Gary Ryan review: 100 day challenge won't refund despite guarantee 27

G
Author of the review

I wasn't happy with the 100 day challenge and did not think it was worth the money I had paid - little more than writing out seven things to do each day to meet five goals, along with a so-called motivational daily video which was nothing more than you would find if you typed that into google. When I asked for a refund within the 30-day money back guarantee period, they sent a reply, within the same 30 days, stating that the period had already expired. I sent an email asking for an explanation and did not receive a reply, nor have they replied to any of my subsequent emails.

Yes, I'm having similar issues with their support.
I bought the program the 31.12.2016 thinking I could start anytime. When I received the email with the work for the first day on the 1st of January, I immediately wrote to the support. I told them I wasn't unable to start before the end of January so, I wouldn't be able to complete the program before the end of the subscription. I ask to postpone the whole program. They kindly told me it was ok and put my account on hold until the 1st of Feb.
You can imagine my surprise when, on day 79, my subscription expired. They just postponed the start but not the end. So I never had the chance to access the content of the remaining 21 days. The program in itself is good and, having paid, I was committed to arriving at the end.
I wrote the support immediately; they told me to buy one of the Alumni options. Obviously, I don't want to pay for something I already paid, I sent them the screenshot of their answer from three months ago, and I asked to get the remaining content. They just went silent.
So, yes. For a program that promotes excellence, the customer care is very mediocre.
By the way. I also wrote to Brian (if he is the answering on this thread) hoping that he would at least reply.
No answer in a week.
My advice is, stay away from this guy and whatever he will try to sell you.
The product may have a value but the customer case is so bad that you will fill tricked.

My overall experience of the 100 Day Challenge was very positive; I succeeded in meeting my goals over the 100 days, which were very challenging, so I owe Gary a big favour. I would seriously recommend the programme to anyone looking for massive results. I think some of the people on here are slightly missing the point in that yes it is quite an expensive programme for what you actually get but that is part of the motivational force: you’ve paid all this money so you kind of have to make it work! Nothing of value in life comes cheap! One negative point where I do agree with some of the comments is that the customer support is ABYSMAL with a capital A. I signed up for the Alumni programme but it wouldn’t re-set from the first time and I got nowhere with the helpdesk. I’m going to cancel this as seriously all the value is in the first 100 Days. Also the software and interface is clunky and not at all intuitive and this needs attention. I noticed that someone made a comment in the 100 Day Challenge forum and it showed it as being made by me – complete with my name and profile photo – which was a bit creepy. So yes, definitely worth the money, but don’t bother with the Alumni bit and be wary of their very unhelpful helpdesk.

I had the same issue, requested a refund because some of the videos didn't work and then I was going out of the country for work where net service was spotty. Emailed, no response. CALLED - no response. Very unprofessional... at least acknowledge and explain why you cannot refund if that is your decision.

Very inspiring video of Shah here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB1NPLPFN2w

Allow me to explain the process. Mr Turner purchased a $1 Trial and within a very short time bailed and asked to have his account closed.
The entire ordering sytem is 100% fully automated and upon request the system the account was immediately closed.

For some reason he has decided to vent on this forum which is quite unfortunate.

WOW! Publishing a customer's name, address, phone #, e-mail address as well as video shaming? That is definitely a new high in lows! You deserve every single negative comment and then some! I, too, was a 100 day challenge customer. I even stuck around for the alumni program. Until you reneged on all the promises of the alumi program that made it worth the $10/mo. - Full access to all previous videos and AAR calls for as long as I remained a member. You failed to mention that was only good until you decided to re-vamp your program and ERASE all the previous content!

