Hi everyone,

I too am a victim of this scam. I have found however the trail leading to the so called Pres/CEO of this scam service... His name is Christian Heileson, the address is 197 Portland Street, Boston, MA 02114. The phone number is the same that you are to call to get customer service, [protected]. I found this through the Better Business Bureau which I suggest you all file a complaint with. The BBB ID number for this company is 102515. There is also another email address listed. It is [protected]@funmobile.com . Oddly enough there is only 1 complaint in the last 36 months on this company. Somehow they have managed to hide. So go to the BBB, the company was registered in Delaware in 2006 listed under Funmobile and register your complaint. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we all can turn the tables on this scam company.

My cellular service with T-Mobile began listing unauthorized charges from a company known as "Funmobile" in June. The charge was $9.99 monthly, and T-Mobile described the service as downloads and ringtones for a mobile cell phone. According to records maintained by T-Mobile, Funmobile sent me an initial text message to subscribe, and then a monthly renewal text message - and that I had approved these messages. This was patently false information. The truth is that not only did I NOT subscribe, nor authorize Funmobile charges, I did NOT even have any idea of what Funmobile was, and I had never heard of them before. Until I caught the charge on my cellular bill, this company was set to renew the $9.99 monthly charge to my cellular indefinitely. Obviously I was SCAMMED, and Funmobile perpetrated a scheme to take advantage of the fact that most customers do not check their phone bill for the detailed billing information. Upon my first contact with a T-Mobile representative, T-Mobile told me that their records indicated I had accepted the terms and charges sent from Funmobile to my cell phone via text messages. Online research brought me to this web site, and in particular to these specific complaints about Funmobile. A second communication with T-Mobile and the representative agreed to remove the present and past charges. This should be an urgent lesson to everyone to CAREFULLY scrutinize the details of your cellular phone bills, even though that is a daunting task, given the sheer volume of itemized information printed throughout the typical multiple-paged billing report.

This Company is the biggest farce! I just want my charges removed as I didn't want anything like this, except a FREE complimentary ringtone. And then my cell phone bill comes & there are all these charges for stuff I didn't request. I don't want jokes or texts at all. I work 2 jobs & just the beeping of the phone bothers me & the rest of the people I work with, plus I AM NOT PAYING THEM, so I guess Alltel will deal with them. I am going to request a STOP but if doesn't happen I am going after them with both barrels. This is ridiculous & down right not fair practice & it's a JOKE in itself, ANGRY in Nebraska.

Three months ago my daughter got on line to funmobile.com & gave out her phone number for ring tones. She received nothing on her phone or anything else. However, I am getting monthly charges for $9.99 for the past three months. I have tried to stop this charge along with my cell phone company. I would like this charge OFF my cell phone bill now. . I would like a check for $19.98 for the two months prior, as my cell phone company has credited my account for this month. However they will NOT credit me anymore . I am upset this is going on & ready to take whatever kind of action that is needed to stop this monthly charge. Please let me know how to STOP this matter NOW!

I was walking on a highway and there was this company hawking their service for some ridiculous "joke of the day" product. Now, being a funny guy myself I don't need any funniness on my road. So I ignored the dude thinking,"I don't need it so I'm not even going to look his way so he knows that I don't want it, don't need it, don't want to do business with him."

Well, lo and behold, because I didn't tell this guy that I didn't want him telling me why the chicken crossed the road in 30 different plagiarized versions, he REACHED into my pocket, pulled out my wallet and took $5.99 a week for 3 months for a total of $75.

Now, that's not exactly how it happened, but I was on the internet superhighway shopping for ringtones and this company asked me what was my phone number to see which product they had available for me and since it's a Boost prepaid phone, every time I added money to my account they took $5.99 for games (which I can't play on my phone), for Joke of the Day (I guess the funny was on me with their monkey business) and who knows what else.

Even the rep at Boostmobile was really upset, but they won't answer their phone. Not in their Taiwan office, or the one in Australia, Belgium, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore or Malaysia.

So, I'm out $75 because here in the USA we trust that when a company offers a service they usually wait till you actually answer a yes or no to do business with you. We are silly Americans and think that the rest of the world trying to play catch-up to our economy is going to play by the same rules.

A good lesson for $75. I'm gonna have to work overtime to pay what I actually DO WANT and BUY!

This company charged my Verizon account for something that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. They charged me $19.99 and I have to pay this! I am not happy and I will complain everyday until they credit me for this bogus charge that was never approved!

