I purchased a GE Washer and Dryer on July 15, 2007. In December 2007 the dryer through the main breaker in my home because it got so hot. The shell of the dryer would burn you almost immediately to the touch. It took a repairman 2 months to the day to get back with me about changing all 3 theromstats in the dryer. Since then it does dry however, the shell does not get hot unless you open the dryer between cycles to check on the clothes and if you do it gets hot again. It now has to be put on 70 minutes drying time and it kicks off at 50 minutes and this is the only cycle it works on. The washer has throwed a breaker 4 times and a new breaker was replace and when the washer was turned back on it threw the breaker again. I have had a certified electrician to my home on numerous occassions and he said that there was nothing wrong with the wiring in my home and that there was no way he would attempt to use this washer and dryer in my home. Also both timers are messed up in both appliances. When the repairmen come to my home you never know when they will show back up. I have called Consumer Relaions numerous times at 1-800-386-1215 and have spoken with Rick Wilson, Violet, and numerous others and have been assurred that someone would be out to my home to assess the situation. The last time was in June and as of now I have not seen noone. This is an absoulute disgrace. I have a GE Refrigerator and a GE Stove and I can tell you right now I will never have another GE Product in my home. This has been the biggest rip off I have ever seen. I am sick and tired of having to deal with these people. You would think that the Customer Relations Department could resolve this issue. I have even ask to speak to the person in charge of all operations and was told that they did not know who it was. The warranty is almost up on these appliances and they are not worth a plug nickell so why would I want to take out an extended warranty when the original warranty was not honor. Maybe the Better Business Bureau could help. I feel like these appliances need to be replaced and you can tell by looking at them they have been well taken care of. Please help me.
