Warning to all PC Technicians considering working for this company. I have done excellent work for this company for 3 months now. Out of those 3 months they paid me once on time. The other two months I never received a pay check! I begged and pleaded and they finally let me go out on jobs and collect some of the money owed to me directly from the customer. They now owe me $282 in back pay. It is always the same story, well the pay check was issued and deducted from our account, but mysteriously the pay check never shows up in my mailbox! When I ask for proof that pay check was issued I always get the run around! Be forewarned, stay away from this company! They are either a scam/fraud operation or they are in serious financial trouble and about to go down the tubes!

Wow...that is great that you are able to wait up to 90 days for a paycheck. I wonder how many Americans are in a position to do that? Furthermore, I wonder if your bank would be willing to wait 90 days for you to make a mortgage payment. I think not. When a company makes a contract with someone to pay within a certain time period and they go beyond that then they are violating contractual law, plain and simple. Why would you condone such a thing or accept it?

Update. Geeks Home and Office finally sent my check for work done in July which ended up bottom line that i was over paid for amounts due to me by about $110. They were nice enough to agree that I would not have to pay that money back if I agreed to remove my comments on this complaint board. I figure they owe me something for all the late fees I accumulated on bills I had due and was unable to pay because they either were extremlely late in issuing me a check or getting me the money owed me by allowing me to collect directly from the customers.

For the work I did in July, they had told me that the check had been issued and was supposed to be arriving on the 11th of August which was only 1 day late according to contract. When I didn't get the check on the Aug 11th, I asked them for proof that the check was issued which they refused to provide. I waited patiently until Saturday, Aug 14th still no check at which time I sent an email and told them that I was going to file complaints on this complaint board, Better Business Bureau, and Idaho Attorney General, and furthermore that I would file a small claims lawsuit against them. Appartently this got action because I finally did receive the check for work done in July on Friday August 20th. The date of issuance on the check was Monday, Aug 16th which means they were not being honest when they told me the first week of August that the check was issued and would arrive on August 11th. The check never got issued until I told them I was going to file complaints, lawsuits, etc.

Bottom line, I don't think the customer service reps are being dishonest. They are victim of the owner who is obviously either in serious financial trouble or is out and out right now honest himself. The customer service reps are merely repeating to the techs what they are told by the owner. I wonder if the customer service reps are having trouble collecting their pay checks also?

At any rate, I am going to leave this complaint up for other techs to see for awhile because I believe they deserve to know that if they work for this company they should be prepared to wait an extensive amount of time beyond contract to receive payment and that the owner is not being completly forthcoming about exactly when they will receive payment.

Hey, I'm just stating facts on this board for all to see. I tell the truth plain and simple. I do not lower myself to insulting and calling others names, as some others seem to want to do on this board.

As I read down through the comments on this page, it is obvious that Geeks Home and Office actually plants postive comments about themselves on this page. What a scam. Good luck to anyone who is fool enough to work for these scam artists.

I am a mobile technician in the Dallas area Fort Worth.
I have been subcontracted by this company 2 months ago from the date the comment was posted. I was sent an email from this company asking me to do a job for them in Allen Texas and that the job paid $40 an hour. So I accepted the contract and I went to the customer and I stayed on his computer for 5 hours because he needed data recovery and I used my software to recover his corrupt hard drive and get it back in order. so I billed the company right after I finished my work $200 for 5 hours of work and they promised me that the check would be mailed out. its been 2 months now and I've never received my check.

Everytime I call them, Michael answer the phone, I ask him about my check but he keejps giving me the run around and always tells me can we call you in the morning when David is in the office because he is the billing manager so I wait for their call but they never do call me so I call back in the morning and they tell me that David is not in the office and he will be back tomorrow.

Believe or not, they dare to want to subcontract me again just few days ago. So I asked about my owed money and same lame story. David is not here and he is the billing manager and we just take calls from customers. Can you please help me get my money for work I've done for yall? He responds David will call you jn the morning. But never calls.

Is there a way we can sue this bogus company for all the fraudulent transactios poor technicians have been scammed with?

I billed Geeks Home and Office for the work I did on site over a month ago.

Due to the nature of the billing, I had to wait almost a month to bill them, and over a month after the billing date, I have received no e-mail from them, and I am unable to get a hold of them via telephone.

I did fantastic work for the customer, and I'd include her phone number for a reference if Geeks Home and Office policy didn't prohibit me from collecting it. I wish I would have now.

Attached is proof that I billed them a little over a month ago. If they weren't impossible to contact after doing work for them I wouldn't bother filing this report.

I did one job for Geeks Home and Office in January of 2010 and they did NOT pay me. I called and emailed several times and they kept making excuses for not paying. They even tried to get me to do more work, but I told them I was still waiting to get paid for the first job. The last time I called them I could tell I was never getting paid. I decided what they owed me was not worth the effort of repeated calls or legal action. I figured it was a company that would soon go out of business. I was disappointed to see that they are still around and that apparently not paying their contractors is standard practice, but I am glad to see that people are speaking out against them on discussion boards online.

They still have paid me every month for a couple years now. Always late but they pay. In my paperwork they pay the following month for the month before but it sometimes turns into two months but as of now I am even with them. My advice is if you cant wait a month or two dont work but if you bill out 30 days they are ok.

