4 months ago I had purchased some skin lightening products from the Funky Mommy company (www.funkymommy.net). When I had received my order, it was sent to me in a poorly packaged and cheap looking material but the products are a bit costly. I was using the Funky Mommy Kojic Acid lotion, Gluta-C cream, Gluta pills, and the Glutathione soap and I was using them all religiously and followed the instructions. And I always wore exra sunblock of spf 50. Within about 2 months of use I started getting these white spots on the back of my neck and then all over my hand.
I was hoping that in time the spots would go away but they did not, they got worse and much bigger spreading all over my body and face, I thought I was going to cry. That stuff was starting to make me look like a freak and even worse those Gluta pills was making me vomit and have upset stomache, it did not lighten my skin! It put large white spots all over me and now it looks like I was using monobenzone or something and my skin was starting to itch.
When I contacted the Funky Mommy company to make a complaint and explain my situation, a lady name of "Mags Baylan" started telling me that I was lying and was speaking so rude to me! She refused to hear what I had to say and startred yelling at me over the phone when I had explained I was getting all of these white big spots all over me. She refused to hear any more of it and hung up in my face. I tried calling back the next day of what was happening to my skin and she began cursing at me over the phone to not call the number anymore or email Funkymommy and if I do she will send it to the trash and hang up on me.
This was so dissapointing and unprofessional to me because this was supposed to be "all-natural" and I wanted to lighten 2-3 shades. But instead it looks like it was made in someone's kitchen sink and made my skin look horrible and I still have the spots to prove it. I have scheduled to see my dermatologist to help me improve my skin and fix what Funky Mommy's skin products has done to me and how rude Mags Baylan was to me over the phone.
Please do not order any of the Funky Mommy products as I had as I am still paying the price and months later the big white spots and blotches has not dissapeared where I had applied the lotion and cream at, I fear that it is permanent. What a waste of money, I had to flush all of the glutathione Gluta C pills in the toilet. And yes I have the photos to prove it. Please avoid these products at all cost so you won't end up like me.

Hello, Taiji. I hope you are doing better and I’m sorry to hear what happened to you. I viewed your photo and as far as I can see it look like your skin was bleached/lightened in different section of your body. So yes the product did work but bleached your skin in different sections which isn’t the ‘idea’. Before purchasing the product did you check the ingredients? How much ‘hydroquinone’ is in the product. By law not more the 2% hydroquinone is in a product over the counter. A dermatologist or a esthetician can prescribe a higher percentage in some cases. Did you apply more cream in one area on your body then the other? That can cause patches. Also some skin on your body might lighten quicker then other parts of your body so be careful on how much product you are applying. For example my face lighten very quickly so I apply less bleaching cream on my face then my body. By hands is very difficult to lighten so I apply more. I hope this help. I have used funky mommy products many many times and can only praise their products. It has done wonders for my skin. I feel maybe your skin is sensitive ornyounised the self combination of products for your skin or too many different products at once. Sorry to hear of what happened to you but it can’t be blamed solely on the products as many people testify to how they have improved their skin.
Anything you order online is like a hit and miss thing. It is like a gamble. Sometimes you win or loose. If you can find store or an outlet that carries their products to test your sensitivity to them. That will be a very good thing to do. I'm sorry to hear of your misfortunes. But hey! At least it did give you some results. It gave you white spots. It is indeed whitening :)
you numbnut! that's what funkymommy products are for, of course you'll see white spots! leave them alone, if you want watered down cosmetics go shop at macys or something they said "a healthier and FAIRER" you, not a health diet pill -_- It's an asian-type store anywhere for people who reaally want to whiten their skin
I am from Pakistan and I made an order on Funkymommy website and I have still not recieved the order. I have handed over order tracking number but the packaging has still not arrived. Its been three months now and I am totally depressed and hopeless. My fedex order number is [protected].
funky mommy need to go to jail. this is a evil company who is out to destroy people and take their money by doing so. i got the dirty looking products with no instruction on the dirty product. all my face got burnt black and i wrote this fools and they had the gut to tell me i did not follow instruction when their dirty product came with no product. maybe we need to contact this law firms to fight for us.
Some people or someone from Funky Mommy is a fraud that create accounts on forms and post comments saying how they have been using the products with good results. A few years back on a forum I used someone from Funky Mommy was banned for creating a few usernames (they had the same IP address) promoting the product, pretending to be several different people. After this happened, the person ranted on the funny mommy blog about freedom of speech and how many different people can have the same IP address. This is complete BS as the chances of someone with the same IP using the same product talking on a forum is slim to none. Then the person created multiple petitions- also with multiple usernames against the forum saying is was racist and corrupt! I had been planning on trying some of the products, but after this I wouldn't buy their products solely because of how pathetic this person that promotes their product is. I bet they even posted a comment here promoting Funky Mommy!
I can't believe i bought this ###! Vitiligo can be caused by skin bleaching products! I will not try
these products from funky mommy. I will just stick to chemical peels, this ### is unsafe and i am not risking my skin just for a lighter skin tone. Think about it first before using these products. Also Funky mommy should not claim that their products are safe when clearly skin bleaching is unsafe. I want my money back. Also i don't agree with how Funky mommy dismissed this persons claims, they are unbelievable. No one would claim that they got white spots from a product for no reason. I am pissed for this person. Anyone who wants to risk getting vitiligo, use skin bleaching creams at your own risk.
I have been using the glata c cream on my body for over 4 months now, and i have noticed white spots on my legs. My doctor confirmed its vitiligo. So, there may be truth into this poster's claims. Tread carefully with funkymommy products.

