Deceitful credit card practices
Complaint Rating: 75 % with 4 votes
I always use my credit card statements as a reminder to pay my credit cards each month. GE Money bank switched to e mail statements which I did not ask for or want. My balances not only increased because I was not getting statements by mail to remind me, I was also charged a $20.00 fee each month for not paying my balance. I finally got a letter from them back in August stating that they rely on my prompt payments and that they had not received any. I called their customer service, and the rep told me they had switched to e mail statements. I said I did not want them and told her other companies send e mail statements but also send me statements each month to remind me. I told her to start sending me statements by mail, plus copies of the statements I had not received for my records. It is now September 23. No statements have been received to date. My next payment will be due October 9, and rest assured I will be cancelling the credit card as soon as my entire balance is paid in full. My GE Money Bank card is my PayPal buyer credit card. I will never use this card again through ebay or PayPal. I wonder how many other people have had similar problems. GE Money Bank customer service is obviously worthless. Non-friendly and obviously working for the company to increase their revenues anyway they can. How can a company like this continue to operate this way and get by with it? There are good credit card companies out there, and this is not one of them. I do not recommend them and empathize with others who have been taken for a costly ride.

you're completely worthless the only way you get email statements is if you go online and opt for them so apparently you need to watch what you are doing and opting for just another sign of ignorance have a good day!!!

After purchasing stereo equipment from a local retailer and financing thru GE I never received a billing until 11 mos later when I got a call from their collection agency...They said my mail was returned to them and they couldn't get in touch with me....Well ,I have been in the same house for 30 yrs and they have my work # & house phone # along w/my cell #...Now the outrages fees kick in and they just don't care about the customer or how the problem happen. After speaking w/them today and closing the acc't I advised them that the statement for Dec or Jan hasn't made it to the house....WHAT A SCAM...At this point I will be reporting this to our BBB in Maryland and any other agency that will listen to my tale of woe....

I recently requested a credit card for a Sam's Club in Dec 2007. The lady at the Sam's Club said I would receive a letter regarding my credit card request. I received a denial for credit supposedly due to a credit score reported by Equifax. Since then I have tried to contact Ge Credit Report via phone and fax and have obtained my credit report. My credit report from all 3 credit reports and my credit scores are all listed as "very good". My scores were all excellent. I have contacted Equifax and they give me a mailing address for GE Money Bank and a PO Box mailing address to find out the problem. Now, I see on-line that there are several complaints against GE Money Bank. This needs to be addressed and I'll be in contact with BBB of Arkansas. Sharon Loven

To turn e-mail statements back on you just have to submit it in writing. So stop trying to be a martyr and just behave like a civil person to a customer service representative and ask for the address.

There are complaints like this for any company and if it wasn't due to Federal Privacy laws, I am sure the companies would love to illustrate how people either don't understand what they are signing or turn a blind eye until they have no choice and they forget that their Mommy isn't paying the bills anymore.
