Upon recieving a letter from my issued credit card company, i was irate! I made a payment on 4/16/09 when the bill was due 4/30/09. It says so on my account statement, but they never withdrew the funds from my account. Now they are charging me $29 late fee, $25 non payment, and $25 returned check fee. There was more funds in the account than the payment listed and placed. Horrible HORRIBLE ethical system. But I bet if this were them, "someone better fix this...ASAP". How about that same consideration to someone who has NEVER been late on a payment, and wishes to have their account reopened??

I'm hoping that by submitting my problems with GE Moneybank on this forum I may feel better. Sort of a catharsis. It seems as though we (consumers) should have a place to air our grievances and feel as though GE Moneybank will eventually feel pressure from a government agency and stop their unethical (if not illegal) business practices.

I called GE Moneybank on July 17 to make a phone payment on a "promo" (no interest) that was due on a Sunday, the 19th. The man took my info and later I received a confirmation letter acknowledging payment being made on the 17th. Everything seems fine, but when I check my bank to see if the funds were withdrawn (today's the 25th) I find they haven't been. So what's my problem? It is this. GE Moneybank's practice of being unethical, short of being illegal, allows them to charge me the 200 and some dollars in interest on the "promo" on my next bill, and they know that a good percentage of people think that this company is well regulated and will never even check their bill and continue to pay on the bill.

I know the above may be confusing. I'm frustrated because for the past week I've tried contacting them about why they haven't made the transfer yet and they are too busy (long waits) or I'm calling when they are closed (?????????). It also frustrates me that my payment is always due on a Sunday (even though they deny they do this). So beware. I think they rely on people (and enrich themselves with late fees, penalties, etc.) thinking that if the payment gets to them by Friday then all is well, but it isn't because anything that arrives on Friday isn't processed until Monday and, guess what?, your payment is late.

I'm now getting too upset. Thanks for listening.