I was having the same problem I may of found a solution. Try this number [protected] Now I had to call several times before i got threw to a real person but i finally did and it was in the same day. Heres what you do call that number they are Monday threw Friday 9 to 5 call within those hours. when you call they will ask you to put in your number don't put in your number just press the # sign it will say you put in a incorrect number and to try again press the # sign again and you may have to do the same thing again then they will tell you that your request was not valid and they will tell you to hold on while the transfer you to a customer service rep. Now it will beep for a while when you are waiting. You will eventually get either a person or a answering machine. If you get a machine keep trying i did get someone to eventually pick up. I did this today they told me they would send me a check refunding my money whether or not its bogus i don't know yet but its worth a try. Hope i can help. Funmobile.com will charge you $1.00 every day for sending horoscopes in the form of text messages. I have no idea how they got my number, but once they did, text messages came every day. To stop them, reply to the text message using the word "stop" in the message. Funmobile doesn't return emails or phone calls. Do NOT deal with this company. They are a scam.

The web site says that it supports my phone carrier service on ringtones and doesn't. I sent an e-mail to them three days ago to complain about this and still haven't heard back from them. I told them I did not want the service if I could not get the ringtones.

These guys are supposed to receive a confirmation text from you before they send anything thru to your phone. I sent no such text! I receieved 4 txts in the space of 5 minutes. And my phone was charged at $5 per txt. They tell you to sms stop to 4414 and give you an 0800 number to ring to cancel. I sent 8 stop texts and rang the number, there was no reply the first dozen times. When I got the second lot of txts I rang the number again and got an automated machine. After being charged $40.00 all up I`m sure hoping it`s stopped. This is a horrendous scam!

I am 60 years old and don't know, or want to know, how to "text message". I never subscribed to this ### and keep getting charged over $20.00 per month by Verizon. The sick part is Verizon makes no claim to this service but bills and collects the money every month! Of course Verizon, along with their paid politicians have you by the short hairs since it costs you a full two years service to cancel! I wrote the FCC and they claim to NOT regulate the cell phone companies! Stay as far from Verizon as possible, they are no better than thieves on the street!

Tried to get a free ringtone -- got NO ringtone, but 'joke of the day.' Canceled several days after and have been charged $19.99 for two months now. If we text the 71769 code, it says we are not subscribers.

My next letter will be to the FCC -- and I e-mailed them this information today, so we'll see what happens.

Idiots.

Complete idiots.

I logged into Funmobile without knowing that I would be charged, as there is nothing anywhere on the site that states that I will be charged for logging in. I keep receiving messages which I don't need and I have not used any service at all. Yet I am charged $19.96 for a weekly membership fee. Nowhere at anytime did they ask whether I wanted to be a member or that there would be a fee! Is this a scam? Be alert everyone - if there is a charge stated, it's hidden somewhere you can't find!

This company ( funmobile ) fraudulently keeps sending me text messages even when I haven't subscribed to the service. I have even requested my Service provider (Sprint PCS) to block these messages, but they keep charging me. There is no response from Customer Service of this company.

Could someone help with the approach I need to take . My last bill they they charged around $18.00 .

Appreciated.

I went onto the Funmobile site and clicked on an advertisement to receive a free taxi mobile phone ring tone. Immediately I was charged £4.50 to their subscription service from my mobile phone balance. I immediately cancelled the subscription. This is a blatant fraud, their website advertised that the ringtone was free yet I was charged for it. I have complained to them but their answer is that the problem is solved because my subscription is now cancelled. Perhaps I was naive but that still does not excuse them for this blatant scam

I have been getting unwanted text jokes on my cell phone and I'm being charged $19.99 a month for them. I canceled it but I'm still being charged $19.99 for the last month of not even wanting it. I was told that it was free and that I would get paid about $5.00 for trying it for a month through paidmail.com I never got paid and I was charged $19.99 That was false advertisement. I really cant afford it right now because Im not working unfortunately.

To whom this may concern: my cell phone number is [protected]. This is a business telephone that nobody has access to except for myself being karen sturek. I did not subscribe to funmobile however they keep text messaging me jokes and horoscopes on a daily basis. Sometimes up to 4-5 time a day. I am getting charged 1.00 per text message. I want this to stop immediately. I did not give funmobile permission to text message my phone. I have contacted funmobile 1 week ago and demanded they stop. However text messages are still continuing and they refuse to stop. I want these text messages to stop immediately or i will go to the police and have this company charged with fraud. Enough is enough lose my number and quit text messaging my business phone. Karen sturek

I received my bill from Verizon and there was this charge of $5.99 so I called them. They said it was Funmobile but I told them I never subscribed to anything. They said to text 99621 on my phone to cancel and the message came back that said I was not a subscriber.

I have been going back and forth with Funmobile by email. I told them if I was not a subscriber than how did I get charged? Said I had to put in a pin and I told them I didn't. Besides I never received anything from them in a text message so what were they charging me for?

In the end they did say I was cancelled and there would be no more charges but they would not give me back the $5.99. I will check again with Verizon to make sure no more charges are added to my bill. It is just too bad something can't be done to this company but since it is not based in the USA I am not sure it falls under any of our laws.