Where is Gary? Gary! Your customer serviceon your 100 Day Challenge is absolutely AWFUL man! Pretty sure it's straight out of the 4 hour work week - answer emails once per week, never answer the phone ask people to leave a message. I also requested a refund, well, technically to stop my subscription going through, and I was able to achieve that. It took two emails and two phone calls and four days later I received a message that said, "The Account is closed" WOOHOO! so personal! not. Actually I found a back-up in the My Account settings where you can cancel, even then there is no confirmation, you can still login! Just like some phone company.. happy to take your cash, not there to take your feedback.
For such an amazing guy that has supposedly assisted so many people, all I got by enrolling in his challenge was an automated email with a super hyped video illustrated with stock photos each day. There are some fields you can enter your goals and some tasks but this is not really much different than what most people do anyway with a notepad and pen, hardly worth the money.
Funny thing is when you go in the forum, most of the folks in there look nothing like all the perfect people in the video stock photos, they are elderly pensioners and it's unclear whether they're just there for someone to talk to or if they are really setting massive goals also. You'll see Gary's name in the forum.. as if he supposedly 'started' the thread.. but he's not there. There's not even someone pretending to be Gary there. Lame.
In a day an age where personal brand is so important I think this challenge is really letting itself down. There was not even a welcome video where we could see the real Gary, where he showed gratitude for enrolling and supporting his business, just his voice, reading inspirational cliches you can find anywhere. There was no specific strategy or secret sauce that his system can lay claims to, just generic goal setting and to find an accountability partner.

I am another unsatisfied customer of Gary Ryan Blair. Same story I asked for a refund within the first two weeks of the program and he promptly deactivated my account, but he has not promptly refunded my money. He does not respond to email or voicemail message that I left him.

The 100 Day program was pure rubbish. I've found much better vehicles now. I completed the course because I'm that sort of person who commits, but it was extremely disappointing. Also agree with previous comments about Brian Tracy. Gary Ryan Blair and Brain Tracy are old school money sharks who now don't belong in the personal development modern online arena.

Same Here! Gary Ryan Blair is just a liar, they just want to your money and do not want to give you a refund. For the reason why I buy this program is because I got this product information for Brain Tracy's email subscription, I trust Brain Tracy and also see their web page have the recommendation from Brain Tracy . At now, I lost respect to Brain Tracy too. He can also lie.

SAME PROBLEM! Within HOURS of cancelling, I had no more access to the account, and NEVER got the refund, until I took the issue to PayPal. The video quality of the program is good (even though it looks outdated with all the 1990 stock footage he uses), the CONTENT is AWFUL and very, very weak. I sent follow-up emails, tried to call and no one answers the phone. The program is basically the same run of the mill I found better on You Tube (Like Robin Sharma, I think his name is)

One of my biggest complaints also is his fake voice he uses. Its incredibly awful and sounds like he is a radio host or something like "Hey we will sell you the seat but you'll only need the edge" type of monster truck/ county fair announcer. For the $100+ dollars, its an awful deal. For 100 bucks i'll come over and kick your butt into gear personally.

I was very disappointed with the 100 Day Program. I signed up in 2011, paid the fee and started the program, on Day 2 I was hospitalized and could continue to participate in program. Things went downhill from there due to my health issues, loss of job, apartment, then health insurance. I continued to contact Gary Blair to either get a refund (partial or full) or to be approved to restart the program (which I now definitely needed). To no avail, I received no response, nor return call about my request. As I stated this was in 2011 and to this day I continue to contact them to get a response. Now that I"m back on my feet and work for the government, I know who to contact to get help with receiving a response. THIS IS A THIRD GRADE RIP OFF, $147 down the drain when I most needed help.

I joined the 100 day challenge, and waited about 2 weeks and hen cancelled... Just to test out the system. The refund was processed smoothly no problems at all.. it s a great program.. and the whole idea is to get you to commit to the next 100 days.

GRB is not congruent and does the opposite of what he tells people to do. During the challenge I was on holidays and I needed to organise 3 events so when arriving at home tired, it was of no use to focus on a these kind of lessons ... Now after I reached lesson 45, I have to pay extra because I have not reached lesson 100 before a certain date. This was not clear to me when I subscribed for it. I payed for 100 lessons, I really want access to 100 lessons not more but certainly not less. Very logical but they don't want to understand this simple and fair logic. So for me it was a rip off deal.

