YES. Big scam. The two "free" airline tickets are a bogus ploy to get you into their presentation. I have received a voucher to redeem this, and it is through another timeshare company called VIP. You have to send them $75 and select dates for your so-called free airline tickets and 45 consecutive date. It reads:

1. Please complete the activation form and mail it by certified mail to the address below. Please include a refundable deposit of $75.00 in the form of a money order or cashier check only. The envelope must be postmarked no later than 21 days from the Sponsor's issue date. Upon receipt, VIP Travel Reservations will mail you a vacation planning package which will include a reservation request form.
2. When you receive your reservation request form please choose your travel date allowing at least 60 days before your first travel request, and 45 days between each consecutive day.
3. This vacation offer provides 2 adults with airline tickets for flights within the continental US only (no flights to Alaska or Hawaii) and a $30.00 Darden gift card. To be eligible for this offer you must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid major credit card. We cannot guarantee that you can combine this certificate with any other vacation certificate. Airfare must be used together.
4. When your reservations are confirmed, VIP Travel Reservations will prepare and mail a written confirmation with your itinerary. Please note that while advance notice is recommended, correspondence is not issued until 15 to 21 days prior to your pickup date. It is important that you do not make travel arrangements until you receive your written confirmation. Gift card issued with confirmation of travel only.
5. You will be responsible for transportation to and from the airport, taxes, fees and any surcharges.
6. All bookings are subject to the availability of VIP Travel allotments. During peak season, conventions, and holidays a surcharge will apply. When VIP travel Reservations, Inc. allotments are full, VIP Travel Reservations reserves the right to substitute a different itinerary.
7. When you receive your reservation request you will choose the nearest major airport to your home as well as a destination city that has a major airport. Choose two different dates of travel allowing at least 45 days between dates. There must be a minimum of 4 nights between arrival and departure.
8. Cancellation policy: If you cancel a confirmed flight you will not be allowed to reschedule, nor will your $75.00 deposit be returned.

And there are 7 more rules that I didn't think were that important. Hopefully you get the point. There is no one who would do this for a trip. That's the point. It's a scam and they
know it.

I've contacted them to voice my complaints. Here are the numbers I have:

[protected]. Ask for Monroe and tell him Greg said hello. He didn't care one bit.

[protected]. Ask for Jeff and tell him I said hi also. Didn't care one bit.

They will try to sell you on a vacation package from 8 to 15, 000. When you decline, TWO other members of the staff will lay a guilt trip on you and finally you'll be on your way. Funny how these people are always schmucks.

In a nutshell, GEVC is misrepresenting free offers to get you into there 90 minute presentation (which is more like 2.5 hours). They will make you feel so special it's like a cult. STAY AWAY FROM, GEVC and VIP Travel. You have been warned.

p.s. I'm the guy that won'y go away. I will post this on every forum I can find and I will even go hand out flyers in front of their building to prevent others from wasting their time and money. Watch me...

If you are looking on this sight for a complaint, well guess what! It's called the complaint board! Do not base your purchasing decisions on a sight dedicated to complaints.

Join me on this class action lawsuit! This is all a scam! I paid $7, 500 for this never ending membership and I was charged $145 annual HOA Fees and now I am being told that I must pay $129 renewal annual fees for what! I can't even use my points... This is ridiculous!

I payed $7, 500 all in full this is such a SCAM! I need people to follow me on this class action lawsuit!

A lawsuit? your lawyer will want a 10, 000 retainer...then costs will kill you...so even if you win, which you won't, you will lose. If you follow the rules and do as instructed, 98% of these things work out just fine. If you fight the system and scream and yell, you will get nowhere...the word is "paid", not "payed", by the way!

I own a Wyndham/Worldmark timeshare and just bought the GEVC program I have not taken care of my gifts yet will this week but I can say RCI is the best my wife went to Prague 3 years ago and rci took care of all of her needs to travel there even though they did not have any RCi units available or they did not have any there don't remember. However they are top notch we have always used our point with Wyndham/Worldmark and needed more and decided to get the GEVC package instead of adding more points to our other program. I was also told directly from the group at GEVC to follow the directions on the free certificate to the strictest details or you void the trip. IS this a scam "no" this is how the do business and because you did not follow all the directions to get your "FREE" gift you're mad you need to grow up, mature some and take responsibility for your own lack of following directions.

Personally you are acting like a child throwing a tantrum and thinking if you scream enough you will get your way. I am glad to read that 90%+ of the people that have responded read their instructions and followed them like grown adults.

I AGREE TOTAL SCAM. RCI IS ALSO A TOTAL SCAM. TRIED TO USE MY POINTS TOWARD HOTEL STAYS LIKE THEY PROMISED AND LITERALLY IT WAS THE SAME AS WHEN I BOOKED MYSELF AT A HOTEL STAY. NO DISCOUNTS AT ALL BY RCI. BY THE WAY THE ONLY GUARENTEE FOR 2 PEOPLE SO YOUR STUCK PAYING AN ADDITIONAL FEE WHEN YOU ARRIVE WITH YOUR FAMILY DUE TO THE RESERVATION ONLY FOR 2 DONE BY RCI. I AM FRUSTRATED AND UPSET AT BOTH GEVC AND RCI BOTH SCAMS AND NO GOOD! I AGREE WITH THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR I WILL ALWAYS BASH THEIR NAME BECAUSE THEY ARE GARBAGE AND A BIG SCAM.

