Global Royalties Ltd The real story

My name is Geoff Black. I have been made aware of all this nonsense and feel compelled to respond. I was an employee for 5 wonderful years before leaving to open my own company. I did this with my own money and hard work. I guess I could expect the attempts of others to discredit me. David is not my employee and to the best of my knowledge was employed elsewhere until recently. If you have any questions or concerns I would be happy to speak with you and co operate in anyway I can. I enjoyed working with all clients during my time there and am sure they are confused. Please be mindful I left over a year ago and am not privy to the inner dealings with my former company. Best regards, Geoff

Global Royalties Ltd Selling overpriced jewelry

I purchased two pieces of jewelry from Global in 2006 with the understanding that they would appreciate 15% to 20% per year. Over the years they claimed that they were aggressively marketing the pieces, however, I have never received any offer. In 2013 I requested that Global ship the jewelry to me in the US. In 2014 I had the pieces appraised. The piece that I paid $332, 280.00 appraised for $143, 130.00 or 43% of what I paid for it. The second piece I paid $51, 000.00 appraised $30, 540.00 or 60%. Over the years I have requested the to buy the pieces. Answer no not at any price.

Global Royalties Ltd VERY SLOW PROCESS

I am writing this complaint to shed some light on what has happened from my experience with this company only. I have all email document conversations and paperwork to back up everything that I am writing here today, so if you would like to contact me about it email me at [protected]@msn.com and I can forward you copies of all the email transactions and paperwork that was sent to me regarding the situation.
I was approached via phone by Global Royaltied Ltd. to INVEST money by purchasing gems to hold till they go up in value and then sell and re invest. Sounds great I said. I started of with a ruby I bought for around 2350.00 USD. It was said to be worth that. I bought it. About a month later I got a call from them stating that the ruby had gone up in value and I could use the equity in it and sell the ruby back to them and use that money plus 7500.00 more to buy an emerald for 10, 000.00 A guy by the name of Mel B told me that he expects emeralds to go up to 13, 000 in 6 months so it would be wise to invest. So I bought the emerald. They sent it to me no problem. Again about a little mor than a month later they phone me to tell me that my emerald has appreciated in valu to about 13, 000.00 Once again they asked me if I wanted to turn it over and invest more money to get a larger emerald. I told them no and that I wanted to sell the emerald. Thats when things changed. Now all of a sudden there were gaps in communication . I went out and got the emerald appraised by two seperate jewlers, and the value was not even close. WHen I emaild them they said that they told me that unlesss the evaluation was doe by BIRKS, then it is no good. So I went to birks and was put on a waiting list as their guy only comes in Once avery 3 months. I have told them on multiple occasions that I just want my iitial investment back and any profits made on it they can keep. This still did not work, and now I have come to a stand still on replys to my emails. What sounded like an easy tranaction before I bought the emerald, now seems like a long drawn out process that will never end. Based on my experiences with the company I would NOT invest any money with this company ever if. I am hoping to get my money back with out having to tke them to court, but I am doubtful at that. I am almost certain this will end up in court. It has been over 6 months since I tried to retrive my money for this company. I am getting tired of no-responses to my emails and the "We are working on it very Hard", response to wher eis my monry question. If you have any questions feel free to email me at [protected]@msn.com

As a follow up to this complaint, as it turns out there was a breakdown in comunication on my part. I would like to retract my complaint about this company and any negative impact it may have had on any involved parties. William Brown has been very straight forward and fair with my account, and has handled it with great care. The complaint was put forth as I was under a lot of strain from family situations and was not familiar with the actions involved in moving gem stones. They have acted on my behalf and have done everything I have asked of them. They recently moved an Emerald for me, and even though they told me they could get more money for me I told them to sell and they sold it just as I requested. Sorry for any inconvienece this may have caused.
Sincerely,
Chad Zipchian

In regard to Global Royalties. We have the same complains as the above. We have tried to contact them but all avenues have been discontinued. We were wondering if any one has contacted the police or a lawyer in regard to a class action suit. Please contact me in regard...e-mail goldbach@shaw.ca . If a class action suit has not occurred maybe it is worth looking into

And they never will sell it ( I have been waiting for almost ten years with my $20, 000.00 emerald, and have heard all their promises and excuses ), the reason for that is that the real value of their gems are about 10% of what they sell them for. Don't take my word for it, have it appraised by a reputable certified appraiser, Global Royalties of course put them in that enclosure to discourage that, it will have to be removed to get a real appraisal.

I too have been waiting 6 months for my gem to be sold by global royalties(I have had the gem 5 years) I have talked to William a few times and have so far not felt confident in my gem moving hands. They told me in the beginning that selling a ruby was a fairly quick process and that I shouldn't Worry and they will find the buyers...my next step will depend on them...

I have put money into gems over the years with this Global and others. This isn't for everyone. But I must disagree with certain things you state and I have no dog in the fight, but right is right. I've found this company to be very upfront with their paperwork--they send it with every purchase and it clearly states they recommend a hold on gems for at least 5 years. In my experience no other company makes that statement and I tell you I've found out that this isn't something for everyone, but if I was going to pay another gem (which I'm not) I would deal with them again. Now I know people will say, but did you make any money. I've sold gems and made a profit and I've taken a loss but it was my call. If I was holding a color diamond based on the stuff I've been reading, I would hold that badboy for as long as I could to take advantage of the potential.

I go back to the same statement I've previously made. Gem are not for everyone. There is no quick in and out nor get rich quick involved. It's a hard tangible asset that can be sold--to the right buyer, but it does take time. If you are looking for safe investments without the possibility of things not going wrong--try the ole try and true--DON'T INVEST!

I too have had the same experiences as Chad above with the exception of having the issue resolved. I as well went through the many calls to get me to sell and reinvest into a larger stone which I did more times than I care to admit to. When I reached the point where I wanted to check on things to see how smooth it went before going any further I made the phone call and asked to put my stone up for sale. Well, that call was made over 9 months ago now and I never hear anything unless I send some kind of email first, then I get a response of be patient were trying we have had no reasonable offers so we haven't contacted you. Whenever they wanted to sell me a stone there was ALWAYS one available, now that I want to sell... well, nothing, nobody. The sales reps I have dealt with include Mel B, David B, Danny M, and currently William B plus others in other capacities.
I was never 100% keen on this investment venture, and now I'm regretting having done it and would NEVER do it again. All I can say is I'm glad I decided to try to see how easy or difficult it would go before upgrading any further.
I guess my next step is to get one of the BIRKS evaluations and if things aren't as they are supposed to be then it's time to follow up with the BBB. Then maybe legal council.
Same as Chad above I also have kept all correspondences. If anyone has questions you can email me at nwflycaster@comcast.net

This has been my own personal experience and dealings with Global Royalties LTD and they may differ greatly for you.