Funmobile is a total SCAM! Victamized by Funmobile! They bill through your cell phone provider. This was also on my son’s account portion and when I phoned my cell phone provider (FIDO) they explained what the “Third Party” charges were. They were from Funmobile. They kindly removed $40 off my bill for two months of charges, ($20 for each of the months.) They also gave me Funmobile’s phone number to stop the charges. I did phone Funmobile and followed their automated process to stop/cancel subscription. FIDO was very good at handling this. One month later, unfortunately Funmobile charged me two more times in November and I had to call them directly for the refund because now FIDO was unable to help.
My experience calling, Funmobile’s customer service agents are trained to receive upset customer phone calls (it is like they are expecting them) because they are definitely feisty and unfriendly. The agent first refuses to give you refunds but I stood my ground and eventually was able to get them too. (Mind you I just phoned today so maybe in 4 to 6 weeks I will receive the refund. We’ll see.) The customer agent insisted that my young son or someone went to their website and registered the cell phone number and then activated the activation number. The agent did not seem concerned that (very insensitive) of the fact that this was a child’s phone. It was for a Trivia game and my son is under 10. When I looked at the text messages on the phone, it looks like they are just spams and none of the messages (all un-opened I might add until I found them) did not say anything about an activation number but only if you want to stop receiving these Trivia questions to text “Stop” to the number provided. The Funmobile customer service agent insisted that we did register the phone number and that we did activate their activation number. If we didn’t register on their website then there was no way FIDO would have billed us. The FIDO agent had explained the first time that FIDO only receives a list of phone numbers from these types of companies listing the new phone numbers that have registered for their services/games and then FIDO blindly adds these charges to each person’s bill. FIDO does not check with their customers to confirm if this is correct or not.
I don’t believe Funmobile is a truthful company and I don’t believe their customer service agents are knowledgeable because he could not even spell “Delta”. This company does not come off as being legitimate or at least not honest to their un-suspecting customers.

Funmobile Ltd. has sent unsolicited wireless text messages from mobile short code 99621 to Verizon customers stating their Verizon accounts will be billed 5.99 weekly/23.96 monthly for services that are unsolicited by the Verizon customers.

Each month one of our cell phones has several text message charges, each amounts to $5.99.

This has been happening ever since my spouse purchased a new phone in October 2006. He kept the same phone number he had before so I don't know how or why he is suddenly getting these charges.

We never text message anyone and don't want to receive text messages from anyone.

I have called Sprint each month, since Oct 2006, and they claim they have blocked all text messaging but...it isn't happening. They have been courteous enough to remove these charges monthly but...

this is an aggravating problem and we want it stopped.

*** PLEASE COMPLAIN TO THE Better Business Bureau ABOUT THIS COMPANY ***
I received something on facebook to enter and win a gift card. Was told I needed to enter a pin number from my cell phone. It was not disclosed that I would be charged 9.99 to my TMobile bill for some ringtone subscription service. Tmobile gave me their number to call and cancel. They did so, but the rep was very rude and they will not refund the 9.99 i was charged. Again, these scammers need to be shut down.

I was online and there was I.Q. test ad. You answer several questions and then you are asked to enter your cell phone number and you will be sent a 4 digit pin # to find out your results of this quiz. What the company doesn't make clear[or say anything] is that you have just joined and now are charged $9.99 right out of my cell phone account! I had no clue this was not free as the company falsely tricks/scams you before you know what has happened. I am now out the money and I am trying to find out how to get the money put back on my phone. This is unacceptable and these scams seriously need to be shut down. At the very least there should be a warning in big bold print near the top of these quizzes/games letting one know what they are getting into. There is all this tiny[ok fine ] print that goes on and on and on. Shut these scams down!

I too was a victim to this pathetic scam. But someone hacked into my friends MSN thats right MSN and pretended to be her and said "I'm just doing an IQ quiz" then goes on to tell me that she scored 108 and I should try and see what I get". I said what test and then thinking it was her they put a link on her MSN for it and said let me know after I have my shower what you got... I know she is working but stupid me waited till after to call her at work I thought perhaps she had gone home to do something... She had no idea what I was talking about! First Time and last Time I will fall for this, but also who is making conversation? They know English

US Cellular passed through a charge to me for $9.99 plus FED USF charge, regulatory cost recovery fee, and other tax and service charges totaling over $14 for "Funmobile" : top-logo-ringtone.com [protected]. My daughter (under age) thought she was receiving a "complimentary" ringtone. This is a scam and who can do something about it? I see that there is a multitude of complaints about this company. Someone there is getting rich. What can be done about it? When I called the 877 number, a fellow basically said "there is nothing I can do about it". Funmobile is a SCAM!
