Ge money bank late fees and over the limit fees is a rip off!
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 6 votes
I also had a dental loan with care credit , which goes through ge money bank... What started out as a $500 loan, has now escalated to $850 and is still growing... i am at a loss as to what to do here. I have spoken every month to people at ge bank and they are of no help, nobody knows what they are doing, no supervision... I could send my payment on the first of the month, and it is due on the 12th, and i would still have a late fee somehow... I will never deal with them again, i don't know how i am going to pay this now, and each bill i get now has a $30 over the limit fee and another late fee... It is such a mess... What can i do? Any advice from anyone... I can not pay this loan if they do not take off these late fees... So discouraged with this all, ready to just file bankruptcy, I'm to avoid more late fees and over the limit fees... Please if anyone reads this do not deal with ge money bank.

Have received bills for a debt i do not know about.

There is no way of checking on this because only addresses and phone numbers are overseas and i certainly have done no business overseas.

Where can i find out what this is for?

I have to add my voice to those of the other writer in this page. I had la sick done in my eyes. Paid with a loan form GE. I have been paying since 2005. Flawlessly since then same method of payment always the same way. Now Ms. J. B. supervisor at GE and according to her the only and last person in their hierarchical ladder that would talk to me. Tell me that in the last 7 month my payment started coming in 10days late and I was been charged $35 each time. In there bill statement there was never any disclosure or indication that the previous month payment was coming in late. There was no calls made either to inform of this situation. Suddenly this week I get several calls form them and every time I answered they would simply hang up. I get a letter stating that My promotion contract was no longer valid and that now I owned them $4,800. When the original bill for my procedure was $4,000 and I have been paying $100 plus for 23 month. I wonder what resolution or steps other people in this board have taken to correct matters with this company and what would be the steps to take for a class action law suit against this obviously unethical business that is hurting so many people financially and emotionally .

If you have any advice, ideas or suggestions or have undertaken any formal legal action against this scoundrels please contact me:

I totally agree. In my opinion, GE Money Bank is a complete ripoff. I have had a similar experience.

A lot of peoples problems could be fixed by THOROUGHLY Reading the terms and agreement of the loan.

I opened an account on 06/11/2007 as a "Pay Deferred Interest" account. Specifically this account was opened in the amount of 1,369.00 with no interest for one year.
On 07/27/2007 I sent a payment of 600.00 into GE Money Bank. On 10/24/2007 another payment was sent in the amount of 300.00. On 11/20/2007 another payment was sent in the amount of 469.00. On this check I wrote "payment in full per contract agreement". GE Money bank has tacked on 169.00 worth of late fees and interest even though they were paid well in advance of the one year and even though the payments I sent were way in excess of the 20.00 a month they asked for. They are rude to talk to on the phone and absolutely refuse to correct this problem with threats of more interest and fees. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. This company is horrible to deal with and all you do is go around in circles trying to resolve.

No offense to you all... but read the terms and conditions. As for late fees and overlimit fees? DUH! DON'T GO OVERLIMIT, DON'T GO PAST DUE. Those fees are a deterrent for doing such things again. Every class action suit against GE, Chase, AMEX, etc etc has been thrown out because YOU are responsible for the bill. Not them. Take care of your own credit and don't expect the world to bend over backwards for you.
