Service charges for work not completed
I brought in my car to have the radio unlocked. I was told it would be about 15 minutes and cost is $70. Well, 2 hours into the service call they gave me the car back and told me they were not able to unlock the radio. And they told me there are no guarantees and I would still need to pay the $70. Why didn't they tell me that when they gave me the quote? Or tell me when they checked me in that day? I questioned how they could charge me and not complete the work, and I was told by the Service Advisor (Joe Bewig) that they need to pay the repairman for his work. I pressed the issue and he told me to go pay the cashier to get my car back. This is a total rip off to quote a price to do work, and then "not" complete the work, and still charge me.
I have had a similar experience a few years ago where they changed me $99 to tell me that the car was operation as designed. And the new car was still under warranty.
Gateway Buick GMC - Fraud - Deceptive Trade Practice
Gateway Buick GMC fraud with inconceivable deceptive trade practices - I went to the dealership because my truck was stolen. My wife ended up trading her vehicle for a new GMC and I drove off in a used F350 with terms that a $10k check provided would be held through the following Tuesday or the vehicle returned with no further obligations. I was unable to cover the check and returned the vehicle as agreed only to be lectured that the contract executed was binding, threats that we could be deported, the truck my wife obtained seized, personal property levied and cost of repossession likely exceeding $10k was at risk along with criminal prosecution. After two hours of being interrogated and having my family threatened, new terms were provides and under distress I executed terms with a $650.00 monthly payment on the vehicle. I returning the vehicle to gateway only to have them drop it off at my house leaving the keys in my mailbox and many discussions with Ally Financial and Gateway appear to be at impasse, if anyone has experienced similar actions at Gateway GMC Buick, PLEASE let me know via email - ads.hernandez @ gmail.com or call me at 214.912.9441 – Alfredo Hernandez.
Vance, you don't get it... they knew the check was no good, held it as agreed & waited like vultures for his return. They gave his check back and used illegal deceptive trade practices to sell a truck... GET IT. Ally Financial "former GMAC" who we bailed out in the tune of $17b due to its sub-prime lending funded the transactions. Maybe you should purchase some of their stock. They are certainly one proud group and are admittedly focusing terms to the sub-prime market to move used cars. They never learn but why should they, it's not their money. http://finance.fortune.cnn.com/2011/03/31/bailed-out-ally-files-for-ipo
This went one of two ways:
Ally Financial lending company was lied to by the Gateway Buick / GMC car salesman providing inaccurate and false proof of financial stability / income.
or

I'd be interested to see what info Ally was provided. Idiots and scammers through and through. Any judge would see right through this.
Hey Gateway, save yourselves early on. Recognize your overwhelming GREED and save yourselves time, money, and your integrity before this goes to court!
Hah! Typical. They should absolutely resolve this issue for their customer. Ridiculous. It's a wonder with all the bailouts the auto and banking industry recieve, they still haven't figured out not to lend to those not qualified. Fix it before the American People have to pay! FIX IT FOR YOUR CLIENT as well as for the rest of us!
The Texas Attorney Generals Office should take note.

Vehicle Purchase
Buyer beware of this dealership. Not to impune the honor of the people that Malcolm L. and Jeanette R. dealt with, but my dealings with the salesperson, the service manager, and the GM left me disgusted and completely dissatisfied with the "customer service."
I bought a 2007 Mercury Montego from this dealership in May of this year. When test driving this vehicle, my wife and I noticed the car's air conditioning didn't get cold. However, once we jumped on the highway, the A/C system compressed and seemed to work better. We figured the car was hot from sitting in the sun and was just taking longer to cool off. Wrong.
Two weeks after I purchased it, I noticed the same things. The car's A/C would blow warm air at low speeds and when sitting in traffic---which never happens in Dallas, right? I took it to another dealership to get checked out. Turns out the A/C compressor and the schrader valves are shot.
The salesperson, the service manager, and the GM all refuse to accept responsiblity for an obvious pre-existing condition. In an attempt to be reasonable, I offered to purchase the replacement parts if they would just pick up the labor by repairing the car in their shop. Nothing doing. They refused to cooperate and work towards a mutually beneficial solution to the problem.
Do NOT visit this dealership. You may roll the dice and get a good car and an honest salesperson. But with thousands of dollars at risk on your purchase, is that a risk your willing to take? In hindsight, I wouldn't.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