Funky mommy takes forever to process your order. I ordered their products two weeks ago and still I haven't received it yet and I'm in the U.S. How long does it take to process an order I wonder? That is my only complain so far.
I have been using their products, for almost a month now. i have not experience such side effects. It actually lightens my dark spots and diminished acne and even scar. I feel sorry for u, but as what they said, file a law suit. Skin reacts differently, but FM products did a good job on me as well with other friends, otherwise I will not recommend their products.
I have been using funky mommy products ever since and I haven't got any negative reactions which simply shows that her products are skin friendly and contains no harmful chemicals which other products have. As a matter of fact, I have gained the complexion i want to achieve after using her glutathione pills and cream without experiencing problems. I don't think it's the product that caused white skin spots on your skin and I suggest that avoid using skin care products without consulting your dermatologist. And lastly, I'm sorry but I think posting your complain here is not credible and you simply want to destroy the reputation that funky mommy has established a long time ago. If you have experienced such problem, as what Ms.Mags said, you should have filed your complain in FDA. Kudos!
People you need to stop making negative remarks if you can't back it up. Instead of making Funky Mommy look bad.. you look bad, you are just giving Funky Mommy free publicity for doing so!. It only shows that you are either a disgruntled competitor or a psycho customer whom Funky Mommy refused to sell her products to lol!

I agree with Funky Mommy here, if their products damage this person's skin as he/she claimed with photos of vitiligo to match then why not file a suit., than go to complaints board After 4 months? It doesn't make any sense. Now I'm starting believe that this complaint is a hoax, the words are completely out to smear funky mommy's name and their amazing products. I have been a loyal client of FM for 3 years now and I owe it to Mags Baylan why my life has diff. meaning now, she didn't just show me the proper way to use their products to ensure results but to love myself in order to love others. Where can you find a seller like that! Nowhere., funky mommy is one of a kind and so as her products.
Zsa Zsa - This would have been resolved if there was indeed a case, this supposed person never ordered therefore never contacted us otherwise we should have him/her on our record and what do you mean my attack that was a response to all this lies and false accusations, .we are entitled to clear our name, this is slander and we are not taking this sitting down. Our products are great the way they are, no need for improvement, it's these disgruntled customers or business competitors that needs to lighten up, stop with the lies and start doing something productive with their lives. We are not here to please everyone, we are here to sell the best, safe and mostly effective skin lightening products that you could ever use. Now if you decided not to purchase from us based on how i responded, well it is entirely up to your own discretion. We don't force anyone to buy from us, we are here to help those who needs assistance to achieve a healthier and fairer skin.
This is distressing as I just purchased items from Funky Mommy myself. Mags, if the person did indeed have side affects using Funky Mommy products then of course they would want to warn others and post a complaint in a forum, aside from pursuing your company legally.
Many more people purchase items online based on feedback and reviews than there people who follow obscure law suits.
Your attack of the claimant reflects more on you than the claimant. Instead of being so defensive and attacking the claimant's comments, you should focus more on how much your products have helped others and then offer a solution, i.e., if the products do not work for you, return them and your money will be refunded. See how much more positive that sounds?
Karma does have a way of working its way around; my advice to you would be to take a former customer's comments seriously and look into if this type of reaction is typical or if it could be a side effect of product OVERUSE. Use this complaint to YOUR advantage, use it as a means to improve your product and your online image.
As of right now, reading your posts, you come off extra defensive. I don't think I'll be purchasing your products any longer just based on your response to this one person.

Thats not an affect of the soaps or products you may have sensative skin and the products may have caused you to have vitiligo. Because I used the products for 4mths with no problem. I know this is vitiligo because I had it and if it was because of the products it will not get worse. Thats how vitiligo works. All I can say s go to MERRY CLINIC. COM that helped me alot.
This is something beyond "doesn't really work on his skin", if that was the case then what is he/she doing here in complaints board?Most people will just move on to the next product hoping to find the one that will work, ...right? But instead, he or she or whatever this person's gender (irrelevant), is posting what seem to be a damaged skin, but instead of complaining to proper channels, she chose this platform, why, ..? because she has more than just a complaint but a mouthful of lies and ulterior motive to defame and bad mouth our products.
I challenge this person to have our products tested, our products are all natural based, so unless you can prove otherwise, I suggest you move on with your miserable life.
well..we can't blame that person if he really suffers that kind of stuff..what if the product doesn't really work on his skin..

wow, were you out of luck or what. Funky Mommy has always been very good on replying to my emails and phonecalls, being that im not from the US. Im just shock to see this complaint. ONE time i forgot the time difference and called her, i didn't realized that it's 2AM there in NY, and she picked up, i was so apologetic, but she still gave me time to talk to her, but i was the one who told her that i will call her in the morning. She's been always accomodating and her products works so great on me, it has been for months, so i dont' know why is this happening to you. Funky Mommy always tells me patience is a virtue, her products does not contain harsh chemicals so results will take longer and gradual compare to another products that contains HQ., but it is ok for me., id rather be happy than sorry..
I don't think her products can cause that, i have been using Funky Mommy products for almost a year now, I even recommend it to my co-workers who was suffering from melasma and all i can say is nothing close to what you just posted here, i feel bad for you but are you sure you're not using other products besides Funky Mommy? Personally, I don't think yo can get these side effects from it, otherwise, i and the rest of the people i know who are using FM products would be suffering from the same skin condition as you are now..
Why would you use Funky Mommy products anyway? They are notorious for giving white blotches on the skin. You should have reviewed other testimonials before buying something questionable.
Maybe you should have gone to your dermatologist in the first place instead of relying on something you buy over the internet!
