Sun chips compostable bag

Place in a compost pile and it will be completely "gone" in fourteen days. I'm here to tell you this is a flat out lie. I know this is not true because my husband and I have a well established compost pile and we put our empty bag of Frito Lay Sun Chips, the one that advertises on the bag about it being compostable, in our compost pile back in February. It is now May and the bag is still complete, not so much as a whole is in the bag. I think they advertise this bag as being compostable because they know that people are trying to be more "green" and people will be more likely to buy there chips because they think that it will be better for the environment. Guess they didn't plan on anyone really trying out there bags in a compost pile!!!

I read somewhere that those compostable sun chips bags were taken off the market because they were so noisy??

According to Frito-Lay, it breaks down in about 14 weeks if the compost temperature is above 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

Check your calendar, it's only March not May. Are you smoking your compost?