Call them with a different number. That's what I did and they answer but once you introduce yourself as being the technician that is trying to get their money you'll either get hung up on or they will BS their way out saying they will call you back and once the phone call is over they block your number. After they blocked my 4 numbers I used a friends phone and David answered again. Once I introduced myself he hung up immediately. What a ###. He'll get whats coming to him in due time.

Right you are droberts1019. The more technicians we can gather the better. And you don't have to live in Dallas / Fort Worth either to contribute. Just contact droberts1019 via email like I did and we'll gather our resources and capture this guy before he causes anymore damage. Geeks Home and Office is giving technicians who work hard a bad name and it needs to stop.

Note to all,

We now have two of us in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area on board for legal action against the company.

Write "service@ehomecompass.com" and once we have three of us (I would like to have five), we will start looking into lawyers.

Thanks!

I was contacted via Geeks Home and Office by a gentlemen named David via email for a house call that next day. I performed the services exceptionally according to the customer survey and per David. I was then told my check would be mailed out to me the end of that month which was only a few days after the services were performed. It is now almost 3 weeks later and no check. Within that time I have made around 15 phone calls to the [protected] number. Within those 15 phone calls I only got a hold of two different people which tells me the company is very small and they quote in their "About Us" website page "...a family oriented business..." however they are subcontracting technicians left and right through any means necessary to get the job done which is obviously not "family oriented". I was told by David, after failing to contact me back when he said he would 3 times, that he or the billing manager named Larry would absolutely call me back that next morning to get this all worked out. I never got a phone call. I have 4 different numbers I have tried calling them on and they all either go straight to voicemail or it sounds like someone picks up but I cannot get anyone to speak. I am convinced that this company is a complete scam unless I get my paycheck soon like I was promised. It is too bad I did not do any research before performing the service. If I had I would of seen the hundreds of complaints posted all over the internet.

ALL TECHNICIANS STAY AWAY FROM GEEKS HOME AND OFFICE!

My company, eHome Compass - whom I am the owner, was subcontractedto do work one direct by them and once theu TechDirect. The first time thru Techdirect, they took a month longer to pay then agreed to. The second project, direct from them, has of yest to pay - and we are at two months overdue from agreed payout date.

Note that I have been lied to by a David and a Michael. Also, NONE, and I do mean NONE of my voice mails have ever been returned. After the first couple of calls, they must have tagged my number, due to the fact that now they do not answer the line each time. Either it goes to voice mail, or I am notified that the MAGICJACK - YES, MAGICJACK - client is unaviable. Those times it has gone to voce mail, I have waiting a few minutes and called from other numbers and then for some reason someone will answer!

The first time of being late was "due to an error in proccessing your payment" - their words.

The second time, so far in the two times I have talked ot them (and remember, I have yet to get payment), I have heard they had a proccessing issue and then that they were changing banks. Seems thru the last two years that techs have been told a lot about changing banks.

The last call today, was after talking to David yesterday, and per him, "Call tomorrow and Michael wants to speak to you so we can get the payment to you, but call before noon eastern time". So I called at 10:30 eastern time and then again at 11:30 eastern time, and then again at 12:40 eastern time - each time, I recveived a Magicjack recording!

So now, I am really at the point I do not care about the money from them. This is a matter of my company wanting legal damages from their company. Anyone that wishes to contact myself and start seeking a class action lawsuite against their company, please send me an email to service@ehomecompass.com

When we reach four people, we will start seeking a lawyer for this matter.

They have owed me from a for some time now and have been giving the run around like bank and payroll issues. Seeing all these complaints doesn't inspire much confidence that I'll ever get paid for my work.

100 dollars interest? Grow up. geeks Home and Office, great company to work for. This was a malicious posting to begin with and now its turned into just ridiculous people stating from previous postings without a complaint of their own. Looks like malicious intent. Geeks home and office uses Onforce as well and has a 100% approval rating. 100 dollars Interest lol!

They can send the work to whoever they want. If you don't like the pay dont take the job? Simple right? Geeks is a good company to work for as stated before they pay on time every month. They also use Onforce, among others. Geeks Home abd Office. Great company! This Complaint board sucks!

@dylan8 ...it doesn't matter if they gave him an extra $100, that should cover the interest on that money because if you owed them money they would surely add interest to what you owe them. DATA DAVE has every right to complain because I would also. There are to many of these companies getting rich off the backs of techs they ripoff .

So you had to wait 90 days, got paid $110 extra and didn't have to pay them back? But, you refuse to realize that maybe they made a mistake and made up for it? You must have some angry grudge against them to keep trying to bad mouth them. At this point it sounds like they should be complaining about you for past wages due.

So your saying they paid you and gave you 100 dollars extra and you still complain. It's useless complaints like this is why companies hire 10 dollar an hr. techs instead of contracting. If they were smart theyd have you banned from the complaints board. If you havent noticed it's hard enough to get work without idiots like you ruining it for everyone else. Work for Geeks On Site or On Call and see if you ever get paid. They are real scam companies. Good luck!

Thats very strange. I have done jobs for over 1 year. Some times they pay late but I always get my check. I have worked for several Geeks companies and they sometimes pay 60-90 days out. So for me they have been a decent company and a good source of extra income. I would and have recommended other techs to them.