"P.S. I'm the guy that wont go away" you are an idiot! I got 2 certificates one for a 7 night cruise and 1 for airfare that could be used together. The first time I screwed it up and I didn't sent them in certified mail and tried my hardest, begged, pleaded, threatened, everything and they wouldn't take it, it was void. I went back to the people I got it from they gave me new ones, I sent them in and the first date was not available but the second was. They booked my air to Ft. Lauderdale, the booked my cruise to Nassau, St Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk, and they booked me an extra night in Ft. Lauderdale before my cruise at a good rate. So, it isn't a scam they will book you but I can vouch for it when you say yes, YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS!

That was almost exactly the same air fare certificate that I had, and when you are posting those terms and conditions for VIP why your talking about GEVC as misrepresentation. The company, PDI, that I went to didn't represent the certificate, sure that is how they got me there but if you can read you know what you are getting, no? I had 2 certificates 1 for air line tickets and the other for a 7 day cruise. I opted to use them separately. My tickets are booked for the end of March to Indianapolis and cost me all taxes and fees right at 1/3 of what I'm used to. My cruise I requested for September out of my local port, Port Canaveral. I'm a local and got my certificate from PDI and so far most everything has seemed very reasonable and has worked good.

Your biggest problem, sir, is that you were not willing to do a little extra work to take a relatively free vacation. GEVC is not the only company to use VIP; other timeshare companies use them to great advantage. I received some last year but, like Tyler Mac, I was unable to use them due to surgery (mine). This year, I intend to use them, and I see no real problem having to pay some money up front, especially when the word "refundable" is before the price. And, after having attended quite a number of timeshare presentations, GEVC is the only one that I can say is probably the one I would sign up for.

I didn't find it to be a "big scam" but it aslo wasn't claimed to me to be free. I had a certificate for a 3, 4, or 5 night cruise during low season. We ended up not being able to use it because my wife had to have surgery. But the reservation process seemed fairly cut and dry, mail certified the registration form with a $99 deposit, request dates, be told what the availability is, and in my case have to decline and request a refund :( But yes I did receive my refund. All is good, I just hope we get to utilize the certificate next time if given the chance!

That is exactly what I had, and no sir, it was not bogus, I was very pleased with how it worked out. I was offered a car rental which I didn't get because I guess that was only if you responded in a specified amount of time. oh well, I sent my stuff in, they sent me 3 green sheets, one was the travel request form, I filled it out and sent it back. It asked for two dates and destinations, but I really only wanted one but i called and they said this was okay but it would be based on availability. Alexia called me yesterday and offered it to me, it cost me $166 and I got exactly what we needed. I called today just to be sure and it is all booked. Just waiting on my confirmation now.

I can say I found how the original company making the sales pitch represented the promotional offer did seem misleading, but taken with a grain of salt and reading it all ourselves it turned out ok. I had their Fly USA certificate as well as a 7 day car rental and it cost us $131 for the air and $59 for the car. We also paid an additional $23 to upgrade our car rental. It all seemed to work very well for us for our trip to Portland to see our grand kids.

I did not get my certificate from GEVC but it was for the 2 airline tickets. We got back from our trip last night. My only complaint is that the notice they gave me of my trip being available was inside a month from the dates we wanted. But who am I to complain, they came through even if I was getting a little nervous! They also booked a car for me while I was there and a hotel stay for the three nights I couldn't stay with my sister, both at a reasonable rate. So in short, yes what you post looks like the same terms and conditions I signed agreeing to, and once I followed them I had no problems. I will use VIP again in the future.

Yep, those sound like our terms and conditions, however I'm not sure if you are calling our certificate bogus or the presentation it self, which we have nothing to do with. We do travel hundreds of happy travelers a month and I can assure your our certificates are not bogus. I can also assure you that we have no Monroe or Jeff in this office, so I do apologize if they misrepresented any part of our certificate to you, but VIP Travel can not be held responsible for that.

So you didn't buy there product and yet say it is a scam. How do you know? It sounds like you are the scammer. You went because you thought you would get a valuable gift for just spending 90 minutes of your time. Are you really that stupid? Many companies use this type of marketing, if it offends you don't take them up on the offer. These types of offers all have limitations whether they come from a company like this or any other company. I have used several of these promotional trips over the years as have my parents dating back to 1966. Yes you are at their mercy as far as when you can travel but we have always received our trips. Quit whining, if you don't like the terms and conditions just throw it in the trash or give it to someone who will use it. So you wasted a couple hours of your time, lesson learned. Don't respond to any more promotions from any company.
