of problems. It's fantastic that Glory responded personally and with product, coupons, etc. Not sure you would have gotten that from other companies.
