BEWARE BEFORE CONSIDERING GOING TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY! Any and all sales reps should take heed before going all the way to Phoenix to be trained and then robbed by Global Tranz. They lure you in with a promising profit split and then get you to the office, train you for 3 days which are full of promising profits and riches, then...at the end of the seminar they call you each in one by one and via peer pressure try to get you to sign their contract on the spot. They tell you that you get a 60/40 split on LTL and a 50/50 split on truckloads but don't bother to tell you until you read the fine print of your contract that you have to pay a 2.5 % invoicing fee on gross revenue as well as a 2% CSR fee that goes towards having someone at their office answer your phone calls and track your freight.
DO THE MATH! If you have a shipment with a profit of 100.00 you would expect to make 60.00. However, let's say the profit margin of the shipment was 20% and total charge of shipment to customer was 500.00.
Take the 2.5 % invoicing charge out of 500.00 = 12.50
Take the 2.0% CSR Fee out of the 500.00= 10.00
These two fees come directly out of your profit!!!
Total deductions for sending an invoice and having a CSR - 22.50. (By the way the CSR basically does nothing because your customer can quote and print BOLS and track online without any help at all).
Subtract 22.50 from 60.00 and you get= 37.50 from Global Tranz.
SO! Your average profit split for doing all the work and spending your money paying for your phone, car and gas bills will be at best 37.50. It is even worse for truckloads because you only get 50 percent profit before all the deductions.
I signed on with Global Tranz in early 2009 and have been trying to make it work ever since. I have quoted over 120 truckloads to prospective customers and have only won 7 loads. This was done by only adding 10% per shipment as opposed to Global Tranz suggested 20% starting quote mark up. The LTL rates are good but they rob you on your profit split. Their truckload rates are horrible based on my 120 quotes.

GlobalTranz is overcharging on 100% of the invoices I got from them. I ran the fuel surcharges and found that they are over by 4% on average. Since I am an agent, they are stealing from me.

| i am a agent of globaltranz...you guys are complete fools...if you look in the system you see the cost (BILL) from carrier. GlobalTranz doesnt steal any fuel surcharge...if you guys moved any shipments you would know there is an adjustment report..morons. |

If you look in the system you really CAN see the cost (BILL) from the carrier and if you quote it in carrierrate under the sales admin "request quote" where you are supposed to see what the shipment costs gtz, you will see that they are not giving the shipments to their agents at their true cost.
The adjustment report is a joke! I am still having shipments "adjusted" from early 2009!
I don't think upper management set out to become evil monsters when they began this, but they are definitely the most greedy group of people I have ever worked with! And whomever thinks that Mike L. is in the drivers seat there needs to looks more closely into the company they work for, the CFO has changed twice within the last month.They hired a new guy as CFO for a few days, then they put him in some other position and now there is another new seven year old boy sitting in the CFO position.It's all public info, look it up. |

| I would guess that the system that is in place cost a lot initially and to operate now. I've been involved with the LTL industry for a very long time. If I could average about $37.50 for every order, that would be geat. Do the math. With only six shippers with and average of six shipments a day at the above profit for 25 shipping days is $33, 750. So, if you could average 900 to 1000 shipments per month that is $405, 000 or more per year. Now, that is a larger than expected average for most but that is kind of the point. It's the sales and leg work getting this average higher and higher. You could do well getting 15 to 20 customers who could average 15 shipments a week with decent margins. |

| I honestly have no idea how you can complain about GlobalTranz. They handle everything for you (invoicing, bad debt, claims, customer service, etc.) and they only take half the margin. If you are even reasonably good at selling and have a decent book of business, then you stand to make a great profit. I am a franchise owner and I couldn't imagine being in a better situation. It sounds like the ones that are complaining are the ones that couldn't cut it!! |

| Considering becoming a GlobalTranz agent...I would love to talk to other agents out there about their real experiences. Please post any comments regarding GlobalTranz, but also your company name so I can research you as well. I hate trying to weed through comments that may have no actual knowledge of how GlobalTranz operates and pays. |