BE AWARE: although I had cancelled my subscription over 2 years ago, I just received a fresh $100 charge for their alumni program. I tried disputing with paypal but paypal said that I had "set up a reoccurring" billing with them. When I purchased it was clear to be a 1 time fee, yet without my knowledge they set the payment up from paypal as reoccurring. VERY SNEAKY & UNETHICAL of their billing department. Now I have to beg for a refund for a service I haven't used or had access to in over 2 years! And of course their customer service is less than stellar.

I have had a similar experience. Nothing particularly wrong with the material per-se, but zero customer service if you don't love it. I tried requesting my money back through their "Contact Us" page and got no response. I called and got voice mail several times, and finally left a message. They responded to my voice message by email several days later to say that they had not received my "FORM" - the first I heard of a form, or any other process! I couldn't locate a form anywhere, so I asked for further direction the same day. The next day I was told it was in the HELP section. I finally located it through a link in the FAQ (who puts refund request info in FAQ!? - makes it seem like a frequent occurrence!) and submitted it the same day. By the time all this had happened the 30 days was up, so they refused it on that basis. I finally had to dispute through Paypal and I'm waiting for their decision. I notice that at least one person got a refund promptly after posting here, so maybe it helps! Here's hoping...

I, too, purchased this from Gary Ryan Blair and I asked for a refund with the 30 day window. I have yet to even receive an email from him BUT my access to his website was canceled within TWO HOURS! So I know he got my refund request. Fortunately, I made this purchase through PayPal so I am now going through the claim process. The problem here isn't the quality of the product, it's the quality of his customer service. He's obviously in the business to make/take money and not refund a dime by honoring his 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you request a refund from him you get ignored. I recommend going through PayPal if you can because it leaves open a second option for getting your money back past that 30 window if needed.

Why are you attacking us, and stating that we are "uneducated and nasty"? Even if it were true, it would have nothing to say in this discussion as it doesn't change the fact that Gary Ryan has not held his promise of "commitment to excellence" and his 30-day money back guarantee. I'm not attacking his teachings or his person, I'm just complaining that he ignores his customers once they ask for their money back, which goes completely against the ideology that he teaches in his program. With this in mind, you must be able to understand our side of the argument!? Furthermore, I bet you would have the same experience if you would request your money back!

My experience with the 100 Day Challenge was terrific. The content was great, the community was extremely supportive and overall I would say that this was perhaps the best investment I ever made into my personal development. I have found Gary Ryan Blair and his team to be extremely professional and very helpful.

In reading some of these posts, these people should focus on their spelling and grammar as they sound uneducated and nasty.

I'm in the exact same situation; I did not like the content of the 100-day challenge, and issued a refund within the first 30 days from purchase. I'm now in the process of getting my bank to cancel the payment, as I have not heard a word or seen any money from the GoalsGuy company.

I thinks it's pretty disappointing that Gary Ryan Blair insists upon the finest morality and excellence in human beings, and praises things like speedy costumer service (he literally uses this as an analogy in one of his videos), yet he does not manage the company that spreads these teachings by the same principles. Like he stated himself, you should never ask others to do what you will not do yourself.

I'm sure the content of the 100-day challenge is helping a lot of people. But to me all that greatness falls apart when it turns out that the man is not running an honest business.

I had the same problem. Very disappointed with the quality of the program. On the second day of the program I followed their procedures to get a refund. No response at all. I sent follow-up emails, tried calling, nothing, and no one answers their phone. I had to resort to disputing the charge through my credit card's fraud protection service. The program is essentially the same old motivational platitudes we've all heard a hundred times, delivered with all the production value of a 1980s afterschool special. The videos were so cheezy I couldn't watch them - and Gary Blair speaks with this fake dj voice that just smacks of insincerity.