| I am a GTZ agent - I live in the midwest and am a top 5 owner. The adjustment report gives you back the Fuel Surcharge that is inflated in the request quote calculator. They inflate it for 2 reasons. First, it changes every Tuesday, so they only change it once a month and keep it inflated to make sure there is no loss because of inflation. Second, all of you shitty agents out there are so weak as sales people, that you walk through the door and put the min profit acceptable - 15% when if you just built a relationship, actually got some competitive data and priced correctly you could increase your margins. I don't take any stock in what these people are saying because I have been been an owner for 2.5 years and am making over 200k per year now. Is GlobalTranz perfect? no - are Andrew and Michael Leto perfect? no, but they have created something that is easy to sell and then they take care of everything else. They have created a better opportunity than my previous employer (Unishippers) and anyone else out there. Seriously try to look at software, GlobalTranz are innovators that have created a TMS platform, Unishippers and all of the other 3pl's out there use the out dated software called Mercury Gate. The people that are complaining are the ones that thought they were sales people, but just losers that can't hack it. |

| Global Tranz is now hiring 5 account managers every 2 weeks in the Prescott Valley, AZ call center which I think is a new operation. They are also doing the training in PV now. Does anyone know if things have changed for the better or do they just have lots of turn over? |

GlobalTranz really over promises and under delivers to their agents and customers. I recognized through the orientation that their whole goal is to steal agents from other more reputable firms and bring the business over to globaltranz.
CSR or Customer Service Representative really does nothing for the agent other then take their commission. They may do 10% of the work that is required of them then they pass it back on the agent. And god forbid there is a question on a load or a rebill. My customers always complain about the CSR or customer service department never picking up the phone, calling back or returning e-mails.
So you as an Agent for GlobalTranz is left hanging in the wind if you have any issue at all with a re-bill or any issue. GlobalTranz will expect you to eat any loss of your customer to make your customer happy.
Overall on a scale of 1-10 I rate GlobalTranz a 3 for overall performance. They just don't care about you as an agent unless you are coming over with a huge book of business. |

| I am a carrier, who has completely disconnected from Global Tranz. We were doing about $8, 000.00 a month in business with this company; which is a significant amount of business for us. However, it takes them TWO months to send a check to cover only some of the invoices. It is almost October and I still have invoices from early June that are outstanding. When we try and collect this money, no one seems to be accountable. The agents should be aware of this, I doubt I am the first carrier to jump ship due to this problem. What is extremely frustrating is that all the people at Global Scamz like to talk about is how great they are doing, and how they are expanding rapdily. If they are doing so well, why can't they pay their bills??? What makes a 3PL great is the pool of carriers that they have to choose from, along with a great discount from them. Global Tranz lost this carrier, making their service capabilities that much more limited. |

| there are other 3pls out there that offer fair profit splits...but you guys are all locked in to your contracts...they will sue you if you try to go to work for another 3pl...catch 22...they are thieves and liars and i would not wish them upon my worst enemy. |

| this is a scam company Mike Leto is a a-hole, there customer service sucks, they dont pay you when they should there customer service and management stay 2-3months...save yourself a headache and join a real 3pl company. NOT GLOBAL SCAM |

| I used to work at the Prescott Valley office, what a joke, the turnover rate is ridiculous. They make all these promises of riches and yet you bust your ass calling people all day, sometimes you get something, sometimes you don't. but if you don't they managers assume its you that is the problem. the other thing is that you can get an account from a former employee (like i did) and with it comes all the problems that no one told me about, even though they were well aware of it. apparently it was my job to also figure out the accounting issues and the claim issues, isn't that what the accounting and claims department is for?! The managers there are a joke, the head honchos son works there so he reaps all the benefits without actually having to do any work. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM! it is a waste of time, you're treated like shit, you can't get help on anything because well the managers are just too busy (yah thanks to my manager Trena, she was too busy bitching about her ugly ass haircut rather then helping me figure out a difficult shipment i've never done before, the bitch doesn't know her ass from a hole in the wall) |
